It is evident from all accounts that the ethno-religious riot in Beruwala and Aluthgama has left a terrible toll. A toll of physical destruction, injured bodies and minds and death.

In the absence of worthwhile media coverage owing to a state blackout, our citizen’s group deemed it necessary to see for ourselves. A visit to Beruwala and its precincts was just concluded. There was much to see in Beruwala even though the attacks were on a much lesser scale than Aluthgama. Time was too short to visit Aluthgama..
The town and villages in Beruwela were deserted. Shops were closed and there was an eerie feeling of violence. Men were huddling in street corners chatting quietly and watching furtively to see if violence would breakout again. There was no visible protection around .Muslim villages. However there were plenty of Police, STF and Army on the main Galle Road and on the periphery of Sinhala areas.
Facts that may not be obvious to the public at large:
The complaint regarding the altercation between the three Muslim youth and the Buddhist priest and his Sinhalese driver was not accepted by the Police till late evening on Poson Poya Day. The incident occurred in the morning. Why was this? An ethnic twist resulted in a very common type of complaint not being accepted by the Police. There was annoyance about this. The Bodu Bala Sena made full use of this situation by whipping up hatred 3 days later.
Attacks continued on Muslim shops and homes while THE CURFEW WAS ON. So mobs on the rampage were allowed to do so either through inaction or active collusion. There is video evidence to show both. However Muslims were told to stay indoors.
Currently there are 1056 persons in an unofficial IDP camp in a school in Beruwala. These are people who fled attacks to their homes. Some homes were raized to the ground. As the government does not want to acknowledge an environment of displacement, no officer has visited this site and offered assistance. There is also no medical assistance at the camp nor special care for women and children.
As usual there is jealousy of success in entrepreneurship among Muslims.and the attacks seem planned. Planning of the attack is obvious as all the youth of the mob wore cut off jeans and had the identical pole in each of their hands.
The death toll among the attacked Muslims is 5 as of now… No Sinhalese was injured seriously.
Protection of the chosen few
It is pretty obvious that some are more equal in Sri Lanka than others. The state protects the Bodu Bala Sena for a start. How does the Senawa move about? In Defenders. How much is a Defender?
How come Galagodaththe Gnanasara, the thug voice of the BBS, has not been arrested? There is so much evidence against him. He is seen plainly in all media.
How come the Muslims of these areas are not protected? They are vulnerable. Attacks went on while the Police and other Forces watched. Obviously they have been given instructions not to act.
Let us be ready to say that ethnic cleansing in Sri Lanka is on its way. First Dambulla, then Badulla, then Kuragala, then Kurunegala, now Devanagala, Grandpass and Beruwala. Attacks are being planned by BBS systematically in pockets where Muslims live. There is also now a threat on Maligawatte. A Sinhalese Sri Lanka is being fashioned.

Talking about the Aluthgama riots in parliament, Ranil asked how riots started and what business Buddhists monks have in Darga town. Absurd, he didn’t know that monk Samitha who was attacked by Muslims and then hospitalized lives in Pathirajagoda temple and that is located in Darga town. And the rout to that Temple from Aluthgama town lay through Darga town mosque. In his reply the PM said Monk and his driver was assaulted by three Muslims on the 15th on this way to a Bana. And police inaction to apprehend the offender is the primary cause to start this riot.
Monk Samitha was hospitalized and when he was checked out of the hospital on the following day, there was a reception to receive him at Aluthgama town. After the reception he was taken to his temple along the road in a parade.

Now what was that Muslim elder with a pres-cap in the video clip doing while people were walking by normally? The man had raised his both hands to tell someone something. Watch the clip carefully. Immediately thereafter two other men did exactly what the pres-cap man did. It was only after that passers-by started to throw thing back at upstairs. Cannot this be the first stone throwing? So, who threw something first?

On August 16, 2009, The Sunday Times reported that a number of Muslim home guards had deserted their unit with weapons to join Tawheed for a “Jihad” against traditional Muslims. The paper also added Saudi Embassy had denied supporting Wahhabis but admitted that “certain wealthy persons are helping various religious groups in Sri Lanka to put up mosques.” Who would believe Saudi Embassy when everyone knows ISIS fighters that fight Iraqi government right now are financed and backed by Saudi. Saudi also backed the so-called freedom fighters in Syria. Prince Banda ‘Bush’ even threatened Putin. No doubt Saudi money is working here for Thouheeds.
Buhkary Thakiyya in Beruwala is a traditional Islamic cultural centre since eighteenth century. Shaikhs of that Buhkary Thakkiya has always been a man who appreciate friendship and amicable living with Sinhalese. On the 23rd of July 2009, it was the 130th Annual kandhoori at Buhkary Thakiyya. And its followers and well-wishers have celebrated it in a grand manner.
On Friday the 24th of July 2009, the cleric at the nearby but newly sprung Thouheed Mosque (audi financed), delivered a taped sermon that attacked the Buhkary Thakiyya accusing its Shaikh a Kafir. And Koran labels Kafir as dirty unbelievers. Interestingly, the sermon also compared Buhari Thakiyya to a Buddhist Temple, the Kandhoori to a Dansal and the archways erected at the entrance to a Wesak Pandal. In short, Tawheed cleric of Thouheed mosque had ridiculed Buddhism and Buddhist culture while attacking its ideological fore Sufi Muslims.
A Muslim writer to realsalafi.blogspot says, traditional Sufi Muslims understand the core values that can unite Sri Lankan citizens. Tawheeds who are trained in Saudi couldn’t care less about unity or Sri Lankan values. Thouheeds want Sri Lanka Muslims to follow Saudi values and traditions. Anyway, on 24nd of July, Moulavis of Buhkary Thakiyya and their lawyer made a complaint to Beruwala Police about that hate sermon. Thouheeds promised to produce hate preacher to police in two hours but they didn’t. And events that followed lead to arguments on Islamic ideology between Sufi traditionalists and Tawheed fundamentalists.
Crowds gathered on their mosques July 25th of 2009, and the brawl followed ensued two killed and 40 injured. Police arrested 132. Never mind the killed and maimed, Thouheeds stated an illegal radio broadcast and distribution of CDs to propagate their hate ideology from the following day. Last year, three were convicted at Panadura high court and sentenced to gallows for said killings. Since then, Tawheeds put a stop to the functioning of Buhkary Kandhoori at Kinniya. And also attacked Quadiriyya Thakiyya at Weligama.
Considering all that, and Thouheed had set fire to Thareekathul Mufliheen of Kathankoody and destroyed its library on On October 31, 2004, and they have exhumed a dead body of a Sufi saint and burned his body at night and Hordes of ACJU thugs had knocked down the minaret of the same Meditation Centre and burned around 150 houses of its followers on December 15, 2006, and destroyed a 150-year old Sufi shrine in Ukuwela in 2009 who could say they have no hand in this riot.

Google ‘Chilcot Inquiry’ and find out what had happened to the British inquiry into the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The inquiry commenced on 24 November 2009 and concluded on 2 February 2011. In 2012, the government vetoed the release of the documents. When Cameron was in Sri Lanka, he said the report will be out in six months. Lean to look at things as they are.

We are sad to reveal nevertheless, so far none of the perpetrators of these crimes have been arrested. As of now Gnanasara and his drunken goons are roaming free inciting hatred and unleasing violence. Although the law compels their arrest, ironically it is seven Muslim victims who are now in police custody.
Out of the nine Muslims killed, two were shot to death by BBS goons in Dharga Town on the 15th. There is no investigation how these murderers obtained fire arms. There has been no magisterial enquiry.
