No One Can Achieve Anything By Discussing With Creator And Instigator Of Current Political Crisis: JVP Responds Strongly To Sirisena’s Invitation

In a strongly-worded letter to President Maithripala Sirisena, the JVP has said the party does not wish to ‘discuss’ the current political crisis with the President, as the latter has to demonstrate his resolve to address the issue by action.

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake

The JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his letter, has explained why it decided to boycott the all-party meeting convened by President Sirisena this evening.

The party, describing Sirisena as the ‘creator’ of the political crisis, says Sirisena instigated the turmoil by appointing a Parliamentarian who did not command the majority support in the House as the Prime Minister. The JVP also said the President then triggered a culture where Parliamentarians were traded off to prove an artificial majority for a chosen Prime Minister.

The JVP also criticized the President’s moves to prorogue and dissolve Parliament exacerbating the political crisis, when his attempts to purchase MPs proved to be futile.

The party then blamed President Sirisena for offering ‘cheap excuses’ for accepting two no-confidence motions against purported Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa adopted in Parliament. The party maintains that the two no-confidence motions were adopted by the House following the correct Parliamentary procedure, with the contest of a majority.

The JVP believes, the latter says, that nothing can be achieved by holding discussions with the creator of an unprecedented crisis. The party points out that the President must now resort to action, and fulfil his part, to resolve the political crisis.

Clear the Mess created by Sillisena Firstly, reintroduce the majority party as Leaders then the PM goes to the country for the Election.
Not the Horse before the Cart.
Those in favour of the Fake PM and the Fake Government wants the Election before clearing the Mess of The Parliament where the Minority Government holding the People at Ransom.
Don’t Cheat the People and their Mandate given in January 2015.
It’s not the people’s fault that Silli couldn’t work with the Prime minister elected.
      Cheating the people again??
While waiting for the Election the Fakers will have enough time to Loot the country and intimidate the voters as the Fake Rulers .

        Diogenes and Champa,

“Agree, it is a hard-hitting letter. What Anura says about the President is true.”

For the last couple of years, Amarasiri has been conferring the Titles of Traitor, Sevealaya, Mala-Patholaya, and more recently Pachaya and Pissa. While the current constitutional situation with Sirisena is very sad and disruptive, Amarasiri is glad more and more people are beginning to understand this character including the MPs.

Excellent Hon Anura K!!!. We appreciate your firmness in refusing the so-called conference. It’s crystal clear that the Prez is dragging this matter due to the anger he has with Hon. Ranil W. What conference when it is now left to the Prez to do the needful accepting the decision of Hon The Speaker who has legally performed his task twice. If he really wanted to settle this crisis, he should have come to the Parliament & watched the performances of Hon Speaker. A[part from this, the Prez has not even condemned the conduct of members who resorted to brawn rather than brain during its sittings, without an iota of respect & regard to the sanctity of the institution.

Comrade JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake,

RE: No One Can Achieve Anything By Discussing With Creator And Instigator Of Current Political Crisis: JVP Responds Strongly To Sirisena’s Invitation.

      Yes, Comrade.

Sirisena, aka , the Traitor, Sevalaya, Mala-Perethaya, Patholaya, Pachayya and Pissa, will come up with various excuses. How do you communicate or deal with a Pissa, madman? Impeach the Pissa and give him a bed at the Angoda Hospital. It is best for everybody.

Will you Comrades impeach the Pissa and get him a bed at Angoda?

This Jackass Sirisena has brought dishonour to all Srilankans in the eyes of the world. What he is demanding from the real PM & Mr. Speaker, he should have obtained it from Mahinda Rajapakshe a confirmation that he command the majority in Parliament before naming MR as PM. Now that the shit has hit the ceiling fan, that Sirisena must resign from being the President forth with. If he does not CT please initiate a country wide Petition getting the people to sign it urging him to resign. As an average human being, he sure is a disgrace.

      Dear Hancho pancha,
      .
I share with you the strong emotions expressed by you and so many others.
      .
But those who know the ins and outs of Constitutional Law must work out the implications of impeaching Sirisena. If the President is impeached, or even resigns, it is the Prime Minister who will succeed.
      .
It’s true Mahinda Rakapaksa cannot be elected again, but it may be possible for him to fill a vacancy.
      .
The events of the past month have been tragic. The Economy (not yet obvious) and the reputation of the country have taken a terrible beating.
      .
While wishing these things had never happened, we must now ensure that both Sirisena and the Rakapaksas are destroyed once and for all. There also are signs that communalism is stamped out.
      .
However, to ensure that we must stop ridiculing My3 for his background.

Thanks for the willingness to forgive; it can’t be easy for you.
      .
There is every indication that this is not the inhuman JVP of old. For various reasons, tied up with ideology, they may find it difficult to formally apologise, but their stand on various issues speaks for itself.
      .
That said, their record on Universities and SAITM leaves a lot to be desired. They’ve got to learn that coercion is counterproductive

So MR remains an ex president who held office for two terms, made an attempt at being president for life with succession rights, now reduced to being a prime minister as a poor third choice after Karu and Sajith, stubbornly so remaining even after two NCMs have been passed against him. His desire to cling on to power so tenaciously should serve as an indicator to Sirisena of how meagre his chances are of even being nominated at the next presidential election. I think Sira has cooked his own goose.

