Harin Put The Party On Track For Victory At The Presidential Election: UNP

“Today, the Government has got its answer.  The message from the historic region of Uva-Wellassa to the Rajapaksa regime could not be clearer.” says the United National Party.

Harin FIssuing a statement the UNP said today; “Our party’s own Harin  Fernando, is rewarded in his tremendous sacrifice. Going up against the might of President Mahinda Rajapaksa , this young politician has set an example for aspiring politicians and statesmen across party lines by the magnitude of what he has managed to achieve.  By the might of his sacrifice and the energy he brought to the UNP campaign in Badulla, Harin Fernando has put the party on track for victory at the Presidential Election.”

We publish below the statement in full;

The first salvos of a freedom struggle that eventually brought down imperialist rule in Sri Lanka were heard in the far corners of Uva-Wellassa nearly 200 years ago.

Resonating that same heroic spirit, that yearning for freedom and justice, the march towards the ultimate defeat of the dictatorial Rajapaksa regime has begun in the Uva Province.

The election results from the Uva Provincial poll is a rejection of the regime’s policies of enriching a few while mere crumbs are thrown at the masses.  This is no longer an acceptable mantra of governance.

It is no secret that President Mahinda Rajapaksa left the Uva provincial election till the very end in order to ensure it would b e a final show of strength before he contests a third, illegal term for the presidency.  The Uva Province was perceived to be UPFA’s strongest region.  It was to be a spectacular win, a message to the rest of Sri Lanka and the world about the unshaken bastions of Rajapaksa power.

Today, the Government has got its answer.  The message from the historic region of Uva-Wellassa to the Rajapaksa regime could not be clearer.

The people have had enough of this Government’s lies.  They have had enough of its corruption.  They are  tired of its nepotism and self-serving rule.  The people have rejected the lawlessness and impunity perpetrated by the incumbent regime.  The time has come for the Rajapaksa regime to start packing its bags.  Their reign of terror and corruption is nearing its end.  We know now that democracy will win the day.  Uva-Wellassa has proved this by the way they voted in Saturday’s election.

Our party’s own Harin  Fernando, is rewarded in his tremendous sacrifice. Going up against the might of President Mahinda Rajapaksa , this young politician has set an example for aspiring politicians and statesmen across party lines by the magnitude of what he has managed to achieve.  By the might of his sacrifice and the energy he brought to the UNP campaign in Badulla, Harin Fernando has put the party on track for victory at the Presidential Election.

The Rajapaksa Regime which is running scared has pressured the electronic media not to compare the comparison between the 2009 and the present Uva Province Provincial Council election result.

In fact, the comparison of the elections in the media and net sites has been pulled out. The Rajapaksa Regime especially President Rajapaksa  is now electorally   vulnerable.

We challenge the Regime to hold the election as planned and face the truth about the  chaos   and  misery that the Rajapaksa rule has brought upon the people.

In the face of this first salvo, fired against the regime’s authoritarianism and corruption in Uva, it will be incumbent upon all forces opposing Rajapaksa rule to unite in order to deliver the people from this family curse. It will be our duty for the sake of the nation.

Dream on. Remember what happened in NCP ? Uva the UNP lost but they are so desperate they even celebrate a close defeat !Sasindra Rajapakse is not so popular and also Uva has a large Tamil/muslim vote. A straight battle between a big personality like Mahinda and a westernized loser like Ranil will be a easy run for the former. In the picture above do you see any hope for the common man ? Looks a well fed, hypocritical bunch of pukka sahibs thinking that the country is their plaything

Look at the pic YES !! this is YOUNG BLOOD infused to the party.. ALL future leaders and educated too… How many in the SLFP are educated I wonder… oh yes one such is the guy who was SOLE- LESS at a meeting with the Chinese President (whose Shoe Sole was missing and nails not trimmed YUCK) in this pic u see a Lawyer, A Phd Holder of Economics and more… umm if u know anything about beauty, u have the 1st MRS of the world too….. here wear this Q-Q so u may see better….

      ‘Dream on’ ? Yes Indeed!

And the dream which has come true for the UNP finally.
Looks like you are struggling desperately with words and don’t know how to react. This is what would happen to you fellows.

From nothing to 45% and a sharp fall of Sandhane is the beginning.
Another blow for you nuts is Harin’s preferential votes. Fat Sashi is nowhere near.

About the picture above, you dimwits cant stand good looking English speaking Decent people, right?

The Muslims voted in favour of the UNP and that’s the reason UPFA lost its Majority.

Muslims will not vote for Rajapakses again. They will vote Ranil because they know he will let them govern themselves under sharia law.

