CJ’s Case: AC To Decided Tomorrow Whether To Issue Interim Order And Serve Notice On Speaker

By Colombo Telegraph

A three judge bench of the Appeals Court today reserved their order on the writ application by Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake against the findings of the Parliamentary Select Committee to be delivered at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Chief Justice

President of the Court of Appeal S. Sriskandarajah, and justices Anil Gooneratne and A.W.A. Salaam heard submissions in support of the motion by Counsel for the Chief Justice, Romesh De Silva PC.

The three judge bench will decide whether to grant an interim order and serve notice on the 13 respondents cited in the petition tomorrow.

De Silva said that the PSC procedure had not followed due process and could not grant his client a fair trial. He told the court that no procedure under law to carry out an inquiry into the charges contained in the impeachment motion against his client and added that some members of the PSC had verbally abused the Chief Justice.

In the Writ Applications filed in the Court of Appeal, the Chief Justice is seeking to quash the PSC report and its findings and restrain the Speaker from further action with regard to the impeachment.

The PSC aka. Kangaroo Court Report should be BURNED IN PARLIAMENT by the people to show their contempt of ALL the politicians there!
The general public have not even seen it cos Rajapassa is embarrassed to leak or release it like they did the CJ’s hank details! The Kangaroo Court report is clearly not worth the paper it is printed on.

Now it is time to turn the torch invard and IMPEACH Mahinda Rajapakse for massive corruption, land grabbing by family members and fraud (committed in the name of guess what “ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT”, masterminded by Mr 10 percent Basil Rajapassa who does not have a basic university degree and knows nothing about ethical, sustainable development and economics), and for running Kangaroo Courts and bringing disrepute to the legislature and judiciary and the sovereign people of Lanka.

I fully approve and agree with the comment of DODO.We heard of Kangaroo Courts that Prabakaran ran as a terrorsit. We now saw how a family is trying to establish a dynastic dictatorship by dislodging a well recognised established judiciary by getting the judges do as they want. Its true the SILVAS destroyed the good name. One Bugger is now laundering for the King that Asoka Silva.
Everyone knows that corruption is very high.I read sometime back in this website that the Security Officer Chamal’s son who worked for Gamini Wickramasinghe as a draughtsmen trainee owns a house in Arcadia Gardens off Rosmead Place. As people who live in the Matara district we have heard from our parents that Rajapaksas had no wealth.
This report must be burned and an independent Commission must probe the allegations and if found correct then action taken to remove the CJ.
These honest fellows must at least now declare their assets in line with the law