The dignity of our Parliament has reached its nadir in the hands of lawless lawmakers in both sides.
The entire country watched with disgust how “lawmakers” became lawbreakers.
I agree with the President about the 2nd NCM.
Friday was too riotous and rowdy, although the Speaker tried his best even risking his life. If he didn’t come with the police, he would have subjected to manhandle by “lawmakers.”
Besides, the President said he will accept a roll call, not a voice vote.
However, Speaker’s attempt was blocked by President’s own UPFA ruffians, which tells it all!
Gotabhya says Mahinda could have waited for 1 1/2 years but can the people wait.
Of course people can. Actually after seen the deplorable behaviour of President’s UPFA ruffians, people should take a step backward and think again. MR and his goons are too aggressive, unruly and immature to take over the country.
The problem with MR is, he is spoilt by Maha Sangha and his supporters.
Mahanayaka Theros and other prominent Buddhist priests, who patted him on the back when he grabbed power through a coup d’état, should take the responsibility of the lawlessness in the Parliament.
I still say NO to this political conspiracy.
MR’s rude assertion staged through irrepressible mischief in the Parliament should be stopped by removing him through an NCM.
There is no need to follow the accepted norm here as he was not elected but installed by the President without first removing the PM-in-office legally..
MR should be removed for 2 reasons.
    1. To teach a good lesson to him and his goons for bringing disrepute to the Parliament.
    2. To remove a bad precedent as, if not, anybody who can “cut a secret deal” with the President can become a PM overnight, ridiculing people’s mandate and elections.

I hope Anura doesn’t mind bringing the NCM for the third time to stop President’s UPFA ruffians bringing disgrace to the country.
One of the UPFA ruffians who threw various objects says that if the “Speaker” doesn’t behave, they will do the same on the 19th, too.
The Speaker is 78 years old. President’s UPFA ruffians who are much younger to him, hurling insults and throwing various objects at him is unpardonable.
I understand the Speaker is a former military officer.
His steel determination to not to be intimidated by President’s UPFA ruffians may have come from that background. Otherwise any other Speaker would have got a heart attack the first day itself.
Speaker’s unflinching resolution to protect the democracy in Parliament single handedly, is highly commendable.
The ultimate authority in our Parliament is the Speaker.
I suggest him to come “well prepared.”
As proved already, ordinary Police is helpless.
I suggest the Speaker to bring “Riot Police” (I am serious) when he comes on Monday, as they wear helmets and carry shields. Prior to the Chamber is opened, they should be installed on the side steps (there are 10 steps each side), two side passages and behind Speaker’s Chair so that nobody can occupy in that area.
When the NCM is presented AGAIN, the Speaker will start taking votes by name and count “Agree” votes.
(I don’t know the order. Let us say;) 1. Ranil-Agree. (yes vote) 2. Palitha- Agree. (yes vote.) 3. Harin- Agree (yes vote).
      After that “Disagree” votes. 1. Dinesh-Noise (abstain vote.) 2. Johnston-Noise (abstain vote.) 3. Mahindananda-Noise (abstain vote.) 4. Ranaweera-Noise (abstain vote) 5. Wimal-Noise (abstain vote.) 6. Chamal-Mute (abstain vote.) 7. Amaraweera-Mute (abstain vote.)
Then the Speaker can announce the results. (I don’t know for sure, let’s say;) 125 vs 0. We are done!

        What a wonderful dream

Had the speaker been perfect in his duty, maintaining good rapport with both ruling & opposition, he wouldn’t have come with such a security blanket to the house.

        Shame upon him.

With just 105 seats in the house where the total is 225 you can’t do magic, even though you may garner support from small parties.

Silent majority want the president not to appoint RW, the PM, so go for an election.

          Real Revolutionist
You seem to be expecting the Speaker to come alone so that a chair, chilli spray or heavy books could reach his head, right? How pathetic!
The lawlessness shown in the Parliament will halt the President, if he has common sense, without going for Parliamentary elections at this juncture.

Why shouldn’t he go for fresh election when the given mandate for good governance came to the end without giving gg, instead looting the CB through bond scam?

            How pathetic?

Fresh election @ any cost will bring stability to the country.

Stressing again; Ranil didn’t receive mandate to work alone. It was to work together with president.

Their being @ loggerheads compels the mandate to cease.

Why are UNPers afraid if people are with them?

Ok, the last line should read as follows, in fairness to former President.
      .
      2. To remove a bad precedent as, if not, in the future, any President can “cut a secret deal” with the Opposition and appoint a PM overnight, ridiculing people’s mandate and election.

You’re talking about non-existing mandate dear.

Why don’t you try to understand that the mandate came to halt when 2 main parties started the dispute without rendering gg as promised.

Don’t forget that people gave the mandate to work together; they’re not together now so no mandate there.

