Namal Rajapaksa To Be Questioned Over Thajudeen Murder

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa will be questioned over the murder of former national rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.

It has been established that the MP was in touch with possible suspects in the case on the night the Rugby player was killed, according to the Asian Mirror.

Breaking the story, Asian Mirror said that they were now in a position to reveal that the name of a prominent young Parliamentarian has surfaced in connection with the investigation into the death of Rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.

The prominent young Parliamentarian is none other than former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s elder son Namal Rajapaksa, a source closed to the investigation told Colombo Telegraph.

“The new development marks a major breakthrough in the investigation into Thajudeen’s death.” a top investigator told Asian Mirror.

The Police team handling the investigation conducted investigations over the past few weeks to identify those who gave orders to kill the Rugby player. The investigations, according to highly placed Police sources, were mainly based on scientific evidence, Asian Mirror reported.

As Colombo Telegraph reported earlier, Dialog Axiata PLC has submitted the comprehensive details of telephone records that the Attorney General had requested.

Six individuals, including ‘Captain Tissa‘, the personal chauffer of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, have been traced by the CID as possible suspects in the case. The CID has already obtained travel bans on the six individuals, preventing them from leaving the country.

Captain Tissa, over the past 10 years, also functioned as a bodyguard of Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and Lieutenant Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

According to the Asian Mirror, top sources from the Police Headquarters said the CID would arrest suspects before the end of this month.

“The investigation is going very well without any kind of interference, But there will be pressure when they try to arrest Namal” a source closed to the investigation told Colombo Telegraph.

Hey guys, I am telling you – as to why the process against arrest of the alleged men of Thajudeen murder.

      a) Think if a country s majority folks are made fools as nothing can help them reverse or turn to the truths, Rajaakshes have brainwashed them for their advantage. So, if the alleged men in former first family would have been arrested, there will be a kind of social revolution – that is in making today by former President himself.
He targets only temple community (innocient but unlernt buddhist folks) to get attracted but telling them them any hearsay – not any constructive thoughts even about the bill which said to have redrafted by the current regime

      b) Current regime knows well, people of the country would react not using their brains but just emotionally only. This we learnt in 83 riorts, latest aluthgama riots etc

c)Current regime has no other option than waiting to have all the evidence at hand before Namal Baby or the other alleged men are arrested.

This will be another time wasting invesigation. There were so many like these
in the pipeline without any further court actions. As long as our present
president is in power there will not be any court hearings or punishments to
guilty parties. They will all get away scot free.

        punchinilame,
Your information proves that “lawyers live on dates, just like the arabs” as a former supreme court judge said.
We have the slowest judiciary in the whole world.
It is the people who suffer.

Justice in this country is slow and manipulated by lawyers and the police. It is time that there is public hearing so that the whole of the judiciary can be reformed. A rein on the Lawyer and demand for professional conduct by lawyers is a must if the public does not have to waste a life time for the conclusion of a case. Unfortunately there are too many lawyers in parliament resisting change.

Judging by these comments the man is already convicted. Wasn’t the report merely stating that he may have been questioned in this investigation? This attitude and mentality that is preventing Sri Lanka from getting ahead and developing to its potential.Guilty before proven innocent rather innocent until proven guilty!

It is a matter of ‘we do not like’ the person then we will spread rumours, seek ‘revenge’and then collectively press the nation’s self destruct button. At the moment Sri Lanka cannot get beyond the Rajapakse family and revenge game. And loosing the opportunity to continue to develop into a strong nation in Asia. Blind hatred blinds the nation to the extent that the citizens do not see the treasury being robbed and the nation sliding rapidly to a basket case position it was decade earlier. May the triple gem bless you fools!!!

Rulers are not idiots, entire world would back them.

Now the PM being invitted to DEVOS – even more contacts will have been made.

Simply saying, the days, you guys spent with the frog is fully gone.

More you know much hatred will be there, that is normal.

Right at the moment, their accounts in outside world including sociall isoalated – former eastern countries… need to expose what MR regime had been planning to achieve.

We have all kind of buddhists in the country.

      Some call them sinhala buddhists.
      You call them another buddist

We also call us buddhist, but would never work to promote disharmony among the folks within this war torn nation. That is also our responsiblity to see it so – as ones adhering non-violence to work on not promoting hatredness –
never should one be like former President Mahinda Rajapakshe if one as a buddhist expect all good to be blessed with this nation – like the way FORMER is holding abusing temple or the like premises should not be done:: right very critical juncture of lanken politics.

