The SLFP Disciplinary Committee has been tasked with submitting a report to the party’s Central Committee on the recent conduct of several SLFP members who defied party orders and took part in the anti-Government Pada Yatra and also allegedly hooted at the party headquarters in Colombo during the Colombo leg of the protest march.
During a meeting convened last evening chaired by President by President Maithripala Sirisena, the Central Committee had decided to await the report from the Disciplinary Committee after which the fate of the joint opposition MPs who hold membership in the SLFP will be decided.
During last evening’s meeting it was also decided to cancel the party membership of Puttalam District MP Sanath Nishantha, after he openly criticized Sirisena’s leadership in a television programme. It was also decided to take action against several local government members after they tore up letters issued by the party which called for nominations for the next election. The party has decided to bar these members from contesting any future local government elections under the SLFP.

Medamulana Mahinda and Thummulle Wimalaya should be dealt with severely for rabble rousing and threatening to round up Colombo.
When witnessing the manner in which cases are filed ; the manner in which times are allocated for cases ; the individuals on the court premises who are linked to those cases , and are proudly claiming ‘our government has come’ when cases are being postponed twice or thrice , we are led to believe that a nonsensical legal melodrama is being enacted.’
This drama somewhat is on the face of it produced and staged ,propped and prodded by the power of wealth , because no one has been sentenced so far despite charges of corruption and frauds being mounted and cases filed against the culprits even after the government has been in existence for nearly two years.
Enough is Enough the masses will get fed up of yahapalanaya soon.

I feel there’s danger awaiting for the Yahapalanaya due to the inability to charge the crooks the murderers and Thieves.
The Law of the real criminal justice system should be practiced and meted out punishments to the above mentioned
Allowing this group of so called JO to make a mockery of the democratically voted government is beggars belief and it’s below par for our government to stoop so low in this manner.
Yahapal is playing with fire until the crooks takes the upper hand.
YG !! Year and a half has passed your promises have reached to almighty HUMBUG.
PULL YOUR SOCKS TOGETHER BEFORE A HEAD YATRA TAKES OVER, WHICH WIL BE WALKING ON THEIR HEADS INSTEAD OF PADA YATRA by the JO. Hah hah hah!

AT LAST SOME SENSE!
There is a big difference to ‘freedom of speech’ and breaking rules of the Party. This is not a mater of ‘freedom’ but about discipline! This is a good move, President Maithripala showed his patience but then he cannot watch his Party being broken up and hijacked, with a threat to break up the government just so as to save a corrupt family or a few corrupt families. Chandrika is giving him strength.
We want the SHARKS to be punished not the SPRATS.

IT IS HIGH TIME THE IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT BUT PRESENT MEMBER OF THE PARLIAMENT WHO NEVER ATTENDS THE PARLIAMENT AND ALL HIS IDIOTIC THIEVING SCUM BAGS SHOULD BE KICKED OUT OF THE PARTY AS WELL AS THE PARLIAMENT TO SAVE THE TAX PAYERS MONEY.

Isn’t there a rule regarding the minimum required attendance in the Parliament. Why is Mahinda Rajapakse MP not kicked out of the Parliament? Is the Speaker of the Parliament fallen asleep?
jim softy / August 6, 2016
In Sri lanka, they talk a lot. but, hardly any results.
Everything is for gullible voters.
Hw come, President feel comfortable to lead a bunch of clowns. Only thing they are capable of is fooling the whole country.

5.6 Million didn’t vote for Bodhi Sira,
Another 2 Million lined up along the road from Kandy to Lipton Square..
All in disgust at the way Bodhi Sira has let Batalanada Ranil and his LGBT Faction to destroy what ever the inhabitants got after 30 years of Tamil Terrorist War.
Bodhi Sira’s General secretary wants to sack the real deal SLFP MPs who are commanding these Millions who are growing even bigger each day.
Just wait until Batalanda Ranil gives the papers to Bodhi Sira to sign on the dotted line to kick off War Crime Trials Against the Sinhala Buddhists?.
There will be even bigger Paada Yatras from all corners of the Land except Eelaam territory.
Does the General Secretary want to finish off the JO faction of the SLFP before that?.
And make Bodi Sira join a Paada Yatra from Jaffna to Megapolis?.
BTW wonder what happened to the UNP Pada Yatra X , which Kandy Kirra promised to bring from Mawanalla and Badulla?.
Did he take a sickie and let Batalanada’s Thambi, Marrickkar to insult the sea of masses who came from Kandy?.
Sanchay / August 6, 2016
Is that what only matters, if there is a war crime trial, the Singhala Buddhist should be spared from any legal actions, independent of any facts? It shows how rational you are, sumane. You think you are allowed to rape or kill or being a criminal or whatever and producing your Singhala Buddhist ID should keep you untouchable for the justice. What an uneducated, uncivilized Moron are you. You are lost Sumane! The sense of Justice make us poud human and not the Singhala Buddhist belongingness. You see the battered Status of our justice System, and what the high priests of your praised singhala Buddists monks are capable in wreaking a Havoc. This a reason enough to bring some impartialtiy in our justice System, even if it is necessary with foreign law professional.

