My Sisters Are Forcing Me To Retire From Politics, I Will Resign In Three Months: MR Tells MS

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who met President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s house three days ago, informed him that he will be quitting politics for good in the next three months, as his two sisters have advised him to do so, Colombo Telegraph reliably learns.

However on the pretext of naming his sisters Preethi and Gandhini’s demands, the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s modus operandi is to seek protection from current President Maithripala Sirisena for himself and that of his sons and siblings a source close to Champika Ranawaka told Colombo Telegraph.

The FCID and the Bribery Commission resumed their hunt on members of the former Rajapaksa regime the day following the general elections for the acts of abuse of power, forgery, murder, fraud, corruption and malpractices during their rule of self reigned power.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry also grilled the former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for over five hours last Monday, over allegations of misusing state funds and using personnel of the state-owned security firm, Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL) for the presidential election campaign.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa had blurted that his older brother’s actions and continued attempts at clinging onto power is endangering himself and that of his sons Namal and Yoshitha.

“The Rajapksa’s openly swindled and ran the country in a true mafia style family operation and there is no way that they are going to get away from this” a source close to Chandrika Kumaratunga went on to tell Colombo Telegraph.

      where had these sisters been

      a) At the time, highly abusive Rajapakshe term behaviour all indifferent to people s issues

      b) At the time, visiting UNP MPs or Aluthgama srilankens were deliberately attacked

c)Rathupaswala people that fought for drinking water which is the cheapest food item of the man – were delieberately manhandled or shot by forces – killing and injuring those activists.

      d) At the time, price hikes were made just MR co. to afford gigantic entourages akin to indian film producing groups travelling to Switzerland – as no other previous srilanken leaders did – without having a heart towards the poor man s real grievances – but cheatly pleasing them for vote gains only

      e) At the time people were made their voters only by keeping away the facts about the day – but feeding them with doctored information about crucial issues like UNHRC s decisions – in the reality, they had NOT been any attempts made or planned by them to bring Rajano to Haegue, but deliberate efforts were made by MR regime to repeately cheat the stupid gullible, gawky village folks (that make up 70% of lanken population).

      and and ..

See, good guys, listen to your hearts- during the short period Prez Sirisena being in the office, have not wasted people s funds by giving extra vaganza Dansala or the like – how many millions the gentleman should have saved for the poor of the nation ? He has no SOBANAYA – not spending that much even for his office – all these were already forgotten by people to this date. So is RW too. No would he or his wife go WORLD SAFARI on the costs of the people. These both leaders just run charm life styles. Alone to maintain Mihinlanka or unnecssary srilanken airline trips abusing the airline they have wasted a lot. Where had his hearts towards the poor been ?
Anyways, if Mahinda was a people man, he could do lot more to the nation while being in his second term, there not many were there to block if he had genuine thoughts to do so.
Today, to point the fingers at others- not looking back his own failures is the greatest failure of a leader.

As it is seen on the pics – Mahinda Rajpakshe looks like a HORA… while MY3 behaves as a thougtful person on the picture. Most Kapuwa like figures behave like Mahinda. He has much in common with those thugs and the like men than anyone else in the country. Now talking good about RW, but earlier he organized attacks against RW sometimes no reasons.

As it was the case with Gadafi family, the abusive Family in lanken politics will have to face it by hook or crook. That is the certainity.

Karama will punish him for all the misdeeds deliberately mapped up by him during the office.

You have to take responsibility for your actions. Why are you listening to everybody else? If you had listened to yourself and did the right thing from the beginning, then you wouldn’t be in this chaotic situation. As Lord Buddha said “THANHAYA JAYATHI SOKO”, I think it’s the greed that is destroying everyone of us.

I do not think that MR will resign and go home. Once used to power and privileges – though now much less than before – this “opium” is ingrained in his psyche and will not let go.
Further, where will he go and exist – all countries know of him and his ‘family tree’.
His acolytes will not let him go, as they are used to living in his shadow.

