Namal Senasinghe, the elder brother of Deputy Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe has claimed that President Maithripala Sirisena has slept on his bed.
Senasinghe, who shot to limelight today after he abused a diner, Shaminda Herat at a star class restaurant over the weekend said in response to the video uploaded by Herat, “What this idiot did not know was Maithripala Sirisena used my Kandy house for his campaign. He slept on my bed.” According to Senasinghe, Herat had been bragging about Sirisena.
Namal Senasinghe, a doctor by profession also went on to further criticize the minorities in the country by trying to justify his comments where he told Herat that he (Senasinghe) was a Sinhala Buddhist and Sri Lanka was a Sinhala Buddhist nation, in spite of Senasinghe himself living in England for some 20 years. It is believed Senasinghe had assumed Herat was a Muslim as he was sporting a beard.
“The people who are criticizing this are from a certain community, and they cannot swallow the fact that this is a Sinhala Buddhist country. Wake up. These guys cannot enter the west now. So swallow the pride and live in harmony in Sri Lanka,” Senasinghe said in response to the video after members of the public including Sinhalese, Muslims and Tamils took to social media to protest against Senasinghe’s racist utterance. In particular Muslims took on Senasinghe, which resulted in him continuing to carry out his tirade against the community.
However, just hours after making various comments on Herat’s post, including where he even went on to claim that Herat was a criminal, Senasinghe appeared to have deleted his comments.
Colombo Telegraph is in possession of print screens of Senasinghe’s comments. Senasinghe’s Facebook profile was deactivated and his response which was initially available on his official website was also deleted.

What is most appalling is that Sujeewa Senesinghe has not apologized for his brother’s pathetic behaviour. To us Namal is a non- entity. A racist to the very core and must be taken to task. He is compulsive ‘name dropper”. Namal, what does it matter to us the MS slept in your bed. Whilst you fled your country we are the ones who put MS in power. I find the latter is a bigger contribution than your silly bed.
This chap must be reported to the NHS for his racist behaviour.

Brites may feel that is how SINHLESE IN GENERAL treat their fellow minority folks.
I would not call this bugger with his Dr. Title. These men are no worth to the country that make every efforts to paint the picture positive to the world.
Earlier Meeharaka went amok for the last 10 years and left it as nothing is left to cover the debts nor loans. But now some lankens just being that arrogant – to leave the kind of labels ” THIS IS THE BUDDHIST COUNTRY” is a racial statement no doubt.
British govt should warn the bugger asking him to learn the basics if he should furhter stay in the UK. Basta

So pathetic how arguments are clinched in Sri Lanka, by claiming familiarity with politicians! :-) :-)

If he’s an Englishmen he should behave like one right? After all English did much more than direct racial abuse at Sri Lankans when they ruled us for 200 odd years. Sinhalese were close to 90% of the population when they signed the Kandyan treaty but were close to 75% when they left. If you also count the brainwashed black skinned Englishmen they left the true Sinhala percentile would be around 70%.
Seems Namal has learnt one or two from his adopted country.
/
Paul / July 12, 2016
When was Sri Lanka a Sinhalese Buddhist country only? The North East and the North west coast of the island has always been Tamil Hindu and ruled and occupied by Tamils until European colonisation. The Sinhalese presence in these areas is only very recent in the past 40-50 years do to state aided colonisation schemes to deliberately change the demography of these areas. Just because the British amalgamated the Eelam Tamil lands with the Sinhalese lands down south in 1833 and created a new colony called Ceylon making the Sinhalese a majority in the whole island and the Eelam Tamil nation which was a majority and is still a majority in their own lands a minority in the whole island, does not mean the island is a Sinhalese Buddhist land only. May be the west south and central parts but definitely not the north or east. That is Tamil Hindu.
This man had lived in Britain and should realise Great Britain in not an English land only. Only England belongs to the English but Scotland belongs to the Scottish and Wales belong the Welsh. What a stupid racist comment and then they wonder why the Tamils distrust Sinhalese as most of them are racist to the core like this man.
/

