No One Can Achieve Anything By Discussing With Creator And Instigator Of Current Political Crisis: JVP Responds Strongly To Sirisena’s Invitation

In a strongly-worded letter to President Maithripala Sirisena, the JVP has said the party does not wish to ‘discuss’ the current political crisis with the President, as the latter has to demonstrate his resolve to address the issue by action.

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake

The JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his letter, has explained why it decided to boycott the all-party meeting convened by President Sirisena this evening.

The party, describing Sirisena as the ‘creator’ of the political crisis, says Sirisena instigated the turmoil by appointing a Parliamentarian who did not command the majority support in the House as the Prime Minister. The JVP also said the President then triggered a culture where Parliamentarians were traded off to prove an artificial majority for a chosen Prime Minister.

The JVP also criticized the President’s moves to prorogue and dissolve Parliament exacerbating the political crisis, when his attempts to purchase MPs proved to be futile.

The party then blamed President Sirisena for offering ‘cheap excuses’ for accepting two no-confidence motions against purported Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa adopted in Parliament. The party maintains that the two no-confidence motions were adopted by the House following the correct Parliamentary procedure, with the contest of a majority.

The JVP believes, the latter says, that nothing can be achieved by holding discussions with the creator of an unprecedented crisis. The party points out that the President must now resort to action, and fulfil his part, to resolve the political crisis.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed is king… in our beloved land, wonder of Asia, we only achieve records of ridicule, laughter and trivia…will we ever learn to kick out the crooks coming out of ‘so called elite schools’ and gamarala’s.

If I see one of these thugs/crooks/criminals re-elected, then I know we live in the ‘land of the blind’.

I want to see all these people locked up sooner rather than later, to release the country from the clutches of these highway robbers…

I would like to nominate Anura Kumara for the position of our next President. He has proven beyond that he follow what he preach and he knows the constitution very well. We need such interlectuals to rule our Country. He has proven beyond doubt that you can place your trust on him. I salute him.

This guy AK is not a JVPer but a faithful dog of RW now — may become a faithful dog of Mahinda later – he is trying to portray himself as the savior of democracy and constitution – tell me good things they had achieved while they are in the Parliament – – all what they do is shouting and proposing what they would have done if they were in power – the most recent of their achievement is writing a letter to MS asking him not to publish the list of MPs who had received money from Bond scam culprits -whose interest are they protecting ?? few months back they were shouting against corruption of previous regime – double tongue principle less bas… — they really should be ashamed of saying word of support to Ranil

I think the time is ripe for all civilians to stop calling the President, the rogue PM, rogue Ministers and MPs as Honorable or any other prefixes. Its time for the people to address them with the prefix “Ado”.

The next will be the UPFA/JO boycotting Parliamentary sessions!
The problem with them I think is the number.
They don’t want their numbers to go on record.

    Cowards!
Interestingly, the President who stresses the point that the NCM against Mahinda should be taken electronically or by calling names, never talk about the way he removed Ranil.
Funny though, their are two starkly different laws for two people.
I am beginning to think we are heading for clear lawless situation.
The only impartial and independent body is the Supreme Court. People say there are moves to manipulate their decision too.
What makes me laugh is the difference between what people say and what they do.

Are we a Sinhalese Buddhist nation??

If yes, then you are the majority, and you are responsible for the cultural depreciation. Do something about it.

If no, then you don’t have a clue about democracy. In a democratic system the culture is set by the majority.

    What is a philosophy?

A system created to analyze and understand behavior.

    What is a religion?

An idea created to provide direction through discipline and faith.

The difference between the two is one only requires knowledge and the other requires knowledge, discipline and practice.

Can you teach an Eskimo the taste of a biriyani?

They have a different way of life. Unless they are willing to eat it, no point wasting your time and effort.

This is why I agree with the statement made by JVP.

