Two Jackals And A Joker

By Kumar David

Prof. Kumar David

Weerawansa and Gammanpila did not misjudge and overplay their hand; they did not assume that Gota was dependent on them and would and could not fire them. That is not what happened; they have played a different game for several weeks. It has become clear that the Gota-regime is breathing its last, so smart rats jumped ship first. Vasu has made more of an Andere of himself than avid fairy-tale fans expected. He declared with great pomp: “I will not attend Cabinet meetings; I will refrain from performing my Ministerial duties; but I will not resign”. You know what? He did not tell us whether he will stop banking his ministerial cheque, forego the perks of office such as accommodation, office-space, vehicles, security-detail and the loads of hangers-on paid out of public funds. Public-paid hangers on include secretaries, information officers and loads of others who collect salaries, petrol allowances, bata and perks. The amounts paid and the titles of these pandang-karaya posts, Colombo Telegraph readers have to find for themselves, I am too busy. Why should the people pay for Vasu’s clowning while he boycotts his duties? Worse than Vasu are this retinue of blood sucking, allowance gathering leeches who will skin him alive if their kapang is interrupted.

Let’s leave these three to one side and give our minds to what is likely to happen in the broader scenario. I will ask you to join me in giving our minds to what can be done on other fronts; economic, international relations and public activities. The following are considered common sense and I invite your consideration.

* The debt and fiscal crises have become intolerable. There is no way out, even if politically unpalatable but to call in the IMF. This will entail belt-tightening but if in pursuance of an orderly action plan that offers a way out the imbroglio within say two years isn’t that acceptable? Basil says he is already abiding by IMF prescriptions so why not make it formal.

* This plan will entail debt restructuring (a polite way of saying defaulting). It’s time for Sri Lanka and this and previous governments to face up to the truth that we have screwed things up since Independence and are prepared to eat humble-pie, swallow our pride and make corrections.

* The State has to overcome its reputation as a gross human rights violator and a pariah. Until then the country has little hope of international acceptance or substantial assistance [See note below*]

* Mustn’t we come together to agree on a pragmatic rather than an ideological economic growth and development programme or plan. Ideological commitment to free-market liberalism, trust in the miracle of the entrepreneurial classes, dogmatic commitment to state-enterprises and the myth of 100% decentralisation from the urban centres to rural areas are silly one-dimensional mantras.

* The political classes and political leaderships must be defanged. The power of MPs must be constrained and knowledgeable people (technologists, economists, agronomists, you know who) empowered. This amounts a massive restructuring of the state system.

* Large-scale corruption must be made a capital offence, including confiscation of inherited assets. While reasonable appeal procedures must be provided the opportunity to play the judicial game and postpone justice in perpetuity must be eliminated.

* A huge public education programme to teach ethnic-pluralism and ethics must be initiated.

* Unless the people’s mindset changes, nothing will change.

There are so many specific things that need to be done in respect of education, women’s rights, healthcare, fisheries, industrialisation programmes, enhancing productivity, export orientation and so on. This is all very important and is the stuff of party political manifestoes. What I have attempted to outline in the few bullet points are more fundamental and I daresay more sweeping ideas without which a nation destroying existential crisis as Sri Lanka confronts today cannot be surmounted. These thoughts are not meant to serve or antagonise any political entity. The one set of people who I reject are the nihilists who say “Sri Lanka is finished, forget it, it has gone to the dogs forever and ever”. They are dead, let the dead go and bury their dead.

[*High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet said at the UNHRC Sessions on 7 March. “The current Government has not only demonstrated its unwillingness to pursue accountability, but it has incorporated military officials implicated in alleged war crimes into the highest levels of Government, reinforcing a narrative of impunity” and highlighted the need for “a full account of the circumstances of the Easter Sunday attacks, in particular the role of the security establishment”].

