SF Seeks Court Intervention To Enable Him To Exercise Parliamentary privileges

A writ application has been filed by Sarath Fonseka before the Court of Appeal today seeking an order that would enable him to sit and vote in the Parliament and exercise his entitled privileges and immunities as a parliamentarian.

General-Sarath-Fonseka- colombo telegraphAmong those who have been named as the respondents in his writ application are: Former Parliament Secretary General Dammika Kitulgoda, Jayantha Ketagoda, ex-Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake and the Attorney General.

The former Army Commander has also sought a declaration from the Court that deems Ketagoda’s position as a parliamentarian null and void and that he is not entitled by law to hold office as a MP for the Colombo district.

In his writ he has also noted that as the incumbent President, under Article 34 of the Constitution pardoned him on January 21, he is now able to continue as a MP as he did before he was imprisoned.

    Perhaps you should retire Sir.
Gota, showed us how an ex Army Official behaves with power in his hands.
There is too much bad blood running between you and the past regime.
So take it easy, you have done your part, enjoy a splendid retirement.

“Perhaps you should retire Sir.”….I do not agree with you Vishvajith. Look at your five fingers. Are they all of the same size? There were ‘Devadatthas’ then and there a lot more of them at present and will be even more in the future. Let him finish what he started. Do not compare ‘Gota’ with SF. A man who disappeared during a war and a leader who fought till the end. That is the difference.

SF is not guilty until he is proven guilty. He was jailed not because the army killed civilians but he was jailed because he kicked that ex-petrol station coolie. They should simply create a ministry to take care of Rajapaksa affairs and give the portfolio to SF. Then we can watch the fun :)

Well done Sir, you have every right to sit in parliament and expose the horapakshas now that you have been pardoned of all the false charges. The citizens of Colombo voted for you as their representative and not have a clown to represent them.

    THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS TRIUMPH
