What a great speech . Thank You Dr Ranil….

Will you now hand over the UNP Boss job too ?…

Better late than never. He should have “DONE” this or “FORCED” on him by the UNP after what he did to the Central Bank with the support of his colleagues like Maik, Ravi and few others behind the scenes. From that start of “Bond Scam” all what he did were unpardonable and say the least RUINED the country Politically, Economically and Socially. To Ranil W: Please never, ever dream of coming into politics. This country tolerated you for too long. I want say “Good Luck” even.

Good for UNP , He is responsible for Sajiths defeat

No one in particular is responsible for Sujith’s defeat but the Sinhala racists. It is well known propaganda that “winning of Candidate” depended on the Tamil votes. That notion was thwarted by the Sinhala racists.

    Ranil Wickremesinghe,

Well done. That is the correct action. Move on. Retire!

Now strep down from the UNP leadership, and hand over to Sajith. He is 52, young, and will certainly outlive Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa,,

Let Gotabaya and Mahinda mess up the way Yahapalanaya, Ranil and Sirisena did, or let them make progress and delver.. They certaunly will cvollect hefty commissions,.

Given below is an article from Dec 20, 2018. The handwriting was on the wall.

Pig-Headed Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Downfall! By Sharmini Serasinghe

    https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/pig-headed-ranil-wickremesinghes-downfall/

    “Sri Lanka is politically bankrupt!”

“The two main players in Sri Lanka’s political arena – the UNP and the SLFP – have outlived their lifespan. Further, each time they form new coalitions and their identities and symbols are changed more frequently than their underwear, the average voter is left so utterly confused, they don’t know who the hell they are voting for anymore, because the UNP and the SLFP have vanished into oblivion. In fact, I had to do a Google search to locate the original SLFP symbol.”

There is no legal requirement for him to resign. Royal didn’t press for it, though Old King said to respect the people mandate. But he said that in his October Coup, too. But when SLFPyers said Old King has to resign because it was hurting their party, he asked them then who was going to save his family members from the Local Courts’ cases. So there was no need for Ranil to heed to Old King’s words. But it was the Tasmanian Devils residing in his wood cabin made him made him to resign.

    Mr Wickremasinghe,
please go asap. Your departure is a blessing in disguise and a great blessing at that.
You don’t realize the anger, disgust, hatred , sorrow , agony, etc etc you have caused many a grieving family, persons and heart. You should have gone away a long time ago but you as a individual and person are a selfish, uppish, arrogant being. That is not your fault but the lack of proper love and discipline in your family background. Furthermore you are a disgrace a damned disgrace to your Alma Mater ( Royal College ).
I am a Royalist and honored to be a Royalist and would think a 10000 times before i shake your hand at any Royalist gathering.
People like you should be locked up in a dark room for all eternity and the key thrown away never to be found again. You as a politician and a educated politician at that had every opportunity to lead a country like Sri Lanka to great success, a shining example to the world that success is not only available to the western world but to all politicians and people who know how to cultivate that success. You failed miserably at every turn and even after doing so refused to accept your failures.
In conclusion your end has come so buggeroff , kindly buggeroff and stay away from public view for your presence is a black spot on a very beautiful country and that black spot spoils the entire scenery.
A lump of Dog Shit on a well landscaped garden spoils all the good work and that is what you are to all of Sri Lanka a lump of Dog Shit.

Oh dear , who taught him there’s such a thing called resignation ?
He is quite used to losing , dozens of times but without having to
worry about step down ! And why now ? Scared or friendly gesture ?
Yes , after all what’s the difference Sajith or Gota ! All your boys , isn’t
    it Mr CLEAN BOND ?