      “Two Jackals And A Joker”
What an apt title! And this too is true:”It has become clear that the Gota-regime is breathing its last, so smart rats jumped ship first.”
But it is sad that some idiots in the SJB have invited these racists to join them. If anything, it shows the SJB’s lack of any political principles despite a torrent of long words from its leader. The only way this country can prosper is by removing these creatures from mainstream politics altogether. Their shrill ethno-nationalist have amounted to the tail wagging the dog for far too long. This applies to Champika Ranawaka too. Political parties must understand that the purpose of politics is not to win elections with the help of vultures like these.
It seems Ranil is proposing a 15 year agreed framework which any government will be compelled to follow. As he says, the country cannot do about-turns every 5 years at the whim of some illiterate demagogue or other.

Forget ideology, nomenclature, name-calling (give me a few more words Sinhala_Man; I’s struggling for words here) ……… and the rest of the shindig ………

Keep it very simple ……… imagine SL is a company near bankruptcy that’s in the process of turning around ……….. and you have a hard-earned million bucks ………. would you bet all your money on it?

To keep things emotionally-detached and distant …… in the 2008 financial meltdown ……… General Motors (GM) nearly went under …….GM was helped by Obama with a loan- guarantee, was able to get rid of many money bleeding practices, discard all the unprofitable dealerships ………. GM turned around and came back with a bang: streamlined, slimmer and nimble.

For that GM had the right management team (before that Lee Iacocca turned around Chrysler.) Many shrewd experienced investors analysed the prospects of GM turning around and found it a near certainty ……… and bet big and won big …………. Auto industry is cyclical (you should know went buy and when to sell)

Do you see such a management tem in Lanka? Would you bet your precious million bucks on a Lankan turnaround?

Then why are we still talking? Do we like the sound of our own voices? ……. I do?

        It’s a nice pastime ………… :))

KD aren’t the US citizen Jarajapaksa brothers, Goat accused of war crimes and Basil, who sold Kerawelapitiay Power plant in a secret deal to US new Fortress the Real Jackels?
Lanka needs to look East and forget about the imploding West that that has colonized and turned it into a Banana Republic and Service economy for massaging tourists White People and making their underwear, ruled by US citizens Goat and Basil Rajapaksas.
Tourism is useless – Servicing and massaging White folkswith GSP another Colonial dependency strategy to earn some crashing US dollars and EUROs.
You are right that successive govts since independence have failed and JRJ’s “economic reforms” only accelerated the rot and mega corruption…
The tourism and garment industry dependent Sri Lankan Business community is completely Colonized and Servile to the imploding West whose Economy is crashing that has created a tourism and underwear Economy in the island, rather than enable Lanka to industrialize its Economy utilizing its valuable Marine (FIsheries and Sea bed resources) and Rare Earth Minerals and Elements including Graphite important in the manufacture of batteries and Solar panels…

            LLM,
So what have the Vikalpa Nayakayo (VN) have done to change that scenario before 2019 to mitigate??????
Only thing we know is they (2ofthem by precipitating the issue targeting Basil) have left the ship unable to change the ways?
The results as seen, indicate that!1
The state of Sri Lanka is in a perilous and parlous state than ever before1 Is it not??
the third has decided to stay back without doing anything to add or detract, but to only get personally financially benefitted.
The Maha Nayakayo of the Vikalpa Pakshaya (MR) no noise, contrast to Ranil, Mangala, Eran and Harsha at least gave a reason for the plummeting Dollar then!!!
            Performance analysis (Comparative)
            141 to 181 (40 rupees decline) per dollar 2015 to 2019 (5 years) and now 181.00 to 260.00 (79 rupees) from 2019 October to date (2 years and 4 months or 2 1/4 years)
Achieved in less than ½ the time spent by Yahapalanaya government
Splendid performance indeed by the Vikalpa Pakshaya!!!!!!!!!!!! Would you not agree with me???

