Fundamentalism Creeps Into Muslim International Schools

Ilma International, a leading Muslim private girls school in Colombo Sri Lanka, has been preaching a fundamentalist Islamic ideology to its children, the Colombo Telegraph learns.

The school, housed at the heart of Colombo has for decades provided Islamic education to Muslim girls.

However, deviating from traditional Sri Lankan and South East Asian Muslims, the school together with many other such Muslim schools spread around the country have deviated to Salafist- Wahabist teachings over the past decade, causing concern among Muslims, according to parents who spoke to Colombo Telegraph.

The rise of extremist movements in Sri Lanka has been systematic with the earliest reports coming from the late 90’s.

However the rise has been exponential in the past 7 years, according sociologists.

The ‘black face veil or the Burqa is seen as a symbol of this rising radicalism together with the recent revelation by Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi.

The Defence Secretary in a communique earlier this year said that 36 Muslims have left the shores to fight for ISIS a terror group calling for a global re-unification of Muslims.

” This sort of this happening from Sri Lanka is just mind blowing. The Muslims here lived in peace and freedom and have never ever been accused of moving away from the local culture or associating themselves with global terror,” Mohomed Ameer told Colombo Telegraph.

Many Muslims in Sri Lanka who defend the extremist ideologies invoked by Saudi, are in complete denial of the causal link between the ” face covering” ideology and the men who left to fight for the ISIS.

*Video via Channel 4 News

In this VIDEO fundamentalist Muslims in the United Kingdom while using verses to propagate fascism also deny that there is a link between their ideology and terrorism. When one Muslim confronts a radical and says ” you are recruiting for ISIS”, the radical looks at the Channel 4 crew and asks ” have you ever seen me do that?”, much akin to Lankan Muslims in complete denial of the causal link.

According to Sri Lankan military sources all 36 men and their extended families adhere to the strict and fundamentalist interpretation of the Quran.

“All of them and their extended families lived under strict Islamic rule. Some dont have chairs in the house, not because of poverty, but because apparently there were no chairs during the time of the Prophet. Almost all the women and their extended families wore a Burqa or a black garb” an officer said.

The rise in the Burqa, which was not prevalent in the country over a decade ago is also a significant factor in understanding the nature of the fundamentalist.

“Lankan Muslim women always wore the saree or the Shalwar Kameez for centuries. I dont think anyone in our generation or the previous generation remember seeing women in black garbs in Sri Lanka. This is something alien and was only seen in Saudi”  a sociologist told the Colombo Telegraph.

According to many academics the new wave of Islam is an attempt to resist the ‘perceived western domination’ .

” The fact that the Muslim empires suffered defeat, economic, political and military defeat at the hands of western forces is one reason which fuelled this in the early 1900. The ideology was to completely negate themselves or resist any western influence and go back to the ages of Muslim domination which radical Islam believes was best. Its a paradox of sorts. They want a future that lives in the past, defying any sane logic or rationale” the Colombo Telegraph was told on condition of anonymity.

Earlier last year a Muslim poet and activist Sharmila Seyyid was forced to flee the country after being ” hounded by Mullahs”. The poet who is a mother of one and wrote her poetry in Tamil had been threatned repeteatedly by fundamentalist elements in her hometown in Batticaloa.

” This has never been the case and its alarming that the authorities didnt even pay due regard to this. Muslims of Sri Lanka have been a very vibrant part of the Lankan literature and culture. Never were their people imposing their beliefs systems on other Muslims. Those days a mosque festival used to be where the Sinhalese Tamil and Muslim children came to play and enjoy while the elders were reciting in the mosque. It was actually a feast with lights and decorations but today how many do we see?’ MAM Ismail a resident of Kandy told the Colombo Telegraph.

The city of Kattankudy, a city in the East of Sri Lanka is seen also as a symbol of a complete fundamentalist turn. Columnist Izeth Hussain writing to the Colombo Telegraph last year provided in detail accounts of date trees being planted in the area and the extent of the fundamentalism.

Many other ” Muslim” schools which come under the supervision of the education ministry are also propagating fundamentalist and segregationist ideals according sources.

” The school uniform of a Muslim girl was always a shawl around the bosom and long trousers. How many Muslims do you see dressed like that now?. How many Muslim students do you dressed in fully white face veils? This is not fear mongering but its the truth. Muslim leaders have kept their mouths shut about this because they fear backlash or they don’t want to ruffle any feathers given the nonsense that racist groups like the Bodu Bala Sena and others are promoting” a parent told Colombo Telegraph on the condition of anonymity.

