Hardline Monks Rally Sri Lanka As Buddhist Front

With a bloody civil war over and a cautious peace at hand, a group of hardline Buddhist monks is rallying Sri Lankans against what they say is a pernicious threat: Muslims.

Gnanasara

In just over a year, the saffron-swathed monks of Bodu Bala Sena — or Buddhist Power Force — have amassed a huge following, drawing thousands of fist-pumping followers who rail against the country’s Muslim minority.

Buddhists have attacked dozens of mosques and called for boycotts on Muslim-owned businesses and bans on headscarves and halal foods. At boisterous rallies, monks claim Muslims are out to recruit children, marry Buddhist women and divide the country.

      Putting one cap isn’t going to help anything. We should get them all together and bomb them.

    BBS rep,original idea got infected? Ever wondered how and why?
    Well,when Buddhist were being converted into Islam and
    Christianity there wasn’t any public outcry or protest and
    of course few numbers among the converts were Buddhist monks.
    Why can’t you look at it differently, like “people have a
    right to change their mind” the same way you think that you
    have a right to protect your Buddhism from melting away.What
    was done instead was turning the whole concept of Buddhism
    upside down and injecting and inciting violent reaction!
    Was it violent,the conversion?You don’t trust your Buddhist
    principles can work to get you the results you wanted.So,
    you used the saffron of innocence to hide your violent,
    hate filled campaign to achieve your original goal of
    inciting unsuspecting Sinhala Buddhist against Muslims.
    More and more Buddhists are converting to Islam and
    Christianity not for one or two reasons but the chief of
    them is,Sinhala Buddhism has let them down.Mr.BBS,why
    don’t you do something to correct the situation before
    embarking on a mission to destroy the alternatives?

      It is the un-Buddhist behaviour of these violet Monks that is making the good Buddhists to shun Buddhism and seek solace in other religions. On the Halal issue the BBS and the likes have lost their way because the demand for Halal food and that they be properly identified keeps increasing all over the world and many countries are introducing methods to strengthen the Halal methods even when there are no Muslims living in such countries. The noise of the BBS and the likes are just made in wilderness to justify their political patrons who use these Monks to seek their political objectives.

    well lets see how to solve this problem peacefully once and fore all in Sri Lanka ,,

    transfer all the Theravada Buddhist citizens from Muslim countries to Shilly Lanka which may amount to about 10 million and we ask the 2,5 million Muslims to migrate to just Malaysia and problem solved -Malaysia has about 5 million (Including shingala Theravada citizens )

    Then all the Muslim countries can terminate their diplomatic relations with shily lanka and send all the migrant workers back and also make a shilly lanka boycott certificate mandatory for any company wanting to do trade with Muslim countries , then all shilly lanka , shingala Buddhist people can live happy ever after …

    rated as BEST SOLUTION .. hurray !!!!!!

    THE NEW TERRORISTS

    Myanmar: Buddhist group attacks Muslims
    January 17, 2014 8:45AM ET
    NGO says dozens may have been killed, while government denies attacks on religious minority in remote part of country
    Myanmar: Buddhist group attacks Muslims
    Al Jazeera America‎ –

    More than a dozen people may have been killed after a Buddhist group rampaged through a town in an isolated corner of Myanmar, hacking Muslim women and children with knives, a rights group reported Friday.

    A government official said the situation was tense but denied any deaths.

    Myanmar, a predominantly Buddhist nation of 60 million people, has been grappling with sectarian violence for nearly two years. More than 240 people have been killed and another 250,000, mostly Muslims, forced to flee their homes.

    Chris Lewa of the Arakan Project, an advocacy group that documents abuses against members of the Rohingya Muslim minority, told The Associated Press that details about the violence that occurred early Tuesday morning in northern Rakhine state were still emerging, with many conflicting reports.

    It is one of the most isolated regions in the country, both politically and geographically, and access to foreigners is denied or severely restricted. The death toll could range anywhere between 10 and 60, said Lewa, whose sources range from a village administrator to witnesses.

    Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), which runs a nearby clinic, said it was concerned that residents who fled the area may need medical care.

    “MSF confirms that on Wednesday it saw two wounded people suffering from injuries inflicted as a result of violence — one from a gunshot wound and the other exhibiting injuries consistent with a beating,” Peter-Paul de Groote, head of MSF’s Myanmar mission, told Reuters.
    Religious minority

    Tensions have been building in the region since last month, when monks from a Buddhist extremist movement known as 969 toured the area and gave sermons by loudspeaker advocating the expulsion of all Rohingya, who make up 90 percent of the population in northern Rakhine. It’s the only place where the religious minority is in the majority.

    A volunteer English teacher who spoke on condition of anonymity because he feared reprisals said an initial flare-up followed the discovery of three bodies in a ditch near Du Char Yar Tan village.

    Villagers alerted the friends and neighbors of a group of eight Rohingya who went missing after being detained by authorities days earlier, and a group returned to the bodies with cell phones to take pictures, the teacher said.

    When police went to the village to confiscate the phones and check family lists, a crowd turned on the officers, beating and chasing them off, the English teacher said. The police returned at 2 a.m., saying one of their men had gone missing, he said, which triggered a security crackdown.

