Uduwe Dhammaloka Arrested

Buddhist monk and politician Uduwe Dhammaloka was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today for allegedly possessing a baby elephant without a permit.

He was arrested by the CID soon after they recoded a statement from him at a temple in Polhengoda.

Even though the Thera denied allegations levelled against him, he had filed a FR petition earlier seeking an interim order preventing police from arresting him over the matter.Uduwe Dammaloka

          Ballah ,

Oooops … did you get hurt after watching the video clip ? Wow , what an explanation ! so , according to our very own Buruwansa , people leave behind baby elephants as if they are kittens and puppies , not a bad proposition though , your hero the con artist is still allowed to utter such nonsense , don’t you think he is extremely lucky to stay out of walikada so far ? this man is one of the cancers which we need to get rid of if we want to have a decent society.

          To Ballah,
what do you mean by your statement ” if the temples can’t have elephants, who can.”
There is no need for temples to have elephants. Elephants belong to the jungle thats why they are called wild life.
Temples are places of worship and prayer according to one’s belief.
Srikotha has elephants, but the two legged type and pea brained just like your’s. From your comments it looks like you are another pea brained grass eating wanker. Stop wanking yourself in a dark corner as that is bad for health. Be a normal person.

Go and see a good doctor and get checked up, because from your statements you seem to be suffering from “psynocockitis” which when defined is sudden rush of shit to the brain.
Your pea sized brain must be full of s–t.

Take a nice good bath, groom yourself, dress up and go to any temple and see a baby elephant in chains. Ask yourself ” would i be happy to live my life in chains seperated from my mother.”

Touch the elephant and feel the animal’s sense of loneliness and fear. Come home and contemplate what you did see and feel.

Finally Ballah !! for goodness sake stop wanking in dark corners and get your psynocockitis treated for your own good.

Goodluck to you and best wishes for a better future.

              Dear Ballah,
Spy13 was not in Angoda. He is thousands of miles away from that wretched place. Be a good boy and take his advice for its given to you in a kind manner.
Stop wanking yourself looking at all bad pictures in dark corners. Ask yourself ” what can i do to heal society in my very sick and ailing country.”
Your country Lanka is a lovely place in many ways, but tainted by all the present ugly things taking place at present.
Most lankans are good, nice people to meet and have a chat.
Not sure about you but if you stop wanking in dark corners you can fit into that category.
Rajapucksirs, Wickremasinghes, Kariyawasams, Weerawansas, Ranatungas, Ranawakas, etc are all wankers. They are bad company.
Turn away from them and you will be a better person.
Let them wank off if they want to, but you, good friend stop this wanking and look at life more realistically. Good Luck.

        Srilal,

I would better give my dana to ” walurupatiyek” than ot any kind of wrong monks. Today, MONKS are just another gropups of thugs/criminals/fraudlent ones hidden behind their Sanga costumes.

I was surprised during my travelling ot Lanka last – there was a prominent monk – traveling with a lady – presumably in the age of 35 years or so. The monk sat himself somewhere in the waiting lounge while the woman standing at a corner holding the passorts in her hand. This was somewhat suspicious to me from my first glance on. This was while waiting for my transit to lanka 29th July 2015 in Abudabi Airport. Etihard flight from Dusseldorf switched me to a transit flight from Abudabi to COLOMBO.
My guess is – this was a couple, this particular monk – was living like a layman with that women (the women looked as if she was electricshocked) We never saw the kind of incidents before. And the monk was not in business class, I lost my obersations anymore. All in all – this is the situation of the monks today.

          Sama,

It’s quite normal for the saffron clad thugs to indulge in many things which we laymen do on daily basis , more than we male species it’s our female counterparts who go after these rouge characters. just notice how many women folk would flock to any temple to offer Dana or any other stuff on any given day ! no matter how bad the reputation of the saffron clad thug is , still our women folks would rush to get the blessing , classic example is , Pitiduwe Siridamma or whoever he is , how many wealthy women go there to get the blessings from him ? Mr Uduwe Dammaloka is another such character , women get infatuated with his charm and charisma . these rouge monks know how to attract women , they just highlight our (men) shortcomings in-order to score brownie points.
i personally refuse to offer dana or any contributions to any of these rouge elements.

