Letter To The President On Demolishing 65 Year Old Dambulla Mosque

By Azath Salley

Azath Salley

Azath Salley

His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksa

President of the Democratic, Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

Presidential Secretariat

Colombo.

Your Excellency

Attempts to demolish the Mosque in Dambulla

The initial attempt at bringing down the 65 year old mosque initiated by a so called hidden hand continues to haunt your regime.

You will remember that I brought this to your notice the day prior to this incident and failed to receive any response from you, until a senior minister in your government confirmed that the mosque in question was indeed 65 years old.

In the ensuing drama and at a general meeting you assured the Muslim community that the mosque at Dambulla will not be touched.

Despite your assurance and proclamation and at a time when the whole Muslim world has stood behind you, you have failed to live up to your assurances.

You are fully aware that this mosque has been in existence since 1964 and built with the support of the people of the area and the Viharadhipathy, the Chief Incumbent of the historic Dambulla Rajamahavihara.

Your Excellency, Buddhist –Muslim relations in Sri Lanka you are aware, is more than ten centuries old. A bond that withstood 500 years of colonial rule, the post colonial period and beyond.  We did not succumb to the divide and rule politics of the colonial powers and we distinctly identified those who are alien from our countrymen. That is the reason why we did not succumb to the colonial masters and therefore bore the brunt of suffering with the majority Buddhists during the colonial period.

You will agree that Buddhist –Muslim relationship is not built on opportunities or marriages of convenience but of sincere understanding and goodwill, time tested by centuries of coexistence.

This is the reason why we stood as a buffer against the division of the country in spite of the bulk of us being Tamil speaking. That is why got battered and butchered by the LTTE when we were praying in the mosques and still, more than 100,000 Muslim IDPs are living in squalid conditions and are deprived of their livelihood and domicile.

This orchestrated attack on Muslim places of worship is not a yardstick to measure the strength of the Muslim-Buddhist bond. A true Sinhala Buddhist will not ever support these attempts, defying the teaching of Gautama the Buddha.

These attempts and attacks are not against the Muslims but are attacks against the sovereignty of the state, when the focus of the whole world is on us.

You cannot sit on the fence any longer.

I urge you to take this into your hand and bring these incidents under control failing which, you will be forced to contend with a country where all the communities who are a numerical minority will be asking for international intervention to a problem which is being created by extremist elements within us.

Thank you

Yours Sincerely

M.Azath S. Salley

I know Azath Salley! He did not write this letter. Azath is a bigger problem for the Muslims than to anyone else because of his propensity to only think of himself. He has survived thus far by jumping from one corner to another. Remember his antics from just two years ago? Then, he got close to MR. I guess the gates to Temple Trees are closed again. So, he is making noise to get attention – for himself!
He is no exception. The whole lot are the same.

What is the point in writing to Maharajapakse?

He is the master mind behind all these: It is clear to everybody because he keeps denying that these things happen, from Mullivaaikkaal to Mosque and Church destruction.

Take the matter to the UN, if you want any remedy.

What is the point? you ask thiru, what is the point indeed. That is my response to all open letters.

Why write to a website that is banned in SL and is only read by the diaspora and a few people in Colombo?

This letter appears nowhere in the local press, who is fooling who?

You have a different axe to grind and it is obvious. The topic is whether there was a genuine mosque and also whether the Muslims displaced by Tamil Tigers will be re-settled soon in their original or new homes.

Mr Salley, Can you produce documentary proof to your claim that there was a 65 yr. old mosque near the Buddhist temple? Survey plan of the land ? Building plan etc?. Are we to believe that the Viharaadhipathi of the Dambulla temple 65 years ago was a Moslem?

“Mr Salley, Can you produce documentary proof to your claim that there was a 65 yr. old mosque near the Buddhist temple?”

Interesting. One Sinhala “Buddhist” Para asking a “Muslim” Para asking a question in the Land of the Native Vedda.

Why don’y you Para-Sinhala get back to your native South India and India and leave the the Land of the native Veddah. You can be in the Land where the Enlightened Buddha was born.