“..The North East and the North west coast of the island has always been Tamil Hindu and ruled and occupied by Tamils until European colonisation…”
Always?? I think you have got your history a bit wrong old chap. Jaffna kingdom hardly extended beyond the Jaffna peninsula. Or there would have been some archaelogical evidence to proove it.
/
paul / July 13, 2016
I think you have got your history wrong typical Sinhalese extremist. The Jaffna kingdom consisted of the entire northern province the Trincomalee district and the north west coast what is now Puttalam and Chilaw. The east has always been Tamils. At times parts of the east may have come under the benevolent loose control of the Kandyan kings many of whom were of Kalinga or Tamil Naicker origin, but still ruled by the local Tamil Vannimania chiefs. However these Tamils never had any objection to these Kalinga or Naicker origin kings of Kandy who loosely ruled them time to time, as to they saw them as Tamil Hindus, as these kings dealt with them in Tamil and patronised the Hindu religion practised in these area. Got it.
For your information there were no specific Sinhalese or Tamil kingdoms until the 13Th century onwards and all these so called Sinhalese kingdoms were largely ruled by kings from South Indian dyansties of largely Tamil origin. Prior to the 13th century all the kings were common to both people and none of these kings or qussens ever called themselves Aryan or Sinhalese as they were neither. They were Buddhist or Hindus from South Indian dynasties or Naga. The Naga were a Dravidian people who by the 2-3BC were fully assimilated into the Tamil identity.
Polonnaruwa was established by the Cholas and the Hindu and Buddhist ruins we see today at Polonnaruwa are a legacy the Cholas who ruled Lanka from 1003 A.D. to 1075 A.D. have bequeathed to us. In no other part of Lanka do we see such extensive ruins,as we see at Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka is heavily indebted to the Cholas for this gift. Your great king Prakramabahu was of Pandian Tamil origin and his so called statue is actually the statue of the great Tamil sage Agathiar the father of Tamil. Now Sinhalese extremist are trying to state that it is his statue. No one builds statues to themselves when they are alive.
North Ceylon was a flourishing settlement long before Vijaya was born”. In similar vein, are his remarks on the ancestral Hindu kovils of Ceylon, “Long before the arrival of Vijaya, there were in Lanka five recognized Iswerams of Siva, which claimed adoration and veneration of all India.
These were Thirukketheseeweram near Mantai (Mannar), Munneswram dominating Salawata (Chilaw), Thirukonesweram near the great bay of Kottiyar (Trincomalee). Nakulesweram, in close proximity to the Kankesanturai harbour and Chandresweram close to Hambantota harbour. The last mentioned kovil is unfortunately no more. It has gone to ruins due to lack of patronage and neglect. The situation of these temples close to ports, cannot be the result of accident or caprice but was probably determined by the concourse of a wealthy mercantile population whose religious wants called for attention”.
Apart from the above-mentioned kovils, there are, in the deep South, a shrire for Lord Murukan at Kathirkamam and a shrine for Lord Vishnu at Devi Nuwara from ancient days. Buddhists and Hindus visit these kovils daily for worship. Sinhalese still worship the ancient Tamil god Lord Murugan as their war god.
There are kovils from ancient days in Kandy, testifying to a high concentration of Hindus in the Central part of Lanka. The temple for Nath (Siva), according to H.W. Codrington, is over 600 years old. The other temples, being for Murukan, Vishnu and Goddess Pattini, Robert Knox was of the view that Maha Fsala Perahera in Kandy was celebrated from ancient times exclusively in honour of the Hindu deities. The Tooth Relic was taken in the Perahera for the first time during the reign of King Kirthi Sri Raja Singha at the request of the Siamese Monk Upali, to give a Buddhist touch to the festival. That practice was later stopped. These days only the empty casket is mounted on the elephant.
Around half the so called Kandyan chiefs signed the Kandyan convention in Tamil, including the ancestor of Mrs. Srimavo Banadarnaicke. Do not try to rewrite history to suit your extremist Sinhalese Buddhist agenda.
I hear that Sinhalese Buddhist extremist monks and goons with the protection of the racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces and Police are busy destroying the statues of the Hindu diety Ganesha in a certain strategic coastal Tamil Hindu village in Trincomallee and have planed a Bo tree and installed a huge Buddha statue in the same place where the destroyed Ganesha’s statue was and the Sinhalese goons police and the armed forces are guarding this newly planted Bo tree and Budda Statue. Hindu Lord Budda will be crying that he ahs been used for this blatant desecration of a Hindu shrine by Sinhalese Buddhist extremists and goons armed forces and police.