These pinguththarayas have become a severe headache to the society. There are lot more people that are really in need wthin the population. Pitaduwe Mr Siridamma or other will not help those poor. These men in wrong consutmes should have some sort of problems in them – to stay hide that way and behave other way around. Simply saying why them to stay further is the querstion any one sane would raise. If to abuse the people of the country, why to go that way ? These so called monks behave in the same manner the rich buisnessmen live their lives.

In WESTERN countries, we see drag queens or the like ones in female costumes- behave to get the attention – so is the motive of the monks of above nature in Srilanka. They have the kind of desires to deceive the nation. That may work them as a kick.

Forgetting all these, I am thinking of helping lanken villagers being beaten by Elephants in those areas. I have explained this with few or my friends in Europe. May be we can help them future getting those elephants cornered… this should go thorug lanken forest conservation ministry. We can only supply donations to build up electric fences. We should work hard for the project. We will make it. Greetings today from Germany.

ballah “more buddhist monks will be arrested to cover the increase of taxes….”

recently there has been a few and prominent Buddhist monks who were arrested and released on bail after a few days.

What is interesting there is hardly any murmur from the Rural Sinhala people.

      This is an interesting development.

Next time the Govt may lock them up and no one will raise an eyebrow?

    Most people know about Dhammaloka.
He has committed many crimes which have been covered and kept under wraps.

He is not a Buddhist monk.
He is the man who lavishly live and does so many dirty games by covering his body with saffron coloured dress.

This man- Dhammaloka must be punished and incarcerated for life.

what are the crimes that saintly looking thero had committed.

Bringing up an elephant is not that a serious matter. It is a statutory crime and there has been always instances statutes had reversed the situation. Before the open economy, exchange regulation were strict that many big names were considered as criminals for violating exchange regulation. Thereafter there was no such crime

A step in the right direction. Long way to go though.

We are waiting to learn about the fate of other more prominent elephant abusers and racketeers. Such as Podi Hamuduruwo of Gangaramaya, Kolonnawe Sumangala, Gota, Sajin Vaas, Namal, Shashindra & Judge Thilina Gamage etc.

    Please drag them in.

For the sake of immense damage caused to Sri Lanka’s delicate, rapidly disappearing wildlife.

For the unspeakable cruelty caused to elephants themselves. By brutally kidnapping baby elephants from the wild. Killing their mothers. Taming them by torture. Using awful bull hooks and endless, merciless beatings. For condemning them to a life in chains and slavery.

A total insult to everything that Buddhism stands for.

    Cheers!

How cruel separating a baby from a mother, even worse this act has been orchestrated by a Buddhist Monk who supposed to set an example for the community he serves for.

Our Parliament has now consisted of criminals, murderous and unfortunately Monks, the later thought to be attached to the pansalai and guide the people not the politicians.
We had Tsunami destruction by high velocity flow of wall of water; did we stop fishing in the sea? Of course the Tamil youths took arms to defend their right to live in the Tamil dominant East and North after being experienced discrimination in education and employment further to state sponsored racial violence from year 1656. The one in 1983 had driven out the Tamil population masses to the North and East that was aided by the then government providing ships and escorted surface transports. Why?? Why couldn’t they instead try and enforce the law and order to give assurance to the Tamils return to their homes. This act of the authorities in 1983 revealed to the international community that Tamils were safe in North and East, in other word a separate state.
Srilankan government at present has no challenges from armed Tamil youth but the real challenges from UNO and other international communities. It is very sad that the Tamil political detainees are still to be released as no one seems to be understanding or sympathize with their immediate families. You probably have noticed the father, mother and brother of Yositha Rajapakse, how many visits have been made to visit him in the luxury detention? Why the law is beneficial for the rich but not for the poor.

Please please whoever those who reads this message do something about releasing those Tamil political prisoners to re-join their loving ones will pave the way for a racial harmony.

