Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faiszer Musthapha declared that he will not dance to the tunes of the UPFA General Secretary, and will hold the Local Government elections only by following necessary procedure.

“I can’t fast-track an election just because the party secretary wants me to. I have told this to him clearly. The party secretary is only responsible to the party, but I am responsible to the entire country,” last night Musthapha told a media conference in Colombo.
He went on to add that he should be given the freedom to conduct the election by following proper procedure.
Amidst protests led by the joint opposition which has been demanding that the government hold the Local Government elections, Musthapha claimed that it was important for the delimitation, instead of rushing for elections.
However, the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) has requested the Government to hold elections to local councils where delimitation issues had been sorted out, citing that out of the 336 local councils, some 200 had no issues about delimitation.
PAFFREL said that if the government was genuine about good governance, then instead of delaying the elections, it should conduct the elections immediately.

This man’s shady behaviour and his arrogance is the biggest threat to Sri Lanka and our democracy today. As a former bureaucrat in the Industry ministry ruled by this man (in the Rajapakse uniform then) I know a few details.
Mustapha’s history in going against Rajapakse was done with big ethnic plans. He was the last man to defect to Yahapalana fraud. He took time becase he worked on his father’s instructions, to organise payments in Singapore for all the defectors who were going and coming to Singapore.
His father (earlier Chandrika’s High Commissioner to Britain) organised the MI6 involvement in the yahapalana conspiracy. After organising all the payments to SLFP defectors through Razeen Sally (then in Singapore, EU agent) he went last to tidy up.
He gave up the tourism ministry and got local government and became Sirisena’s Legal Advisor to achieve big plans of meddling with the electoral system. He advised Sirisena on how to appoint those who lost elections to parliament under the national list.
Mustapha is now becoming a law unto himself and his arrogance rigs alarm bells.
A big defeat for the Yahaplana gang in the local government elections, whenever it is held, will teach this treacherous man a lesson.

He further said that the Diaspora is srtriving to to kill Rarapaksa brothers who defeated the Tamil Tigers.
And he got an assurance from Kira that that Rajapksas security will not be compromised, despite the Defence. Minister,s attempts to down grade it.
Dr Mervyn categorically stated the Rakapksas are the only leaders with a back bone to defeat the Tamil terrorists.
And he will never allow anyone to harm the Rajapksas.
I kind a lstaring to like dr Mervyn for his honest and forthright comments unlike the shit SLFPers who sold their souls for 25 pieces of Silver from Singapore.

The rumor in Colombo is that Dubai Account that was supposedly belonged to Namal (Yahapalana government made a big noise on that saying that the arrest of Namal was imminent)…belongs to this Minister……that is why now no noise from the yahapalana government on Dubai Account. This guy screwed MR with all wrong legal and political advice. He is the one who told MR to get rid-off chief Justice Bandaranayake and he will sort out matters with lawyers and get them on MR’s side…this guy is a useless scumbag…MR should be hit with a 2’ x 2’ pole for taking advice from stupid guys like this…hope he learnt his lesson hard…Now, the Yahapalana government got screwed right royally again by broadcasting about Panama papers and indirectly linking MR to the list.