Vikalpa bayakayo cant make magic/ so long punnaku eaters dominated island nation would nt be ready for a change. Any country would have to agree with paying taxes/ but our pingonas cant see it right. Were the people suffering as they are facing today being caught by a rogue family affairs 🐃🐕😎

Start biting their nails. We warned the the nation again and again…. but yet today, they would continue KEEPING rajapakshe animals above altar…… only god can understand why the people would not yet see it right ? In a civilized world, Rajapakshes would have been stoned whenever they make appearences. People are busy with tying a PIRITH NOOLE around a dead elephant rather than asking themselves, – why they voted for knowing the criminality and incapability ofHambantota Rascals ?

Yes with the right kind of management, Sri Lanka could be turned into a pristine tourist destination, an agricultural hub, a modern manufacturing hub as well a software/ high tech electronics hub, and a financial services node. Not to mention a major shipping / trans-shipping point.
We could also offer cheaper but high-quality health care services to those who cannot afford US or European prices.

            HT,
            .
They should start with LONG TERM plan settings if they really want to target millions of tourists to the country.

Maldives and Seyshells keep doing their annual workshops in Europe in the same time, they work on their national politicies. This is the reason why Maldives remains the number dream holiday destination for super rich europeans irrespective of any disasters.
            .
Srilanka has lot more to offer naturally,… no doubt about that… but as is the case with those deserted OIL tanks built and left behind by the british, our leadership dont seem to how know-how how to use our resources. No country on this planet, with free given storage tanks left that long unused… those 101 tanks would have opened the most lucrative business if they started it long ago.
Instead of abusing funds being surrendered to the tricks of the chinese, if they did it with TANKS, country s economy would have boomed alone by that.
            .
However, looters have made people eternally stupid… their attitudes would never change. Those digital Nomads make every effort to paint the picture positiv for the country, however, they make it very clear that we are another nation where no law and order has its place as is the case in Pakistan and neigoburing India.

We have many politicians who have no principles or self respect. The parties keep recycling these politicians who will sell their mothers for millions of rupees, and will cross party lines at drop of a hat. They have no concern for the country or the people who vote them in, all they want is their pockets filled up, and all the perks that the people only dream of.

      It is just after midnight.
      .
I have phoned my pharmacy owner. He says medicines will be sold today. They have received instructions saying that they can charge what has been the price of drugs + 30% of that amount.
      .
So, that’s what he will do later today.
      .
All pharmacies will do that from the time they open today. That is their position, and as I understand it, they are not being dishonest. Many of us will die if we don’t take our medicine today.
      .
In relation to other affairs, Kumar has said that we must find out for ourselves; he is too busy. He is in Los Angeles, and I’m in Bandarawela.
      .
People who want to shout and scream that Kumar was a candidate for Parliament (National List) ought to understand that owing to not receiving sufficient votes, his NPP has only three Members of Parliament.
      .
Will these people stop shouting at Kumar’s Party at least now? Tell your woes to the people who were elected.

The chap in parliament I dislike most is Vasudeva Nanayakkara. He should retire from politics permanently. He is a really sick bugger. Another chap is Gamini Lokuge. Add Pavithra Vanniaratchi also. This is the caliber of our parliamentarians. I can’t believe people vote for characters like these!

The rank audacity of the scumbag Vasudeva Nanayakkara who ordained himself a leftist and is performing fellatio on the power elite to say he will keep his job but will not work! Should he not be kicked out too? If there was even a minute particle of honesty in this old fart he would have resigned with his fellow rats, from the stinking morass that is submerging in its own squalor.

The kind of men end up being in the hell for sure. Vasidewa ( a so called LAWYER) alone with his family ties (to Wiggie) could achieve lot more towards a permament solution to the ethnic problem. But the low life never thought of a nation, but about his own life. So does his master most abusive man of srilanken politics- Mafia Boss/Medamulana fox- Mahinda.
      :
In contrast to Vasidewa s clownish behaviour – his young relative Harshana Nanayakkara is doing his best.

And not to underestimate that we in today s context, main stream media being fully biased to promotion mlechcha Rajapkshes and their hoodwinking, no truths would outreach to the average. People would stay watching the ” fairy tales” of dead Elephants and the related services being delivered by such animals in capitivity.