This baby elephant was for the first time detected being transported in a lorry on August 22, 2011 at Talawatugoda. The eye witness to this who was driving his car at the time, reported it on 119, but could not get any contact. By that time he had telephoned several persons and went to the police at welikada, but he was told to get lost, because by that time this priest has already given a telephone call. However with all the commotion that followed, the baby elephant was taken to Wild Life Conservation office at Battaramulla. Please remember, by that time all the prominent politicians, including the Hela Urumaya have got involved. It is at that place this so called priest -Uduwe Dhammaloka, appeared. He (the priest) gave a good dressing down (the language that cannot be written) to about forty people who gathered there by that time. In the midst if all that the Officials got a call from the “highest citizen” of the country and the baby elephant was released. That is the history, well witnessed and recorded by the eye witnesses including the media personnel. Please also remember the lorry driver confessed that he was taking this baby elephant to the temple of Uduwe Dhammloka; but he did not posses any registration papers.

I hope to hear the above facts in courts and prove that this priest’s story of finding an “abandoned” baby elephant at his temple would be thrown at his face. I also hope the courts will not recognize the “saffron attire” of this accused and hand down a severe punishment, if found guilty so that it will be a signal to remind that it is “No Nonsense” in terms of Yahapalanaya concepts. I expect that Yahapalanays to be established first by the Law Enforcement Agencies that include Judiciary, the Police etc; because the Politicians cannot be trusted to go in that direction. These exposures are necessary to clear the name of true Buddhist Priests and for the preservation of Buddha’s Teachings. Further more it will be an eye opener for all those “DAYAKAYS” (followers) to give up supporting these “ROUGE” priests clad in “saffron attire”.

    • 7
      1

Dayakays will still follow them blindly. That is monk hegemony. They know how to make the poorly educated masses of people to fall at their feet and worship them and even make them to show love and reverence for who they are and the sacrifices they make for the sake of their Lord Buddha. Sweet talkers they are, who know how to capture their audiences in awe and make them spellbound by their Dhamma talks.

I hope the truth will come out and the witnesses will have the courage to give evidence.

This is a critical turning point and a display to all Sri Lankans that they must abide by the law regardless of who or what they are. Because, next to the barrel of a gun, only laws will ensure peaceful behaviour of the human beings no matter what they believe in, or where they live.

In addition, in this particular case, Buddhist monks will come under maximum scrutiny by the people (something long overdue) and that will ensure that only righteous monks will remain among us and they will jettison the bad ones.

      Fantastic development.

This yellow robed sewer mouthed rogue should be punished severely.
Cheating the nation ,the justice system and the sacred religion.
He need to be put along with the other yellow robed thugs in Welikade.

On the note of the ” Dayakkas ” they’re all brainless , brainwashed , jobless housewives who have no time for their husbands or children but follow these yellow robed , shaven headed casanovas and cleans their backsides .

All in the name of LORD BUDDHA. These brain dead women will continue their service ,eg: cleaning , cooking , offering all their wealth and Sleep with these Casonava Rogues.

That’s Srilanka and Srilankan women. Take this or leave it , It is the Truth.
    It’s all a joke of a Religion.

Why are monks fascinated by ownership of elephants young and old, and with teeth of elephants also known as tusks ?
Is it a (false) sign of “prestige”?
Teeth could be taken only from dead elephants, and thus killing of these majestic beasts is encouraged and condoned.
This monk is setting a bad example, contravening the law.
I hope he is warned (of severe punishment in the future) and discharged.
I will not like to see priests of any religion being imprisoned for such an offence.

    • 3
      0

Priests of any religion, if found guilty of a punishable offense, should be treated like any other citizen and put behind bars. According to your way of thinking, Mathew Peiris should have been given a severe warning and sent back home for killing his wife, just because he happened to be a priest. Please think rationally.

Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero has no Cuban connection like DJ & Tamara but has US connection that can be verified by Milinda.
So he has strength. You can see his right hand is as strong as elephant’s trunk. Both get good food I guess.

He knows how to charm not to challenge when it comes to an Elephant.