    Ranil Wickremasinghe,
I know you are a thorough gentleman which was demonstrated soon after you were defeated earlier. But now it is time for rebuilding the UNP with a solid foundation. All these years there were some some hounds who came after you on the pretext of helping you, but were damaging the good image painted by the founders of the UNP. We are living with younger generations with a cultured appearance. As such you have to keep the suspected hounds who have created suspicions in the minds of the public at a distant and give due importance in grooming the younger generation with a broad mindset. I am sorry to state that Sajith had demolished the very foundation of the UNP by his childish behaviour. He is still under the impression that the Colombo District will be the same as Keselwatte which had proved wrong in the Presidential election. The educated younger generation are not stupid, because they expect that the Constitution and the Rule of Law cannot be subservient to security and religious fanatics. No doubt the security is vital but it does not mean that Military personals should be given priority. Remember the Tamils & Muslims voted for Sajith not out of faith in him, but to demonstrate the hatred towards Gota. Maithithri was another cunning fox on whose trap Sajith has fallen with the assistance of the suspected hounds. He is a snake under the grass who did not care about good governance. It is not too late for you to accommodate TULF Sumanthiran for good governance rather than to associate with people like Suresh Premachandran, Sivahilingam, Siddharthan and Vijayakala who always spoke out of turn and confuse the public. Accommodate people like Kumar Sangakkara,

A very senior personality, knowledgeable and bowed down to democracy. What is passed is passed. I wished he took a cue from the local government elections and mended his ways but all that is gone now. Even at this stage I am happy that the party he lead long years have basically decided to rejuvenate. Sri Lanka needs political competition and not one horse races which is a recipe for disaster through autocracy. I hope and pray that now all political leaders will work towards an inclusive society, recognizing meritocracy irrespective of gender, ethnicity, religion, caste or any other social classification.

I’m not trying to laugh at a lost PM. Ranil, you should have done this about 20 years ago and ask party to find a suitable person to lead the party. Now that you have decided to resign, please resign from all positions in the party.

Make a declaration that you are not going to contest the next general election. Can you please get your robber barons Ravi K, Laxman K and the like to do the same. We need a clean party to go the next election and build the economy. Please resign from the “Elephant Party” and promise not meddle in party affairs.
You are a nice man Ranil who did not rob like RaviK or Laxmn K but you are a serious failure. What have you got to be proud of. Please retire. We wish you all the best in advance.

what is the point of stepping down as the PM.he should step down from the UNP leadership.

I wonder whether a good strategy will be to split the UNP into a country UNP party and UNP party and make sajith the country UNP leader and karu the UNP leader and ask the MP’s to join either one.The rural urban divide is very much dividing the country and the interests of the rural and urban voters have to be met with different parties that will form a coalition. In australia this is happening.

Ranil offered the parliament’s ruling to Royals. They feared because of their experience in October, 2018. The Majority is still with UNP. Slap party cannot have their PM confirmed in the parliament. In Oct 2018 Ranil promises of no legal action over the coup menders. But TNA went with a quo warranto (, winning in that would not put Royal in legal jeopardy, but still it forced them out of cabinet.) So this time Royals don’t want to take Ranil’s word. So Ranil is going to propose an early election in the parliament with UNP-TNA support. It is up to Slap Party to vote on that and take it over.
What a unified, considerate “Ruling and opposition” party members are in the Lankawe Parliament!

Congrats to PM Mahinda. Guess old mistakes have been learnt from. More loans to pay back old loans will not work. Ranil had a terrible time getting rid of previous admin loans, so much so that he wanted to merge with India so loan repayments could dispersed onto Indians. China power is too geo-politically risky. We can only tell you to bring on the Austerity factor. More taxes off the rich, like what the Ranil admin did, will help somewhat.

Mahinda is made the prime minister of this unfortunate island.
Their “little prince in waiting” just kicked some south Indian butts from Colombo. He is embolden by the election result of his uncle who is being surrounded by other single handed war criminals.
You will never know whether the Sinhala/Buddhist saffron authors may want to include/describe this incident in Mahawamsa (Part Umpteenth) as the most ferocious battle/war waged by the little prince against nasty invading South Indian Damelas. …. A war memorial stupa to be erected in Tanjai Peria Kovil.