    Soldiers and police surrounded the village, breaking down doors and looting livestock and other valuables. Almost all the men fled, leaving the women, children and elderly behind, he said.

    Lewa said her sources reported that Rohingya women and children had been hacked to death, but the numbers varied widely. Some put the death toll as low as five or 10, but one source who works for the administration in Maungdaw town said it is widely believed 40 died, mostly women and children.

    That some of the victims appeared to have been stabbed with knives, not shot or beaten, “would clearly indicate the massacre was committed by (Buddhist) Rakhine villagers, rather than the police or army,” the Arakan Project wrote in a briefing Thursday.

    The English teacher, who spoke by telephone, said 17 women and five children were killed.

    Rakhine state spokesman Win Myaing said police had surrounded the village because they were looking for the policeman who went missing, but that he was not aware that anyone had been killed.

    Khin Maung Than, a Muslim who lives in a neighboring village, said he visited Du Char Yar Tan and had seen no evidence of violence or deaths there.

    Tensions have been reported for days, but getting information is difficult. Northern Rakhine, which is home to 80 percent of the country’s 1 million Rohingya, runs along the Bay of Bengal and is cut off from the rest of the country by a mountain range.

    Some of the people there descend from families that have been there generations. Others arrived more recently from neighboring Bangladesh. All have been denied citizenship, rendering them stateless.

    For decades, they have been unable to travel freely, practice their religion, or work as teachers or doctors. They need special approval to marry and are the only people in the country barred from having more than two children.

    One religious group trying to create communal disharmony by crating animosity against another religious group is TERRORISM, as per the law of the land. Why is the government not taking action against the Balu Bala Sena? This is another charge that could be brought against the Government at the UN.

    unable,unequal, unsafe,unfinished,unbelief, unconcerned, unemotional , unbelief,untruth,unfair,unfitting,
    ====================================
    UN can not and will not do anything in the end..

    Look at the past— cambodia /Bosnia/

    and today , Burmese rohingya people- their persecution d is being mocked on daily basis not only by The Un but also by THE WORLD MOST RESPECTED GODDESS OF TODAY -Aung San Suu Kyi (Burma’s devoted human rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner),so what are you expecting from the Un but the UN..

    as Long as The government is with israel no one one this earth can touch them ,this is something everyone must understand ,, & The sri Lankan leaders no matter what you wish to call them , even if you refer to them as devils , then give the devils their due too , they have connected themselves well , in Europe they have Germany the deciding power of EU ( who arrogantly appreciated the second round of massacre of the rohingyas by lifting the sanctions (while Obama was barking faking not to )as a signal that they approve the killings of unarmed civilians and also in Sri Lanka Germany has openly displayed that they who have sanctioned the attacks on Muslims by funding the BBS building in Galle , then the Norway funding BBS to go to USA ,and the USA after knowing the ground situation of BBS in Sri Lanka issued visas for them over the counter , where even the most bona fide travellers have been refused entry into USA .Then Australia another onetime champions of LTTE like Norway have openly aligned with Sri Lanka’s present government, then as usual the shameless, spinless Muslim Countries ,its leaders and the biggest laugh is palestine and even a greater laugh is the Minister of Justice and who have self appointed himself as the representative of all the muslims of sri Lanka , (another well trained barking Dog rauf) , then the great Tamil prophets of the sinhala people , The most revered Kp ,Karuna, and douglas,I wonder how far it is true most devalas have their photographs displayed and daily poojas are offered for them.

    ———–

    just sit for a moment and think,, except God , can any human living on this earth ever touch The Rajapakshe family ?

    So is it not wise not to bang your head against the rock ? just kneel down and submit willingly , for with or without your approval they will do what they will , at least like the sl muslim dogs in the government who gets some bornes for barking , you will also get some if you just shut up and behave am referring esp to The Muslim community, learn to adopt complete semi nude dresses , eat blood clotted meat once , drink some arrack once in away good for your health , stop sending your children to International schools , adopt Sinhala as mother tongue , keep some statues of your prophets etc , change into catholic islam and you will be peaceful ,have you got any other choice? tell me? and what happens if all food is prohibited tomorrow for you Muslims and only Pork is permitted ,Rauf ahkeem and faizer Mustafa will tell you as in such circumstances you are permitted to eat the Pig so eat it .
    In away the Muslims who ignore the situation are smart , as they have indirectly shown eating pork is also no issue for them , ask most of the muslim business people what they think of the rohingya issue , they will simply tell you two things one is the are bloddy bangalee iligeal immigrants crealing problem for peace loving burma peoples and other ones will say they do a lot of sin so God punish them. these muslim people are good muslim people and we need them for sri lanka ,they also not like ilegal mosqe building .

    What The Catholics of Sri Lanka may be indulging in may be against their faith- but it also seems encouraged by their Bishop and other priests ????????????
    =====================================
    Chakras in Relation to Catholic Teachings

    Clearly evident is the eastern religion spirituality, which influences many New Age and eastern religious spiritual-based practices, such as yoga, Reiki, and Transcendental Meditation. All of these are occult based practices and must be avoided by Catholics. The most interesting reference is the Kundalini Serpent – the eighth Chakra – since it is clearly stated in Catholic teaching that the serpent is the devil and satan (Genesis chapter 3, Apocalypse chapter 12).