Why the lies and Imaginations of the Para-monk Mahanama getting in the way?

Paras, please leave the land of the Native Veddah. if you cannot behave in an egalitarian manner in keeping with the Native Veddah culture.

Amarasiri, Why are you using a Sinhala name? You should set an example by taking your own advice and leave the land of the genuine Sinhala people, inhabited even before the times of the great sinhala kings Bali, Tharu, Ravan, Gamunu, Vijayaba etc

          Raja, Raja,

“Amarasiri, Why are you using a Sinhala name?”

Amara is not Sinhala and siri is not Sinhala either. Just Google them. Just because the Sinhala copied from the Indians, Greeks and others, it does make it Sinhala. Fernando, Silva, Perera, Dias are not Sinhala. They are Portuguese.

Furthermore, The Land of the Native Veddah does not belong to the Para-Sinhala or Para-Tamils or others Paras, the later illegal arrivals,

There is no such thing as a Sinhala name. The so-called Para-Sinhala, Para-Tamils all came from their Native Land India South, Bihar, etc. The origins of the language is also Indian, just like Tamil. Sinhala has about 40% Tamil words, the Sinhala are genetically similar to Tamils and South Indians, as proven by the DNA.

Sinhala has over 1,600 words of Portuguese Origin.

Just because you copy somebody, it does not make it yours.

In Sri Lanka, Amarasiri is a common Sinhala name and in India there is no such name commonly used. If the name ‘Amarasiri’ which has a clear meaning in Sinhala is not Sinhala, then under your definition, ‘Cameron’ is not English, ‘Ghandi’ is not Indian, ‘Putin’ is not Russian etc etc – what trivial crap is this.
Abusing and ridiculing others is a sign of ones inferiority complex, and this is not the way to intelligently debate any issue.
Also, the Sinhala language is a much older language than Portuguese, but certainly have words from the Portuguese language, since they were occupying maritime provinces of Sri Lanka for quite a long period and some of them even remained in Sri Lanka. All developed languages in the world have words borrowed from other languages proving interaction between those communities and the maturity and wisdom of such societies to borrow a word already available from another language, rather than aimlessly create a new word. I do not wish to debate this trivia anymore.

Diogened, This man and few extremist muslims trying to show the world that this is a 65 year old Mosque. It is a blatant lie. This is only a prayer station erected by muslims after the Dambulla economic center built. The muslims who comes to Dambulla with their products from far away places use this prayer station to pray.

And the Minister Janaka Bandara who against Dambulla Chief Prelate Inamaluwe Sri Sumangala Thero because thero does not allow to do mischievous things to henchmen of minister the way Minister wants to do, such as giving liquor permits etc, use this incident to take revenge from the monk. Now he does not allow to complete the Dambulla Sacred area plan even President promise to complete it during this year . Minister Janaka recently said that the prayer station there when he was in his father’s testicles. I said it because now the Minister is 61 years old.

My dear the Monk said it was decalred a Pooja Boomi in 1982 by the then minister R Premadasa. But the Gazette does not say to it. The gazette which i saw reads a different thing that is tiidentify the areas to be declared as Sacred city.

So there has been this mosque, according to sinhala lady i saw giving replies to Haaamaduruwo at the time of the first agitation. When this lady said so Nayaka Hamaduruwo who always advocates that no one is above the law, gooing above the law for him self reprimanded the lady for having said so. Which i saw on a tv

The Native Land of native Veddha is scared land. It has the sacred land for over 30,000 years.

The Para-Sinhala, and Para-Tamils, the illegals, need to get to their sacred Native India where Buddha was born and reached his Dhamma, if they cannot in an egalitarian manner in keeping with the Native Vedda culture.

      Amarasiri,

even if the dog is a dog, you need to address the country’s president officially as “his excellency”.

It is unfortunate that not many are still far from the facts and figures of the current situation.

Please listen on all the youtube videos of the serie.