The meeting is failed. NCM has to be passed again. It is not sure if EP thinking he may get better results, not just by the voting process advantage, even if by the illegitimate donkey trading. Could there be an honest one who is thinking so. I doubt it.
There are indication Sumanthiran and Anura pissed off by the game New King played.
Sumanthiran wanted to go to court and Anura Kumara doesn’t want to attend the meeting. The Cheater feels proud of his third grade deed; but the cheated one feels it an insult to their intelligence. There were four constitutional breakages.
1). Appointment of a new PM
    2). Eventually, dismissing the incumbent.
3). Proroguing the parliament for illegal purpose.
    4). Dismissing parliament illegally.
To take them to court, No.2 has to be done by Ranil. No.4 is contested in court. Though explicitly illegal in this coup circumstance, No1 and No.3 will need extensive legal arguments to prove them, because there is some authority to EP to appoint anybody as PM and to prorogue parliament without giving a reason. So Anura Kumar and Sumanthiran left the Ranil’s matter for Ranil’s option and took the other two in the parliament. But the New King crook was planning to reject the NCM to buy time, did know this may too end up in court because rejecting has a legal implication too. So he wanted to have him protected from a parliament NCM enforced on him not using arbitrarily the authority vested with him. He tactfully talked to them and had those lines removed from the NCM. Then he just simply rejected it again. Now, if they go to court and have enforced then he has to fire Old King that is anyway he knows he has to do. New King is not losing by them going to court to enforce the NCM.
That is why they too are mad.

It is high time, we Sri Lankan’s consider the Third Alternative which is JVP. The Two main parties have failed to deliver so far and they have now dragged the country to the current political stalemate and a bottleneck. Any new government that will be formed in the future should include JVP. For this to happen, We need to give JVP in the next general election at least 15 to 20 seats in the Parliament. JVP will definitely form the government along any leading political party which is willing to execute the Mandate put forward by JVP. My vote in the next general election is for JVP. They have earned it!

It is indeed commendable of the JVP to submit the no confidence motion following all due procedures. It also goes without saying that the president is a rogue and the only instigator of every single illegal act committed in violation of the law. Since the law is unambiguous and the head of state stands in violation of the law on multiple counts what is the remedy? The natural course would be impeachment. However that course is blocked due to the requirement, of a two thirds majority to impeach. The legislature has split into two camps the one with the majority whose rights have been illegally violated and a minority who are criminals whose criminality has been proven in parliament itself. Therefore the armed forces have to be instructed to remove the president from office by the use of force to protect the constitution and the nation. The legal current prime minister should then be sworn in as the acting head of state with a suitable new candidate that enjoys the confidence of parliament as its new prime minister. Anyone that objects to this or still advocates for the continuation of MR as PM are not of sound mind and cannot be henceforth taken seriously.

It is really a pathetic situation that the country is facing, hijacked by some old ones who should have retired gracefully with what this country has done for them rather than other way around, see Vasuuu, Thinaseee, GLPPPP, etc. What have they done for this county?. They have been robbing the future of the next generation, the kind of peaks and power they enjoyed don’t allow them to go away, more than that the income accrued in percentage on contracts on the name of developments. Who is going to pay if the borrowing counties are not prepared to write off the loan. The lay person doesn’t understand all this, they play into the manipulators hand, today, tomorrow and for ever. It is really pathetic.

We must warn the lender that the future elected and erect government will not honour their loans if they finance bogus ventures.

Nice Title. Creator And Instigator Of Current Political Crisis. In Hiduism, we have a Creator and a Destroyer – God Siva. So, I propose that Sirisena be known as Siva Sankar Sirisena from now on.
    .
However, the problem is his Lingam, which I understand is sub-standard.
    .
My apologies to Siva Sankar Sarma. No insult intended!

It does not matter what JVP should never support UNP (Ranil ) for anything. I think the current JVP leaders do not know what happened in the 88/89. In every way UNP policies are completely opposite to JVPs.