This is not acceptable behaviour from Namal. These guys expect Suddha to treat them on equal terms when they are on the other side of the world. However the same guys forgets everything the moment they land on our blessed land and become a “Sinhslese Buddist” thug changing their colours.
This hypocrite behaviour was seen from many and people who have gone overseas lived there and enjoyed multiculturism and equal rights in decent civilised societies forget everything the moment they land in their comfort zones in Sri Lanka and become extremists and chauvinists which is very sad. They should bring the good values to our unsettled land polarised and divided motherland which is a much needed deed.
I must ask Namal. How many times has he heard the notion ” We are the greatest nation in the world .We are great ENGLISH who ruled the whole world ” kind of rhetorics in his 20 years of stay in England. In my 16 years stay I have not heard things like that kind even once. However in Sri Lanka we are very insensitive of others and always trumpet Sinhala buddism disrwgarding and alienating others .Mind you in Sri Lanka Sinhals buddists are only 60 %.In England white English accounts to nearly 90 %.They never trumpet about Englishness but proudly say theirs is a multicultural country.Everone feels belonged and they contribute to the development of the country. We spread hatred and resentment only and going down the hill further and further. This is the sad reality and the educated people like Namal should set an example with his bwhqviour .He has done otherwise and later tried to do some damage controll but once the horse is gone no point closing the stable.

What matters is the fraction…
it is the nature of people – that they have various thoughts.
In every nation, there are racial minded ones there. I know this very well having lived onthe west for the last 3 decades. But what matters is the percentage.
Farade says, he cant stand anymore when get to hear only foreign langauges are spoken in Londoner tubes.
Germanys some men in Bavaria says – no meansyes to any refugees getting in here even if the funds are available.
Srilanken racists like the one above – will go on saying that the country belong to them – no means ot anyone else.. what should the tamils or muslim feel is for them just no value – that is how some buggers have been raised up by illfated Kandyan or Colombo sinahalese. I hated to see that the kind of divisions do exist in the country. This is the sad truth.
At least after long 30 year war we should see it back and try to correct us – if we the sinahalese have made mistakes, like the Germans once did – we need to correct them and allow feel we are all ones whose blood vessels are filled with HOMO SAPIEN blood.

Besides we know it well from our history, it is not… I am born sinhalaya having lived on the west for the last few decades I feel, we just need to be proud as healthy nationals. We must not brand us as this way. That can only make further divisions. FOr a period of 100 years at maximum why to labeel us than the own names. Own names given by parents identifying us is more than enough -and the education could bring you further prefixes… bu tthis particular man in the picture does not deserves to be called as ” DOCTOR” if he cant see in him first before droping the kind of racial thoughts.

The President ( Shows is a Humble man who would not care if King or beggar slept on a bed , he would not mind sleeping on it ) Deputy Minister Sujeewa serasinghe is not responsible for his brothers behaviour and there is absolutely no necessity for him to offer an apology to the public.
If we hold responsible the Politicians for every blunder their family member make , we will have to turn this country into a terrorist state and start killing and wiping out families indiscriminately for every crime a member of a family commits
Muslims must wake up and not become a continued scapegoat for political gimmicks.

There are also old girls from St Bridget colombo – most of them were so proud selves. This so called idiotic doctor is not a qualified doctor and would be considered a high school drop out in the US or Canada. He entered Medical college, probably a lower one in ranking in the undeveloped world, only upon completing his high school or literally GCE Advanced Level. If he goes to US, he can only clean toilets or wash dishes in restaurant until he goes to university again, completes an undergraduate degree and then goes to med school. The situation in the most developed world is not like England or Sri Lanka, the previous British colony where high school kids can enter medical college and become doctors to commit unpardonable crimes of medical negligence and get awat with impunity.

