Pictures: Who Will Get The Rolls Royce Ghost Cars After The CHOGM ?

By Colombo Telegraph

“Who will get the Rolls Royce Ghost cars after the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting? Bet the Rajapaksa clan is at the head of the queue and the poor tax payer and money set aside for development of the land will be utilized to run these cars for the rest of their days” an anonymous, widely circulated email asks and predicts.

Meanwhile, the United National Party (UNP) Friday urged the government to investigate the import of a ‘Rolls Royce Ghost’ luxury vehicle.

UNP parliamentarian and economist Harsha De Silva told a news conference that the entire transaction needed to be investigated because of the discrepancy between the price listed by the Rolls Royce Company and the price stated in the Customs declaration.

“The Customs has released the car after a payment of Rs.61 million by way of taxes on the declaration made by the importer that the luxury vehicle cost only US$175 000. But the Company says otherwise. It states that the Rolls Royce Ghost car costs nearly US$350 000, which means that the tax has to be twice the amount paid. We are not complaining or saying that anyone has stolen anything, what we are asking is for a transparent investigation into the matter,” Dr. De Silva said.

Who knows after the CHOGM (assuming it will be held in SL) Hitlerpaksha may rename the cars from “Rolls Royce” to “Rajapassa’s Rolls”. This will be in keeping with the proposed name changes of several streets in Colombo and the suburbs!!

After Sirima Bandaranayake held Non Aligned Movewment summit in 1976 in Sri Lanka, people had so suffer two long years with no food and long Bread lines for two long years.

Only God knows who many years we will have to suffer after holding The CHOGM summit in November this year.

Also Rajapakses are spending 15 Billion Rupees for next Asian youth Games….while people are starving without food and we never won a single medal in last five asian, commonwealth games or Olympics.

CHOGM with Rolls Royce going to be a Sri Lankan Rajapakes Hambanthota Comedy show off stunt in Gangnam style.

Better Govt. supply some Sri Lankan Saiman with Bullock carts “gon karatte” to show Sri Lanka’s proud heritage and save on gasolene and promote environmental friendly transport.

Please someone blame this also to muslims… Government is using other issues (like the ongoing muslim and monks issues, halaal issue) to cover up what they are doing and our people also responding to it.

Dear all, I was out of the country for a while and that’s why I could not respond earlier.

The RR Ghost was imported by Prestige Automobiles Limited who is the official BMW Dealer is Sri Lanka. BMW is also the parent company of Rolls Royce so it all makes sense.
They wanted to be the first to get it down and they did it and BRAVO to them! The whole transaction was done in a most transparent manner and everything was done in order.
Pls. do not listen to all these other rumours going around. This is really the First Rolls Royce brough down to SL available to anyone who can afford it. The price tag indicates that it will be the most expensive car ever sold in SL once the suitable person buys the vehicle.
Of course I’m with you all on the other underhand stuff happening in our country at present. But pls. belive me on this as I know that this is the pure truth about this issue.
    Have a great day!

Finally we know the truth! The owner is Mr. Danesh De Silva, Chairman of the Avenra Group of companies. So many people who posted lies, nonsense and stupid stories about this can look in the mirror and consider them selves as the stupidest people on earth!
Well done to a self made entrepreneur who bought the first Rolls Royce in Sri Lanka!