I consider Aperera as a good educated cultured UNP MP. These kind of candidates are exemplary to the ruling coalition ( I never supported party politics in the country, but today, I respect the views of JVPers and UNPers )

In the US, they do. They call the top dog, Mr. President.

For somebody who does not follow the constitution, MaRa does not follow the rule of law, this Excellency is a Travesty of Justice and Etiquette. Even the President of the US, a Superpower, is not addressed that way.

Mr Salley, Can you produce documentary evidence to prove your claim that there was a 65 year old mosque close to the Dambulla Buddhist temple? Why not come out with the survey plan of the land, Title deeds and the building plan etc? Are we to believe that the incumbent priest of the Buddhist temple 65 years ago was a Moslem, eh?

Are you out of your mind writing a letter to a Criminal addressing him as Your Excellency. He doesn’t understand the meaning of it. Try writing to the following who are giving him cosy comfort all leaders of fellow Muslim Countries.

    1) Pakistan
    2) Iran
    3) Saudi Arabia
    4) Bangladesh
    5) Malaysia

and there are a few more.

If you write to them you might have some results.

Rescuing the country from a die hard criminal like Prabakaran, so that you and I could enjoy peace dividends, does not make the President a criminal, but makes you an ungrateful opportunist. The Muslim countries mentioned by you have their own intelligence personnel and obviously they know the truth. So don’t waste your breath.

I take it that you are also a Muslim Extremist dont worry Modi & Iron Lady will sort you out and they will get rid of STATE TERRORISM and all Sri Lankan can live in PEACE and you will have a PIECE of the Dividend.

Modi is not an anti Muslim leader. He is only a strong devout Hindu who would not tolerate anyone encroaching into Hindu sacred areas, whether it be Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Evangelist or Born again. You might call him an extremist but not an enemy of any religious group.

All our caves had been donated to Monks (real ones of course) by Trade Guild of South India. According to my Elders the trade guild includes the following:

          Ayyavole,
          Ainnuruvar,
          Vira Balanju,
          vira banajigaru,
          vira balanjya,
          vira Valanjiyar,
          vira balija,
          Nanadesi,
          Five Hundred Lords of Ayyavolu,
          Anjuvannam guild,
          Sankarappadi guild
          Saliya Nagarattar guild
          Manigramam,
          Manigramam guild
          Nakara guild
          Mummuridandas

It appears that some of the caves were donated by Parumaka and in one charitable act towards wandering forest monks a captain of ship (navigator from South India) donated a cave to a group of monks.

Therefore all our caves had been taken over by kallathonies and distributed among the monks. Now we do not dwell in caves but in villages, jungles, towns, ….

Do you have any other question for my Elders?

They would be much happier to educate you. They believe its difficult but doable.

Its time for Muslims, Hindus, Christians and even Buddhists to get together and encircle the Mosque to protect it from destruction. A sathagraha similar to what Gandhi did in India should be organized. This should be a round the clock protest and people should take turns to maintain continuous encircling. Invite all the local and international press to monitor this. If a Mosque which has been in existence for 65 years has to be demolished, then before that all the Buddhist places of worship that have come into existence after this mosque was built should be destroyed before demolishing this Mosque. Only the places of worship which got proper approval should exist.

    Dear Mr. Salley,
HE the President has taken to social media for a Q&A session. why not pose your questions to the twit on Twitter and question him as to why he has failed on his promises, assurance and security to protect your mosques, holy scripture and community. As a lay Buddhist, I sympathized with your cause, as I do with all other minorities who are at the receiving end. We, the true Buddhists demand an end to this injustice.

