Rajapakse At Last Minute Postponed His Travel By 24 Hours, Diaspora To Protest Today

By Westminster Insider –

At 06:30 hrs BST (British Summer Time) 04-06-12 Scotland Yard informed diaspora activists that Mahinda Rajapakse has departed Colombo . A place has been allocated in front of Hotel Hilton, Park Lane, London for demonstration against Rajapaksa.

Rajapakse

Rajapakse changed his travel plans at the last minute due to massive disruptions planned by activists. Officers On Watch and security details were changed every 2 hours at Colombo -similar to the civil war- to prevent information seeping out. Scotland Yard Firearms Officers were actively encouraging protests at Heathrow yesterday told protesters they would do the same if their families had suffered like Tamils.

It is now apparent, that Rajapakse’s travel plans were disrupted by diaspora activists even before he returned from Bangkok. He was due to depart Colombo on Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 503 on 03-06-12. With news seeping out of his itinerary diaspora activists targeted this flight. Over 1,000 protestors arrived at Heathrow waving flags and chanting slogans. Such a disruption is unprecedented since the ending of the civil war.

Scotland Yard suggest protests be carried by carried out today as well outside Dorchester and Hilton hotels, but  a place has been already allocated in front of Hotel Hilton, Park Lane, London for demonstration against Rajapaksa.

As of 23:00 hors BST 03-06-12, there were no police sentries outside the Dorchester Hotel. However, there was heavy police presence at the Hilton Hotel in Park Lane with every entrance and exit covered. A police sergeant confirmed that the President of Namibia was staying there. No doubt, many other VIPs will lodge there as well. Also two police sentries mounted guard outside the Sri Lankan High Commission in Hyde Park Gardens.

Meanwhile Colombo based Daily Mirror quoting Presidential Spokesman Bandula Jayasekara says, President Mahinda Rajapaksa already arrived in London to attend the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee celebrations. And Colombo Based Sunday Times quoting  Spokesman for the President’s office says President Mahinda Rajapaksa  and Ms Rajapaksa left for Britain last night to attend the diamond jubilee celebrations.

And this Rajapakse bugger who slunk into Britian like a criminal has delusions of grandeur in Lanka – claiming at Poson Poya that Sri Lanka is cut above all other countries and morally superior because of the brand of militarized Buddhism he is marketing to fight “terrorism”. What an insult to a religion based on principles of non-violence. The Buddhist of the world should rise up and protest this abuse!

Do you need this kind of welcome in a unwelcomed country Mr President?

First in Oxford Union for a single unimportant speech. Now this Queens anniversary which has no meaning for our nation.

You are a President of a nation and not a lobbyist.

Where is your pride? Once upon a time we were a proud nation

All these circus not to do a reconcilliation?

Mrs. Rajapakse being a Catholic, the Pope gladly gives an audience to President Rajapakse. The Vatican is also concerned of the safety of their Bishop,.

Even before arrival on British soil, the President of Sri Lanka is running scared. It is already an interesting week in London. There cannot be other last minute cancellations for the other events in London, unless the President decides to stay in the Hotel.

Kalyana, Tamils are the bloody dogs, they do not have any ahame, after loosing heavily, still battle for their wet dreams. U are totally wrong, what Presidemnt has done is all right. You do not try to bring your undermind personal anger & jelous over the president. If he does not attend the ceremony only it brings shame to the country. Further u can what sort of dirty culture currently practising in the UK, even Scotland Yard police statements are not ethical at all. Directly supporting a terror group is it ethical?

The diaspora will express its anger and frustration during the visit of President naturally and will make the British government know ostensibly that all the British Tamils will rally behind the anger than celebrating the diamond jubilee of the Her Majesty. The absence of British Tamils from the planned celebration and appearance at Heathrow demonstrates the importance of rejection of war criminal in British Soil.
The suggestion of Channel-4 should be taken very seriously to CHANGE THE FOREIGN POLICY ON SRI LANKA. The momentum of this campaign should not be let down and mooted to take the form of elaborate campaign to change the foreign policy on Sri Lanka. It must be the target for Tamils for Labour, Tamils for Conservatives, All-party parliamentary group of Tamils and All-party parliamentary group of Sri Lankans. British government alone has a greater responsibility to the plight of Tamils of Sri Lanka today. Not only the British should be answerable but many of the political and civil rights violations took place under British Dominion of Ceylon. 1956 and 1958 anti-Tamil riots (pogroms) took place under the British dominion Rule. Nearly one million upcountry Tamil lost their civic rights. Tamils lost the language rights and one language brought about two nations. It is under British colonial rule and British dominion the colonisation took place and changed the demography of Tamil nation. Let us not forget, THE HEAD OF STATE OF BRITISH DOMINION OF CEYLON WAS UNDER THE CONTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY OF THE SAME QUEEN UNTIL 1972.

The UK government, specially the FCO civil servants has much more to answer on the involvement and support they provided for Project Beacon of Sri Lanka. Project Beacon provided military solution to ethnic problem in Sri Lanka and supported by the West. British went further to support Genocidal war on Tamils by providing Military advice and hardware. Even after the mass protest of British Tamils in London, they have continued their support. Unless the foreign policy iof British government is changed they will continue to support the structural genocide that is continued to take place in Sri Lanka.

Thousands are languishing in the prisons. The people who have released are taken back to Boosa military camps under PTA. Tamils are uprooted from their traditions habitat. The restitution of the victims had been with held. Trauma treatment of the victims have been abandoned in the Vanni and other victims. Education has been disrupted….

Let us divert our attention to something constructive after the Supreme Commander of Sri Lankan Defence Force leaves the British Soil.

When Saroja says that “all the British Tamils will rally behind…”, she speaks for HER SELF. As a Sri Lankan (not “British”) Tamil living in the UK, let me tell her that the demonstrations at Heathrow and outside the Hilton are carried out by a minority of Eelam hardliners. The vast majority of the 200000 or so Tamils in the UK, stay away mainly because they do not want to associate themselves with these hoodlum. The Tamils here have other problems in their normal lives to contend with.

Since she thinks she speaks for all Tamils, is she also answerable to the human rights abuses of the Tigers, if not why not? These so called British Tamils appear to have acquaired a characteristic British trait – hypocrisy. If she thinks the whites care about the Tamils (even if they are of the “British” stripe), let me tell her that quite frankly my dear, they just do not give a damn.

Well Mr Nathan you are speaking for yourself as well. I am a proud British Tamil and so are my family and friends. We as in my family and friends were only too happy to shed the tainted Sri Lankan identity.

It seems to be a Sri Lankan airline flight during the day and not a night arrival as scheduled.