Disciplinary action should be taken against Judas Sirisena for betraying SLFP by going against the party candidate. Choura Regina also face disciplinary action on same grounds. These two have no right to talk about discipline of genuine SLFP members. 5.8 million people supported SLFP candidate. They are the genuine SLFP members. When the right time come, these people will take disciplinary action against those who betrayed the party. Judas said he will form a ‘Jathika Aanduwa’ in which Ranil be the PM but 5.8 million voters rejected that. If Judas think that SLFP members are behind him simply because he is the Chairperson, he is sadly mistaken. When the SLFP MPs who joined the UNP come to ask for the votes they will get shit buckets instead of votes.
Sanchay / August 6, 2016
First of all the 5.8 Million were not solely SLFP member, and secondly there were a slight majority than the 5.8 Million voters said they don’t want MR regime. So I don’t see any scandal in it. By the way as MR was elected the second time he was too selling the Minister posts to other mps to get the majority. People, why do you forget the selected facts and so biased?
SLFP Supporter / August 7, 2016
Only a very small number of Tamil and Muslim voters voted to MR. UNP guys did not vote to MR. So we can safely assume that 99% out of that 5.8 are SLFP members.
MY3 not only betrayed the party but has disappointed people by not keeping his promises. People are not fools. They have realized that MY3 has become a puppet of Ranil and Chaura Regina. If he does not dance according to the tune of those who funded regime change, there is a possibility that he will go six feet under. But it will not be an act of MR.
Sanchay / August 6, 2016
The civil Society in Srilanka has acted and indtituionalized a regime change, now it is waiting until next electon to see who is coming with the best promises. I believe, it has very little to do with a function ing democracy, we should check and contol the executive… we can put them under pressure to deliver their promised duties and make them answerable. Take it the streets, organize a Pada yatra with clear riquests without hidden Tags, Demand for a functioning law and order System, take to the courts for betrayal of public trust.. this is not our democratic right but also our Duty.
Sanchay / August 6, 2016
The of MR, the thieve WW was a super Hero during the PY, dancing and drinking like a Street Party Maker, not making a pada yatra but a Jeep safri, was so fatigued that he could not appear for hearings twice after the event. You call them responsible politician? You Supporters of MR and the Gang are dumb, naive and lazy. Forgotten the days when the people demanded for good drinking water were shot in the pubic from Gotas Gestapo. Sometimes I thing you were borne dumb and refused to learn anything. Ah yes, the high praised civilization of more than 2500 years in Sri Lanka. My foot!

“The highly praised civilisation of more than 2500, my foot”
The 2500 year old Mahawamsa has made the modern day Buddhists of Srilanka into either
TERRIFIED Or TERRORISED BY THE RELIGION ??
Can you tell me whether there’s any sense in the 10 Precepts being followed by this humbug Religion.
The 10 Precepts to be followed by Theravada Buddhists as follows:
KILLING , STEALING, SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, LYING AND FALSE INFORMATION, SELLING INTOXICANTS, PRAISING ONESELF, DISPARAGING OTHERS, STINGINESS AND ABUSE, ANGER AND RESENTMENT, SLANDERING THE THREE JEWELS,,AND INTOXICATING , ALL ARE FORBIDDEN.
All these are practised by Buddhists in the name of Lord Buddha IN SL , by those Few who preach, the lawmakers , the educationists , the list is far too long.
How a country can progress when the followers of the religion do not practise what it’s preached??
adrians / August 7, 2016
Well said Analyst,
If the Sinhalese want to safeguard Buddhism the sensible way is, not to associate their name with it. It is similar to when a child acts bad we blame the parents. Similarly Buddhism gets a bad name the way its followers act even if it is just a minority and the Majority who wouldn’t intervene.
Take for instance
“Islam is a Religion of peace is the claim” but by the terror carried out in the name of ‘Allah’ by significant few raises all doubt about the validity. And for the above and remaining religions we still have the Apologists who will incite violence just in the name of preserving it and the fanatics who will kill themselves execute it.
But when it comes to Political Parties it is just a handful of members who stand for party principles, the majority are, a den of crooks whose motto is ‘you scratch my back and I will yours ‘ and ‘make hay while you can’
the same last line applies to how majority of people in SL and other parts interpret survival.