Besides, Mr. Salley, why do you waste your time in a futile exercise to write, explain and educate a twit who is a betrayer of Buddhism and our Lord Buddha. Why do you sacrifice your life by trying to argue your case to an ignorant moron and a born thug who is politically polarizing the country for his survival. The motive to fuel sectarian violence is to ethnically cleanse minorities that are in opposition to their despotic rule or terror. Another hidden motive is to gerrymander the voting demographic. This is why the State sponsor Buddhist terrorism by recruiting dregs that masquerade as Buddhist monks with the aim of ethnically cleansing those who oppose the regime. By doing so, the state has made a mockery of our true Buddhist faith. This Mr. Sally is the state of “ADHARMAYA”. It is the beginning of our end. Surely Mr. Salley, if you are knowledgeable of your own gospel that is divine word, is this not a coming sign of the end of days?

Sinhala-Buddhist relationship 10 centuries??? But, except for a few
stranded Arabs of a few dozens, most of our Muslims are descendants of
Muslims from the littoral coast of the present Tamil Nadu. They came
about 200 years ago. Does lying come naturally to Sally and his people?

As to the Kattankudy Mosque massacre Muslims have now admitted they enraged the LTTE by acting as spies to the SL Army. The late Minister Ashraff, as Minister of Ports & Shipping, has brought in several Containers of modern arms and ammunition, initially to be used against the LTTE and, thereafter, for use by Pakistan for the latter plan to attack South Indian targets from our Coast. Very soon we will know the details of their “service to Pakistan” that resulted in the recent Bomb incident at the Central Railway Station in Chennai where a key ISI Agent (the Pakistani anti-Indian Spy network) – masquerading as a Visa officer in the Pak High Commission in Colombo – is named by Indian intelligence as using Sri Lankan Muslims for spying on key diplomatic and security-related institutions in Chennai. So who is Sally trying to fool?

This man, rejected by the Muslims of Colombo Central, has no place in Colombo. His dream of becoming Mayor of Colombo – either through the
Rajapakses or UNP by hook or crook – has not happened. Is he now a PC member from the Central Province?

    What a political leader?

“ISI Agent (the Pakistani anti-Indian Spy network) – masquerading as a Visa officer in the Pak High Commission in Colombo – is named by Indian intelligence as using Sri Lankan Muslims for spying on key diplomatic and security-related institutions in Chennai. So who is Sally trying to fool?”

What is Gota doing about it? He should have expelled the ISI officer from this island. This act of terrorism instigated by ISI from the shores of this island would be construed as an attack on a friendly “mother” country.

Sally is not trying to fool you but Gota is trying to fool all of us by being nice to everyone in the region.

      Dear Mr. Perera:
Please do a simple desktop research and you will find out for how long the Muslims have been living in Sri Lanka.

Yes, some Muslims did come from India during the time of the British rule. Of course, the British brought the Malays, Tamil estate workers. Ceylon Moors were there even before the Portuguses arrived in Sri Lanka in 1505.

Kamal needs to revisit his beliefs to be consistent with historical reality. The historical fact is almost the entire Muslim population came from South India in recent centuries – as I noted earlier. Their names and mother tongue give their current false claim away. The names are not Arabic or Maghrebi names although there were some comic efforts to spell names like Bad-iu-din and other in recent times. This is done to gain an Arabic flavour since the post-1973 period when the Arabs became super-rich by sending oil prices to criminal levels. Prior to WW2 local Muslims identified with the Turks, who were in power in West Asia then. Local Muslim men until now wore the Turkish Cap. With Turkey’s decline, our Muslim men have given up the Turkish Toppiya. Now there is an effort by present day Muslims to write their names similar to Arabic names – something which the Pakistanis have resorted in recent decades.

Look at the peculiar Bedouin head-dress of some of the present Muslim priests – Maulavis. In about 200 years descendents of present Muslims may claim they came wholly from Arabia. Don’t be mislead by “historians” like Lorna Dewaraja, who has a propensity to distort the history of Tamils in Sri Lanka although, the Sinhala lady, carries a Tamil name. As someone wryly remarked some historians have a habit of saying various things once they are feted and fed on a diet of Buriyani and Wattalappam.

There certainly were a smaller number of Muslims shipwrecked and here for purposes of trade-wind commerce who have been here longer but they were no more than a few dozens. Both categories took local wives here but were careful to convert the Sinhala women to Islam.