There are so many monks who grow their hair, and some even have beards. Most of them change their siyura in the night and wear normal clothes and go to town to enjoy a drink and a little night life. If the head is shaved they will be instantly identified, so they grow their hair but maintain a short crop to fit into the laymen’s society.

Elephant is the mascot of the UNP.They have copy rights too.

While Batalanada was in the wilderness for nearly 20 years, our Dalits started to play around with elephants, even some adopting them as pets.

Now that Batalanda has been crowned as the Yahapalana CEO, he wants to bring all elephants back to his turf.

He has even cloned Red Pachyderms with the funds donated by Elephant lovers in the West .

Although Buddhist Temples traditionally had an affinity for Elephants and it is recorded as a symbol of Buddhist tradition in our Mahawamsa. Batalanda and his mates want to change all that.

And make Malwatta the Vatican of Sinhala Buddhism.

    One slight snag though..

What are our Dalits and their Monks going to call themselves?..

I am not a “Dayaka” of Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero. However, what I am concerned is applying the double standards of law to ordinary people and opposition supporters and politicians. These are the examples:

    1. Muslim Minister who alleged to have cleared the bordering forest land of Willpaththu National Park is in the government side and no action is taken. There were reports that he and his family has acquired 3000 acres of frest land illegally in Mannar and willpaththuwa. No action is taken by the Government.
    2. Hirunika Pamachadra- Remanded and released or bailed out immediately.
    3. Hela Karumaya Member-Ranawaka has not questioned or arrested so far after an accident.

I have read some of the comments written by Sinhalese Buddhists (Nominal Buddhists) on this column insulting this Buddhist monk. I have a kind request. Please do not write abusive languages against any Buddhist Monk. There is a saying we respect the “Lord Buddhas Cheewaraya” not the man who robes that.

The monks in yellow robes ( good number) who insults Lord Buddha and Buddhism should be punished by the Mahasangha , they should face the court of law of Sangha and punished accordingly first for their wrong doings before they face the law and justice system of the country.
The Religion has come to this stage because there is no law and order in the Sangha. Are they all too old to take disciplinary action against those wayward monks now??

On the subject of Dayakas why are they so blind to their hilt to differentiate between a good monk and a bad one.

Does our Buddhism says treat the monks ( bad ones ) well first and ignore or ill treat their husband and their children at home. When these Dayakas spends the whole day at the vihare praying to go to heaven while the family starves back home.
I don’t believe that Lord Buddha would have expected from the Dayakas this kind of believes.
Need some discipline within the Sangha.

This is one good news I have come across among a string of bad news with regards to Yahapalanaya.

I applaud whoever the big wig is behind the decision to arrest this charlatan in saffron robes for the crime of stealing and dealing with protected wild life. He should be kept bail refused.

Read Douglas’s comment above. That is the real Facts of the case. There are many witnesses ready to give evidence if the CID are serious about going ahead with this matter.

If the calve elephant found in his premises – what he had to do was to inform the police and seek the legal ways.
Just to keep the calve for his own should be a crimal act basta

Most of these monks hide behind the red sarees, just enjoy their fantasies abusing SANGA life: In my days 4 decades ago, we respected them above everything. But since I got to see King of Racism – WITH all cespit style mouth piece- Galbaoda Balusara – I stopped even asking any of my ones to offer dana as had been before. These men do all kind of wanachara practices in their temples. I also go against any kids being taken by Temples, I have no doubts that samaneras are being sexually abused by ADULT monks in the course of their growth in those temples/piriwenas.

Today, Buddhist monks are just jokers. To my days, they were like family counsellors in a coutry where majority of the nation are under poverty. Even today, they say it is a midincome earning country but not having enough Psyhoclogists or sociologist or the like profesisonals to help the child growth in the country- this si sth reaosn why we see every 4 th young boys get caught by DRUGS. drug mafia or other fraudulent crimes

You dont need to have collected a degree or univesity education, but you need to know the law of the country.

So long people are aware of laws and regulations in terms of anything. Nothing will go that far.