According to many, Muslim students either wear the black face veil or the white face veil depending on the criteria set by the school, completely in ignorance of the segregation it causes.

Researches believe that moderate Muslims fear to take any stand against the rise in fundamentalism which draws parallels with fascist ideologies.

” These people are violent and they will quote the Quran as and when they could. Traditional peace loving Muslims are in fear to take this on because the backlash can be crazy. They just dont want to argue on the Quran, but the fact is that even the ISIS quotes the Quran. So who is to justify any nonsense that they do by quoting the Quran or the Bible or any other text? how can you.” Ameer asked.

The Colombo Telegraph learns that despite attention being drawn to these reports, Muslim ministers have shied away from addressing due to fear of backlash.

The rise in Sinhala racism also has led to Muslim leaders shying away from addressing the issue due to fear of “giving in”.

” The fact is there is a problem. This problem must be addressed. The Bodu Bala Sena should not be the reason it must be addressed but for the longevity and freedom of all Muslims. Because if it is not addressed, Sinhala racism against Muslims is only going to rise”, Ameer said.

Many social media activist also pointed out the lack of Muslim youth voices in quelling the extremism coming from among the Muslims.

” If you take Sinhala racism, the opposition comes from the Sinhalese itself. Even if its Tamil seperatism on social media its the Tamil community who first raise the flag and then joined by either racist or moderate Sinhalese. But what is alarming is the silence of Muslims. Muslims just do not ever speak against this and its on one hand sad and on the other very alarming”, Channa Abeetha Dahanayanke a researcher on anthropology and social media trends told the Colombo Telegraph.

She blamed the lack of education among the Lankan Muslims.

” Even among the educated they lack any knowlegde of religion except the dictas of the Quran. Islam is much more than that, and anyone reading a religion will know the literature, culture, how rules were imposed etc. None of these people know this. The kids in Madrasas are only thought to read the Quran. Not a word of the culture, the reasonings for rules, other religions, philosophy is taught. This ignorance is not only prevalent in rural areas but even many Colombo Muslims have no clue about anything else except rules” Dahanayake said.

Following is a meeting in which a letter of one parent sent to Ilma International against the fundamentalist practices promoted in the school is being read out.

As a male Sri Lankan Moor (I do not wish to comment on my religious views but I am not a islamic fundamentalist for certain), who’s sisters attended Ilma upto OL’s, I can tell you this.
The kind of Oppression that goes on is ridiculous. I also attended a school in the direct vicinity of Ilma and it’s a damn shame that we even have a school like this. Schools should me a melting pot of cultures and religions.

It is interesting to note that Muslim girls don’t cover them selves when they come for job interviews. They are aware that in offices such behavior is not tolerated. However if they get the job on merit, then they start covering their heads and start coming to work.

Hope the Muslim girls understand that this type of behavior is not going to bring unity among communities.

“It is interesting to note that Muslim girls don’t cover them selves when they come for job interviews. ‘

That is because Muslim men Molest, and get excited when they see uncovered women, even old ones. The Men know that and therefore require their sisters, wives and mothers to cover themselves. This effectively covers all the Muslim women.

As young girls, they are brainwashed to believe that if they do not cover themselves, they will end up in Hell fire along with the Devil, Iblis, Satan.

They are NEVER told that the Wahhabies and their Clones Follow Iblis Satan, and that is why they Kill other Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

This is not a religious issue rather a cultural issue, its a fight created by naqshabandis. They were instrumental in getting prophet Muhammads birthday (which even he did not celebrate) as a mercantile holiday while the two Eids are mere public holidays. The celebration is promoted by muslim politiicans so they can attend these events as chief guests unlike the Eid festivals. The Naqshabandis are a minority that operate only through small places like the Devatagaha mosque frequented by politicians of all fatih.

Islam in muslim schools or any government schools is taught by a syllabus prepared by the Ministry of Education.

As a practicing muslim, I don’t believe the Burqa has a place in Islam. A “veil” is optional but not required. It’s ridiculous to ask a woman to cover her face (on the grounds that it will attract men) and then allow a man to expose his chest. Won’t a woman be attracted to a mans chest?
This is not Islam, it’s some weird man made rule. The Quran doesn’t insist a woman covers her face – so called “scholars” simply interpret it as so and a bunch of so called “muslims” choose to follow those “scholars”.

