Southern Provincial Council member M.K. Kasun and his wife were arrested by the Thalangama Police after the duo assaulted a bus driver.
Kasun is the son of notorious thug ‘Chandi Malli’ of Beliatte and a supporter of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
The incident was captured on camera by a person in a bus at the Talangama-Koswatte junction. The video shows Kasun attacking the bus driver along with his wife who is seen brandishing a pistol.
It is reported that the victim was driving a Route 177 bus that plies between Kaduwela and Kollupitiya. He had been stopped at the Talangama-Koswatte junction and assaulted.
The reason for the assault has not yet been ascertained.

After the local government elections the true colors of Pohottuwa is seen. This act and the Rambukwella son’s act clearly shows that law and order in the country has gone to dog. Unfortunately we will see that the President when he gets the call from Mahinda he will say yes sir and release these guys. Under emergency laws these guys cannot get bail. Persons who were arrested for trying to loot artifacts are sent to jail for 14 days. What about the husband and wife who threatened and attacked a driver during emergency? How many days are they going to jail or are they going to be bailed out immediately? What about Keheliya’s son who was driving drunk and threatened two students with his gun, he was set free just because the students withdrew their complaint. Isn’t there law to lock this thug as well under emergency for disturbing peace and carrying a gun? Over to you Minister of Justice.
