I Have ‘Files’ On All Those Who Defected: Mahinda

A visibly irked President Mahinda Rajapaksa last night said that he is in possession of ‘files’ on all those who defected from the government last Friday in support of former Minister Maithripala Sirisena‘s candidacy as the common candidate at the upcoming presidential polls.

Mahinda_Rajapaksa4_1Commenting on the Ministers and MPs who left his government, President Rajapaksa yesterday in Anuradhapura, said, “They should not be throwing stones from inside glass houses. I have details about them all and also ‘files’ containing certain information about them. But I will not use them because I am not that type of a person – I do not seek revenge.”

He added that he is not the first person to be betrayed in this manner and pointed that giants of the SLFP including Sirima Bandaranaike had to face similar disappointments from those closest to her in her political career including her daughter, former president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

“CBK mocked Mrs. Bandaranaike, defected and formed her own political party. So people just come and go but unlike others, I never left the party or abandoned it at any point,” he said adding that it is he who worked hard into increasing the number of SLFP MPs from 57 to 127 in the parliament after CBK left.

President Rajapaksa also added that he has always maintained that in his government, anyone is free to join and leave as they please.

“The doors of my government are like salon doors and they will continue to be so. Those who left will have no future but those who remain and join, will benefit well,” he added.

You want talk about files Mr.President, ok, lets talk about files.

How about we see the files detailing the millions of millions of tax payer’s money that you hand out to your allies and family members like it’s pocket money? How about we see the files on the many journalists that you and your brother have silenced? How about the files on the millions of Sri Lankans who cannot afford even milk powder for their children while you sell off parts of the country to the Chinese and build casinos and hotels for rich tourists?

Do you want to show us those files? No? I thought not.

Tony Fernando, what you are saying is so true. Robbing from the poor should be made a capital offence and all those guilty should be made to pay the final price.

SLFP founder SWRD is the one who first crossed the floor of the House from the government party to the opposition. He is the one who started this trend. Even though MR says he has not changed parties, can he say that about his father, another cross-over in 1951. So what is wrong in Mathri’s cross-over? (Can remember MR getting his supporters to attack Mangala of his father crossing-over.) When he states that he has files of those who crossed-over implying they have had crooked deals, isn’t that a threat or a criminal offense of “black-mail” For the sake of good-governance shouldn’t he expose those along with all the files of his other Ministers and MPs. Isn’t willfully hiding corruption is also a crime coming under the Bribery and Corruption act? What a President we have?

My elders tell me the first President to introduce this ” File’ system was one J. R. Jayawardana..

Evidently no body defected from the UNP on his watch.

So this not novel , and it is more relevant because of the recent Terrorism which engulfed the country for three decades.

The Opposition , mainly the UNP. has been accusing the President of mega corruption after outsourcing other allegations to Ms Pillai and the UN.

But they haven’t produced even an aorta of tangible evidence.

Now this is a chance to put their money where the mouth is..

Sira and his handlers must demand that the President produce those files forthwith..

That will prove whether the President calling bluff .

And it may add a few votes to the Opposition . if he is .

But most importantly those votes might compensate any losses due to Ranil not giving the mascot Elephant and the Club colours to the contract CC.

      K.A Sumanasekera,

Athal Sumane.. you are very wrong mate.
there were few who left JRJ and one I can remember is Dr. Neville Fernando who did take on JRJ on principles and now the owner of the much talked about Malabe Medical School.

Also one fine gentleman called Gamani Jayasuriya also resigned against the JRJ/RG so called Indo Lanka agreement in 1987.

It seems like your elders are similar morons like you.

MR has learnt so many lessons from former Presidents — what to do and what NOT to do. The use of “files” was a wellknown JR tactic. When the Referendum was announced he wanted every Govt MP to sign an undated letter of resignation which he would keep and date at his will. Anyone who refused to sign such a letter or seemed un happy, JR just held up a file and said: “I have a file” ion you. That was enough. JR, of course, probably didnt realise what it said about him, hjust as MR is unaware of the finger pointing in his own direction for not taking action on the files.

Does the Bribery Commission function anymore? Shouldnt the alleged 500 million to Tissa A be a subject for investigation?

        • 0
          0

Foremost, Tissa must be compelled to make a formal Statement to the Working Com. if he to continue with the UNP. The Committee thereafter must urgently discuss it should do in the interest of the Nation. Ignoring this kind of activity has been the bane
of leading political leaders. At the same time, evidence of a TNA
member being offered a bribe for cross-over must also be looked
          into.

(In this regard China has agreed with Basil to meet all costs of

K.A Sumanasekera, you must be a comedian. You never fail to make me laugh with your rubbish disguised as facts but mostly made up by yourself. The evidence of mega corruption you are so convinced as not existing will surface when the Rajapakses lose power and their stranglehold on the judiciary and the security forces. Recently India’s Jayalalitha was convicted on a simple fact that she could not show proof how she had amassed her wealth on her ministerial income. Can the Rajapakses or the Mervyn Silvas (who said he’ll buy 8 Lamborghinis) and others really explain how they made their fortunes on their ministerial salaries alone,

Lets give him another (06) years and ask him to act on those files.

CBK promised Ranil 45 cross-overs. Where are the other 40?
This Chaura Ragina playing pucks with Ranil & the UNP.

Unfortunately, UNP’ers have been relegated to the level of Poster boys, to erect stages, decorate with buntings for the CC Sirisena. CBK has killed the ego of the UNP’ers effectively while attempting to gain a foothold in SL politics.
UNP’ers without a Candidate has loss of face.