In my opinion, the opinions preached by some Wahabi preachers are dangerous to society. Likewise, the opinions preached by the speaker in that video is dangerous to Islam. He talks about practicing the religion of our forefathers…the fact is, our forefathers started ingraining political opinions into the religion during the Ottoman Empire (which, incidentally, is when the Shariah law was compiled into one books from multiple other sources – some, of which, conflicted with each other – this is the law they follow as the law of God…great).

The only source a Muslim should follow is the Quran, read with an open heart with eyes of love. If you look for hatred, that is what you will find. The hadith, in my opinion, masks the Qurans beauty and shrouds it with violence and hatred. The hadith is a book written 200+ years after the death of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW). I know about Isnad (science of the hadith) but even with the rules of Isnad, how can anyone claim the hadith is 100% correct? It’s ridiculous. The hadith is what has all these crazy laws of stoning a person to death, strict rules for women but relaxed rules for men, that dogs are forbidden, etc. The Quran has none of that, yet in many places, the Quran says it is complete, perfected, with examples of everything and without the need for supporting books – yet people follow the hadith because they claim the Quran doesn’t specify the details. Judge for yourself.

Drop the hadith and read (and mostly UNDERSTAND) the Quran and we can be done with these extremists and their politicized version of Islam.

      Totally agree with you, Mrhy.

“But what is alarming is the silence of Muslims. Muslims just do not ever speak against this and its on one hand sad and on the other very alarming”, Channa Abeetha Dahanayanke a researcher on anthropology and social media trends

Totally agree. They don’t want to be seen creating issues among this small community.

      She blamed the lack of education among the Lankan Muslims ;

It is not the education but the mindset and attitude of a few. Externally, they are pious Muslims but what lacking is the internal purification as required in Islam and the understanding of the religion. They look down upon the Muslims who do not cover their heads, working women etc. They think and act as if they are a superior lot, direct descends of the prophet ! Actually they are a hypocrite lot. These are the new rich Muslims with Middle Eastern money or earned by wrong means. Unfortunately, these women are not aware how their men make money but go around looking down at others.

What a shame, they are an insult to the religion !

You’re right, it’s difficult to speak out against these practices. I come from a Muslim family whose beliefs are contrary to mine. I openly oppose some of the practices they believe in, especially the ones that I feel are oppressive towards women but then I’m seen as someone who is trying to change things. Some even think I’m a heretic. That’s fine if they do, maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m right, this is just my belief. What’s funny is that they don’t see it that way, they believe they are right and that’s that. How do you have an intelligent conversation with someone who is not willing to believe they are only human can make mistakes? For once, I’d like a response based on the Quran and logic rather than the standard “this is how our forefathers practices Islam”. Well, Prophet Muhammads forefathers didn’t practice Islam, neither did Ibrahim (AS) and others. By that logic, shouldn’t they have simply followed the religion of their forefathers.

The other thing is, some people use religion to scare people into believing. They’d imply that if you didn’t use a hijab or burqa, you’d go to hell. What utter BS. We start our recitals with “Bismillah-ir-rahman-ir-raheem” which translates to “In the name of Allah, the most beneficient, the most merciful”. Yet, they say “Your Lord will cast you in hell if you don’t cover your hair”. Really? They practice Islam based on fear, is what I feel. To me, Islam is a religion of love and it really upsets me that it’s being abused this way.

And you’re also right about money earned in wrong ways. I mean, people from all religions do that, but the point is, if you claim to be so God loving, how can you betray him with dishonesty? Also, some of the more extremist ones say that it’s wrong to celebrate Christmas and this and that…but when Christmas time comes around, they are the first ones to have a sale at their shop – so they gain money because of Christmas. Based on their logic (not mine, I think it’s fine), is that not unethical? It’s like saying you can’t drink alcohol but you can be a bar tender. Supply and demand.

The Holy Quran says, 100 Lashes,

1, The Iblis-Satan following Abdul Wahhab Says, stone to Death, The Wahhabites, then stone to death.

They are really Abdul Iblis, Salves of Satan.

The list is very long. Just read Amarasiri’s many comments.

I agree. The list is endless. The stoning to death was a cultural thing in that part of the world at the time. It was a practice that existed long before Islam (in fact, it appears in holy books of other religions prior to Islam). One of Islams goals was to remove such practices which is why the Quran recommends lashes. It was decades after the death of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that this practice was brought back in and eventually became a part of the hadith.

And the law will either do nothing, or act in a reactionary way once someone has spoon-fed this to them. As for Kattankudi, a brain-damaged toddler could tell you that the East has been neglected to the point of being spited, for decades now. Besides Trinco and the Rajapkse-led beautificaion, what has anyone done for that region? You neglect an area of that size, you’re going to get this kind of thing developing.

