The next thing to do is to clean the stables – slowly but surely –
expose them but not take revenge, and extend a hand of friendship and peace to all communities, to wipe away the hurt and hardship they were endured to suffer under the last regime, and to unite the country to think
as Sri Lankans first & anything else later.
    Good luck Sri Lanka/Sri Lankans!

One of the most important task for the new Maithree Government is to change the present Anti-minority racist/communal culture in Sri Lanka and make it a true muti-cultural united secular Sri Lankan society where the minorities are treated as equal citizens of the country and not as aliens.

Reminds 8 March of 1815 when Sri Lanka last lost independence.

The first statement of Sira after taking oath was to stay “non-aligned”, his way of saying all the way with USA. He is obliged because they conspired the regime change project. the witch might want British influence too.

So we will be well and truly aligned with colonisers (for a short while anyway).

It is an abhomination that Ranil (Konduless) W. who lost 26 elections in succession has entered Temple Trees through the back door.

Is this democracy? A man rejected continuously by the people steals a top job.

I don’t want a bar of this Demuckracy thing any more.

water water every where- over 80% and on the rise just there.

Good luck to the northern village to see sense soon than later because land is in demand and cannot be commanded clandestinely for ever. take whats on the table and dont look back just move forward.

The President Mohamed Nasheed has said he plans to set aside some of the $1 billion a year it receives from tourism to buy a new homeland. He has approached the government of Sri Lanka, among others, and is said to have received a favorable reception.

    Maithree,

Talk to your party members and unite all the UPFA together, Of course they will dump Mahinda now, what is the use of him anymore?
You need strong Parliament back up. There are lot of decent people in PA.
Get all the support you need,
It is great that you implement thing with Ranil in true national government.

    You are the elected president,
Do not let anybody isolate you,
    People trusted you.
Executive presidency is only a powerless title when you do not have the support of the parliament.

Create Jobs, Not benefits, Make people work for the betterment of the country!
Your promises of benefits are too good to be true, Where do you plan to get money for them?

Maybe it is time to implement a credible tax system where rich people and companies cannot escape?

We do not need a country that go after a developed world with a begging bowl?

May triple gems bless you for your journey! Do not ever forget how Mahinda was sent home? History repeats most of the time.

With this, I hope and pray dawn a new era in SL. Together, this duo can sort out most of the common vexed issues. With the adjective common comes the additional responsibility, that is solving the vexed common problems. Do not let the minority voters to become disillusion yet again, only what they request is implementation of a solution which is provided in the constitution. To bluff it as an approach of little-now and more-later leading for Tamil Eelam will not make you any different than MR’s Govt. Even the voters of MR were not against it. Hope you both will remembered for restoring peace to this county if you succeed and it is we all know harder than winning the war. I am very optimistic that it will happened.

As citizen who is categorized as being a minority citizen of Srilanka I do not feel like a minority any more. I am intrigued of the result of this election and will be skeptical of the future. I will stop addressing my self to be a minority but still would be a critic of what the new leader will do. I also hope that the CT will follow to be a good reporter of fax and regardless of which political party rules. God bless this country and hope for the best future.

Beginning of the End !!! in 100 days Sinhalese will have to pay entry fee to go to Jaffna same like in 2002, Eastern province will have a Prime Minister instead of Chief Minister, all the mean NGO’s will have a field days in SL and with all these spineless traitors in power SL will be the playground of those nasty countries notorious for destroying nations in a democratic way. After Arab Spring now Asian spring is on the cards !!!

We all should thank to the our Tamil and Muslim relatives for support us to get rid of one of the worst ruler and his corrupted regime in our history. the separatist label now over and I think MR has taken that with him.Gotabaya and BBS and all thugs need justice too. We should never revenge. But if they have done something wrong we have to bring them to rule of law. We need a dialog, not revenge. We will protect them all and all of our people. We are a one nation. That is Sri Lankan nation! What else we want …peace and stability under democratic governance. We love you all!

    Dear Mr Maithripala and ranil,
In you 100days you havent mention about the coal mafia. You need to investigate this.
You need to implement two term limit to the president/prime minister who ever may be with each max 4 years.
You havent mention anything about promoting enviomental friendly green energy such as solar or wind power.
You havent promote electic vehicles which is very suitable for sri lanka.
You need to make sure the tenders that are offered by the government should go through the tender proceeders.I have seen minsters and chairmens getting paid under the table to offer tenders.
You have mention anything about NOISE POLLUTION which is a major problem of Sri Lanka. You need to bring in laws to protec residentioal neighbor hooods from noise pollution cuase by vendors, car garages and other industries.
You need to be concern about Parking issues which is a major problem in sri lanka.

