Pin Adi King Of The Sri Lankan Media

By Pin Adi Nayake

RAJ-PUL PIN-ADI NAYAKE, Editor of the Daily News is in a class of his own, one must admit. His poison-pen outpourings, even directed at his own journalist Chairman, Mr. Bandula Padma Kumara and others of his tribe betrays a large chip on his midget frame.

Just last week he slammed Padma Kumara in a leader article asking why he didn’t apologise to President Chandrika Kumaratunga when he was charged for criminally defaming her as editor of Lakbima. He completely ignored Padma Kumara’s credentials as being in the forefront of the media campaign that led to the repeal of criminal libel – a law that would today haunt the likes of Raj-Pul Pin-Adi Nayake no end for his gutter, nay sewer brand of writing.

RajpalThen, this week, he betters himself by writing in the once venerated Daily News editorial about a web-site whose only crime was to publish a photograph of Raj-Pul Pin-Adi Nayake accepting a lap top (from which he spits venom) from his Lord and Pay Master at whose feet he must serve. Did it prick the pint-sized prick to hurt so much?

Doesn’t the management of Lake House led by Padma Kumara read what this deprived, depraved moron writes in what the rag has the audacity to brag under its masthead as “Sri Lanka’s national newspaper”. National newspaper, my foot. Taste and decency, my ass. There probably are still decent people left who read the Daily News for old times sake. Raj-Pul Pin-Adi Nayake’s personal ‘shortcomings’ (pun intended) is a sure fire fix to shoo them away.

Already the rag’s circulation has taken a dip since, in a fit of infinite madness, the government opted to take the once sacked drunk back to its fold. Pages are down to ten in the main section – probably keeping in size with the editor’s.

Raj-Pul Pin-Adi Nayake has a chequered and complex (pun intended) career. His known beginning was as a hack for President Premadasa under H.D. Mahindapala at Lake House writing critical commentaries against his current bosses in the SLFP. When Premadasa was killed Pin-Adi Nayake beat a hasty retreat from ‘Bera Gedera’ and took refuge at Wijeya Group where he was probably under a tight leash. When one of the few friends he has, Bandula Jayasekera became a somebody in the current President’s outfit, Pin-Adi Nayake was brought back to his own vomit at the ‘Bera Gedera’ and made an editor of the Sunday Observer before he was summarily sacked for sheer incompetence. He hadn’t quite mastered the art of running down political opponents of the ruling party – or had forgotten it.

His lucky stars saw bookie Thilanga Sumathipala start a newspaper and make what was arguably the most idiotic decision he made (ask him; he might confirm it) to make this jobless hack his editor. Pin-Adi Nayake took no time in ruining the paper with his ‘style’ of mud-slinging and poor Sumathipala shut down the paper even before it could sell 3,000 copies any given week. R.P. P.A. Nayake naturally began foul-mouthing his erstwhile boss and Jayasekera again came to his rescue to get him back to ‘Bera Gedera’ for the third time in his career. Where else but at ‘Bera Gedera’ can this warped, pocket edition nutter with nothing upstairs and nothing downstairs either survive, I tell you.

Not long ago, a newspaper referred to him getting a right royal slap at a lawyers dinner. Pin-Adi Nayake got the name from being a chronic, compulsive gate crasher of dinners for which he had to pay. His slavish addiction to drink was eventually his downfall. He complained to the cops that he was assaulted, but the cops charged him instead for drunken behaviour at a dinner where he shamelessly ate and drank without paying for it. The lawyer who slapped him of course was also charged. His crime? For jumping the long queue of people waiting to assault this small smelly fart, Raj-Pul Pin-Adi Nayake.

If you want to see him bumming drinks nowadays go to the Beach Wadiya. The small smelly fart is reported to be there on the free lap top given by his Lord and Master to spew hatred not just at his Lord and Master’s opponents, but more at the critics of the small and smelly fart himself.

OMG what language! For a minute I thought I was reading CDN! Is it not possible to roundly castigate someone without using foul words?

Please see CT Comments Policy, especially points 1 and 5!

Pin adi Pala’s gura Gota used foul language on Jansz; “They Will Kill You – You Dirty Fucking Shit Journalist” “You Are Pigs Who Eat Shit”

      Then Gota told Pala;

I used certain words in the context that she provoked me unreasonably, in referring to the incident, as I have pointed out above. I mean these are words that are used very commonly in America (USA) for instance, in normal usage. In fact a very high ranking officer of the American government (name withheld by this writer) met me and said about the TV programme Hard Talk and the person who does Hard Talk on BBC: ‘You know we are in the same boat… being questioned by that a_shole.’ This person was referring to Stephen Sakur who does the BBC programme Hard Talk. So this is very common usage, in USA for instance, and they use these words in normal talk

        Lak TT:-

“I mean these are words that are used very commonly in America (USA) for instance, in normal usage.”

If this is the kind of language that Gota thinks is commonly used in the USA, It just shows the kind of people Gota associated with, while in the USA.

It is no wonder that the ‘Pal Raj’ is using him, ‘The USA returned Saviour of Sri Lanka’ as his Guru!

Congratulations to CT for being forthright and
bold. This puny midget with a rat’s brain is
at the top of what was once a national institution.
Does any one care? No more. He has only paid hacks
like H.L.D. Mahindapala in Australia (for whom the

The Pin Adiya’s cesspit journalism has to be condemned.
High time they take this new species of a monkey to

      Sriyan Jayasekera,

“He is a shame for his alma mater.”