BTW, It was not the British who brought the Malays but the Dutch.

      A.D.J. Perera,

Please don’t write Bull shit. Azath Sally and all of us are fighting for Justice, human rights and democrazy. Nothing else.

Who created BBS and Gnanasara. Where was BBS when LTTE VP murdered lorry loads of Buddhist Samaneras in Aranthalawa and bombed Dalada Maligawa.

Who went to Bahrain to get the highest Khalifa award from the King of Bahrain.

      http://www.hirunews.lk/goldfmnews/82165/highest-honour-bahrain-conferred-to-president-mahinda-rajapakse

Can Mr. Perera find where BBS, Rawaya and Rawana Balaya got all these super luxury SUVs and their drivers and Petrol and their entourage where ever they travel. How did BBS vandalized 284 Muslim churches and 178 Christian churches in a single year. Who is behind BBS.

Can Mr.Perera find how many Land deeds Pres.Rajapakse has given to Buddhist Temples. Also how many Buildings, Viharas, Buddha statutes, Pansalas, Dagobas, etc, etc, President Rajapakse build to spread Buddhism and how much they cost.

How about all the scholarships, foreign travel and how much it cost to maintain Buddhist Pansalas throughout the world.

Who authorized money to Pres.Rajapakse to build a Buddhist University, Meditation center and living complexes in Bodh Gaya India. How much is Pres.Rajapakses annual budget allocation for Buddhism who now drive super luxury Mercedes Benz cars and other SUVs.

Can you describe a single contribution Pres.Rajapakse given to any other Religions in Sri Lanka…….. None.

Remember both you or Pres.Rajapakse cannot fool all the people all the time. You no longer can hoodwink the minorities in Sri Lanka.

Yes not only Azath Salley but every oppressed citizon should go to UNHRC if Pres.Rajapakse cannot resolve their Grievences.

    Mr Sally,
The so-called mosque in Dambulla that you’re talking about is no mosque. It’s a tin shed. True, Muslim traders had used it as a mere meeting place for a long time. The fact that it didn’t have minerates is a good enough proof to show that the tin roofed structure is no mosque.

Muslims follow the Koran to the letter. In ‘taqiyya and kitman’ Koran tells you Muslims when and how to lie to non-Muslims to advance the cause Islam (16:106 and 3:28 and etc). Following that line, Muslim traders befriended the chief incumbent of the historic Dambulla Rajamahavihara, misguided him and got his permission to use a tin shed located within the reserved sacred area of the temple as a meeting place for Muslim traders. It is clear that Muslim traders hid their true intensions from Viharadhipathi when they first got his approval.

When the present Viharadhipathi realized Muslims have tricked his predecessor, and the tin shed is quietly being used as a Mosque, he simply asked them to relocate it to a suitable place. True to form, Muslims claimed the tin shed is a mosque and refused to relocate it. Now we can see here how Sally is carrying it forward.

Muslims do not let a non-Muslim near Mecca where their sacred Kabba is located. So, if Muslims are fair, they should not have started their mosque in a Buddhist sacred area which is much older than the religion of Islam in the first place.

I shall add further comment or two later to counter Sally’s various other bogus claims.

The BBS now have the bit between their teeth and will not stop still they force Islam to be practiced behind closed doors in this blessed land. Their avowed targets are NO more minarets, NO more halal, NO more meat trading, NO hijab and traditional Islam dress, NO muezzin calls to prayer, NO employing of Sinhala girls, No under age marriages, NO more four wives, and even NO sunneth.

          Banda,

What I say is when President Rajapakse hands over endless Land deeds to Buddhist Monks without any reference or for any use, what happens when a muslim build a Mosque where their community gather five times a day to pray.

How come Sri Lanka build Buddhist Temples all over the world. Go to USA, UK, Itally,France, Canada,Germany, Australia,New Zeland, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Japan, India and many more. All these countries have Sri Lankan Buddhist Temples run by our Buddhist monks.
In many of these countries they have more than ten Sri Lankan Buddhist temples in different states.