Also please do something about the stray dogs and cats which are in the public streets.

    Dear Mr.Sirisena,
Congradulations. Good piece of work by you all.well done.
I am going to remind you, very crucial statement you made, that you said before the election you are a follower of Mahathma Ghandhi and Nelson Mandella. I know that you are well read and broad minded pragmatic left inclined person. But again I request you to analyse the history how Mahathma Gandhi and Nelson Mandella behaved after winning their ultimate election victory.
I am not going to advise you a long but remember these few words,
    1. Refrain from cheap party politics such as acapturing the SLFP head quarters as you are now not a mere politician , you are a historic figure for democracy. So political work and capturing party powers needs to be done by others(Mrs.B and Dr.Rajitha)
2.Stablish immediately law and order ,independent juidiciary, don’t try to punish Rajapakshas and others under the Jungle law. They should be prosecuted if any under the valid law ,trasparent manner , for genuine reasons.( There may be lots of such things)
    3. Remember don’t fall into Mrs B’s wrong advises.Build up a legitimate advisory committee which can address on national issues.
4.Remember Rajapakshas will attack back you whenever they get the chance. So try to win the people and be a Nelson Mandella in Sri Lanka , so you are protected by the peoples power ,not by arms forces or by cluster of politicians.
    5. Don’t breach the security protocols , still enemies chasing behind you.
    I wish you great future.
If you safeguard the policies ,it will safeguard you ,SIR.(Dhammo Bawe Rakathi Dhamma Chari)

It is great that Mr Maithripala Sirisena has won the Presidential election which we hope he will extend a hand of friendship to all the Citizens of Sri Lanka no matter what race or religion they may be and bring peace to all communities, wipe away all hate and hardship they were made to suffer under the Rajapaksa regime by uniting the country as one people one nation. Get rid of all the rogue Politicians and clean wipe the Parliament and bring back law and order. As we understand Mr Ranil Wickermesinghe has been sworn in as the Prime Minister and I am sure all decent Sri Lankans would like to see General Sarath Foneska appointed as the Defence Secretary of the Country which he deserve the title. I wish all the New leaders a clean Governance of Sri Lanka.

Sira becoming Prez is legit, although the entire Sinhala Buddhist rural poor which is the great majority didn’t okay it.

Sira abandoned them to get this Presidency.

Who gave the Okay for Ranil to become the PM?.

One would have thought the PM in is elected from the party, which has the majority of members in Parliament.

And the SLFP which represents the great majority who didn’t vote for Sirisena still holds over 160 seat in Parliament.

They have their own PM .

    Has he resigned or sacked.?

Even if the new President has been shoehorned in to UNP, Sira still has less than 50 in numbers, including the two Sinhala Buddhist representatives in the form of Champika, and Ven Rathne.

Will our new SR have two PMs going forward?…

      K.A Sumanasekera

“Who gave the Okay for Ranil to become the PM?.”

It is the Vellala, Catholic and Sinhala/Buddhist elected president Maithiri who appointed Ranil as the Prime Minister under the laws of the constitution.

According to the article “43 (3) The President shall appoint as Prime Minister the Member of Parliament who in his opinion is most likely to command the confidence
of Parliament.” It does not state that he must be elected from the party who has the majority in the parliament.

Welcome and Cheers to the New Leader of Mother Sri Lanka. All communities are happy sepcially the minority. Get down all the perpetrators and culprits and book them to courts with judges of wisdom and not corrupt judges.
Also immediately remove the Dirty PIG from Lake House, the dirty old boy of STC.

Mahinda and his clan are gone. Hope they are gone for good.

However most of his henchmen are still around and wielding a lot of clout with huge amounts of ill gained money. They will be out there causing huge mischief.

It is will be hell of a tough job that Maithree and Ranil have undertaken. First phase was a resounding success. Ousting the MARA Mafia was a job well done. Now the hard slog begins.

I hope AKD who did a wonderful job galvanising the Sinhala Rural Poor is given due recognition. At times his was the lonely but strong dissenting voice in the parliament – a brave soul who was unafraid to criticize King Kong and his cronies.

I wish all those in the new government success and peace to all communities in Sri Lanka.