Dr. Gnana Sankaralingam / July 12, 2016
I have known Dr. Namal Senasinghe for more than ten years. His wife was a member of the committee of Srilankan Medical Association in UK, and succeeded me as the President. They were both excellent hosts. He was a genial person and has never behaved this way. Probably he had been annoyed by the offending person to react like this which is not an excuse. He has told me that he has been discriminated in NHS because of his skin and he had to go into private practice and even was telling me of his plan to go back to Srilanka. For a person who had suffered, he should see that his plight should not befall the minorities in Srilanka.
/
Goraka / July 12, 2016
Dr. Gnana, action speaks louder than words.
He is a racist and a bigot, according to his own words.
He should openly apologise to the minority community for his offending words.
/
Sinhala_Man / July 12, 2016
Agree with you absolutely, Goraka.
As for Dr. Gnana Sankaralingam, he is a specimen that grows curiouser and curiouser by the comment.
He first wrote me off as a villager (which I am) who could never have been educated in the “School by the Sea”.
Many skirmishes later, when I wrote the first of two articles on that group of schools, he said:
“Thus spoke the two year Thomian, AKA “Sinhala Man”. Before you could attack me, I wish to state that I am a fourteen year Royalist.”
https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/belief-in-the-worth-of-teachers-at-s-thomas-colleges/comment-page-1/#comments
Having been born in S. Thomas’, Bandarawela, and having done about ten months of teaching in Gurutalawa, I could actually claim that the first twenty years of my life were at S. Thomas’. However, thereafter, I’ve been a “gamay iskole mahattaya” (mostly) – working in Maha Vidyalayas. When, oh, when will these Sri Lankans ever get rational?
Even after that, he had something to say about my not having “foreign exposure”. I don’t think that I got down to telling him that I had been in the Maldives for three years, and in Oman for four. But then, Gnana would have scoffed at that since he would recognise only experience in “White Countries”.
I haven’t analysed racists from other countries properly, but clearly, in Sri Lanka, Tamil Racists like Sinhala Racists, and make excuses for them! But then, these racists don’t even stay in the country that they try to tear apart owing to their nastiness: they migrate. Heaven help us who stay put in this lovely land of our birth!
/
Dr. Gnana Sankaralingam / July 13, 2016
Dear Sinhala Man,
The subject of discussion is Dr. Namal Senasinghe. To attack me shows that you are not cultured and not rational. Please ask your friend Dr. Mahesh Nirmalan who succeeded Dr. Senasinghe’s wife as President of Srilankan Medical Association in UK. He will tell you exactly what I have said about Dr. Namal Senasinghe, that he is not a racist, but has acted on grave provocation. Please follow the teaching of Buddha to be rid of hatred, which clouds one’s mind to think and act in an honourable manner.
For your information, I give below a poem which I wrote, that was published in the Festival of Cricket souvenir of 10th July 2016.
It is compiled using most of the words in Royal College song, to sing praise of Royal colloege OBA in UK formed in 1983. I am sure you will never be able to match my standard.
The spirit of thine life was first awoke
On nineteen hundred and eighty three
Thence set with heart as sound as oak
Beneath the sway of Corea and Bradby
True to the watchword you did strive
Marshalling old boys within thy shade
Your loyal sons them made you thrive
Thro’ thee their debt owed they repaid
You learnt the way before the mission
Trod the path that led into this estate
Did bear the torch forth with passion
And kept up the school fame inviolate
Those lusty throats now raise a cheer
To your commitment to play the game
Taught of books and men that endear
They to thou honour will do the same

This idiot and his fraternity in GMOA should understand that they are not recognized as doctors in the most developed parts of the world, because they are only undergraduates and enter the medical college only after GCE Advanced Level. Remember, in US, Canada and some developed parts, you need to complete an undergraduate degree and achieve the highest performance in highly competitive tests like MCAT to be able to enter medical schools. It is this poverty of education of you and your fraternity in Sri Lanka that makes you and them clowns bragging about status and talking nonsense.

Was the GSP PLUS conditions relaxed because of this? Are more tourists visiting this country and spending more because of this classification? Has the Colombo Stock Exchange indices shooting up the sky because of this classification?
On the contrary, it has created enough divisions in the society that we might end up as a few countries based on our ethnicities, if this effort is exerted with much vigour.
Hope we all learn our lessons from the past and consider ourselves as Sri Lankans.

I am surprised that an educated medical doctor, living in UK, would bring out Sinhala Buddhist rhetoric, even after ‘losing his cool’ which puts him firmly in the same category as uneducated yobs & opportunists in SL. Asians (‘Brownies’ in particular) in UK, and probably in the whole western world as well, are all considered to be muslims in general by the average man on on the street & often subjected to same verbal abuse. Maybe Senasingha being a millionaire Consultant Doctor didn’t move in the same circles as the average Asian living in UK but I am sure he would know how it is to be in the minority in any country, therefore, he should have known better than to bring out racist comments on a personal dispute. It seems the whole problem was due to how some people in SL wants to show their close association with the political elite. Who gives a monkey’s whether Sirisena slept in Senasingha’s bed or Herat’s? To me they are all bum suckers trying to earn a quick buck from political connections.
