JVP Encourages Rosy To Enter From The Back Door

The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, has agreed and granted their approval for the formation of a national government. The acting secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had stated that when working committee of the SLFP converged they had given their consent and had put it forward to President Maithripala Sirisena.

RosyThe Elections Secretariat stated that the names of the winning 196 candidates will be sent to the government printer to be officially gazetted this evening. The names of the other MPs mentioned on the national list are to be handed in by the relevant party secretary’s within a week of results being officially declared.

Meanwhile the JVP had hit a discord when the Anura Kumara Dissanayake led party had included the name of Sunil Handunneththi on the national list along with the name of Sarathchandra Mayadunne. This meant that Chrishmal Warnasuriya whose name was second on the list had to be scrapped off to accommodate Handunheththi who earlier was not elected when he contested from the Kalutara District.

Warnasuriya however had posted the following comment on his Facebook page “My dear Anura; I sincerely hope that you had a REASON for doing what you just did, I am deeply perplexed as none have been explained to me! However, now that you have taken this step, I will expect you to appreciate that I too will have to EXPLAIN all of this to the many who supported us, and who are now inquiring of me – WHY? ”

Subsequently Warnasuriya posted and tendered a public apology to his supporters.

The UNFGG candidate from Colombo Rosy Senanayake who also failed to secure a seat contesting from the Colombo District, has had resounding support from her lobbyists who are egging Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to include more names of female candidates through the national list. A petition doing its rounds on social media seeking signatures at present has seen a mixed reaction to this campaign.

” Let’s not start back door manoeuvres when it suits us and criticize when it does not… If back door manoeuvres are wrong when MR did it… it is also wrong If and when MS or RW does it. For example when Mervyn Silva lost the election some time back and was brought through the National list there were howls of protest…. It was wrong then and this too is wrong if they do!! The new culture has to be shown in action not words. Continuing the wrongs done previously is not the way” stated a comment.

“Only 11 women elected to this parliament. Last parliament had 13.” women rights campaigners say.

“it is gods plan and not ours”

Your name suggests that you can even solve Jigsaw Puzzles. So tell us whether giving MahaJaraa to us to rape, murder and plunder our national wealth for over 10 yrs was ALSO part of Gods plan. That’s a wonderful God.

The picture is no good. Rosy was caught picking her nose. Maybe that’s why she lost.

      @Andare,
What’s wrong if Rosy seemed to have been caught picking her nose? How can you explain the stupidity of voters “picking” pick-pockets, chain snatchers, porn artists, prostitutes, female and child molesters, ethanol, drug and human smugglers into parliament? Do you think “picking” these PRICKS have any legitimacy in our politics?

“JVP Encourages Rosy To Enter From The Back Door”

with so many blue blooded males in the country i hope this is not misinterpreted as encouraging to enter rosy through the back door.

poor rosy, she is already so wary of our srilankan males she will have to run out of the country like frederika if they start to come sniffing like dogs behind her due to the JVP putting out things with double meaning.

Like running another Spa & Hotel under the shady shades of Colombo 7 to service high-profile clients and the young and old parliamentarians?

Lets hope the UPFA does not follow JVP for national list but will take the example of UNP and stick to the original list. President Sirisena has done enough manipulations to block his party from winning the elections. In the name of good governance I hope he will not interfere with this national list of the UPFA.

lets give credit where its due the lady deserved to be elected she spoke eloquently and was very knowledgeable ,yet she had the courage to contest from a very tough district , with so many strong unp stalwarts from Colombo district it was always very difficult for her to get elected , i wonder how many votes she actually got, crying shame that someone like geetha kumarasinghe got elected ( ive seen her speak it was cringing )but not Rosy, but we have to move on .hope she gets a post where she can serve women folk

    Sorry posting again

Continuing more on why Rosy Senanayake should not accept selection through the nomination list to Parliament.

It is an accepted norm candidates who were rejected by people should not be given a second chance through the nomination list. This is certainly backdoor entry. It is fine if the candidates did not contest the elections and then came through the nomination list. Certainly she took a risk. Certainly an MP who contested and won feels superior to one selected through the nomination list. So when one takes the challenge facing elections he certainly takes all the risk. So there is acceptable reasons to feel superior to one selected through the nomination list.

The UNP should be very careful and resist all temptation in bending backwards to give Rosy a place through the nomination list. This is a real test of inner character for both Rosy and for the UNP. Many in the opposition are waiting to see the UNP makes an exception to the rule and will give a golden opportunity to them also claim exceptions and UNP mouth will be shut. The Opposition will claim ‘exception’ to make Rajapakse the Prime Minister mentioning good reasons why he should be the PM instead of Ranil Wickremasinghe and there will be no end. As usual ‘exception is the rule’ in Sri Lanka and we should wean ourselves from this dirty habit.

I agree Rosy does deserve a place but in life we have to face failures too with equal courage. This is where ones moral strength and character will be judged. If Rosy takes a place in the nomination list it will only be a benefit for a short term and in the long term will do more harm. She will regret the decision. So please Rosy if you are reading my comments please resist yourself accepting place through the back door and it is a trap.

