President To Amend Gazette On Subject Allocation Of Ministries

President Maithripala Sirisena will amend the Gazette notification relating to the subject allocation of ministries.

Kiriella

Colombo Telegraph learns that under the amended Gazette, state banks and estate companies owned by the state would be brought under the Ministry of State Enterprise, Hill Country Development and Kandy Heritage, held by Lakshman Kiriella.

State banks are currently under the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media, held by Mangala Samaraweera.

President Maithripala Sirisena, at the last Cabinet meeting, had promised to resolve the issue relating to the subject allocation at Kiriella’s ministry.
When the matter was raised at the Cabinet meeting yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, President Maithripala Sirisena said the Gazette notification on the subject allocation was “hurried” due to various factors.

Sirisena promised to resolve the issues relating to Kiriella’s ministry, admitting that the current allocation was a “mistake”.

As per the Gazette issued by President Sirisena last week, Kiriella only received four minor institutions – namely Ceylon Ceramic Corporation, KESCO, BCC Company and the State Resources Management Corporation – that are on the verge of bankruptcy.

    President Sirisena,

RE: President To Amend Gazette On Subject Allocation Of Ministries

Thanks for correcting the “oversight” and “error”. No need for confusion. Humans often do make errors. Even Gods sometimes make errors.

Can you also amend the Gazette notification removing Ravi Penthouse, and giving the Ministry of Law and Order to Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka? You can gain a little of of your lost credibility.

        Sinhala Man,

Will he just like he appointed Ranil Wickranasinghe? Somebody need to make the request to Sirisena, tell there is no need for you to announce that you will resign, and perhaps, perhaps he may be re-elected again as President a second time.

Who knows? It is the circle of Sirisena. Says one thing, announces another thing and does something completely diffferent. Then, he repeats with a new circle. Everybody is baffled . Some say he is a joker.

        What do you think?

      OMG!

What is wrong with our President?

He is nothing but a “Dr Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” or better put in a language most would understand as “Re Daniel Daval Miguel”.

I wonder what other madness we are to experience before the this year ends. Luckily for us the Armed forces and the Police stood aside watching the drama that unfolded during the “52 Days of Madness”. If not, I wonder if our country would have come out unscathed violently but devastated economically when HE unleashed his personal jealousy and animosity on his own Prime Minister.

Our President needs to be impeached before he does any more damage to our blessed country which is just trying to stagger back from the 30 years of civil strife that was brought upon us by another madman Prabhakaran.

The President nearly crippled the burgeoning tourist industry with his now infamous “52 Days of Madness”, now he is unable to allocate his ministers the appropriate ministries, he is keeping the key ministry of Law & Order, which he tried to usurp using his influence by trying to transfer Inspector of Police Nishantha de Silva, out of the CID, during the “52 Days of Madness”.

All his actions since October 26, 2018 has been carried out, not with a sane mind and hence we Sri Lankans would need to know why our President is acting in such a strange way. The BIG question that we need to ask ourselves is whether the pressures of the Presidency has unscrewed a few nuts in our President’s head.

    Dear My3,
    .
I wrote this a few hours ago:
    .
“Some truth in that. My3 certainly started off with good intentions, but what a failure – like Brutus”.
    .
And it is now live here:

    .
I’ve always entertained a higher opinion of you than most others. I won’t even be surprised to find out that you’ve struggled through this play, seeing that it may be the best know Shakespeare play in Sri Lanka.
    .
Many forget that poor Brutus is the protagonist of the play. Again and again you are proving yourself to be like Brutus; never able to make up your mind. Always imagining your self the most moral guy around. Always making mistakes, but refusing to come to terms with the fact that Cassius was a better strategist.
    .
    Yes, you are doomed.

He should have given all of them out, including police.

Is there a way out of the current quagmire?

Why is no one considering depriving MR & MS of their civic rights as JR’s Govt had done for Sirima? Is there not a long list of crimes listed in some CT articles & comments perpetrated against the many people’s of SL by MR and now in cohort with MS who was chosen by CBK & Co to undo and reduce MR”s damages to the body politic of SL. Did not MR win the presidency through deceit & fraud by bribing the LTTE? Did not his family, clan and relatives handle about 60 to 70 % of the SL’s finances during his horrendous primarily self-serving reign and then claiming undue and fake credit for the defeat of the LTTE which was primarily enabled by the coalition of 20 to 30 countries?

Won’t this help break up the unholy triangle of MR, MS, & RW and recreate three parallel paths? Until MR & MS too are eventually replaced by others akin to the days of Gamini Dis, Lalith Athu & Rane Preme? The political parties may be different but are not the crux of these problems similar to and with the gaudy triple egos ahead of the people’s interest? Is it not likely to metamorphose with the disadvantage of the unavailability of the LTTE to do the dirty work now in contrast to then?