High time Colombo stopped playing petty party politics and actually did something useful.

Colombo Telegraph is sensationalizing the differences Muslims have amongst them. Prophet Mohamed is to be revered, but not treated as a god in Islam. Birthday’s are not celeberated. It is a Christian culture wven Buddhists in this country follow. The speaker in the video and his lot worship the Prophet and his family. This is not Islam. This is practiced by other religions. In Islam there is no heir achy and everyone is equal. Just go and see how these people behave at Devatagaha. They perform Idol worship which is forbidden in Islam. They kiss and cry over the grave of the saint buried there and ask him to grant favours/ As a Muslim, one is to Ask only allah and there is no need of any agent to reach out to Allah. There are even places where “Mal Vatti’s” are offered to the saints, mostly by non-muslims. This is totally forbidden in Islam. So, they themselves are a fundamentalist group, especially look at the dress the speaker is wearing, it is not Sri :lankan.

The CT article says that covering the face and body with Abaya and Burqa are new things. Yes, they are new, and it is because of the freedom Muslim women have won to move out of their homes. Traditionally, Muslim women were not allowed to move around alone without a immediate blood relative or husband accompanying, but todays modern world, there is mobility of all sexes. Abaya or Burqa, some mistakenly presume is the solution but it is not an Islamic dress. During the 50’s 60’s and 70’s, affluent Muslims who travelled in cars had curtains around the passenger section of the car, so that people could not see them from outside. The current generation may not be able to even imagine how this could have looked. So they had a burqa around the car. Islam clearly says, wear modestly and do not show the contours of your body. Any dress of non-transparent materials, loosely worn is what is recommended in Islam. Some have sought the Arab culture of wearing Hijab and Burqa. This is not Islamic, but worn mainly by the adherence of the Tableeq movement. The ACJU and the head of this RIZWE MUFTHI, with whom the DEFENSE MINISTRY sleep all the time are the ones who are introducing this fundamentalism. The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka, MCSL introduced a the coloured abaya in pastel shades that has caught on especially with the younger generation, but still the fundamentalists of the tableeh moment is apposing it.

The defence ministry is still full of the Gota/Mahinda stooges and they probably are trying to re-ignite the hate and racism prevalent during their rule. WHile there should be strict laws to remove the face cover, women should have the freedom to wear what they choose. Women’s rights groups are fighting to expose as much as their body as possible, including walking nude in public and calling it freedom of choice but are criticizing Muslim women choosing to wear decent clothing. This is the hypocrisy of the western dominated world today.

Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi and Muslims, Part 1.

If it Quacks like a Devil, Walks like a Devil and Kills like a Devil, it is likely a Devil, Iblis, Satan or a Devil Follower.

    1. “Salafist- Wahabist teachings over the past decade, causing concern among Muslims, according to parents who spoke to Colombo Telegraph.”

    2. “Ilma International, a leading Muslim private girls school in Colombo Sri Lanka, has been preaching a fundamentalist Islamic ideology to its children, the Colombo Telegraph learns.”

    3. “However the rise has been exponential in the past 7 years, according sociologist.”

    4. “The ‘black face veil or the Burqa is seen as a symbol of this rising radicalism together with the recent revelation by Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi.”

What all the above 4 point and other points show is the Impact of the Iblis, Satan Following Wahhabi and their Clones.

Who are these Iblis Following Wahhabies and their Clones. Ask the following Thelogical and Fundamental Questions from these Wahhabies and Salafies, who are Iblisis, Satanists. The Evidence is given below.

Questions and Evidence on Iblisi Wahhabies from Ibn Taymiah and Abdul Wahhab

    1. Their Iblisic-Satanic Ideology is based on the interpretations of Ibn Taymiah, who claimed that the Mongols attacked the Muslims because they were not good Muslims, and they had to get back to the Muslims of the First 4 Caliphs, three of whom were assassinated. ( Similar arguments were advanced by the Jews every time there was a calamity).

It is well known in Islamic Theology when there is calamity, there is the Devil, Satan, Iblis. The Holy Quran warns well over 25 times about the Satan, Devil. Based on the activism and promotion of Ibn Taymiah Theology, it is apparent that he was infected by Satan. Evidence is given below. The Mongols had converted to Islam, by this time and apparently Satan-Iblis was not happy about that)

    a) This raised the question of Muslims Fighting Muslims. Apparently but fighting the Muslims was legitimate Jihad, Ibn Taymiah Expounded on instructions from Satan-Iblis, because they were not real Muslims. He also opposed Christians, Jews, Sufis, and Muslims of other sects than his own (Iblis-Satanis)-chiefly Sho’is, who follow God.

    b) Ibn Taymiah expanded the list of those against whom jihad was valid to include not just non-Muslims, but heretics, apostates, and schematics.

