An attorney appearing for the AG informed courts on the above when a writ petition filed by JVP MP Vijitha Herath was taken up before Court of Appeal. KP is a respondent in the petition.

The Attorney informed court that there was no current investigation against KP in relation to 51 incidents which have been included in the petition.

The Attorney representing the AG further said that KP is not a suspect in respect of 7 cases currently probed by the TID including the killing of former Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle and an attempt to kill Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka by a suicide bomber. The Attorney added that KP was also not suspect in 40 cases probed by the CID .

An Attorney appearing for the petitioner informed courts that KP had been the main figure behind international arms procuring for the LTTE and was also the head of the terrorist organizations overseas fund raising efforts.

In his petition, Herath has sought the arrest of KP while filing over 190 serious accusations alleging KP’s involvement in terrorist activities.

In the petition Herath has also noted that KP is wanted by India in the Rajiv Gandhi assasination as he has been named as a suspect in the killing of former Indian leader by the country’s intelligence services.

Herath says he has received information that KP is operating a social service organisation while being under the protection of the Army. The court today further extended a travel ban on KP while ordering the AG to file further reports on the ongoing investigations.

Pathmanathan alias KP was an international arms smuggler who procured massive loads of weapons worth billions of dollars for the terrorist organization that ravaged a deadly war for 30 years. He was involved in arms smuggling operations across Asia, Canada, US and Europe.

Sri Lankan authorities arrested KP in Malaysia in August 2009 and brought to Sri Lanka. He was kept under protective custody of the Rajapaksa government and not prosecuted for his terrorist activities in return for providing information on the LTTE’s international financial network and arms smuggling operations.

KP, who is running a couple of orphanages for girls from war-affected families at Kilinochchi, has said that he has no problem with the new government and not facing any security issues yet.

KP should be charged, arrested and dealt with according to the law, after which the Rajapakses and legal entities responsible for protecting him should be charged for obstruction of justice, arrested and processed according to the law.

Deportation of KP to India should follow soon after.

A person who by deceit and fraud makes billions will not be free in his mind to live a peaceful and serene life as he will always feel guilty of the manner they amassed wealth. He would always tend to be irate, suspicious of others, jealous, misanthropic and feeling sick inside with his own uncomfortable fear psychosis of an imminent situation of being caught and revealed. K P and all other branded notorious ex-celebrities WILL BE NO EXCEPTION

    TID,

“Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) has commenced a probe against Ex-LTTE leader and arms procurer Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP, the Attorney General informed Court today.”

Please stop wasting your time and our money. KP is a Tamil and if he is remanded or convicted be becomes a political prisoner. There will be massive hartals and all the TNA politicians will start fasting to release him.

“Pathmanathan alias KP was an international arms smuggler who procured massive loads of weapons worth billions of dollars for the terrorist organization that ravaged a deadly war for 30 years. He was involved in arms smuggling operations across Asia, Canada, US and Europe.”

I believe that KP is from the VVT area where during generations smuggling has been the biggest industry. He was only continuing traditional family business.

Many Tamil politicians hail from the VVT area and out of courtesy I will not comment on their background like from where the family wealth originally came from.

The talents of KP should be used by the Northern Provincial Council and Finance minister Ravi to attract all kinds of FDI and money into the country with no questions asked. Sri Lanka and the Northern Province can become leading offshore centers in the future with KP and Ravi in charge.

“I believe that KP is from the VVT area”
No, not true. He is from Myliddy, close to Kankesanthurai.

“He was only continuing traditional family business.”
      Ha! Keep making up stories!!

“Many Tamil politicians hail from the VVT area”
Not true!! I don’t think any of them is from VVT.

“I will not comment on their background like from where the family wealth originally came from.”
Family wealth? Sumanthiran is a successful lawyer. Good or bad, Saravanapavan got rich from his businesses. Sampanthan has his traditional family wealth. Others are not as rich.

“The talents of KP should be used”
I am sure Gota used those talents. Didn’t we hear that Mahinda lobbied with Ranil not to punish KP?