    Minority-Phobia, Intolerance And The Impossibility Of Peace

    By Tisaranee Gunasekara –

    “In the middle was Fear….glaring backwards with eyes like fire….upon it burned upon it burned Tumult and Murder and Slaughter…” – Hesiod (Shield of Heracles)

    Why should there be a Buddhist temple in Kenya?

    Neither Sinhalese nor Buddhists have a historical-footprint in East Africa. Yet there is a Buddhist temple in Nairobi, a Theravada one, with a Sinhala monk in charge of it. The temple was built by Sinhala-Buddhist expatriate workers and President Rajapaksa visited it, on his recent visit to Kenya.

    ATTENTION BBS.. OR YOU IN STAND @ EASE POSITION FOR THESE ?
    ———————————————————–
    Sunday Times..

    12 YEAR RAPE VICTIM ,IT WAS THE SHOCK OF HER LIFE AS A MOTHER AND A WOMEN !

    ‘Aiyo aunty, magai me loku badda gediya ahakkaralaa dendako berida, matta aayeth natanna oonai’ (Please aunty, can’t you get rid of my big tummy, I want to dance again).

    This heart-rending appeal of a 12 year-old girl rape victim in 2011 whose desperate plea was to return to a normal life, was quoted by Sulochana Sigera, President, Women in Management (WIM), when she addressed the WIM Professional and Career Awards for Women held in Colombo recently.

    Speaking to an audience that included WIM members and several politicians from the government as well as the opposition, she pointed to the misery many women undergo in today’s Sri Lankan society. She said “If you are a woman, your value is in helping another woman in distress”.

    It was revealed that rape of girls, boys and adults and even women of 80 to 85 years of age is becoming common place while even infants are not spared. Ms. Sigera said that there are people here who sympathise and cry for rapes that are taking place in India, while they tend to ignore the dastardly crimes occurring under their very nose here in Sri Lanka, in a backdrop of lawlessness and scant regard for the ‘rule of law’.

    She said that when she heard the woes of that 12 year rape victim, it was the shock of her life as a mother and a woman.
    Ms. Sigera said they were determined to champion the cause of women.

    Another aim of WIM she said is to empower women, recognise their talents and push them up the ladder from middle management to top management as there are just a few women in the top management. To bring in something different and unique to bring change motivated her to create WIM.

    WIM would start networking to offer opportunities for young people to come up in their careers. Girls who join the universities, she said are not keen to take up careers in the private sector, but prefer the state sector for leave and pension benefits to lead a comfortable life.

    Another perennial problem with regard to women in Sri Lanka, she said is the single mother families with Sri Lanka estimated to have a staggering 500,000 widows most of whom desperately need help. WIM has started a project for single mothers.

    A large number of women who have excelled in diverse professional and career field were identified for the awards of excellence.
    Ms. Sigera, after the awards ceremony, told the Business Times that they are empowering women and in their single mother programme they train them in some vocation such as bridal courses, small businesses to sustain their families. They offer these mothers loans in the range of Rs. 10,000 and once they are established in their careers, the loan is recovered.

    They have conducted such special programmes in Jaffna, Trincomalee, Panama, Samanthurai and Anuradhapura, successfully. They have ensured all those who underwent training are gainfully employed.

    This is a Buddhist nation!
    NOT multicultural society !

    “We need the government on our side. And the government is doing its best job possible to handle this.”
    ======================================
    NO HOPE OF MULTICULTURALISM SRI LANKA EVER – GUARANTEED BY BBS .. AND ALSO BBS HAS OPENLY SAID NO ROOM FOR OTHER RELIGIONS & CULTURES UNDER BUDDHIST UMBRELLA IN SRI LANKA – AND FURTHER HAS OPENLY ADMITTED HAVING THE BLESSING OF THE GOVERNMENT!!

    IS IT EVER GOING TO BE AN ABODE OF PEACE FOR OTHER FAITHS?
    ======================================
    Many see the silence as tacit approval, but Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said it’s intended to encourage community members to work out their own problems. He said the anti-Muslim rumblings are “minor agitations that are normal in any multicultural society.”
    ===================================
    (Muslims)Because most speak Tamil, and not Sinhala, they were key players in military intelligence during the civil war against ethnic Tamil rebels.
    ====================================
    Gnanasara said there are “extremist “????” forces trying to create divisions, buy our lands, marry our wives and recruit our children. The same thing happened in Malaysia, the Maldives and Bangladesh — all now Muslim countries. The same thing may happen in Sri Lanka if we’re not careful.”

    ————————————-

    CONCLUSION = A STRONG MESSAGE TO MUSLIMS ,THEY MAY FACE DANGEROUS
    REPERCUSSION IN THE FUTURE ONCE THE UN ISSUE IS SORTED OUT- WHICH WILL SOON BE CLEARED FOR SRI LANKA BY MANY POWERFUL NATIONS WORKING HAND IN HAND.
