President Keeps Law And Order Ministry Under Him As UNP Plans Continuous Protests

While the United National Party is planning to continue its fight against the prorogation of Parliament and the appointment of a new Prime Minister, President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to keep the Ministry of Law and Order under him.

Taking part in a political discussion on a private TV channel, a short while ago, UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa said the President had decided to keep the Law and Order Ministry, which overlooks the Police, under his purview.

This comes in the wake of Sirisena’s accusations that the Police did not properly investigate into the alleged conspiracy to assassinate him in which, the President said, a UNP Cabinet minister was also involved.

Meanwhile, UNP Parliamentary group members Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, Wasantha Senanayake, Suresh Vadivel took oaths in their new positions today while Ananda Aluthgamage, who was the first UNP MPs to offer support to Rajapaksa, also received a deputy minister’s post.

The new Cabinet members appointed today are as follows,

Mahinda Rajapaksa: Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs.

Nimal Siripala de Silva: Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation.

Dr. Sarath Amunugama: Minister of Foreign Affairs

Mahinda Samarasinghe: Minister of Ports and Shipping

Mahinda Amaraweera: Minister of Agriculture

Ranjith Siyambalapitiya: Minister of Power and Renewable Energy

Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe: Minister of Education and Higher Education

Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa: Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs

Faiszer Musthapha: Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Sports

Douglas Devananda: Minister of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development, & Hindu Religious Affairs

Arumugam Thondaman: Minister of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development.

Vasantha Senanayake: Minister of Tourism and Wildlife

Suresh Vadivel: State Minister of Plantation Industries

Ananda Aluthgamage: Deputy Minister of Tourism and Wildlife.

what does tye release of Mahasohana leader’s release means ?

    1) possible president or MR sends clear message he or one of them were responsible for Digana attacts

    2) as per elections comminsioner a lot of Sinhalese were happy over tye attacks ,this could be to winntye UNP O sinhalese votes.

    3) To impliment the stripping of Citizenships of Moors who are unabke to produce grandparents of paternal and maternal birth and death certificates ,a long planned move to permenantly break the UNP’S tradtional die hard allies since independence and first Prime Mnister ,The Ceylon Moors ,a sinsiter move to avoid international condemnation unlike the Myanmar actions. semnatio

what are The Moors reactions ?
kandy Muslims feel betrayed by b Minister Faizer Mustafa for not preventing tge realease .

Ceylonmoors feel they are singled out only because of tgeir political alliance to UNP.

Bondscam Ranil destroyed the economy of Lanka and the rupee continues to nose dive. He was also playing Constitutional and de-limitation games for 3 years and de-valued the constitution. For 3 years Ranil protected Mahinda Jarapassa and corrupt family, to divide the SLFP. Thus, not a single corrupt Rajapaksa has been indicted after 3 years of Ranil’s Jarapalanya govt.
Bondscam Ranil who has been dancing to Trump-land’s tunes is ow caught in his own trap and squealing about Justice and the Constitution. What a bloody awful JOKE!
The clown Sira should have impeached Bondscam Ranil long ago for looting the Central Bank and selling the country to US Economic hit men. Ranil is dangerous to the health of the Sri Lankan nation and should step aside and not cause further destruction in the country, whose economy in shambles after 3 years of neoliberal -IMF-MCC “reforms” and Fake aid from USA.

Bye Bye Bondscam Ranil, time to pack bags and call it quits. You have ruined Lanka’s economy, political culture and the UNP, and turned parliament into a Cesspit of Corruption with MR as your partner and competitor.
Even the Colombo stock Market is up and likes Jarapassa; is it a strongman Trump effect?!!
Of course we still have to deal with Clown Sira who should have impeached RW for the Central Bank Scam when the PCOI Report came out and asked Sajith Premadasa or another UNP to lead govt. We now have to monitor strongman MR, who has hopefully learned a lesson from his defeat in 2015.
Elections in a year’s time will be best thing.

          Lanka Rani

“Bye Bye Bondscam Ranil, time to pack bags and call it quits.”

I am with you. Ranil must go if he is proven to have benefited from the scam.
Does it mean crooks who are being investigated for murder, robbery, corruption, ……………… should replace a suspected bond scammer?