In those categories he included Muslims who attempted to amend Islam prompted division by interpreting the Quran and Hadith in ways that departed from what the texts literally stated.

    c) But Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) himself and the early Muslims in general tended to accept that people who wanted to be Muslims were Muslims. With ll the would be Muslims accepted into the group, the group could sort out disagreements about what “Muslim” meant.

    d) Ibn Taymiah, however, insisted that there is one way to be a Muslim, and the main Muslim duty was to ascertain that one way and then follow it.

    e) Ibn Taymiah mythologized the perfection of life in that first community, refereeing to Mohammed’s companions as al-salaf-al-salihin,”the pious (or pristine) originals”. The versions of this his doctrines eventually reemerged in India and North Africa, as the movement called Salafism, which is with us to this day. The word comes up often about “Islamists”, or Iblis-Satan following Wahhabies and their clones. It started here, in the shadow of the Mongol holocaust, and the Satan-Iblis, made good use of it.

    f) Ibn Taymiah, and his Followers, Abdul Wahhab, of Iblis-Satanic fame, claimed that showing reverence for human beings, even great ones, went against the precepts of the Pious Originals.

    2. So, the Iblis following Abdul Wahhab took the Iblis instructions into his own hands. The Iblis Wahhabis innovated the Quran, and ibteiduced tgeir own Satan-Iblis Theology.

    Q1. Amarasiri’s question was:

“What did Shaik Muhammad Abdul Wahab teach the Meccan and Medina Quran’s did NOT teach? Call other Muslims Non-Muslims and Kill them, based on instructions from Iblis, Satan.
Examples are killing of Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, Ahmedia Muslims, Christian, Jews and other people.” What is your specific answer?

Q2. How did Muslims manage to practice Islam for 1,200 years before Abdul Wahhab appearedans preached?

Q3. Why did Abdul Wahhab stone a women to death, when in the Holy Quran, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala- Glorified and Exalted is He), specifically said, 100 lashes?

Is it because the Iblis, Satan wanted it that way, to go against Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala- Glorified and Exalted is He) instructions, as he did oin Heaven, with Adam?

Q4. What did Abdul Wahhab say about the Quran. Was the Quran Created or Uncreated,?

Was the Iblis-Satan Follower, Abdul Wahhab, the deceiver, Confused?

Q5. Wahhabi sack of Karbala Why?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabi_sack_of_Karbala

The Wahhabi sack of Karbala occurred in 21st of April 1802 (1216 Hijri), under the rule of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad the second ruler of the First Saudi State, killing above 5000 of the inhabitants and plundered the tomb of Husayn ibn Ali (grandson of Muhammad and son of Ali bin Abu Talib (the cousin and son-in-law of Muhammad)) which was destroyed.

According to a Wahhabi chronicler `Uthman b. `Abdullah b. Bishr: “The Muslims” — as the Wahhabis referred to themselves, not feeling the need to distinguish themselves from other Muslims, since they did not believe them to be Muslims —

scaled the walls, entered the city … and killed the majority of its people in the markets and in their homes. [They] destroyed the dome placed over the grave of al-Husayn [and took] whatever they found inside the dome and its surroundings … the grille surrounding the tomb which was encrusted with emeralds, rubies, and other jewels … different types of property, weapons, clothing, carpets, gold, silver, precious copies of the Qur’an.

    6. Hadith of Najd. Abdul Wahhab Came from Najd.

7th Century Map of Arabia, given below.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=Hadith+of+Najd&espv=2&biw=1611&bih=907&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjLgoi1k-PKAhVB6CYKHdPOBvYQsAQIMg#imgrc=8Fd2AzWfxd93FM%3A

    You will see that.

    1. Medina was in HIJAZ, in Green, where the Holy City of Medina is located.

    2. Directly to the East is NAJD, in Red (Danger). Both Diriyah, and Riyadh are directly East of Medina. Read on the Rest of the Article.Very Revealing.

What a load of gibberish. When all the mayhem happened in the country for a few years with the BBS and other thugs roaming around with impunity the entire Muslim community across the country practiced the most amazing amount of self restraint and showed the true meaning of tolerance and patience.