The murderous swindler and his family first should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.Thilak Marapona the ex attorney general is another bad choice of Ranil to clean up the Rajapakse crimes. Marapona appears to be in the pay of the crooks and is reportedly using undue influence to hide the criminality. So far Ranil has prevented the crook Harry Jayawardena from putting his hand to the kitty.

The opponents have still not stopped mudslinging at the Rajapakse family with false allegations to tarnish his image. Those who sling mud should remember that there is a thing called retribution and that what goes round comes round and will adversely effect even their generations to come.

Funny that this “what goes around comes around” principle doesn’t apply to the men that ordered the army to shoot people that were protesting for water. Don’s law of selective karma.

What a precipitous fall for a man (and his brothers) who once were at the pinnacle of Power. As several bloggers here have correctly alluded-to, the Ego did it: the Rajapaksas thought that were larger than Life and invincible because they indeed accomplished what many (including I) said was impossible, militarily defeat the LTTE. Great men do great things and use their success to do even greater things. Here the Rajapaksas did exactly the opposite: they abused the success of the war victory not to the benefit of the nation, rather to the perpetuation of their personal glory. Ham-bantota boys are now forced to eat Ham-bal pie.

MR seems to be planning to bargain with Maithri that he will leave politics if he and his family are spared from prosecution. But the question is, does he also plan to take with him the US Dollars 1.5 billion ( 1,500,000,000 US Dollars or 200,000,000,000 Sri Lanka Rupees) – reportedly accumulated by the group – that really belongs to us, and which the country desperately needs?

Birds of a feather flock together. Now the pieces of the jig saw fit. You certainly have a problem. You always fancy ruthless people while they are at their helm and leave them when they fall.

You were a founding lady of the LTTE and trailed behind the ruthless Prabakaran when he was doing well with what he was doing. You left him to join his killer Mahinda and you adored him while he ran a Government in a real Mafia style. He has hurt many people, not only Tamils, but Sinhalese too. He swindled public money and haven’t you heard of the Tsunami aid money he swindled in the ‘Helping Hambantota’ scam? I don’t like to elaborate all of them here but they all fascinated and charmed you. But when your hero lost the election, you now hate him. So your attachment to Mahinda is actually very shallow and this is the time he would need his friends like you. When he cannot be any more ruthless he is now no more your favourite!

I can see the LTTE mentality in you. You will have lunch and wine and enjoy the company and at the end shoot and kill and walk away as if nothing happened as what happened to Mr. Amirthalingam.

I see your problem you fancy ruthless people while at their helm. Had you been much older you would have loved Hitler too and his gas chambers where he massacred Jews in their thousands.

You asked “I am looking for a good horse to bet. Any suggestion?” Best bet is now joining the ISIS you will enjoy!

You certainly have a mental problem and should seek Psychiatric advice.

Let the Rule of Law , to its full extent take it’s normal course! If found guilty, President MS can pardon him (MR) and him only.. considering his deranged mental state and whatever good he has done in the past and the corrupt political system of which Prez. Maithrripala Sirisena himself was an integral part, wittingly or unwittingly, aiding MR’s misdeeds and those of his ministers and mps and other honchos,- by reason of Maithripala Sirisena’s own acts of commission or omission: if MR IS that MR.CLEAN he wants to portray himself as!

If Prez. Maithripala Sirisena were to make bold and do it, I’ll raise my hat and give my UTTAMAACHARAya (SuPreme Salute) to my President!

    That’s Buddha’s compassion…The MORALLY right Sinhala-LIKE thing to do!

A plea by Namal and Yoshiths can be looked at as separate, individual cases,on its or their own merits which learned judges can and are morally bound consider in passing judgement, given their age and extenuating/mitigating circumstances they were pushed into while they were teenagers and having to live with. So tragically!

That’s Buddha’s Compassion and that can be shown without malice or motives of revenge.. That’s also the Rule of Law and the essence of Justice and Fair-play..The moral and upright way.. ” which Lord Buddha in infinite wisdom, called, “Ujuko so maggo!”