Could you explain to us the mechanics of this scam and the total amount that was swindled from this bond scam.

            Native,
“Could you explain to us the mechanics of this scam and the total amount that was swindled from this bond scam”
I believe you are in for a very long wait.
You expect Lanka Rani to explain it when even Dr. DJ can’t?

              old codger

I have been waiting since early 2015.
None of the Bond Scam bashers have responded to my stupid sounding question. I need to know the facts so that I could bash Ranil.

Am I annoying you with same question?

Maithri visited Seashells for his commission for the sale of the Colombo port (JK). Ranil refused to sell it to the Chinese. Pissed off Chinese threatened to expose Maithri which resulted in him trying to oust Ranil.

          Aiyoo Sirisena !

        Who destroyed anything ?

I think Rajakshe destroyed almost multi times than RW

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUPa6l1mOOc&t=823s

Indians say somthing else about RW and MR.
They dont like MR but in the same time, they have no special contact with RW.
But India repeats Rajakshe is China man.
Latter is right, since Rajakshe s stupidity sold our properties to China.
RW had no other ways than go for it.
So who started the mess ? Ranil or Mahinda ?

Mahinda had been so headless chicken as is Sirisena. Or not

Hold on, hold on, what is this about Ceylon Moors?
As kids, we learnt about the involvement of Ceylon Moors and Ceylon Malays (are they the same?) in Sri Lanka’s independence struggle. (T.B. Jayah comes under national heroes list in the Social Studies book.)
There is a move to striping of their citizenship by birth? How come? There is a standard practice to strip of anybody’s citizenship.
One’s political allegiance is not a basis for such annulment unless otherwise they engage in anti-state activities.
About birth and death certificates, why it is hard to get them? Every birth or death is registered.
I don’t have any idea of this move.
This is to Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, Co-Prime Minister. Could you please look into this matter and take action to safeguard their civil and political rights, if necessary. Thank you.

I have a pukka explanation as to how the government changed. Indeed, the entire change was orchestrated by a conspiracy hatched at the World Food Programme. Let me explain. In March 2015, a popular nutritionist and employee of the World Food Programme by the name of Visakha Tillekeratne wrote an article to the Colombo Telegraph with the screaming headline – President Sirisena, Control Ranil & Others Before It Is Too Late! This set the ball rolling. Beats Wimal Weerawansha’s RAW-NGO conspiracy init?

Mahinda has balls. Don’t say ‘Eeeeeeya’ Champa style. I don’t mean the more important rarely visible ones- but those that are clearly visible in the picture. They are the secret to his success.
    .
Someone once said, “You don’t buy a Harley Davidson with your mind, you buy it with your heart and your balls”. Similarly, Mahinda does not rule with his mind (He has no mind anyway). Neither does he rule with his heart (He certainly has no heart). But he has balls and he rules with them.
    .
On the other hand Ranil does not rule with his balls. He cannot even if he tries, because there is none. He may claim that he has a couple of good ones. But the truth is that he hasn’t. That is why when he steps on a rake accidentally, he does not cry out in pain. No balls – No pain. That also explains his calmness in the face of calamities that should be more painful than stepping on rakes.
    .
Whatever other shortcoming that Mahinda has, a shortage in the balls department is not one of them. Salma Hayek, the vivaciously beautiful Hollywood actress, claims that she keeps waiting to meet a man who has more balls than she does. I must tell her, “Lady, you have not met our Mahinda. He has more balls than you and Angelina Jolie put together”. And that is in addition to his ability to act in all kinds of roles – MP, PM, President, PM, President, … you name it – he has done it.

If you says so, then Wimal Weerawanse too should be named as a person with balls ( though he is just a school drop out)

What aobut Juliampitya Amare – he too should have balls.

What about that guy who stabbed the visiting Britsh tourists – he should have balls

Please focus on the law values that GAMARALA has made here that is the need of the hour.

I would rather have anyone with brains than balls any day to rule the country

      • 1

Raj, sure, I would rather have the same, if ruling was what I was interested in. To rule you must have people in the first place. And to have people you must have balls. In fact the less brain you have the better you would be equipped in that sort of job.

Advice to the people is don’t get involved in a loosing battle,.

