‘Sex And Love’ Show; Cultural Police Sirisena’s Family Was There, But He Attacks Organisers

Knowing very well that his family members have also participated in Enrique’s ‘Sex And Love’ show, President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday condemned the organisers of the concert which was held in Colombo on the 20th of December.

“The President knew that his family members were there” a source close to the Presidential Security Division told Colombo Telegraph.

Acting like the head of Sri Lanka’s “Cultural Police”, addressing a public event in Ampara last morning the President said; the show is “indecent” and “uncivilised”

“The musical show lasted only for an hour. Prices of its tickets ranged from Rs. 5000 to 50,000. they were served Beer, Arrack, Brandy and Gin. This is the power of liquor. This is how they are trying to protect our culture, Some people may criticise me talking about these issues. But I am a Sinhala-Buddhist. It’s my duty to talk about these matters,” he said.

The President also said the organisers of such indecent events should be punished for bringing artistes, who destroy Sri Lanka’s proud culture. He said the organisers should be “whipped with toxic stingray tails”- a brutal medieval punishment.

Enrique’s show in Colombo was organised by a company named, Live Events (PVT) Ltd, owned by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena and radio personality Shaq.

Meanwhile issuing a statement today Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena said; It is extremely disappointing for us that this event, organised to assist the development of Sri Lanka as a tourist and entertainment hub and provide the public with exceptional entertainment of a high standard by accessing celebrated international artists, turned out in this manner.” To read the statement click here.

But his son-in-law Wewelpanawa Gamage Thilina Suranjith, the Public Relations Officer of the Defence Ministry has been photographed with his friends and posted by Iraj Weeraratne on his Facebook page at 3.00AM in the morning on the 21st of December.

If the ‘Madu Walige’ should be used on anybody, it should be on the president himself. He has turned out to be a liar of the worst kind. Having fooled the people with his ‘Yahapalanaya’ BS, he has turned out to be a devout practitioner of nepotism and a devotee of the criminal outer world. He created close to a hundred useless and unneeded ministries to house his unrepresentative politician friends with a criminal past.

After whipping My3 with the ‘Madu Walige’ and when he can take it no more it must be turned on every politician in that cave of ‘Alibaba’ that we call the Sri Lankan parliament.

On second thoughts I do hope no one will end up using the ‘Madu Walige’ nor anything else on anyone in the country. The call to violence by the president must be denounced. I certainly will not recommend whipping Sanga and Mahela for organising this event on the request of this errant President. We have seen enough violent behaviour in this thrice cursed country of ours.

I saw the videos, and came to the conclusion that his singing style, and behaviour other than the kissing part (which is seen in all movies, other tha Sinhala, and Indian)are close to “bathiya & santhush” stage shows, who are emulated by the other lankan groups. As for the kissing, that is a display of affection,by westerners. But I think Iglaisiase handled it well,by behaving in a gentlemanly way, without bringing the ire and wrath of the spectators,by acting roughly and rejecting the mood of a fan!As for the comments and criticism by the politicians, every ordinary and humble citizen knows, and have come across tabloids, reporting incidents where kissing is done (without prejudice) behind closed doors of ministerial doors, and these activities are reserved for them! The general public are not allowed to even hold hands which is assumed to be a sexual act!

Is this man spoke like that to create a mob attack on those girls? This how they convene the pogroms too. Irresponsible Afghanistan wild donkey.

This road warrior, gang leader, left his master and has formed his own. Is he the protector of country and citizens?

If there is a law(act) to handle, do it with it. If a new one is better or needed, recommend one.

Organizers know to handle this with money and a political apology. How are those girls and their families are doing now? Anybody has ran out of the country? They may be having real problem in getting into their day to day business.

We are still a colony. The way our girls glorify the White man and the reward him sexually as much as possible. It was a girl who could pay Rs. 50,000 for a fun of 90 minutes. OK, may be it’s worth for her. But this is a country where people starve without food and water. Long live Colombo’s give-it-all-to sudda! culture.

Thisara you are right. Mentally we still behave like colonised people. This is as much our fault as the coloniser’s.

Our ancient irrigation works provide a clue to the solution. Colonic irrigation is the answer. It should be applied to all politicians from Bodhi Sira downwards, and then to the judiciary, police and so on. Flush out the crap from society.

When Mahinda Rajapakse was in power his biggest head ace was LTTE. Now with this MS RW Yahapalanaya in power the biggest head ace for them is Women’s Bras.

This shows your level of thinking.

SO no wonder that voters would go mad in elections.

      Yours reflect that clearly.

I really dont know why the many in this beautiful island are this much stupid. Not even far poor countries, one would find the average of our kind.