That Alma Mater has a whole network of people who have lately crept in and taken over GOSL. And eating it from inside shamelessly.

King’s offspring aside, you got Mervin’s son Malaka and his buddies, Sri Lankan Chairman, Infamous Asanga (new owner of Sunday Leader) etc. List is so long.

      Cheers!

Reid Avenue boys are keeping a low profile. For unknown reasons. Normally they are at the forefront.

In that case Gothayas and Basils Alma mater is the Great Ananda. Gonraja initially a Nalandian before he was kicked out from it.
There are many other gonharakas in the parliament went to good Schools.
Its a shame but the poor Alma mater is suffering because of few rabied stray dogs.

A clear indication that the people are getting tired of this and that velvet glove is being dropped exposing the iron fist – you can see it in the behavior of the stock market. Get ready to give up the ghost if necessary when the drones start to fly.

Oh I say, this is a classic example of fighting fire with fire and I suppose has to be excused because Raj’phuckit’pal ‘Obey’nayake knows no other language. His ‘pin-adi’ tactics are well known but he nearly left without his trousers according to the Paquis Madame in Old Geneva who charitably described him as ‘a stingy little phucker’. She obviously knew something knew don’t.

Rajpal is very odd but there is no need to stoop to that level. CT can respond, but they need to set the right example when pointing out the error in his ways.

I don’t think either of the responses published meet the standard.

      Jack Point,

I concede that you have to address the Cultured and Educated in society in a more civilised manner. We have been doing just that. Unfortunately we are not dealing with such in this Modern Society where yesterday’s Carters are today’s Drivers. There is nothing Gentlemanly in their driving. So they have to be spoken to, in a tone and tenor they understand. This is equally so in Politics, where the Decent like Ranil tries try to play according to West Minister Rules and the Scum Bag MR resort to all Mariakadey tactics. But the sad part is for individuals who benefit from such a system, what is sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander.

The writer seems to have an intimate, crotch-side knowledge of his subject. How come? He writes “pint-sized prick,” “shortcomings,” “pocket edition nutter,” “nothing downstairs,” “small and smelly fart,” etc., etc. Is the writer gay or a woman? There is nothing wrong with being gay. I’m just curious. It’s going to keep me awake at nights unless I find out. Whatever it is, if there was any hanky panky between the writer and the subject, there should be full disclosure to avoid possible conflict of interest.

Are those responsible for Lake House so deaf, so dumb
    and so blind.

Can’t they realise that this Pin Addiya is using the
Daily News, once a highly respected newspaper in Sri
Lanka, to settle personal scores. Does’nt he know anything
    called decency?

Kutti Machan – my friend, can’t you see why he is called
those names. What has transpired about Pinn Adi King Rajpal
Abeynaike is just a shaving of the iceberg. Wait till the
    real shockers come out.

Both the writer of this column and the commentators have alienated many readers by using gutter language unworthy of publication.

I have criticized the current editor of the Daily News as an egomaniac who suffers from the delusion that he is the most influential journalist in Sri Lanka. But his adversaries have shown they too are suffering from mental defilements. They should soon go to Angoda for treatment.

The offensive editor should cease and desist from using the first person singular in the editorials he writes for the Daily News, which is owned by the public. He is just a paid hack, a temporary occupant in the editorial seat, who is likely to be ejected from his imaginary throne as the DN circulation plummets down.

Do let him dig his own grave. Please, love thy enemy. Show him your compassion, not thy venom.
Practice mindful journalism–the journalism of Winnie the Pooh.

Rajpal was anti-Rajapaksa with a vengeance when he was the Editor of the Lakbima newspaper. What brought about his volte farce?

Can D.S.A. Gunaratne, whose right to comment I will never
challenge, please define what gutter language is please?

If Sri Lanka’s foremost national newspaper of the yesteryears
is reduced to a yellow journal, and the man who steers its
course at public expenses, what does one do? Use Winnie the
Pooh language or just throw poo at him?

Please grow up Gunaratne. You are from a different generation
altogether. There is nothing wrong in that. However, please,
please do not sit in judgement over issues of modern day media
    and modern day responses.

First search for what gutter language means. Perhaps you have
    not heard most.

I can’t believe CT permitted this sort of language to appear in its pages. I detest Rajpal Abeynayake, but people who want to point out his flaws do not have to stoop down to his level in order to do so.
Show Mr Abeynayake that you are above him, sir!

    I say!

Why do we even waste time and energy commenting about ‘journalists’ with highly questionable credentials.

I have often wondered who writes the articles today. My group was the last to pass out with an English language education. That was in 1982.
We were fortunate to have teachers who lived, breathed and taught the language.

Today what we see as in depth reporting and editorials is utter garbage. It is depressing to read from a linguistic standpoint, leave aside the asinine content.

As an example: Read the sports reporting on Cricket and compare that to the reports on cricinfo or any of the Indian dailies and you can see the lack of standards on many levels. And this from our reputed journalists, not hacks.

Abeynaike epitomises a problem we have in society and until and unless the morals change, the behaviour cannot. We all want to take advantage of any opportunity that comes our way, no matter what. In that mad rush we have lost our morals, values and principles. Blaming him is easy. We should look in the mirror first before pointing fingers.

The puny drunkard is taking the Daily News to
disaster. He is settling his personal scores
