Religious Difference, Not Ideology, Will Fuel This Century’s Epic Battles

By Tony Blair

Tony Blair

The last weeks have seen a ghastly roll call of terror attacks in the obvious places: Syria, Libya, Iraq and Lebanon, as well as Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia and Pakistan. Also suffering are places where we have only in recent years seen such violence: Nigeria, and in many parts of central Africa, in Russia and across central Asia, and in Burma, Thailand and the Philippines. We can either see all of these acts of killing as separate – produced by various political contexts – or we can start to see the clear common theme and start to produce a genuine global strategy to deal with it.

The fact is that, though of course there are individual grievances or reasons for the violence in each country, there is one thing self-evidently in common: the acts of terrorism are perpetrated by people motivated by an abuse of religion. It is a perversion of faith. But there is no doubt that those who commit the violence often do so by reference to their faith and the sectarian nature of the conflict is a sectarianism based on religion. There is no doubt either that this phenomenon is growing, not abating.

Blair himself is a religious nutter.

Criminal Iraq war he initiated with fellow religious fundamentalist Bush was justified by their darker religious convictions.

I see no difference between Blair and Bin Laden. In fact, Blair killed a lot more than Bin Laden.

Blair wears classy suits and travels in secured automobiles. Mingles with so called “civilized” world leaders. While Bin Laden used to hang around in Tora Bora mountains with a scary beard. Wielding a machine gun.

But, both are driven by perverted religious fundamentalism.

    They should be brothers-in-arms.

    Cheers!

      Agree.

He converted to Catholicism because the Anglical church does not believe in confession and penence for sins, especially war crimes.

At least 7000 iraqis and another several hundred thousand Libyans are waiting for him in hell.

By the way, he would have learnt this lesson from Wendy Deng ‘between sheets’ when he was at Murdoch’s houses in London, California and New Yourk, helping his god daughters!

Dont tell me the international war criminal goes “between the sheets” in the Caribbean with Cliff Richard???

Do you specialise in holding candles?

It’s a well known fact in the field of culture that Chinese women are the best to best to keep a secret. Wendy is tough and educated and she knows the value of the shares her kids hold (no voting rights)
Mainland China has Jewish refugees from Roman times and Hitler.

      Dear Mr. Tony Blair,

“The fact is that, though of course there are individual grievances or reasons for the violence in each country, there is one thing self-evidently in common: the acts of terrorism are perpetrated by people motivated by an abuse of religion. It is a perversion of faith. This is about the hegemony of the Priests, Monks and Mullahs.

What did Karl Marx say? Religion is the opium of the masses.

What is needed is a New Guantanamo, where all the religions extremists are rounded to and jailed and made to work for their living. A kind of Gulag Archipelago.

Is capitalism, the opium of the Imperialists?

      1. Tony Blair, George Bush dog, was it the perversion of Democracy and UN Charter, oil and capitalism you used to commit the crimes in Iraq and other places?

      2. The first perversion of faith was done by Christians, yes Christians. Want to know more? Read the writings of Christopher Hitchens and Richard Hawkins, and crimes of the church.

Oh no, not this man again, accused of war crimes, shunned by Desmond Tutu, and if he starts influencing states, God save the world:

He will start a global war on religious terrorism. There will be no peace with drones and things flying all over killing people.

Buddhist terrorists take note and behave yourselves or else.

I hate Blair for his misdeeds, but he has a point:

Take Burma and Sri Lanka; religious war has started already. Buddhist terrorist are attacking and killing Muslims in Burma.

In Sri Lanka the Buddhist dominated regime has grabbed Hindu people’s lands, rape their women and destroyed their temples and built Buddhist viharas in traditional Hindu areas. Muslims and Christians are not spared either. Their mosques and churches are terrorized preventing their prayers, or destroyed.

This accumulated karma of the Buddhist terrorism will lead to some retribution, if not from God, from rulers of Blair’s caliber who can lead a global war against religious terrorism similar to war on terrorism, which Sri Lanka misused to defeat Tamil liberation movement.

Blair is responsible for many thousand deaths in Sri Lanka and in other parts of the world.

Blair has expressed the obvious. To my knowledge there is only one set of teachings that is not divisive and that is Buddhism, but only if understood and practised according to the way Buddha preached. Unfortunately we hardly see it being practised in so called Buddhist countries.

It does not matter what one believes and practices as long as one does thrust one’s believes on others. Buddhism may be the answer for your needs but not necessarily for others; what you need to do is to respect others’ choices and live and let live!