You can have any opinion about MR, but I do respect him because of his decision to accept the election results.
This is a real good chance for Lanka – use the opprtunity and focus on the future to build up the country insead of blaming each others for their past!
There is a time to talk about the past – but it’s not NOW!

    Good luck Lanka!

MR the rascal should have given up politics long ago.He is the person who creates all ‘cheap’ political problems for our country. He and his clan are the disaster for this country. He can resign but only after he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law of the country. If he is a real ‘man’ he should come forward in front of the people and ask for ‘forgiveness’.

Why cant AUTHORITIES now question former president as to why the man abusing state helicopters paid a visit to Lanza the most alleged to have been handling drung trafficking to lanka – 2 years ago. Former pres s that visit held away the investigation of the alleged Nimal Lanz – why the people s power did not act against to raise the questions regarding this yet.

Me bbeing lanken activist being on the west have several dozens of questions as to why the people stayed silent that long. High crimes had been commited by him and his co operation.

If MR had been a humble person and truly walked amongst all Sri Lankans he would have still been President and most probably gone onto winning more elections. Unfortunately pride came to him before his fall. At least lets not forget that he brought peace to all Sri Lankans that many politicians could not do even those presently in power. He will be remembered.

MR has taken a wrong turn while contesting for GE.
He should have not come with SLFP, knowing that they will dump him soon.
Instead he should have used a separate party or a front to contest.
Of that would have happened then by now, MR is the PM with clear majority.
Yet people are not given clear mandate to him to step down. So its not ethical to take such a decision now.
Politics required a matured thinking, unlike a sportsman. Sportsman has to retire when he cannot move his legs/run to score and field to catch the balls.
They have a clear cut day to go out of the ground.
But politics is getting better when you are matured and experienced.
So its not the time. Don’t fall on a new TRAP.
UNPeers are creating this new news. So don’t fall to that again.
Stay in focus, time will come soon.
MR is still good to the country.
RW is good for USA, when he says domestic resolution or probe.
MR is not good to USA, he says the same in different voice.
People should aware the wolf under the sheep skin.

If you believe him then the pigs will fly. He is very cunning and fraudulent in nature he is like the weather cock changes with the wind. Don’t right him off he will pop his ugly head again when the daylight robberies are dead and berried. He still has ambition to make his son as President. Tamil may not pull the rug under his feet because he did look after Ranil during his unpopular periods in politics. They might have stitched up a deal to keep all the burning issues quite. We need justice for the disappeared and the abducted. We need justice for the swindles that occurred during his reign.

Regardless of whom you voted for, mudslinging against a former president shows the character of our nation’s citizens. We live in a country with a vitriolic anti-Mahinda sentiment, as well as several other undesirable prejudices. Discussing matters civilly (as they do in parliament – no doubt Mahinda will be called “honorable Minister from Kurunegala) may be a better option than comments that have to be edited out. What purpose does verbal attack serve?

So if nature has its way, the story goes, those disrespecting MR will lose the respect they have. So be it.

“Regardless of whom you voted for, mudslinging against a former president shows the character of our nation’s citizens.”

He should be lucky that the people of this island is stupid and relatively tolerant.

A home grown despot who was in charge of a kleptocracy and perpetrated war crimes should thank the people for not demanding his head on platter.

“What purpose does verbal attack serve?”

What else does the deposed despot deserve, exiled to China, Pakistan, Russia, Libya, Antarctica, …. or MARS ?

Asking for three months? Is it a ruse to manipulate some ‘jilmart’ to make a come back. I will not put past anything with MR, because he is a snake under grass. Remember how he invited RW to discuss a National Govt and coolly grabbed 40 odd UNP MPs bribing them?

Wonder what he is plotting and planning now that the formation of the Cabinet has taken so long and there is heavy horse trading for portfolios. This Nation is safe after MR is put away for good. Not until then.