U know each and every hearted buddhists would get this but the bunch supporting Rajaapkshes would not.
They would abuse Temples and monk community to rewrite their thoughts painting the picture in favour of them.

Like the western politicians are highly dependent on few hundreds of migtrant voters today, lanken politicians are on fishing on muddy grounds when it comes ot get elected.
Buddhist clergy of the nation are the ones that could move almost everything towards good in the island nation since buddhists are the majority.
Like for example, it isthe opposite in Germany, since majority of germans are christians (catholic and anglican).

If politicians of the day, woudl be away from Temples to express their thoughts, could lead the nation leaving healthy – is what I feel having watched the current day politics inthe country.

If any Rajapakse or their related goons are arrested for the frauds, murders, and Crimes, they have committed on the people and the Country, there will be mayhem and bloodshed in Sri Lanka whatever concrete judicial evidence is unearthed. That is my candid opinion. Are we ready to face that chaos? Can the Government successfully deal with such a situation? Can our security forces including the Police be depended on to curb such violence? or will there be defections? That is why there is foot dragging on all these cases. It is like an infested white ants nest,a house of cards. The Government is not strong enough, and are wary about what will be unleashed on the Country by the opposition parties and their supporters should they proceed with the Judicial procedure on those fraudsters of the previous regime, as there are so many involved. What a sad state of affairs we have descended to.

Sri Lankans are idiots. Few intelligent people. MOst of the Sri Lankans have a ego. They think they are the smartest. Those who graduate from sri lankan universities think they are smarter than the people who graduate from western universities. But we Sri Lankans have not contributed to any major discoveries that happened in the near centuries but proudly talk about what our ancestors did in the past.
Only thing that the sri lanlans are smart is to rob, lie, kill, threaten .Only few have assimilated thier wealth legally. Every one is a crook.
If they are smart these crooks wil not be parliamentarians. Wimals mervyns rajavassas would ‘ve never got elected.
Bunch of brainless cows. Its hard to discipline this society. That’s why we are considered 3rd world.

It is just because the Journalists dont do their job well. Poilticians dont do the job well. Limited profesisonals dont do the job well.

Listen7watch to even top programs runnning on the lanken TV and compare them with those of Germany, France, UK or any other first world countries.

There, I feel the most lack a lot even if internet connects and make the world a small village to this date.

As you picked it up – every time visiting the country (alteast once a year) on my return, I question myself why my brother or sister failed to see it that the way I woudl have done… even if I kept explaining about many things of the day today life, they cant get them easily.

As you added above – I am telling you Rohan – one of my relative who is a medical doc (just a GP only) but his ego is as no other – even their family call him not by his name – but Dosthara- do even highly educated professors on the west behave in that way ? Entire society sees that doctor produced in lanka may know almost everyting even if his specialities are limited. This s just becuase lack information. See on the west, average patients are highly knowledgble on common things. But a surgeon in srilanka is held as named god… (may be they dont have enough surgeons).
Yesterday while eating in the uni cafetaria in Zurich, one surgeon known to me called himself that his job is not second to that of a butcher sometimes. True, onthe west there are enough surgeons, sometimes, some of them would nto find the job of their choice easily. These are just few exmaples Rohan. You are dead right here.

        Sama
Even in companies like Intel, Microsoft, Apple, IBM etc, they dont show thier education qualification in the company business card. No one know whether you have PHD Msc or a Bachelors. Only thing that they care is whether the work gets done.

          Rohan,
it is typical to srilankens in general.

Each time travelling to the island, on my return I ask myslef thousands of questions why the doctors or other authorties I met with behaved the way they have been used to. Why they dont want to see it bit further etc. Telling you the truth, I took once my aged mother to the specialist (neuro surgeon) during my short stay there, the job is though done by my sister usually. I happened to join them there. There I really felt – the status that a doctor (speicialists)in the country is no means second to a Pope. Why is that ? Is that only because lack of the number of docs of that kind ? or the culture ? I believe It is just because the way they get on with the patients. See, come to Germany and Switzerland – there even Professors in Medicine that are world recoginzed for their research would not behave the way lanken average specialist would do. That is typical to lanka. As a patient, you can explain almost everything about the anamnesis with the treating doc on the west, but it is impossible that in srilanka even today. How can a doctor treat the patient better, if he would not listen to the paitient medical history comprehensively. Not only docs but also other highest officials in the country – sometimes not having the respective exp.. behave so snobish.. this has lot to dow with the culture than anything else.

