By Colombo Telegraph –
Aravinda Perera, former District Judge of Colombo who had been interdicted by the previous Judicial Service Commission (JSC) was reinstated as a Supernumerary District Judge Colombo with immediate effect, the Colombo Telegraph learns.
Aravinda Perera was interdicted for financial misconduct and being in CRIB for not settling series of loans. His interdiction was believed to be one of the reasons for the failed attempts by the President to summon the JSC headed by Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayaka.
District Judge Perera and Matara District Judge Tilina Gamage are close associates of Namal Rajapaksa, the son of the President. District Judge Gamage, is another judge with political connections (and financial allegations) is also transferred as Magistrate Fort, which is a key station, where most of the sensitive cases are heard.
“The massage is clear. Be with the regime, you are fully protected.” a senior President’s Counsel told Colombo Telegraph on condition of anonymity.

Everyone should talk to a convicted thief, at least once in their life. You will soon realize the alternate world that they live in, where the value system has been morphed to justify what they had done to be convicted. Neither the thief or his/her close relatives will accept what they had done was wrong. Same with the Rajapaksas.
It is sometimes awe inspiring to see some people convince themselves that day is night and night is day, if such thinking can be seen as beneficial to them. In that respect human mind is an amazing thing; I don’t know whether to be impressed by it or be disappointed.
I do how ever enjoy this freak show immensely!!!

The continuing destruction of good governance is frightening. Mechanisms to ensure good governance are being manipulated intentionally to subvert every principle of good governance.

Ceylon changed to Sri Lanka sometime back. It is now opportune and timely to rename as “Rajapaksha Dvipaya” the way they are acquiring state institutions and public assets…Suggest they list it in the CSE and NYSE.

It truly shows who you are as a leader, when you have thugs, interdicted officials reinstated, and dishonest officials in your government. Fish usually starts rotting at the head, but eventually finds it’s way to the tail.
You cannot achieve your devious agenda if you appoint upright and honest officials in your government.
We have witness upright and honest officials sent home packing and replaced by the Rajapaksa like minded yes men, and this appointment should not surprise us.

In the DN of July 23, 2012 Idi Mahin (a.k.a. Hitlerpaksha) said – “Independence of the judiciary will be ensured. Although I am the President, I am also a lawyer.” LAWYER!! my foot. The judiciary, headed by Idi Mahin, will very soon close down operations of all newspapers if they don’t toe the line.

What a Mockery of Justice? Is this not the guy who violated speed limits on the Southern High Way doing over 160 KMPH, took a photo of the Odo-meter and posted on his Facebook? He is also a drunkard and sits behind the wheel and escape Police due to his position. Now he would do certainly better as the Police will piss in their pants the moment he reveals who he is, when stopped. He has taken loans from every bank and have defaulted. I wonder what the pompous CJ will have to say on his reinstatement? If he has an ounce of shame he should have objected. No he is also a sycophant who has no shame and self respect. How can he point the finger at others, when he himself connived with PBJ to defraud this country running into hundreds of millions? PBJ himself a convicted fraudster was reinstated. Indictments against murderers are withdrawn. Others who have committed cold blooded murder are allowed to go Scot free. Today’s headlines of the dailies is how Malaka has been released on AG’s advice. This same AG has left the induction ceremony of Upul Jayasuriya because the former CJ attended, as he felt it is demeaning to be present. Then how come this scumbag of an AG resort to this kind of behaviour which is far worse than being present at the ceremony where the former CJ was present? All these buggers are shameless lackeys of the cesspit of Corruption that is MR and eating Gota’s pig shit. What if Ranil had done one hundredth of what this Shameless MR has done? Where are those Ranil Bashers now? SHAME! SHAME!

Gamini,
Your revealations are shocking.
Do we need judges like Arvinda Perera?
How are judges selected in sri lanka?
It is said that mostly briefless lawyers become judges.
In UK, judges are the Queen’s judges. They implement justice in the name of the Queen.
One Lord Chanceller said “We always appoint gentlemen as judges. If they know the law,so much the better”.
Of course there are ‘black sheep’- but these are quickly sorted out and quietly got rid of.
When will this happen here.
/
gamini / April 6, 2013
Why not, it is happening here as well like in the UK where Justice is implemented in the name of the Queen, In Sri Lanka Injustice is implemented in the name of the Merderous Rogue of a President MR.
