In an effort to ensure that the ideologies of the main two parties in the coalition government are met, a special ministerial committee representing the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has reviewed the budget proposals for 2017, drafted by Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The committee which comprised of SLFP and UNP Ministers were appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena, in consultation with Karunanayake and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The committee met early this week to discuss the budget proposal, and to ensure that the perspective of the two parties; SLFP and UNP were covered in the 2017 budget proposal, which will be presented by
Karunanayake in November.
Several ministers made up the SLFP-UNP committee, with the UNP team comprising of Ministers Malik Samarawickrama, Mangala Samraweera, Harin Fernando and Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, while the SLFP team comprised of Ministers Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Mahinda Amaraweera, Sarath Amunugama, Susil Premajayantha and Lasantha Alagiyawanna.

Where is Galleon Ravi going to raise revenue to pay Mahendran and Aloysious LKR 5 Billion year for the next 29 years.?.
Chinese loans can be negotiated , Or the great Chinese people will even write them off, if they feel the Dalits can benefit.
Will UNP mates who gave the money to PT to invest in 30 year Yahapalana Bonds do the same?.
Majority of the real SLFP inhabtants , in fact 6 Million of them are not on the PAYE list.
Only way they can be milked is by slapping them with Galleon’s VAT.
Even 15 % on Keeramin, Polsambol, and Parippu is not going to help Galleon balance the books.
Even House Maids now, as I understand, do not send enough to pay for the Luxury Imports for the Yahapalana sucking Colombo Elite.
To make things worse for Galleon’s bean counters, Yahapalana PM Batalanda Ranil’s generosity to his UNP Boys has made a big dint in the Tax Revenue too.
35 Million , to Senasinghe, plus 35 Million to the Mahavamsa Field Marshall and a whole host of others add up to fair bit .
Which also has to be recouped from the Tax payers.
Then what about the LKR 700 Million Batalanada Ranil himself forked out for his set of wheels.?.
Did some one say Batalanda has hired back Mahendran as his Chief Financial Adviser?.