Just because a few amongst the community aim to be deeply religious does not mean they want to overthrow the government and explode bombs in every corner. As with any community, there are groups, sects, factions with different interpretations, different levels of practice and different family based cultures.

We should just celebrate this diversity within, respect each other and not try and impose our own views of so called ‘freedom’! Why do some Sri Lankan businessmen wear suits? It is because of their exposure to western communities, western business standards and the global influence of western society. Some Muslim women wear the abaya because of their exposure to the GCC and certain Arab cultures. The abaya and Niqab (face veil) are cultural and not religious.

Now like any good and peaceful country, let’s not create issues out non issues. Let’s not tell others how to lead their lives and dress up their females. Let’s be tolerant and respectful.

    Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi

“The Defence Secretary in a communique earlier this year said that 36 Muslims have left the shores to fight for ISIS a terror group calling for a global re-unification of Muslims.”

“Many Muslims in Sri Lanka who defend the extremist ideologies invoked by Saudi, are in complete denial of the causal link between the ” face covering” ideology and the men who left to fight for the ISIS.”

36 Iblis Following Wahhabi Clones, who will end up in Hell Fire along with Iblis-Satan.

Stupidity is a Virtue for many Muslims who follow Iblis-Wahhabi and their clones.

Muslims Need the Age of Reason and Age of Enlightenment, Not the Age of Wahhabi Stupidity.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_(Islam)

Iblis, Satan was proud and considered himself superior to Adam, since Adam was made from clay and Iblis from smokeless fire. For this act of disobedience, God cursed him to Jahannam (Hell/Purgatory) for eternity, but gave him respite until the Day of Judgment, after Iblis requested it.

Iblis obtained permission from God and vowed that he would use this time to lead all men and women astray to Hell. In this way, he would prove humanity’s inferiority, and justify his act of defiance.

They have found 36 Sri Lankan Idiots so far, who believe Stupidity is a Virtue.

For refusing to abide by the will of God, Iblis was cast out of Heaven, and thereafter he was called “Shaytan” (Satan).

He said: “Give me respite till the day they are raised up.”

(Allah) said: “Be thou among those who have respite.”
He said: “Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:
“Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies).”

(Allah) said: “Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.

    — Quran sura 7 (Al-Aʻraf), ayah 14-18
Although God grants the request, he also warns Satan that he would have no authority over his ‘ibād or “servants”.

” All of them and their extended families lived under strict Islamic rule. Some dont have chairs in the house, not because of poverty, but because apparently there were no chairs during the time of the Prophet. Almost all the women and their extended families wore a Burqa or a black garb” an officer said.”

However, these Satan Following Wahhabis use airplanes, computers, cars, and electricity, that were all products of the West after the Age of Reason and Enlightenment.

    Why?

Because the Muslims became idiots after they let the Ulama take over and elevate Revelation above Reason.

Now these “Muslims” called Iblisis are believing that Stupidity is a Virtue.

It is so easy to brainwash idiots. Ask Any Ulama.

Take this into your stupid head In Islam there is No culture Islam itself is the culture.

Shalwar and Saree are the invasion into Islamic culture in Sri Lanka not the other way around.

If you have a problem with that go kill yourself. Thank you

Fazal, can you tell me is an Islamically appropriate dress? Please don’t quote the hadith, I don’t believe in that. From the perspective of the Quran itself (which I believe 100%), can you tell me what is appropriate dress?

Also, don’t talk about the Niqab or Burqah, I’m sure anybody who is able to think critically can figure out that those forms of dress were appropriate for the desert sand storms.

If Niqab and Burqah are appropriate dresses then a male should also wear a dish-dash with a turban, all the time and the trouser should be banned for men.

Hmm, that’s weird, I don’t see the Quran mentioning saree and shalwar in those two verses. Did you decide for yourself that the word “bikhumurihinna” refers to the saree and shalwar?

Also, have you noticed how the different translations (e.g.: Yusuf Ali and Shakir) gives different meanings for these words? That’s because it’s an interpretation you’re reading. You should learn the Arabic for yourself.

Anyway, what you have quoted in no way talks about the Niqab or Burqa. You’re simply finding what you are looking for instead of seeing what’s there.

            • 2

To reiterate my last comment, those verses are simply talking about modesty but it doesn’t recommend a Burqa or Niqab. This is because, the Quran, in all it’s wisdom, is aware that through history and culture, there are different definitions for modesty.