U know why Wimal, Mervin, Gonwahanse Udaya all can move the society as they think is right ? They all have sinhala terms that outreach masses and their prion filled skulls. As mad cower disease metastasized, those terms spread as a wild fire among the folks that are the easy and stupid fractions of the nation.
How come Buruwanses rhetorics caused that collection of votes in WESTERN province ? WP is said to be the region where the density of average of knoweldgble people is statistically reported to be the highest. If WP people elected men of the kind Buruwanse, Gonwahanse Udaya as their repreesentatives, that alone say everything about cross section of folks. Sometimes for no reason these the mentioned men would add paranoid theories from theri cesspits as if a cow fall its extrements- not regarding the place I mean – people at once are ready to take them. Like for example, Buruwanse is now inthe opinion, that the govt is on the agenda to train their CID personnels withthe assistance of UK high commission- the kind of issues would not have space even within europe. How can a high commission go against their priciples ? But for his limited -FROG IN WELL- mentaliy, buruwanse with lack of all acceptable facts, just add his thoughts. No matter even if those info could mislead vulnerable masses. These are the consequences after allowing all uneducated or candidates become country s lawmakers. Just becaues of those men to own mouthpieces – that should NO means the best qualification them to join ruling politics of the country. But this was inevitable during the reign of Musalaya Rajapakshe ERA.

Eldorado! Whatever the outcome Rajapaksas should be arrested. If his cronies protest or try to enlarge them protest the army is there to look after matters arising.
Getting back to Namal Rajapaksa [NR], do you know by trying to promote Commonwealth Games he along with Cabral went with a plane lord to St Kitts and for our luck lost the bid to Australia after spending several million dollars. He took even prostitutes to promote it. There is evidence to establish that NR did not possess the requisite qualifications to sit for the Law College Exam. He sat for the final exam inside an exclusive AC room armed with a computer. His results beat even the greats like Lalith Athulathmudali. How Come? He was the one who got down night races to Colombo. He did not care two hoots for requests by many who booked hotel close to the venue to stop it. Not only that the income derived was exempted from entertainment and other taxes on a directive by Prasanna Ranatunga the Chief Minister of Western Province. The total tax excluded Rs. 15 million. Isn’t this daylight robbery? In addition his father waived the duty on several racing cars imported for the races It was reported that the revenue lost by waving the duty on just one car was sufficient to provide at least 1,000 poor families with shelter. A batch of 53 rehabilated LTTE cadres who were married in Sept, 2013, at a ceremony officiated by NR, were given a chain each as a wedding gift. Now it has come to light that the chains were gold plated brass. There are hundreds of other misdeeds of NR.

It is the inferior complex that people like Rohan hold that keeps Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan under the suddha’s jackboot. Please go and learn our people’s achievements. Do not compare all Sri Lankan to yourself! You are good for this Yahapalana government. What matter is the number of professionals in the country … and the professionals are even comparable to those of the west… I think Rohan is right. I have the same feeling each time visiting the country. Even senior lecturers are not updated with information. Telling the truth, at the time, glyphosat and lanken UNKD (uknown kidney disease)was discussed with several specialists of the world, I sent an E-mail to few guys that are engaged with the project being run in that field (srilanka), they were not humble enough to come back to me. Not even to this date, I received any feedback from them. They just so swollen as the most known DOCTOR example of the country in lime light – Dr Dayan Jayathilaka.

Those who got their education on the west, would never behave that way. They are so humble and even more patient when doing their duties. Be them medical profeissonals, research scientists or others, they just consider their qualifications only for their professions.
May be what Rohan explains is common to majority of south asian professionals.

Well said Inferiority complex is a major problem too with Sri Lankans. I am humble to admit that. anotherbuddist you dont have any of these issues. That’s why you blame suddahs. Main reason we have failed as a nation since independance beucase we dont know who we are.

Not with srilankens, but with the men like Rajapakshe for example.

He cant get on with any other folks – but he interprets it as if he would not care western nations.

HIs lack of knowledge in langagues and other areas restricted him from mingling with westerners and america.
But RW now being in Devos, holds discussions with multi national folks. Questions keep coming on him, since he is open to the world. No like frogs of the kind MR. Even if MY3 is not well conversant in other langagues, but he is no against his govt being open to other nations. Latter is now welcome by entire world – but Rajapkshe men paint it as current rulers work on the agendas of IC.

Whoever whatever being explained, listeners should take them in a healthy manner. For so that, the nation is not yet well educated.

RE: Punchinileme- Dont blame the President.
Who is in charge The President, the Prime minister or the Justice Minister?
My understanding is that Justice Minister is appointed by the Prime minister
with the consent of the President. If the Justice Minister is delaying all
these cases for his own reasons, it is the duty of President and PM to get rid
of the Justice Minister and appoint another who is more honest and efficient.
Buck stops with president and PM.