All the mainstream politicians are equally responsible for this crisis so nobody has a right to point finger to anybody.

People want all of them, not to let outsiders to intervene & go for the best available option, parliamentary election.

President calls all-party conference how does he recognize the party there are newly appointed parliamentary and existed parliamentarian, and parliamentarian does not know who is all party &
the world recognized ministerial. In GCC OL for general Knowledge if the the question is who was the prime minister in 2018. one who is correcting the paper is in questioned.

Except Mahinda Rajapakse, all the other political leaders are suffering from Election Phobia. The situation of Ranil who lost elections 29 times is very serious. Some do not want an election because they are going to lose ‘Pin Padi’ paid by tax payers for their life time. Others who are not sure about their chances of getting elected again think it is better to have a good time for the next one and half years.

I agree 1005 with what the JVP says except the last Para.

.But nothing done or not done alter the fact that Mr Maithiripala Srisena is the President of the country.

It is cowardice, not to talk even to your enemy. when trhere is a slim chance that something could come out of this.
    .
The President may be looking for a way out to come out of the mess he himself has created.

Why not give him a chance or many chancees.

Any resolution of this crisis has to be initiated by not anybody other than the President.

Let saner council prevail and the let the country come back to the senses.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa has told that Mahinda Rajapaksa could have become Prime Minister with a two-thirds majority in Parliament if he had waited for elections in a year and a half and had questioned whether the country could wait that long. Gotabhaya Rajapakse, You are dead right. If Ranil was the PM for another year and half, there was no country for Sinhalayo. North of the country will be grabbed by Demalu, East will be grabbed by Muslims and rest of the country and few pockets here and there by foreigners. Good Riddance!

Modaya and Yodaya: Good for You Anura. Ooru Sira and Mara created this big mess by shitting incessantly. Even now that is going on. The more they try to clean up the shit the more they add to it. It is a classic case where මෝඩයා අසූචි හත් පොලේ ගාගන්නවලු. In this case we have one Modaya and one Yodaya. The two together produce square the amount, square the stink and square the difficulty in cleaning it up.
    .
Having realized what a monumental amount of shit they have created, they want others to help in the clean-up.
    .
You have made a wise decision to keep out. Let the two who shat clean it up. Otherwise you can become a victim of the Rambukwella effect, an example of which is where he blames the whole fracas that they engineered in the parliament on hooters in the gallery and the Speaker himself.

When a party like the JVP makes more sense than the President and fake PM, you know things are not right, and that they are horribly WRONG. Are Silly and MR living in a world of delusion and isolation? They seem to be the only ones thinking they are right, when even the constitution says they are wrong. They do not realize that from now on, they will always be looked upon as untrustworthy, ineffective, and manipulative. The country will never feel secure as long as they are in power.

This “Meeting” called by the President MY3 is an “ATTEMPT” to wash the “MUD” (I prefer to call it SHIT) he himself bathed in. He (MY3) has been very badly “Cornered” and getting “Isolated” both within the country and the outside world. If one were to conduct an “Opinion Poll” it would reveal an alarming “Down Grading” for him. Why only JVP boycott the “Meeting”? In my opinion, all other Political Parties must “Boycott” it. Of course, the “JO” and the “SLPP” would not do it, because they are caught by their balls. A “Boycott” by the other parties, who represent the “Majority” in the Legislature could send him a strong “MESSAGE” – “You are not anymore tolerated for messing up and playing a “BOORUWA GAME” down grading the elected representatives to be a “PACK OF CARDS”. I say this, because MY3 said: “I have yet to play my trumps” and also he actively got engaged in the “Number Game”. That is no SECRET to the Public. I hail the decision of the JVP and hope all other political parties, who believe in Democracy would follow. The Speaker has made that decision, on the ground that he does not belong to a political party. Good and a Sensible decision. Do not forget the next “SUBTLE” move of the President and “MR & Co, Inc.” to put the entire blame on the Speaker and get out of the “SHIT PIT” that they are sinking.

JVP , you are a Marxist party. But looks like you have embraced Parliamentary politics just like how the LSSP fell under its spell.

Who is the main class enemy ? Is it the petit- bourgeois village based MS/MR ? However corrupt and unsavoury MS/MR are, they are your allies in the implacable class war against what Ranil and his lumpen support base represents.

      kolla
This has nothing to do with the class.
In fact, it is the ordinary voters, who are the majority, who are mostly affected as President’s move undermines people’s right to vote and choose anybody of their choice.
Same as JVP, people are against the Executive destroying the Representative Body which is the Parliament, where diverse political views are voiced under one roof.
This is certainly not in support of UNP. People’s views about UNP remains unchanged.

All the talk now that the best solution to the present crisis is to go to a general election and let the people express their wishes and so on, has one huge flaw. It detracts from the role of the author of the current crisis – It is a crisis brought about by President Sirisena’s unconstitutional actions, among others, in seeking to sack RW and appoint MR in his stead. So, it is good to see that the JVP has had the good sense to cut out the crap and identify the true villain of the present tragedy – the President himself. It will be most unfair if he gets away scot free.