Why won’t “Friday Forum” and other intellectuals and many varied activists like Ariyaratne of the Deshodhya movements do something through the highest court in the land as was the case in relation to the “Land rights” of the aboriginal peoples of Australia when both of the two main parties failed them repeatedly for over two centuries? Should not the SC of SL rise to the challenge to recreate and invent more just and appropriate laws at this crucial juncture where the rule of law and democracy is at stake? Are people for the constitution or is the constitution for a select pampered group of greedy, corrupt, businessmen and deranged politicians?

It’s good to allocate subject allocation to ministries. It eliminates confusion and creates proper management of affairs. But one thing is that subject matters should be given to people who can do the work given.. People of this country are no more fools who can fooled by slogans alone.
The time is running out for the executive and the governing party. People are watching especially an impartial judiciary and forces also watching. SO HURRY UP GUYS!

President is correctly gazatted early because county knows how Kiriella govern his institutes and his portfolios with corruptions and commissions and bribes.nothing has don other than corruption . just because of Ranil’s liker he is not suitable for a minister.see how Kandy people are suffering due to closure of the main road through Maligawa. There is no justifiable reason to close the road other than ego of the monks.

      WB Samarakoon

Maligawa is one of the most sacred places of Buddhists so keep that road closed for ever & maintain calm & quiet environment there.

If possible divert traffic flowing from Katugastota as well, down the Colombo street to make the place more convenient for people.

It’s well known that some, with no respect for this place trying hard to open the road for their personal convenience/gain.

Instead of using that road see the possibility of making a new road directly through DS S college over the lake, that’s affordable rather than making long tunnel to Tannekumbura. (for a certain politician to gain a big commission).

Take DSS college to outskirts of the town with more space & facilities for students.

As Dharmaraja college is next to DDS there’s no practical purpose to have another school there.

Maithripala Sirisena’s performance(s) should qualify him for a modern-day Shakespeare to chronicle them. The problem is going to be whether they should be cast as a comedy beyond compare or a monumental tragedy for Sri Lanka.

The Island today reports that, the National Lotteries Board and the Development Lotteries Board has been placed under the purview of Power and Energy and Enterprise Development Minister Ravi Karunanayake. What type of skulduggery is Ranil up to ? RK wants to be in control of huge cash cows like the lotteries board because he is a proven kleptomaniac and wants to dip his slippery hands into the till. He is a thief. A common thief.

Kiriella to be given back what he lost?

    It’s the mistake Mr. President.

If RW insists his presence in the cabinet, convince him to make LK, minister without portfolio.

That’ll reflect a kind of stability in the country.

Amarasiri – How about you asking his excellency, since you know him, to amend the gazette notification
to remove himself so that our Ambassadors can move around the globe and do some work for the Govt.
Now they cannot do any work as they are 1st asked about the health condition of the Prez and other embarrassing Q&As

There are allegations that some MPs have dual citizenship. According to the 19th Amendment a person with dual citizenship cannot be a MP. To clear the air, all MPs should be asked to provide affidavits declaring that they do not hold dual citizenship. Anyone found guilty for giving false information should be send to jail immediately and measures should be taken to recover all the public money paid to that MP from the day 19th Amendment came into effect.

    * Sumanthiram says the New Constitution will be presented before 4th February.
    * Kiriella says draft constitution that abolish Executive President post and strengthen the Parliament will be presented to the Constitutional Council next week. There is a high probability that the devolution package that TNA is demanding is included in that.
    * JVP politicians say even a draft for a constitution does not exist.
Oh Boy! What is going on? We the public in this country have a right to know.
Is Sumanthiram who holds the remote control of UNP Government trying to do some jugglery and produce a Draft Constitution through the backdoor and get it passed?

“Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake claimed yesterday that extremist groups in the North and South were attempting to create a story that a new Constitution would be brought in soon knowing full well that this could not happen due to the composition of parliament at present..
    Daily Mirror 2019-01-03″

Nobody understands how he was planning to pass his proposed 20th Amendment in the parliament where members of UNP and SLFP were at each other’s’ throat, with flying bible, chairs, watered chairs, butter knife wielding Thewaraperumas, Chilly escapes ……………. it was pantomime for early Christmas.

And note what he says ” extremist groups in the North and South were attempting to create a story that a new Constitution would be brought in soon” implying Sumanthiran and Sampanthan were extremists. Look who is talking.

“There is a high probability that the devolution package that TNA is demanding is included in that.”

Please let us why you are afraid of a devolution package. Remember the devolution is not just for a particular minority but it will apply right across the island. This is a rational question and we will be grateful if you could answer it rationally if you could. You could have your panic attack and enjoy being paranoid later.

The genuineness of the oversight is to be seen only upon the correction of the same to the satisfaction of the aggrieved. Alas! all those domiciled in that ancient capital of Sri Lanka are viewed as incredible.