His career has been an unimaginable disaster to the country and a fatal encounter to the one time biggest political party the- UNP.

When nothing is genuine, everything is done only for the benefit of one man, this is the end result.

Ranil sold a falsehood to the country that he comes from an old ” elite” family and went to royal college and therefore he is the most suitable man to lead.

Both these are ideas that do not mean anything. There is nothing called good genes and your old school is a hacked idea with no meaning. But if there are believers in stupid ideas, their illusions can be exploited by rascals like Ranil, Mahendran,Ravi who will say they are elite from a big Colombo school. Now we see the truth!

Ranil is a lawyer. But the fool reads a few books and goes around saying he is an expert on everything !( remember the notorious speech in parliament? What do you know about Bonds? James bond ?) What did Ranil know about bonds?

We all know now what his personal standards are, what his ethics are, how greedy for office he is . He will now hang on to the UNP leadership and say he is a liberal and a believer in democracy.

This guy is a despicable fraud who has benefited from public life for 40 years now.

RW undoubtedly contributed a lot and falls in to the category of persons educated cultured and suitable to lead the country. Sadly he has no charisma.
He must now STEP DOWN from leading the grand old party and gracefully go into retirement and offer his advice to his successor SAJITH.
If he emulated what many world leaders did a name comes to mind JOHN KEY of NZ and left before this drubbing he could have been a happy man. Today his front liners other than the bond scam man RK who will not be wanted by the new leadership want him to quit.
Thank you for your services I am satisfied you did not rob but many of those around you robbed notably RK and made YAHAPALANAYA a joke.
The day is not far for the POHOTTUWA also to tell MR its time to retire and Aiyo Sirisena who was thoroughly unsuitable for the too

40yrs of life in politics, this man is made only to be the bestman and not the groom.

Its better for him and also the country, take retirement in politics and spend your times with reading and relaxing.

This man is doing deals with Rajapaksas and country need a younger vibrant leadership.

this BS of UNP is there today as one unit because Ranil did handle it for so long is a big lie.

RW”s resignation from Premiership is necessitated by the huge mandate received by the SLPP. But RW’s resignation from leadership is what the UNPers immediately want him to do , so that the UNP will grow in strength without any dictatorial trends that Ranil pursued in the past. Further its only right that the Leader of the Opposition is elected by Secret ballot.

Ranil has always followed a tactic of slandering his opponents, Rajapakses, Chandrika Karu, Premadasa etc at various times. He does this cleverly using his friends in the media like Sinha , late Lasantha and well placed NGO guys

He plants in our minds the idea that his opponents are corrupt or are murderers ( ranil is from royal college so he will never rob !!)

Since he is the boss of the UNP (for life), when the people believe these are corrupt people, they vote for the UNP and automatically ranil comes to power.

Now the man himself is exposed. He is the corruption of this society and the ruin of the UNP.

Asgiria asked prime minister to step down. All the Bhikkus were invoked in politics. They should preach Buddhism not socialism. Thank god China named Buddhism otherwise they will be another Sri Lanka. 1956 Bhikkus we’re responsible for racism and extremism, 1971 JVP were born to eliminate Bhikkus LTTE was born to control Bhikkus 2019. Again they Raped the Buddhism. I beg all those voted for Sajith not to give food to Bhikkus let them starve.

Ranil Wickremenariya (pardon me for the name change as he does not deserve to be called a “singhe” anymore as he is not worth even the shit of a lion), has finally paid the price for his belligerence, ego, self-pride, and meanness. He should step down directly into the grave and disappear forever from the face of the earth.

Finally, we have the most seasoned and experienced politician to be the Prime Minister.
In the current political field, there is none who can claim that title except the evergreen, popular statesman Honourable Mahinda Rajapakse.
