Despite government Minister Rajitha Senarathne accusing Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara of maintaining links with the Tamil Diaspora, the photograph published alongside his claims have in fact revealed the men posing on either side of the monk are actually strong government supporters or anti-LTTE people.
The image that is being circulated with Rajitha’s accusations against Gnanasara had been taken last year during his visit to France. The person standing on the right corner has been identified as EPRLF member Devasan while the individual standing right next to Gnanasara on his right has been identified as Sunil Gamini.
Sunil Gamini who had been earlier employed as a coordinating secretary to Government Minister Susil Premajayantha had absconded while he was on an official tour to Europe and had sought asylum afterwards. Colombo Telegraph learns that every individual in this image are frequent travellers to Sri Lanka.
Minister Senarathne has been repeatedly highlighting links between Gnanasara and the Tamil Diaspora and the most recent claim was made during his participation in a talk show in Neth FM – a private radio station in Sri Lanka.
In response to a query by an individual who claimed he was a monk, identifying himself as Kirama Devinda, Rajitha has stated that Gnanasara has maintained a close affiliation with the UNP, Tamil Diaspora and the LTTE. He alleges Gnanasara met Diaspora officials in Norway and that the trip was funded by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake.
He claims he possesses photographic evidence to prove his allegations.
Colombo Telegraph failed to reach MP Karunanayake to obtain a response on the allegations made by Minister Senarathne.
“Upon his return from Norway he met me and informed that he wholeheartedly agrees with my opinions about the war. That day we concluded our meeting agreeing to forget the past and to organise a Convention with the participation of over 1000 sanghas (monks). However, the pledge could not be kept as Gnanasara became involved in anti-Muslim campaigns with just a month into the meeting,” Rajitha claims in his interview with Neth FM.

This man in safran robes has no view at all. His changes time to time for some reasons. If he is a real buddhist monk, he could have raised a bigger voice at the time the war was at its heights. This photograph is much worrying to know that BBS is making headway with many forces not just among Sinhalese but Tamils. EPRLF stooges lost the confidence of Tamils and SLA much before they escaped to India. Their human rights violations no way holier than any of their adversaries. Now these Tamils have entered into politics to divide Tamils much further in the name of Dalit project with good-intended Tamils. I think you have lost your bearings. You put me as a person against the reconciliation and unity among Tamils.
Read the articles written by me on these subjects. What we discuss is about Rajitha’s connection with the. LTTE. Since 1973, we watch how the Tamil population was trying to corner the Sinhalese as their enemies. In 1973, the Tamil Engineers who used to work with me and other Sinhala Enginners refused to sit on the same table and eat with us when we all were working in Singapore. Then one Tamil Engineer drop the bomb and told us that they were instructed by the Tamil associations not to keep company with Sinhalese. But still we help the Tamils and after the war was completed in 2009, took the stand that if SL need to be a country we should treat Tamils in the North in a equal basis.
But Rajitha, to my knowledge was supporting the LTTE, not because he wanted to devalue the powers to Tamils, but. He was having other agendas. When Sirani Bandaranayake CJ 43 was removed from her post Rajithawas in the fore front . What about GSF was on trial, he was supporting MR and at that time he had many perks provi ded by MR. Today he is not recognise by MR, as his numbers are up.
We all agree MR and others did many wrongs to Tamil population, but Rajitha is not discussing them openly as he knows his secrets are known to GR and MR.

Any particular individual can be hired or bought from any community over the counter with perks, ministerial portfolio, picture pause with any Rajapakse or threat from the military or its gang.