How primitive our nation is fallen to ? Ironically, this occur in front of the SINHALA BUDDHIST monks. I dont think TRUE TEACHINGs of buddha would ever respect the animals in captivity.

      L P ,

“Should he not be kicked out too ?” A valid question ! ” If there was a
minute ………… he would have resigned with his fellow rats.” Well , it is
here that in y view , Vasu has played the cleverest ever game in his
      politics ! ” I won’t resign and I won’t work either ! ” Now , the Govt must
act against him ! As far as my guess goes , these are all part of a wider
eye wash in the midst of current wave of crisis . But either way , on the
surface at least , it looks a challenge to the head of state !

It has become clear that the Gota-regime is breathing its last is what Kumar David says. People, in general, would be happy, if he proves himself right.
I am not saying that his assessment is incorrect. If I do, my assessment too would be as wishful as his.
    .
Political thinking of Sri Lankans is not easy to predict. Voters are motivated by factors totally unrelated to politics!
    .
Having said that, let me look at, ‘so smart rats jumped ship first’. When did smart rats jump first? Not so smart. Smart rats keep watching what other rats are doing.
    .
No politician in Sri Lanka is convinced that GR has become a lame duck! If so, we’d be seeing more jubilant rats.
    .
SJB is not acceptable to people yet. Rats are smart too!

The two Jackals and the Joker together with Abeyatiss Tero and Muraththettuwe Ananda Thero are slaves of Mahinda Rajapakse. They have in the past cheated the voting masses. During the period when the 20th Amendment to the constitution was being introduced to the masses, they went on record opposing such an amendment, especially allowing foreigners to come into the Parliament. But just before the bill came into the Parliament they changed their colors and voted in favor of the bill. This is a typical cheating game they played and they are trying the same thing once again.

Abayatiss Thero and Muraththettuwe Thero a few months ago attacked the Rajapakse family and especially after getting the Chancellor’s post they have become strong supporters. This type of slaves are the downfall of Sri Lanka.

Who is Gamepilla, he is a guy who stole money due to an Australian selling shares by transferring them illegally to his name. He talks so much against foreign investments but he has his wife and children parked in Australia, one of these days when he is kicked out of politics for good he would run to Australia. He also collected money from the masses for his election but never enrolled as a candidate and never returned the money he collected back to the people.

      .
People are also dead silent yet today, no signs of starting to stone at Rajapakshes. That can be described due to our own genetics. As no other folks in south asian region, we the sinhalayas are misled by a CIRMINAL family produced by DA Rajapakshe.

Two absolute nariyas and one absolute clown. The first two always thought that their rabid racism will keep Mahinda and Gotta and co happy and to win the sinhala votes. But that is lost. Sinhalese are not ready for that while starving and totally betrayed by the Sinhala Buddhist Royal family. Now there are few rats hanging around squeeking loudly for their survival. Large red lipped pohora minister, Vambattu Kuttiya and Tavern Johnson are the main cryers and breast beaters. They have their survivals depend on how much they scream and cry. Kuttiya has to even lose his luxury BMW that was given with a condition that he heeps on barking. So soon things will be over and the issue is who are the new crooks will take over. Basically SL sinhalese dont have any honest leader to run the country. Only hope Gnanaacca my nominate some one with the power of Kali Amma, the Hindu Godess.

I am also surprised that the 5.9 million jokers/fools/donkeys etc. have ceased to be any such in recent times.

Or have people got wise to the reality that one needs the support of most of the 5.9 million (call them what you like) to put the country back in some order?

Don’t be surprised if the 3 Js are doing a stunt like what they have done before, only to fool us by re-joining the pack. These three are the worst scums on earth.
As for our plight, we may have to wait a very long time even after we are gone. Not even a resemblance of a Messiah is seen in the horizon till today.
Until then lets curse all the buggers who have destroyed this beautiful place.
