Gota Is Praised By Muslims Says The Ministry Of Defence

Muslim leaders thanked the Secretary for his commitment in solving social issues that arose in the past while protecting the interests of the community, says the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka.

Secretary to the MOD Gotabaya Rajapaksa participated at a traditional ‘Iftar’ ceremony at the Hotel Ramada in Colombo last evening (01st August). The Iftar was hosted by the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development.

“Rajapaksa’s initiative in organizing such a religious gathering with the presence of invitees from different cultural and religious backgrounds came under praise from all those present. They commended the initiative of the Secretary in facilitating an environment where peaceful coexistence among all religious and ethnic groups can thrive.” MOD said in its official website.

Secretary MOD sat down together with Islamic religious dignitaries and scholars who had arrived from many parts of the country to break fast in keeping with traditional customs.

Did they ask this man, who has no conscience, why he does not STOP the anti Muslim attacks, on Muslim businesses? Did they ask him why he allows the BBS to roam freely in this country to spew hatred and cause communal strife in the country? Did they ask him why people who do these crimes do so with impunity?
He must be a thick skinned man, to sit with those he encourages others to attack, by silent consent.

Mohan Peris is the mastermind to all these, he has a big Muslim gang in hand
Look at all these Lawyers name
Secretary to the Ministry of Defence who in turn had gone to the extent of arranging meetings with the de facto Chief Justice.

In one such case, involving the Ceylon Tobacco Company (case regarding the pictorial warnings on packets), Mohan Pieris gave an audience to a few representatives of the CTC, who were told by the de facto Chief Justice to change the Counsel (Romesh de Silva, PC) and retain one of the more regime friendly lawyers.

Peiris had also suggested the names of few such lawyers including Ali Zabri, a private lawyer who appeared for Defence Secretary in his defamation case against The Sunday Leader. The CTC thereafter retained Faiz Mustapha, (father of Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapha) and Ali Zabri.

Greasy yakkas to Halal and Hijab and Mosque attacks are well-planned campaigns intended to intimidate and provoke the Muslims but wisdom prevailed Muslim patience and tolerance defeated the ulterior motives. Now no other way get hold of some no-name characters for a gathering to show ‘Oh Muslims we are with you’ but the none of those who know the tricks showed-up.

Most of these comments are filled with hatred and jealousy.

See how, other muslim sects, probably wahabis too are upset about gota meeting muslims.

See how christians are upset. See, how you lunatics become pi$$ed off if gota met some buddhist monks. Christianity also has over 38000 denominations. At least Sri Lanka has 50 of them. IF one group meet gota what would others say.

what is the right thing for you guys. Only to meet people from your church or the mosque and allow only your church or mosque to fill Sri Lanka with your church or the mosque

A bunch of muslim HYPOCRITES and CRONIES of the regime have have got together to feed the Defense Secretary with HALAAL food.
I don’t see any relevance in inviting the DS for an Ifthaar Programme
as he has given a free hand to the BBS, JHU, Sinhala Ravaya and the other extremist elements to carry out atrocities on the minorities.
Surely this is an International Show Case !!!!!

actually the Offense secretary was NOT invited to this.. he was the HOST. at least the department that is directly under him….. He was supposed to have asked the Jamiyathul Ulema to organize this event, which they diplomatically backed out of…

Assalamu Alaikum to my Muslim brothers who seem to have alot of energy to insult and berate, despite fasting. Oops…or did you forget that it is still Ramadhan and opening one’s ‘mouth’ should not be for anything but…
Of course Gotabaya knows why those who came, came. This is a game and everyone present is playing for their side.
Most Muslims know they have leaders not worthy of their communities and their faith. However, they are also lazy and do not want to do anything about it. You get the leadership you deserve and Sri Lanka in general is proof of that. The internet provides us all a wonderful anonymous tool to insult, criticize and comment without consequence or commitment and most of those who commented previously have done just that.
Rauf Hakeem was/is an adulterer and is not worthy of being even tolerated let alone being a leader. Has anyone in the so-called Muslim leadership questioned or sactioned him for it. Rizvi Mufthi has all his relatives and in-laws running Jamiathul Ulema and allied organizations. Has he suffered any consequence to getting into the ‘Halal Business’. I thought nepotism is looked down in Islam and that is one cause of the Shia/Sunni split. If Muslims insist on tolerating ‘thambi’ behavior they deserve the backlash it brings. Get you own house in order. Then you can speak with integrity about others.
When you bribe Customs to smuggle, when you do not pay your taxes or your Zakath for that matter, when you seem to have 100’s of lakhs from selling shoes…, When you think you have an inside track to the truth and everyone else is wrong, When you think having another wife on the side is okay, you have to expect criticism by observers and the envious. The envious with power are dangerous and that is what you are finding out.

All what you say applies to Sinhala-Buddhists, Christians and Tamils as well. No community is perfect.

Majority of Muslims live a honourable life according to Islam teachings. Therefore, it is unfair to generalise. Agree, there is a minority who are an insult to he community and the religion.

THIS IS HOW MUSLIMS PERSECUTE MUSLIMS.

” STATE OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN PAKISTAN CONSIDERED ‘DIRE’

    By Zoey Di Mauro

WASHINGTON (CNS) — Panelists at a religious freedom session on Pakistan called for reform of the nation’s laws, calling the situation for minorities dire.

In June alone, 47 religious minorities were killed in Pakistan, according to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.

The victims included an 18-year old Christian man tortured to death by police after he was suspected of kidnapping a Muslim woman, the commission said.