YES Harin had the GUTS and the BALLS to give up his perks and power and a membership of parliament to contest a smaller office. HOW many others would do so? bet NONE !!! would Ranil give up his reins of the party so someone who has what it takes can take over and steer the sinking ship on a victorious voyage? Will the other political parties come around and unite to chase away MR,CR,BR,GR,NR,and now SR.. and their kith and kin along with their clan and stooges is the question of the hour. IF, they do.. the country can see some turn around and prosperity without much Rape of country’s wealth. JVP has to make that VITAL decision on a common candidate coz They ALONE CAN NOT win a Presidential election nor…. can such an election be won without their involvement. ALL should come together as ONE and see that the EXECUTIVE PRESIDENCY will be abolished, A Memorandum of Understanding should be signed that who ever is the opposition Presidential Candidate, he/she would resign 3 months after the win and call for the abolition of the Executive Presidency and call for an immediate General Election or the parliament can oust the President from office. This also should be done after taking away the civil rights of all those mentioned above so that they will never have a chance to contest the General Election… This will be the ONLY way.. A new Sri-Lanka will be born where ALL communities are respected and treated as EQUAL CITIZENS. IF not everything will be just a dream..and the Rajapaksa’s would rape n steal all the wealth of the country IF at all anything is left ….

Harin should be the Deputy Leader. Sajith should not have any position other than a member of the elders committee.

    ALL EMPIRES COLLAPSE.

The beginning of the end of MURDEROUS MARA & GORA UN-RULE has begun.

Thank you so much HARIN for making it possible. If not for you this would not have happened. The Nation owes you a great deal for firing the first salvo to the Murderous family who are plundering our country by selling the patriotic slogan.

So Happy that the people have begun to realise this truth.

Be careful of road accidents, taking out dissent by way of road accidents had become a norm. There were two such incidents in the very recent past, one on the election eve and one today of a Human Rights Director. Be aware and take care of yourself. I am not sure whether MARA is responsible, but there seems to be some ghost out there, focussing only on people who oppose the Regime.

Where is Sajith Premadasa? If anybody knows his whereabouts just inform him to come to Sirikotha to accept Dy. leadership from Ranil W. for increasing UNP Votes by not participating in Election campaign.

The Writing Is On The Wall, for all to see. Few will comprehend and fewer still will plan out the needful. Without minding lost time and shelving minor differences, if the Force of Seven do forge unity or a Union, change of regime is assured. Had it happened a month earlier, Uva PC will be in different hands today.

“Great victory in relative terms! To win the Presidential election the following have to be done!

    1. Since there is much documented election malpractices, and certain comments made by the election commissioner, including letters issued, water bottles and Rs. 2500/= The combined opposition HAS to go to courts in spite of the proxy CJ, and possible U turns by Deshapriya! However the challenge has to be documented! The people also have to get confidence that the opposition is not impotent!!

    2. The interesting fact that a large number had not voted and another group with spoilt votes, indicates the dissatisfaction of the people but unable to decide to give the UNP OR JVP? This is the swing vote the opposition has to mobilize in their favour!

    3. The UNP has to start thinking with their brains rather than their bum! Why is there still a significant undecided group? If you don’t want to take gut feelings, do a scientific study! Give a questionnaire asking whether voted, if yes to whom?, why?, whether they got 2500 or water bottles if so why? Most importantly stress on people who did not vote! Were they out of town? Did they not vote due to dissatisfaction of all groups? Or did they not vote because they thought UPFA /or UNP will anyway win? Was it due to the poor profile of the UNP at the national level and if so who? Is Sajith an alternative! If not what sort of leader they expect? FACE REALITY! Give a new face to the UNP!
PLEASE TAKE STOCK. WEAN OUT THE UN-WANTED ESPECIALLY THOSE CORRUPT IN THE PAST! Anyway most are now in the UPFA!

    4. Think of fracturing the UPFA. THEY ARE ANYWAY SPLIT!! They are not coming out because all of them are blackmailed by the RRRR! Think of imploding the RRRR from within! A little bit of imagination would suffice?

    Ashcharyamath Subha Anagathayak!

    .
    Does Harin has a brother?

Chandrika was let down by her brother.
JRJ, Premadasa didn’t have brother’s support.
    Same for Ranil.
    Without brothers, MaRa is nothing.

So, Harin needs a brother like GoRa.

    :-)

    Dear Harin Fernando,

Congratulations. Please have one Harin for every district. Ask Ranil and Sugith to have the house in order.

Let’s move on from here. Chances are the president might not hold a presidential election in January as predicted.

The UNP and the rest of the opposition must get going from here and move the people to think differently and positively. Victory is possible.

The movement must start today! No resting on laurels, please. Build up on the gains at UVA, now!

I am surprised that you too possess the ability to think? Never mind mistakes could happen.

Harin shows the change need in UNP if they want to win against Mahinda. MR personality can be challenged only by people like Hrin, UNP should understand the truth. If UNP not able to give chanses to young people to come up they will face the same fate infornt of MR. SLFP has brougt lots of new faces to most of the elections. By this election results people request UNP leader to what modern day generation wants. Like MR has brought hi son NR. Ranil and his senior should give the batton to new genarration, the only thin they should provide necessary guidance to them. Why Sajith was not able to this kind of action in souther provincial election to wake up the part memebers. He was not strong enough to do that rather going behind media seeking the party leadership. I hope this is the truth UNP should understand if they realy want to defeat MR.