Not many people will have been surprised with what MR is reported as having said – about having in his possession, files on the defectors. Many believe most of MR’s ministers are not clean and there would naturally be a lot of dirt on them; so, MR’s reported remarks only serve to confirm popular belief. What has also been widely discussed in public is that MR will have taken advantage of the dirt on these fellows to secure their loyalty, by directly or indirectly telling them, never mind, no action will be taken against them.

What must surprise us however is that MR should see fit to make such an self incriminating statement in public, which shows him in as much poor light as the defectors whom he has criticised. So, we have the President, himself, acknowledging he was surrounded by people with questionable records? And, has he not perverted the course of justice by ‘harbouring’ crooks and not seeing that proper action was taken against them?

It is said that the late Edgar Hoover who was head of the American FBI for many years had a ‘hold’ over some important politicians because of the dossiers he kept of their private lives. But then it eventually transpired that there had also been maintained elsewhere, an equally damning dossier on Hoover himself!

These are the files I guess MR is talking about.

List of (ONLY) the registered companies belong to Mithripala Sirisena’s bother Dudley. They controlled rice (mafia) distribution in SL.

    Araliya Rice,
    Hotel Sudu Araliya,
    Araliya Lands,
    Araliya Green Hill,
    Araliya Auto Car Sale,
    Araliya Consultant Service,
    Araliya Amtad
    Araliya Engineering,
    Araliya Power and Energy
    Araliya Grand Colombo

total worth of Dudley according to man himself is Rs. 3,000,000,000 but it could be even double that amount ????

Then other brothers Priyantha Sirisena and Raju Sirisena both are rouges. They are into illegal sales of mahaveli river sand in Manampitiya area in large scale and lot of other fraud.

Read this interview with Dudley on Ceylon Today :
    http://www.ceylontoday.lk/89-71126-news-detail-dudley-sirisena-denies-minister-brother-helped-him.html

Sirisena, together with his son and his brothers were the political thugs who were terrorising and intimidating other businesses in Polonnaruwa district. The Corruption Queen CBK has selected the correct counterpart from Raja Rata to contest Mahinda R.

Only three billion? peanuts for the immediate family!

May be 3 billion is what Sirisena brother declared. May be he is worth 10 billion and his other brothers into illegal sand mining and timber and government projects would be worth another 10 billion. May be Ahmed’s brotherhood in Colombo makes lot more than that by selling white powder?

This is the CONFESSION of the millennium. How infantile a ruler got to be to admit that he knew his Ministers were robbing the country; but that he (as a matter of policy) will not take action against them even though they left the Government.

What about the Ministers like Basil Rajapaksa and virtual Minister Gotabaya? Does he have files on them too, and he permits them to rob as they please?

Of course the lesser offence is sufficient for the purpose of this comment; I will not delve into the possibility Mara is the biggest thief of all.

“Know All”‘s comment is worth repeating here:

We must make sure that the ordinary people of this country who have been robbed by these b..rs get justice and even if it doesn’t bring back the Euros, dollars and pounds they robbed that we have the satisfaction of seeing them behind bars.

Former long standing FBI Director Edgar J Hoover kept dossiers of all the congressmen & the powerful in USA. He was the Kingmaker & brokered deals even with the Mafia but it came to light only recently due to the freedom of speech act. However, the President of SL seems to be so dumb that what he is saying in public is pretty much blackmail. If he was aware that his Ministers & MPs were dishonest, as their leader, shouldn’t he have at least got them to correct their ways instead of turning a blind eye or was it his strategy of ‘giving enough rope to hang themselves’ if the situation arises? If he was unable to keep his people in the straight & narrow as expected from a honorable head of state, then obviously he was a poor leader, not able to influence his people. MR has shot his own foot but it seems that the average person in SL has not realized it.
As for Maithripala Sirisens, he is just another opportunist who CBK expects to be her lap dog & her ticket to get back to politics which is to buy time to groom her son to continue the dynasty.

I can hear the huge sigh of relief emanating from the defectors. If MaRa has only files on them it should be the least of their worries. What puts the fear of God onto them is getting beaten up or even killed by the rent-a-mob goons hanging around the Rajapaksa clan. Incidentally this shows the mindset of these paranoic people. It is quite possible MaRa has files on every MP, Senior Civil Servant and all Generals and Commanders in the Armed Forces. These files, facts or fiction, probably collated at great expense to the taxpayer would serve no purpose except as insurance to be used if someone becomes a whistleblower.

So how about the file about MR taking hot cash from Central Investment Finance Limited (CIFL) Roscoe Maloney and Deepthi Perera all 39 million directly. When CIFL collapsed MR stopped complete investigation into the bankruptcy of this finance company and not only that, when the depositors requested to meet MR several times he blatantly refused. Now how about that file?

      Tamil from North,

      What do you reckon mate…

Can you put in a word to your good buddy , Harper and get Rajapaksa a protection Visa to settle in Scarborough.

You guys are the fair dinkum Human Rights Champions of the world now …Right…

And all you want is self rule in the North.

And it will be granted within 100 days by the cousins Ranil and Chandrika .

And the new Defector Professor says only 7 % in the Diaspora are LTTErs.

And the rest are all Peace lovers.

Rajapaksa at least protected the Dalit kids getting in to the LTTE Child soldier Brigades..

Isn’t that alone a meritorious deed which warrants a protection Visa?…

Hopefully the tamil dalits can work as slaves in above shops. Your fellas have a reputation to maitain. For example look what is happening in the hill country. There were promised land and houses. In the last ten years MR managed to kill them with landslides.

The pathetic irony. So he has had ‘file’ of the defectors, yet as the leader of the government, answerable to the people (funny notion, i know), he has not prevented said defectors’ crimes, nor has he taken action against them while they were still with him. All the more reason to dump the garbage where it belongs.