On the west, even if a cat or dog would have been taken away having seen th eparticular animal free moving on the road, that is a punishable act.
This reminded me once I happened to touch a cat strolled next to me on the river side where i went for a walk (Basel rhein river). There, not knowing the cat is being detected by her owner, I just tried to play with her – subesequently I was questioned by police why I did so- if it was not my cat. These cats look as if they just belong no body are being detected by a system ( around the neck there was a band containing a chip). GPS signals could help tracing whereever cat goes. That is about laws, rights and the stuff related to cats in Switzerland.

The fellow is under oath to not to lie. But he lies, a damn lie. Who on earth will leave baby elephants at the door steps of a temple, except Gotabhaya those good old days. When Dhmmaloka goes to London he has been seen in slacks and shirts. What for. Damn rascal. We are ashamed to be called Buddhists because of hoodlums like this. Do you know he charged Rs. 30,000/ for a Dhamma Sermon. He takes his own audio system which he put a charge for it.

Who to be blamed if not the stupid buddhists hired him ?

People of this country make MONKs businessman.Stupid people of this country turn the innocient to high criminals. Passivity is also a crime – whenever they notice them, each and everyone should react automatically. Civil courage is far from them.

If real buddhists are there, they should stand against wrong ful monks.

RW and MY3 CANT change entire system if folks would not grasph it.
I hate this. I am planning to give a dana to sanga on my next visit to lanka. But i am very worried of thinking about the charges that these safron robbed men are upto.

My mother never wanted to waste sums for nothing. She thought expected us to give dana to good monks, but never to any abusive monks. It was her wish me to go for a good buddhist pirith and dana. There I will sacrifice myself even if I mylsef dont like giving dana to lanken temple monks.

        @Sinchoappu

So how do you identify a “good monk” ?

All pirith is the same words. What is “good” buddhist pirith and dana ?

Can you tell me the secret please ?

        • 1
          0

Secret is simple. You have to find them through those who know the monks well. Not play boys like Siridamma or the like should even be be given anything. Most of them have become palhoru to this date. Not almost every monk belongs to the category of the monks we described above. But for sure, many among known to us are not seelawantha type. They behave in the same manner as lay people would do. I would not want to incl. meat or fish in DANA, no matter some monks would order us prior to DANA day. They could better order their dana from a take away service, if they want to order us what to be inlcu. what not. I am more into help the aged and the children. Anyways we will continue doing the latter every year. That was our mother s wish.

maalumiris, I would consider “a good monk” to be one that follows the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path. Nothing more is needed!

The stupid people who encourage the artificial nonsense of worshiping these so-called monks and giving them money and gifts fail to understand the Buddha’s message, are to blame for the ego trips these ‘monks’ are on.

Monks must return to places suitable for meditation and teach children the values the Buddha taught. The rest of the rituals have no place in the philosophy of the Buddha.

Well I wonder how a such learned monk who elloquently talk of intricacies of political, economic, social issues and tell people how to have decent law abiding, socially acceptable human beings is not aware that retaining an elephnat is illegal…?

Had there being a child droped at his temple what do you think he may have done?
“ooh someone unwanted child or some mother unable to bring up the child has left, so I am going to bring up the child. No need to inform the police? the Courts? or the social service.?

By the way has anyone visited Alan Mathinitaraya to check how many cats and dogs are left at the temple by others and with how many of these animals our beloved monk has taken the interest to do “Metta” and fondle them? Taken the trouble to feed them. Take photograpghs.

This may be even excessive action considering this monk is a public figure. However, it may also consider being a well known public character is not reason for anyone to act that they are beyond the law of the country. Ignorent of the law and rules are not and excuse. So it will be message for all people who are fluanting the law. CID please see that you act the same way on all the other cases.

So SL can build decent society.

    So,
Is it true that the Counsel Extraordinaire Namal Rajapaksa advised him to say that he had a Fundamental Rights petition in the court, although he did not have one?

Is it true that Wimal Weerawansa told him to claim that the baby elephant was a present?

Is it ture that he told the CID that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa helped him to get the bay elephant from the police?

If YES, why are those three still not picked up?