Either they support or stay malicious being on life long mode.

      Examples among senior men

      a) Dayan Jayathilaka Aka Dayan Rajapakshe
      b) Gonmanpila aka blood sucker of the day
c)Buruwanse, though his both orifices seems to be sealed off these days for some reasons – is the worst among all
d)Wasidewa who went on licking the balls of Rajapakshe for his political survival

MS should ban farming and mask Sigiriya frescoa. A man who doesnot understand the concept of culture properly should not talk about it.

Please do not misunderstand that I condone the act of throwing a brassier at this musical event. It is certainly not civil to do so. What I can not understand is how some try to interpret that it is against Sinhala Culture. The Sinhala Culture that is spoken of today was formulated by the British who introduced Victorian Standards to the natives of this country. Our race may have a History of 2500 years, but the ‘Sinhala Culture’ that is spoken off, does not stretch that far.

Sirisena is a hillbillie. How dare he tells others how to bring up his children. Ironically while trying to score some points, had no idea the very godey punks involved were all connected to him. What a rat :p

Colombo Mayor Muzamil stated on TV that he will black list the “live events” for not paying the due taxes to Colombo Municipality. I like to know where was this Muzamil Joker when Namal Baby was doing car races show with performance by Russian dancers & alcohol in the heart of Colombo. If this Muzamil joker made any demand for taxes from Namal Baby he would have ended up in an entry gate for the car races selling tickets to spectators. Typical Mayor Joker Muzamil.

They say charity begins at home! Why president could not stop his kith and kin attending this show? May be they were attracted by record breaking number ‘Bailando’ Enrique, which has a smashing number of 1.2 billion hits in Youtube. I wish the president also given a chance to view it! I am sure he will throw his underwear at the screen!

I am truly inspired by this show. One idiot has even commented that the women should be body searched to see that they don’t wear any protective garments like bras and panties.

I am going to have my own show soon and tickets will be given out free to those
who WILL be wearing their protective clothing like bra and panty and a free dinner ticket if they would throw it on stage or ME

WATCH OUT FOR THE DATE SOON TO BE ANNOUNCED.

Does the president think that marching in loin cloths in the capital, exposing the ugly back sides is our culture? Farmers can invade the city and do anything they want but only city dwellers have to behave! Aney ape ‘yaha palaneya’ Deyyo saaki.

The world is a mixture of all classes of people, living people, from the lowest
to the highest class. There are people who can hardly afford a meal a day and there are people who will throw away a fortune for a meal. This is part of living in the world. The poor try to get richer and the richer try get even richer and this is called the ethics of living.
If people can spend 50,000 for a musical show that is their choice and for those who cannot afford it is a misfortune that cannot be blamed upon the rich.
In a musical show, throwing objects on stage is common practice and throwing bra or panty shows extreme appreciation of the performer and there is no need to create a storm by anyone and especially by the president who has racially claimed that he is Sinhala Buddhist.

Just to remind the Sinhala Buddhist president that no faith encourages such
behavior but living in modern times the rule, sometimes, have to be overseen
or turn a ‘Nelsonian eye’to the issue. Moreover this is not an issue for the president of a nation to get involved when there are larger issues concerning the nation. The president must also know what is happening behind his back as much as he can see and know what is happening in his forward view rather than to kick up dust on a matter that is of least irrelevence to his level of authority.

All said and done, truly, this is not issue that needs to prodded further and beyond. The show is over those who went for the show had a mixed view and feeling whilst a larger number enjoyed the show in spite of whatever happened during the show. In fact, nothing of any seriousness happened except it was just a show by an international artiste who performed as he usually does including kissing one or many fans. This is all part of the performers strategy and no harm has been done to our culture or heritage or for that matter to any particular person or persons. It is just that the show was organised in very short time and is also a first time experience of organizers. After all not everyone is of the same calibre as the a great showman Donovan Andree.
The Prez has commented what he felt and everybody else have done the same and now it is time to bring the curtain down on this subject and shift to other matters that effect our daily lives.

Should not the Ptesident, who wishes to mete out an ancient punishment to those who organised the event, consider the same punishment to be meted out to himself who offered a high ranking Diplomatic post to one of the organisers of this musical event.!
After all it shows a complete lack of judgement on the part of the President to have offered it in the first instance as subsequent events have shown.
If the offer was made because Sanga brought a measure of distinction to Sri Lanka cricket internationally. surely, Murali brought distinction to Sri Lanka cricket internationally long before Sanga did.
Offering something similar to Murali would have also helped in the reconciliation process everybody is talking about but not doing anything significant to help that process.
Perhaps, long term thinking is alien to the Polonnaruwa School of good governance!!!!
