Prageeth Ekneligoda who has been missing since January 2010 under mysterious circumstances has had no links to the LTTE, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Homagama Courts on Tuesday.

The CID came to this conclusion based on the investigations carried out at ten government organisations including inquiries conducted with the Deputy IGP and Commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force, where it came to light that that Ekneligoda had no links to the LTTE, and no legal action was instituted against him at any point on grounds that he had supported the LTTE or for having links with the group.

This was the easiest cover for the last govt. murder, white van anyone irrespective of Sinhala, Tamil, Priest or Politician and label him as a LTTE or LTTE supporter and cold blooded murders were ignored.

Who could have killed PE and why is speculated, correctly I would suggest – by many. The media has done a remarkable job. At whose the order to abduct him and eventually to do away with him is well known. For every innocent Prageeth E hundred innocent Tamils were abducted and “went missing” – with nary a care. That was the law of the land then. That the perpetrators were not caught and remain playing leading political roles is a sad indictment of our system of governance – Police, legal and Courts. Our people are divided. There is bitterness and suspicion everywhere. Wars weaken even strong, healthy societies. This is universal. It is in peace time a decent society asks the questions, looks for the reasons and takes preventive action so this does not recur. The very integrity of Sri Lanka, until recently a once vibrant and peaceful democracy, is at stake.
Have we done enough to make amends to restore our united society?

Eknaligoda was murdered for writing a booklet on the Rajapakses family tree and sending human ashes to Mahinda R on a consisttant basis.The Rajapakses are superstitious and believe in black magic and Ekneligoda was a threat to them and when this happens Gota takes care.

That is the nature we saw in Rajakashses. Even today, knowing the buddhist temples are the places being respected by Innocient folks… he always let his all angers being in temple premises.

If CID now says PE had no link with LTTE, then who gave the orders for him to be detained as suspected LTTE links and what was the outcome?