“Basic law enforcement and legal reform are desperately needed,” Knox Thames, director of policy and research at the commission, said July 18 at a hearing about the state of religious freedom in Pakistan.

Panelists echoed Thames’ sentiment that the situation for religious freedom there is dire.

Representatives of the primary minorities in Muslim-majority Pakistan — Christians, Hindis, Ahmadiyya Muslims and Shiite Muslims, spoke out about the horrors their peers have suffered.

Peter Bhatti of International Christian Voice told how he was personally affected by religious intolerance in Pakistan — his brother, Shabaz Bhatti, a federal minister, was murdered for his work on behalf of religious minorities.

Peter Bhatti said homes and churches have been vandalized or destroyed, and men and women have been attacked and even burned alive.

As recently as June 3, three Christian women were beaten and forced to walk around their town naked.

“Christians are fearful in their own motherland,” said Bhatti. “They are seen as Westerners because they share the same religion.”

More than a million Catholics make up part of the Christian minority in Pakistan. In the past year, two Catholic churches and a Catholic hospital have been attacked.

Many non-Muslim women are kidnapped, raped, then forced to marry their abusers in an effort to convert them to Islam, said Jay Kansara of the Hindu American Foundation. Hindus, as the largest religious minority in Pakistan, are especially targeted, he said.

In addition to physical acts of violence, numerous government policies, such as the blasphemy laws, target minorities by making it illegal to say anything against Islam or to harm a copy of the Quran. Many people are jailed for life even when they recant allegedly making such statements.

Ahmadiyya Muslims face restrictive voting policies, and Hindu marriages are not recognized by the state, making abductions and forced marriages even easier.

Many public school textbooks, especially history books, only show the Muslim perspective and demonize other groups, according to the commission, and such a bias deeply affects a student’s mindset.

“A large portion of public school students could not correctly identify religious minorities as citizens, and many were skeptical about the potential for religious minorities to assist in the development of Pakistan,” reported the commission’s executive summary on religious discrimination in Pakistan. “Like their teachers, the majority of public school students viewed non-Muslims as enemies of Islam.”

The panelists stressed that religious minorities are too terrified and bullied to act against the persecution, so international pressure to make top-down changes could be the most powerful catalyst for change within the country, according to the speakers.

The commission is eager to have Pakistan designated as a country of particular concern by the State Department, but so far those efforts have been unsuccessful.

Despite the violence of their countrymen and the seeming indifference of their government, Bhatti spoke with great patriotism and a hope. “

      Mr. Jim Softy

You are talking about the failure of Pakistan government to tackle the internal issue of the country, it does not necessarily means failure of Religion…Budhism cannot be learned from either BBS is SL / Thailand richest Monks or Myanmar monks…Its only through the scripture / original sources… same like islam also has to be taken from the muslim quran or reliable sources….what Pakistan / Saudi is doing nothing to do with islam…this applicable for all world powers…China/Russia does not represent the socialism…America does not represent the actual democracy/ capitalism….
You are talking about some data; it’s not professional to talk about few baseless data in order to judge anything……. Everywhere in the world there are discriminations regardless of religion…Hindu extremism in India which killed thousands in Gujrath..Buddhist extremism in Myanma kills thousands of Muslims…Christian extremism recently kills 70s in Norway / LRA in Uganda….so the list continues….. But it does not necessarily represent the religion…

The Muslims of Sri Lanka are a passive bunch who can be pushed and shoved into accepting their plight without much protest. This has been how they have behaved from the time of the kings. The Rajapakshes are exploiting this tendency to its fullest. They do not realize the hidden danger. This danger is being stoked with willing collaboration of the Zionists.

sooner than later, there may be consequences to face… when u throw a ball to the wall it comes back at u twice as fast… you can only stretch a rubber band to an extent, then it gives way… Now that he Tamils have been suppressed, they are trying to oppress the Muslims… wonder what may happen, when the Tamils and Muslims band together and take up arms like what happened 30 years back… Our beloved country cannot afford another nasty war… BUT we are lQQking directly at one…
      THANKS TO RAJAPAKSAS AND BBS

NO food served at 5 star hotels is guaranteed halal. I knew of a steward long ago who warned me NOT to partake food when I attended a Muslim wedding at the Hilton. He told me, his fellow stewards who weren’t Muslims pitched in and bought a few portions of pork and mixed it to the ” MUSLIM” Biriyani which was brought from outside by the grooms’s side… and they had told him… let’s see if Muslims will find out… This happened almost 15 yrs ago.. since then I stopped eating ANY meat at a 5 star wedding or even dinner…

WHO ARE THESE MUSLIM LEADERS WHO PRAISED “GOTA” .

MAY I KNOW WHO ARE THE “SCHOLARS AND DIGNITARIES” SEATED WITH GOTA.

    THIS WAS A “GET-TOGETHER” OF HYPOCRITES. FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT HYPOCRISY IS;

Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that one does not actually have. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie

IS THIS WHAT THE “SO-CALLED MUSLIMS” CELEBRATING?

The Bodu Bala Sena will recommence its battle against the Halal Certification to root it out entirely from the country, one of the organisation’s leading monks has pledged.

    Galagodaaththe Gnanasara

General Secretary of the BBS, Buddhists monk Galagodaaththe Gnanasara said that although the group had stepped away from the battle against Halal because of the intervention of the Maha Sanga, the problem has not yet been resolved.

He said that although the All Ceylon Jamaiythul Ulema had promised to remove the Halal logo from products in the Sri Lankan market that promise had been broken. Although the authorities were still permitting products bearing the Halal logo to be available in the market.