Therefore my question is if Sri Lanka could build any number of Buddhist Temples in which ever country they wish, why can’t Muslims or Chrictian bbuild their churches in Sri Lanka where their communities live and gather.

Also they say closer to 450 Buddhist temples are closed in Sri Lanka due to shortage in Buddhist monks. If so why don’t they make a priority to increase their clergy. Isn’t 10,000 buddhist temples enugh for people to go, when there’s only 5,000 left for all other religions.

People don’t care as to how many Buddhist temples, Dagobas, monuments, Buddha Statutes, etc, etc, you build either in Sri Lanka or in other countries. But why you interfere in other peoples affairs. Everybody has all the rights to select and worship his religion and nobody can stop it.

Why you have one Law for your self and another for others….

          Please answer.

          • 1
            2

Saman asked, “why can’t Muslims or Chrictian bbuild their churches in Sri Lanka where their communities live and gather”

Today, Muslims live practically everywhere in Sri Lanka. In Kahahena where I was born and bred, there was just one Muslim shop but no Muslim lived there in the 60s. But today there is a mosque with a minerate and a hooter in every village with about 500 Muslims. Whenever Muslim numbers reach 100, they start a prayer hut and when that number exceeds 500 they start building a mosque. I have noticed this trend everywhere. On that basis, I estimate there are at least 4,000 mosques in Sri Lanka for 9.72 % Muslims and increasing daily.

To keep up with that ratio, 70.3% Buddhists must have at least 28,000 temples. Even with our 2500 year history and ancient temples, Sinhala Buddhists do not have that many temples in the country.

Another point, according to 2011 census, there are 3% more Hindus in Sri Lanka than Muslims. But they have less Hindus kovils than Muslim mosques. In Kathankoody there are more than 64 Muslim mosques within a one kilometre area. They are building more as if that is not enough.

Pity, Muslim Saman does not know that Sri Lankan Buddhist Temples in USA, UK, Italy, France, etc are patronised more by locals in those countries than expat Sinhala community to practice Vipassana meditation. Go to Singapore and Malaysia or Japan you can see the trend.

Now about the law in Sri Lanka. Article 9 of Sri Lanka constitution says it gives Buddhism the foremost place and accordingly it shall be the duty of the State to protect and foster the Buddha Sasana. Article 10 says every person is entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including the freedom to have or to adopt a religion or belief of his choice. It doesn’t allow unlimited building of mosques.

My question to you is which Muslim country (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt etc) allow Christian, Buddhists and Hindu to build their churches or temples or kovils in significant numbers like Sri Lanka allows Muslim to build their mosques?

            • 2
              1

              Banda,

All I could say is that you are another Buddhist Sinhala racist. Nothing more.
I do not condone any type of Racism, either Muslim, Tamil or Sinhala. LTTE VP was one of them.

The only fear you guys have is loosing your Market share to Muslims and Christians and pure Jealousy.

The problem is the Buddhists visit Temples only once a month, where’s Muslims visit five times a day.

Also Muslims are born Businessmen and they do not Drink liquor nor take drugs not smoke. That’s why they are rich and live happily.

But you Buddhists drink all kinds of Liquor and take drugs and also smoke.

That’s why you cannot bring up many healthy children like Muslims. Your men are impotant and your brains go crazy like BBS Gnanasara, due to taking excessive liquor and drugs. That’s why your women are frustrated and unhappy. Go to any Prison and witness yourdelf. Eat healthy food and exercise daily.

First get rid of Drugs, Liquor,Ethenol, Kasippu and Cocain and if you do that, everything will turn out for good. Your BBS Gnanasara does not teach these to you.

              Good luck.

Is Saman suggesting because Muslims pray 5 times a day they need to go to 5 different mosques – and hence the need for the unusually large number of mosques in the country.