Dress code can be anything as long as women cover their body as prescribed by the Quran

            • 1
              0

              Fazal

Dress code can be anything as long as women cover their BOSOM,Upper Body, Breasts, as prescribed by the Qur’anic verse (24:31) instructed them to pull their ‘khimar’ from their back onto their exposed bosoms.

Why do the Iblis -Satan Following Wahhabies and their clones, treat stupidity as a virtue?

The scholars who read ‘The Message of the Qur’an’ ( published by Dar al-Andalus Ltd, 3 Library Ramp, Gibraltar, 1980) wrote, “Muhammad Asad’s translation and commentary is widely considered the best in the English language, renowned for its intellectual insight and frequent reference to classical commentaries such as Zamakshari. Asad’s interpretation to be the most bona-fide and coherent, it is scrupulously referenced so he does not give his opinion rather quotes some of the greatest scholars after the manifestation of the Qur’an such as Zamakshari, Ibn Kathir as well as Qurtubi to name a few.”

Some Muslim scholars are under the impression that the Arab women used to roam around with their head and bosoms totally uncovered; and the Qur’anic verse (24:31) instructed them to pull their ‘khimar’ from their back onto their exposed bosoms. This assumption is correct as it is based on historical facts.

            I am Shaikh Funlover.

You have it on my authority that Islam allows, no, no, orders, females to go out in public subject only to their covering their vaginas. They do not need to cover anything else.

Please make sure mothers sisters aunties even grandmothers in your family are not allowed to cover any other part of their anatomy.

Quran, wants the Bosom to be covered as well, Sura 24:31, because the “Muslims” did not cover their Bosoms, like in Sri Lanka and Bali.

They were Already covering their vaginas at that time.

“Researches believe that moderate Muslims fear to take any stand against the rise in fundamentalism which draws parallels with fascist ideologies.”

“” These people are violent and they will quote the Quran as and when they could. Traditional peace loving Muslims are in fear to take this on because the backlash can be crazy. They just dont want to argue on the Quran, but the fact is that even the ISIS quotes the Quran. So who is to justify any nonsense that they do by quoting the Quran or the Bible or any other text? how can you.” Ameer asked.”

They need to Consult, Izeth Hussein, the Al Azhar Clerics, Amarasiri, Sinhala_Man, Edwin Rodrigo and others to get alternate viewpoints.

Question. Are the Wahhabies and their Clones followers of Iblis-Satan based on their actions?

RE: The Curse of Iblis-Wahhabies in the Land of Native Veddah Aethho.

“Many social media activist also pointed out the lack of Muslim youth voices in quelling the extremism coming from among the Muslims.”

Are the Muslims stupider than the Sinhala?

“She blamed the lack of education among the Lankan Muslims.”

“” Even among the educated they lack any knowlegde of religion except the dictas of the Quran. Islam is much more than that, and anyone reading a religion will know the literature, culture, how rules were imposed etc. None of these people know this. The kids in Madrasas are only thought to read the Quran. Not a word of the culture, the reasonings for rules, other religions, philosophy is taught. This ignorance is not only prevalent in rural areas but even many Colombo Muslims have no clue about anything else except rules” Dahanayake said.”

Do the Muslims believe that Stupidity is a Virtue?

May be, Amarasiri and others need to give some lessons, purely for Altruistic reasons, to reduced stupidity among the Muslims.

Can these “Muslims” read and comprehend? Do the Wahhabies and their clones know that?

    Dear CT.

Please remove this video in this article its hilarious, and you are making a fool out of yourself.

I agree with you Fazal. We Muslims can sort out our issues amongst ourselves. Let the people themselves decide on how they wished to practice their religion. Ultimately only the truth will prevail, whist falsehood and fake behavior will have no place in the community. By CT imposing its views on us Muslims through such video, it is only taking sides and that is not a healthy journalism. What about the views of the otherside, which constitutes a major chunk of the Sri Lankan Muslim population? What happens to those who think, act and believe that wearing Abaya, Jilbab, Niqab is what God intended for them as their dress code. What happens to their views and rights to dress as they please and deem fit. What this speaker is talking is about ONE disgruntled parent pulling out her child from Ilma, not 2, not 5, not 10. Surely that margin of failure in judgement is acceptable, mspecially when the school has been in operation for more than 10 years and churning out citizens who are role models to society. Some of those past students have now grown up to become parents with sound Islamic religious background, for which they bear no regrets. Get some of their views too, to make it a fair call in passing judgement on Muslims children educated at Ilma.