There are many ways other than through parliament you could serve the people. I am sure the UNP can help you in many other ways other than appointing you as a Member of Parliament through the nomination list. Accept this alternative offer (other than being a nominated MP) and accept your defeat with humility and prove the voters they were wrong by your hard work through other means and I am sure you will be richly rewarded. Taking short cuts will never help.

Rosy. I am sure you are familiar with Male Chauvanism and Paedophilia goes hand in hand.
This disease is very common among our Srilankan men.
Because you spoke out in favour of womens’ rights and Paedophilia you lost your election . Simple as that.

Remember Srilanka and Srilankans would like to sweep any evils/ crimes done by their men folks under the carpet and they hate those who expose these issues as well.
Again I repeat for this simple reason you lost your bid.
Now as a preferential candidate hope you’ll get the ministry I Mention here.

They should take stern action against these culprits and these matters should be spoken and EXPOSED without any fear with the help of the new government.

You will be a good ambassador to form a Womens’ Ministry. Hope Ranil and Maithri will consider you for this very important issue which is prevalent similar to Cancer and have been buried and hidden from Public eye for centuries.

Stop making nasty and sexist comments. We in Sri Lanka are short of women MP’s in parliament because Parliment has failed to address the issues associated with equality and representation of women to reflect the population. We need to have reserved seats to overcome this Macho culture that persist in Sri Lankan politics. Out of all UNP candidates who competed in Colombo Rosy was the experienced and best qualified for the Job. It’s a pity that she was not voted to office. I believe that RW should back track on his statement not to permit candidates who have not succeeded to be appointed on the national list and make sure that Rosy is appointed as a National member of Parliment. It is an utter disgrace that we have around 52% of women as a part of our population and only have a hand ful of women MP’s in the legislature. Evidence demonstrates that women make sound dicesion and advocate peace. Surely all of us wish yo see a representative Parliment

JVP encourages backdoor for Rosy only because it wants to use the same back door to allow Sunil Handunnethti to seek entry into parliament through the back door after being rejected by the people. Real hypocrites the JVP are. Their true face is now revealed and mask is removed. The JVP climbed the roof top to shout at Mahinda Rajapakse to go home after being rejected by the people and the same fate now befell the JVP.

JVP is good for slogan shouting but never put to practice what they preached. If Sunil Handunnethti lost the elections he should accept it with humility and allow someone else to take their slots for their nomination list and he could serve the people in many other ways than through parliament. I feel JVP if they nominate Sunil Handunnethti should apologize to Mahinda Rajapakse for asking him to go home when he was rejected by the people in the last Presidential elections. But still Mahinda Rajapakse won the General elections which Sunil Handunnethti could not. It is really Sunil Handunnethti should who should give up politics and go home after shouting so much against Mahinda Rajapakse and now he wants to get into Parliament through the back door after having been rejected by the people. They have one rule for others and another rule for them. Beware of JVP who have a rich collection of attractive slogans only to deceive the people.

Don’t trust the JVP. They practice only slogans. They do not have the strength to accept defeat. May I mention they were first to attack Mahinda Rajapakse as a failed candidate rejected by the people and he should give up his aspirations becoming an MP. So now when Sunil Handunneththi got rejected by the people take a different stance. One rule for others and another rule for them. Is this what you practice? Don’t think people are fools just because they are silent.

So why is that, it is wrong for Mahinda Rajapakse to seek premiership and serve the people after having lost the presidential elections but ok for Sunil to seek back door admittance into Parliament through nomination list. I feel JVP as a party should apologize for what they unfairly criticized Mahinda Rajapakse to give up politics because he lost the Presidential elections. JVP please don’t profess on others which you are not prepared to accept when it comes to your turn.

Sunil should accept defeat with equal courage as victory. It only goes to prove JVPs inherent weakness and a good cloak of slogans to cover their weakness and deception. I ask Sunil and the voters at large, what is the purpose of policies one is not willing to practice. A strength of character is truly displayed in moments of crisis and the present events have proved JVP is a party only to promote their selfish interests but cleverly hiding behind slogans and ‘big talk’. Sunil your actions proves that you and your comrades love to be ‘capitalists’ but lack the talent so compelled to profess socialism and bring down capable people to their low level. And you all are opportunists. Nothing else describes you better. We see it very clearly.

Come accept the fact people who have lot of money can do better than those deprived. Many rich people were financially poor to start, but they used their talent and became rich. There is nothing wrong in being rich and you are merely jealous because you do not have the talent to make your money in the legitimate way. Just give a million to a street beggar and he will finish it off in a few days to beg again in the street.

Sunil accept defeat on its own stride and there are many other ways you could serve the people being outside Parliament. This is the best way to prove your strength of character and fairness to all. You should allow another JVPer to accept the nomination slot. What is the purpose of talking equal opportunities to all when you have failed to respect when it was your turn to provide.

JVPers, communists and socialist are formed by lazy and untalented people who cannot face competition and wants everybody valued equally irrespective of talent and output. Communism and Socialism are outdated and failed philosophies and we have seen by our own eyes how countries like China had convincing advancements once they ditched communist ideals and allowed fair competition. China within a matter of a decade now is world’s powerful nation. All this was because all these days China followed communism and kept their people in extreme poverty when the ruling class enjoyed all luxury.

If all are equal all chemical elements of the periodic table should have the same monetary value and gold, sand or lead sold at the same price!