If RW does not even now handover the power to Sanity, even if the parliament is convened in 10 Mts from now RW will loose, almost 80% of the UNPers are waiting to crossover to MR. See how even. the grandson of the father of UNP mocked Ranil and The entire UNP and crossed over.

RW will never give Sanith a chance as long as he lives so we are now going. to witness the saddest day of UNP as RW bury the party for good.

Poor Sajith and all. his hard work.

Once the parliament convenes only a small handful UNP members will remain mainly those who are aged and those who can not secure a seat by a vote and few loyalists like Sanith Premadasa.

Even. The entire Alliances will crossover.

Sajth is the only hope not RW, don’t go to the Streets and endanger your lives to a man who ignored the poor, needy and the Honest.

He is paying his karma. This is his end, sad part is he is dragging the entire party to his grave.
He is paying for Malik’s Sins.

How dare you create a fake garbage crisis and let your goons earn millions a month, while we have to even be bullied and harrassed by the council garbage collecters even after paying them in thousands they refuse to remove it and demand more, you did nothing, you let Mafias of all sections operate freely, FROM DESTROYING NATURAL RESOURCES TO Murders, TO DRUGS, YOU DID NOTHING, YOU ONLY TOOK CARE OF YOUR OWN ELITES.

Now let your elites save you

Dr Ranil’s Yahapalana Thero Damila Amila is going to bring their 6.2 Lakhs to Kollupitiya soon, to teach a lesson to Sira and Mara
And hoist the Rainbow Uncle Dr Ranil back on to his seat in Kotte….
Thank God Sira has taken control of the Yahapalana Police and made the UNP IGP to salute the new PM .

If Sira didn’t take over the Police just imagine the damage Damila Amila’s 6.2 Lakhs and IGP Pujitha’s UNP Cops would have done to our Port City of Colombo let alone the amount of body bags of poor Dalits in and around Colombo, who would have come to see Damila Amila and his 6.2 Million….

But what amused me most was when I heard Damila Amile talking about Jungi ( Knicker bokers ) which our Village Girls wear.
I thought Damila Amila being a Yahapalanista would have been more upmarket, and talked about Bikinis..

Anyway, Even with the Police under control, Dr Ranil’s Boy Ranatunga took his Body Guards to cover up his Dodgy deals at the Port Office and killed two innocent workers there..

Wonder whether those Body guards were provided by IGP Pujitha?…..

“Dr Ranil’s Boy Ranatunga took his Body Guards to cover up his Dodgy deals at the Port Office and killed two innocent workers there..”

      You maybe right.
Ranatunga would have sensed the danger of being exposed or charged if Dr Mahinda is allowed to sit on his piles used the files against him or blackmailed to recover parts of commissions already paid to Ranathunga and transfer it clan’s joint accounts.

After all Dr Mahinda and Ranathunga are Sri Lankan politicians of many years. What else do you expect?

    Forget everything

    Make a fresh start

Whether right or wrong, the appointment of new PM & parliament prorogation

Conflicts are costly for the country

Dissolve the house & go for an election.

Ban parties contesting jointly (sandhana) as it makes political party concept ridiculous.

    Discourage racially based parties.

The essence of this action is to take the police under his wings. Further, to create a ministry, which means more opportunities for bureaucrats. He could have transferred the Police Department to the Ministry of Defence, which he chose not to do. Alas the public acceptability of the police has gone for a six, not that this takeover would improve the situation. I have always maintained that with the transition of Jan 8, 2015, Sri Lanka became a police state from a military state. The situation is so bad that we now see that a DIG, now interdicted by the Police Commission, involved in an assassination attempt. But mark my words. MY3 will find a bigger headache than he expected.

I think President is keeping law and order under him so that he can protect his sarong. In one meeting he mentioned to the public, wearing a sarong he cannot join Mahinda. Now he is scared some one will come and remove his sarong.

I guarantee the NGOS are very powerful today they will. Help turn the country to Civil. War.

The avantegsurd weapons are in. Many hands, watch. And wait.
If The president dies not turn. Things around there will. Be a civil. War, 100%

None of the Presidents we have had, possess the competence and qualities demanded of a person endowed with such massive power . This is essentially one reason for our current problems.