This is the same thing I tell to Sharmini Serasinghe and others who harbor this intense dislike for people who practice numerous “rituals” as “Buddhism”.

Sharmini Serasinghe is free to practice “Buddhist philosophy” as instructed by her “esteemed Guru” but please don’t try to rub this “Buddhist philosophy” on people who find it better to go worship animal tooth at Daladha Maligawa or whatever rock imprint they have at summit of mount Samanala. That is their business and Sharmini Serasinghe has no right to criticize other peoples’ faith.

I find it appalling when people who consider themselves educated and liberal minded try to teach “right” Buddhism to rural masses! It would be better for these people to really use their intelligence to question whether there is any truth in “Buddhist philosophy” — at least the way it is put in Theravada Pali Cannon.

So far Sharmini Serasinghe is mum about what she means by “Buddhist philosophy”? Whether it is Theravada, Mahayana, Zen or something else. In fact most western Buddhists do not believe in karma, nirwana and rebirth as taught in Theravadha Buddhism though that happens to be the most conservative school of Buddhism.

Islam is also an ideology and political system unlike the idea of a private religon. The West and Israel have been attacking Muslims and Islamic countries. Palestinians are suffering for the last 64 yrs in occupied Palestine. The reaction is coming in the form of Jihad which is permitted to defend ones lives and properties. Unfortunately there are some terrorists who have exceeded the limits and are killing innocent people.

Blair is correct that it is shaping up to be a major war in the Middle East. The whole region has been de-stabilised partly due to the intervention of the west in Iraq and Afghanistan. Al Qaida was created by the US to fight the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Now the genie has been released and the spectre of Jihad is over the whole region. The battle in Syria is a real threat to world peace as Syria borders Israel and the fighting is likely to draw Israel into the conflict.

Blair is supposed to be the UN peace envoy for the Middle East but has been twiddling his thumbs for the last 3-4 years. Without a solution to the Palestinian question there will never be peace in the Middle East. It is the key which the west choses to ignore.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/9806139/Tony-Blairs-record-in-the-Middle-East-is-a-sorry-one-its-time-he-quit.html

Tony Blair’s record in the Middle East is a sorry one – it’s time he quit

It’s easy to see what the former Labour prime minister gets out of his role as Middle East envoy, but harder to see what he gives back

Since Tony Blair resigned as prime minister he has devoted a great deal of his time to making money. His accounts are obscure, but it has been estimated he earns some £20 million a year. It’s clear the former British prime minister is a very rich man.

The most notable of these duties concerns his role as envoy to the Middle East on behalf of the Quartet (the UN, the US, the EU and Russia), charged with advancing reconciliation there. This position, which he started on the day he stepped down as prime minister, is of incalculable gravity. There are few conflicts across the world that possess a greater potential to create a new war.

It is more than five years since Mr Blair accepted his post, a long enough period to form a definitive judgment about how he has performed.

Overall, however, the record is dreadful. Nobody can claim that prospects for peace have grown rosier on Mr Blair’s watch – on the contrary, the past five years or so have been gloomy.

Akiva Eldar, a seasoned Israeli journalist who writes for the Al-Monitor website, told me that “if you judge by results, they are below zero”, adding that “the atmosphere between Israelis and Palestinians is getting worse”. The Road Map for peace, launched a decade ago, has fallen into disrepair. The situation is decaying so fast that William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, told the House of Commons just before Christmas that, in one to two years, it may no longer be possible for the two-state solution (which remains by far the best hope for Israel and the Middle East) to be implemented at all.

Tony Blair had been very dis-honest writing this article. Once the Communist-Capitalist cold was over, Toni Blair knows very well, Who wanted the Religion as the next target.

They have achieved that too partially by destroying many majority muslim countries. But, I wonder whether they will be able to achieve their objective.

It is the western countries and their specific allies, including Britain, who are responsible for mayhem in many muslim majority countries. Many say that it is the western spy agencies who support Wahabism in the world.

It is the Late POPE who openly declared war against ASIA saying it should battle GROUND IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM. IF some independent organization investigate what is happening in Asia the truth would be connected to the Church and to the western spy agencies. IT is a well known truth that George Bush Jr had given his blessing openly to convert India to Evangelical -Christian Ideology.

I am pretty Sure, Toni Blair would be ecstatic if Russia is in big trouble and would be open to anything as they want.

I think what Toni Blair says that any world war or any other similar wars occurring during this century will be based on religious differences.

American Capitalism and Chinese-Capitalism will not clash.