It is a calculated lie to say Muslims do not drink, take drugs or smoke. It is more accurate to say less Muslims drink or smoke. As to drugs the poor amongst them in the city were the first to get into the habit of drugs. For a long time Muslims were the leading drug-traffickers in the country until recently when politically-assisted drug gangs among the Sinhalese got into the act. Some key drug traffickers in the country are Muslims within Govt ranks is common knowledge. Some of the heaviest gamblers in the city are from the Muslim side, including the wife of a city VIP politician as reported in the media recently.

Many Western journalists have confirmed when they go out to interview Arab political leaders they are hosted to premium liquor kept surreptitiously in their palaces. Libya’s Gaddaffi was heavily into drugs and liquor. Ex-President Harshad of Bangladesh was caught with Crystal liquor glass valued at US$350,000 in his home. Some leading social clubs in Colombo, where drinking is the main draw, have/had as Presidents men from the Muslim community.

Islamic’s comprise 9% of the the total population have about 2500 mosques. You compare the above figures and think about seriously before writing in the future.

SAMAN, What Monk Gnansara said is true. Whole North and East was a butchery once and now it is an animal sanctuary where still bloody tiger’s roaming around. And now it seems north and east going to be a Camel’s habitat too. Camel’s very cunningly grew rapidly without being seen. But Camel’s must understand their limits. Or otherwise the camel’s become a victim of Tiger’s and Lion’s.

          Noel Jones,

If you read the history, specially Christian history you will see how then ruling Kings used so many various methods to supress, murder and prosecute Christians by using very criminal methods including burning them alive.Hope you saw Ben hur Film.

          Here’s the film
          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12miZEqp0yU

Every time they tried to supress Christians, the more the Christianity spread across Europe, ME, Africa and Asia.

Therefore suppression and intimidation will never work to suppress another religion, freedom, justice, and liberty of Mankind. Infact it work to the opposite.

Even communist Soviet Russia and China tried it for so many years, but failed.

Therefore the only way to solve religious problems are to just leave them alone. Even saudi queen now drives her car and go without hijab when she goes to West.

Muslim women in Sri Lanka are becomming more social now.except very few poor women who have returned from ME.

Look at Iranian,Egyptian, Turkish and Lebanon women. They are more social than our Sinhala or Burgher women. Hope you have seen Belly dancing. You cannot beat Belly dancing and cabaret to any other dance in the world. Here’s few clips.

Hope you got a taste of What is behind the covered Veil.

Remember World always change with time and you only need little patience. After all anything anybody builds such as Houses, Industry, Business,, knowledge, children and education in Sri Lanka are all assets to our country and to our Government, irrespective of from which race or religion they come from.

If Saudi give 50 Million Dollars to our Muslim brothers to build houses or mosques or anything else, those houses and mosques are assets to our country.Same with other stuff.

Also when Muslims or Christians pray, they also pray for our country also. That’s why you see many successful Muslim, Hindu and Christian Businessmen apart from Buddhists.

Remember it is God who Judge and not the Man. God has the final verdict and not the man.

Remember it is Man who propose, but it is God who dispose.

Hope you understand and Please use your basic Knowledge.

All reports say there was NO such mosque but a temporary shed used by Muslims for shelter from the elements, when they are engaged in customary praying.

Whether the ‘mosque’ referred to is fact or fiction could be easily established if Mr Salley or any person could publish an authentic PHOTO of the so called mosque, and also whether there is a title deed for ownership.
After all, a “PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS” and a photo of the mosque would show whether it is real or just anti-Buddhist propaganda, which is the fashion of the day.

Banda you need to read quran completely, if you do so you will embrace Islam for sure.

Furthermore, you are demolishing mosques where we muslims using the mosque for 5 times prayer, but you people have larger temples but Buddhists go for prayers only once in a month and that too selected crowed, others booze on that day using the liquor they purchased day before poyaday.

Further, if you take unauthorized structure its Buddhist have built most unauthorized structures with statues of Buddha, the biggest question is why they are building status near an temple too, I hope they are so reluctant or so lazy to walk to temple and make your prayer.

if you are true Buddhist first read and know your religion and know 5 “pansil” meaning then read other scriptures.