MsKitchibichi like most women in Colombo think that RW is THE MAN. MR is a godaya. But this godaya won the war / a war that was fought against not only the LTTE but also against the western nations / powers. RW is good for all you Sri Lankans who want to stay a poor under developed nation and brown nose the suddas! You can remain in the cesspool Sri Lanka will become under RW. By the way Miss / Ms you can lust after RW but he has preference for young ones of the opposite sex!

Godaya did not win the war, but Godaya ate the cake so greedily as if his magical powers exclusively eleminated terror. But truth as it is, forces and all collectiveness were instrumental in defeating terror groups to 2009.

If you are not an idiot, you should raise the question, very same godaya not to have done the little to protect own folks in the post war episode, but to deliberately support criminals and thugs to get bred – why was that ? Mahinda Rajapakshe is the most abusive rascal leader of the day. He has been like this for the decades inthe country, but uncilivzed dominated srilanka would never get it. As last election results clarrified, even if their lovely ones would have been abducted, murdered out, those stupid folks would go on voting criminal leaders further.
You should be one to represent them. So u cant add anything better. Good luck and have your brain checked… that can at least help for your family.

TO my good understadings – Mahinda Rajapakshe as Rev. Dr. Dambara amila thero proved in her speeches was not at all in the mind of eleminattion of terror – but all the collective groups strengnthened MR s hand encouraging him that there was no other way than go for crushing them. Beside, previous govt to that time, had tried in many ways to get them the LTTERs to discussion table and made many sacrifices – to that time, MR took the office, if you rememeber, his moves were almost like that of preivous presidents. They none of them were killing minded as MR has been.
Even today, the behaviour of MR is devious. See how he has been doing it today on the temple premises ? NOt a bill or the like is being drafted and passed by c urrent rulers, but to pain it with the MONK community telling untruths of all his nature – is purposefully programmed to twist the mind sets of the gullible majority of the nation. That way only the kind of rascal leaders could get back to power.
If you are honest to you, please see it in a broader manner why as some other commnetators add, MR failed ot do the least towards the reconciliation but for the pockets of them. Even today, how many times they the family memembers should report to FCID.. or other criminal investigation bodies in terms of all the high abuses made by FORMER regime.
And yesterday, it was reported by young UNP politician that the funds that had been deposited in Switzerland and other coutnries are now being transfered to SEA SHEELVES… why and where have they got all these BILLIONs… all the reocrds being collected will come to surface in the days to come. Why and what powers he MR should ahve to grab people s fund sthis way ?

When it comes to winning the war, it MR & GR. SF is not in the photo. Many say GR is a tough guy. Do you know when the war was on during Chandrika’s time he made excuses and fled to US. If he is a brave guy he should have been there till the end. The other thing is it is he who persuaded SF and recommended to MR, who in fact questioned Gota about his reliability. If Gota was not there MR would never have agreed to make available the funds and equipment. Like everybody else MR was also scared of the Army. Look what happened after the war’s end. MR & Gota were bloody scared that they will lose the grip and wanted to get rid of SF & concocted the stories to put the fellow behind bars. Ranil & his etal could have saved SF if they wanted. Like all politicos at the end he did what is good for him politically. Now MR & Gota are the war heroes. Even yesterday Gota was telling it is he made it possible for MS, Ranil & Chandrika to go to Jaffna. When it comes to wining the war they claim the credit. But when he spends and owes Rs.124 million to the ailing SLTB by way of unpaid hiring charges on buses carrying people to attend his meeting island wide he says it is SLFP that owes the money. It is the same with monies owing to Rupavahini & ITN. He may be owing monies to the Lake House and SLBC also for advertising like the SLRC. These fellows are not only ugly but dirty in their thinking. Everything ‘NUHURATA’.

I think Rajapakshes are super men that have created terror free srilanka.

All those that study the lanken war related issues are well aware of the fact how Mahinda Rajapakshe had been even before he became the president of the country.

Those who only feel that the man and his handling was the key issue to have defeated LTTE terror – that is all stupidity.
Besides, Ltte had been weakened by every means (losing their leaders, death of their political wing leader etc) – during the first term of MR. As lanken civil society organisations make it very clear MR had no guts to face the war – as magical power… he was encouarged by those civil society men together with lanken 3 forces. For me even to this date… my heroes are the force and the ones gave a lead to force to fight the war… There the respect SF earns is that huge.