I am surprised to the tilt that the Colombo Telegraph has taken this fool Ahamed Inthikab Nakshabandi seriously. He has taken all for a ride. extremely worrying trend….section of the Muslim community is openly supporting Wahabism in the country and others are silently watching the developments ..this is a similar trend to what came up in north and east two decades ago. Muslim community must understand that for what they do now the pay back will come to their grand children and the generations afterwards. So rise up now against wahabism before it is too late.

firstly, I don’t see any logic in this article. I totally agree that there should be a standard in international schools in Sri Lanka and it has to be brought under one umbrella preferably monitored by Ministry of Education.

Regardless of ethnicity and religion, as Sri Lankans every child should be educated about values of Sri Lanka, love for mother country and respecting all the people etc. School should not only be educating children for exam purpose, but it is equally important to educate good attitude thereby producing law abiding citizens. I always like the multi cultural schools rather than having schools only for certain communities, because end of the day we are going to live in a multi cultural environment, thereby our children should be educated to respect the fellow Sri Lankans regardless of ethnicity.

I presume majority of Sri Lankan Muslims understand that ISIS is no doubt a terrorist organization, hence if any one joining ISIS should be considered a terrorist. It is high time that Muslims should be educated about this and Government should strictly monitor these people, because it will have a bad impact on majority of law abiding Muslims in Sri Lanka.

Last but not the least, about the video clip uploaded in this article, is a crap that would mislead people. I have a question, if this person is honest. I don’t know this person has a personal issue with Ilma International. He is talking about ahulul bayt family and their fore fathers came from Yemen which is ridiculous. I have a doubt whether the person who is talking in this video clip, trying to spread hatred and terrorism. My fore fathers are from Sri Lanka.., so I have Sri Lankan blood.

      Yes.

Unfortunately the Satan, Iblis Following Wahhabies and their Clones, Salafies, Towhid, Najadis, ISIS, ISIL, Taliban, Booko Haram, Deobandi and others think otherwise.

In Fact, the Iblis Following Abdul Wahhab, sentenced a women to stoning when in the Holy Quran, Allah Swt Said: 100 Lashes.

Abdul Wahab is actually Abdul Iblis, the Servant of Iblis, Satan, Devil.

The Wahhabis also went to Karabala and killed 5,000 Muslims, based on Instructions from Iblis, Satan.

It is unbelievable that CT should publish in their own name an Article which is mischievous, untruthful, unsubstantiated, misleading. The two embedded videos are clear examples of CT’s mischief making. In the second video, that monkey with no grey matter but only a comical head cover and an unkempt beard speaking at a school gathering did not deserve any publicity in CT, a so-called serious publication. The UK video was all about decent law abiding sincere Muslims demanding from pig headed agents of Satan to go back to where they came from. But the perception purveyed by CT was the opposite. Horror of horrors: Even Izzeth Hussain has been dragged in because he has said date trees were being grown in Kattankudy ostensibly in support of fundamentalism. How more ridiculous can CT get?

    Shame on CT.

    What a bunch of rubbish!

My mother’s and earlier generations (she was born in 1915 and died in 2002) wore thick (velvety) clothing (thuppatti – complete with face covering), and secluded themselves from menfolk in full conformance with purdah. It’s only when Muslims got westernized that they gave up these traditions. When they had to travel out of their homes, they typically went about in carriages with windows fully curtained and even a curtain between the driver’s compartment and the passengers.

In the 1950s and 1960s, even my sisters went to school (Bishops College) accompanied by an ayah, and in a car curtained in all passenger windows and between the passengers and the driver.Several years ago, I read a Ceylon Observer article about the early history of Galle Face, and there was an illustration of one such carriage. In those days only those elites who hobnobbed with the British sahibs had reduced compliance with Islamic norms worldwide.

This is the typical response I hear from my relatives as well “Our forefathers did it, so we do it”. Why do you think our Lord gave us a brain and asks us to understand and contemplate the verses? It’s your duty to search for the truth – not just accept what you think may be the truth because your grandfather says so. You can’t justify your beliefs based on your forefathers. Where in the Quran does it say you are required to cover your face? It says men and women should dress modestly and cover their “awrah”. Look up the definition of “awrah”. Oh, that’s right, there’s no solid definition! It can mean a number of things depending on who you ask. Yet, you treat an interpretation that suits your view of control over women as the word of God and enforce it upon them. That is a crime.
Please also study the history of the Shariah and how it came about as well as hadith and Isnad. It will hopefully put things in perspective and change your vies.

I’m a practicing Muslim male, by the way.