In my opinion every one should first read and understand their religion before making comments about other religion.

It is not a secret for you to know who the decision maker in this type acts to mete out the needs of BUddhist extremists in the country.

The peace loving buddhists are aware now the buddhism flourishing in the country as a symbol due to non Buddhists practising their religion regularly unlike the buddhist philosophy.

Earlier when the call for prayer was made through loudspeakers from the misques the buddhist could not tolerate it. Thanks to it now every teple why even at Buddhist shrines they play the records of pirith daily before the call for prayer at mosques. Yet it goes for about one hour.

The funniest part is after this calll Muslims go to mosque early in the morning daily but in the temples the Snaga play the record and can have a nap again of no use religious wise. This is a sign of ridiculing the buddhism because the Lord buddha has never preached sermons to air pirith like this. What our Lord Buddha has preached is to follow his path.

Further erecting of buddha statues at every street corner is also result of people of other religious faith practice their rellegion regularly on fridays and sunday. But if you take a statue at a street corner who is there to venerate those statues. Persons with good minds feel shy to venerate at such places. But if we want such a shrine to flourish we must allow muslims to put up their place of worship by the side. When Muslims visit those mosques five time a day the bloods of Sinhalese will get ignited.

In time to come, as we expect a general election we will have to cope up with this type of religious disharmony which will invarioubly help all racists political leaders to cheet the innocent civilians of the country and to make them forget the economic and other hardships.

    WELL DONE SRI LANKAN POLITICS

Mosque is an Anglification of the word Masjid, which means place of prostration or Sajada. Any Muslim place of worship where people prostrate is thus a masjid, whether it is a grand building or tin shed, with or without minarets. Enough of this rubbish, trying to get away by calling it a “prayer station”.

    • 0
      1

The word entered English from a French word which probably derived from Italian moschea, a variant of Italian moscheta, from either Armenian մզկիթ (mzkiṭ) or Greek μασγίδιον (masgídion) or Spanish mesquite.

The Land without Muslims from ‘the Jewish press’.

Most Japanese have no religion, but their cultural values are interrelated to Shinto and Buddhist customs. Japanese consider all Muslims are fundamentalists and therefore look down upon them as jihad backers and aim to avoid them.

Japan try to keep a very low profile on Muslims at all levels. Senior political figures of Islamic countries visiting Japan or Japanese leaders visiting Muslim countries are rare occurrences. Japan do import oil from Muslim countries and export its industrial produce to them. Japan tries to limit their relationship with Islamic countries.

Japanese companies that seek foreign workers emphasize that they are not interested in Muslim workers. Even if a Muslim enters Japan to work he will find it very difficult to find living accommodation. Japanese people do not want Muslims in their neighbourhood. They’ll not find halal food in the supermarkets. Official policy of Japan is not to give citizenship or even permanent residency to Muslims. The public and the officials, and workers and the employers are united against Muslim immigration. Unlike in Sri Lanka, there are no “human rights” organizations in Japan to complain about them.

Population in Japan is 127 million, but only ten thousand of them are Muslims. In Tokyo there is only one imam. It is almost impossible to set up mosques and Muslim schools there. If a Japanese woman marries a Muslim, she will be considered an outcast. Because of such the negative attitude towards Islam and Islamic few Muslims who live in Japan keep a very low profile.

Japan is teaching the world how to keep terrorists and terrorism out.

Banda has garnished his comment with much personal slant. The truth is that officially – Japanese government organisations – do not have or keep any statistics on religion. Banda’s estimation of 10,000 Muslims must refer to ethnic Japanese as the estimated Muslim community in Japan is about 100,000. If Banda has travelled about in Japan he would surely have come across the Kobe Mosque. As for Trade, you, Banda, will find that, for example, about 15% of Saudi Arabia exports are to Japan – not all of them Dates. And poor Banda has not heard of JETRO and their Arab initiatives. There is more to tell – without bias; yammu Bando Wesak balanda!
