Ilma International, a leading Muslim private girls school in Colombo Sri Lanka, has been preaching a fundamentalist Islamic ideology to its children, the Colombo Telegraph learns.
The school, housed at the heart of Colombo has for decades provided Islamic education to Muslim girls.
However, deviating from traditional Sri Lankan and South East Asian Muslims, the school together with many other such Muslim schools spread around the country have deviated to Salafist- Wahabist teachings over the past decade, causing concern among Muslims, according to parents who spoke to Colombo Telegraph.
The rise of extremist movements in Sri Lanka has been systematic with the earliest reports coming from the late 90’s.
However the rise has been exponential in the past 7 years, according sociologists.
The ‘black face veil or the Burqa is seen as a symbol of this rising radicalism together with the recent revelation by Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi.
The Defence Secretary in a communique earlier this year said that 36 Muslims have left the shores to fight for ISIS a terror group calling for a global re-unification of Muslims.
” This sort of this happening from Sri Lanka is just mind blowing. The Muslims here lived in peace and freedom and have never ever been accused of moving away from the local culture or associating themselves with global terror,” Mohomed Ameer told Colombo Telegraph.
Many Muslims in Sri Lanka who defend the extremist ideologies invoked by Saudi, are in complete denial of the causal link between the ” face covering” ideology and the men who left to fight for the ISIS.
*Video via Channel 4 News
In this VIDEO fundamentalist Muslims in the United Kingdom while using verses to propagate fascism also deny that there is a link between their ideology and terrorism. When one Muslim confronts a radical and says ” you are recruiting for ISIS”, the radical looks at the Channel 4 crew and asks ” have you ever seen me do that?”, much akin to Lankan Muslims in complete denial of the causal link.
According to Sri Lankan military sources all 36 men and their extended families adhere to the strict and fundamentalist interpretation of the Quran.
“All of them and their extended families lived under strict Islamic rule. Some dont have chairs in the house, not because of poverty, but because apparently there were no chairs during the time of the Prophet. Almost all the women and their extended families wore a Burqa or a black garb” an officer said.
The rise in the Burqa, which was not prevalent in the country over a decade ago is also a significant factor in understanding the nature of the fundamentalist.
“Lankan Muslim women always wore the saree or the Shalwar Kameez for centuries. I dont think anyone in our generation or the previous generation remember seeing women in black garbs in Sri Lanka. This is something alien and was only seen in Saudi” a sociologist told the Colombo Telegraph.
According to many academics the new wave of Islam is an attempt to resist the ‘perceived western domination’ .
” The fact that the Muslim empires suffered defeat, economic, political and military defeat at the hands of western forces is one reason which fuelled this in the early 1900. The ideology was to completely negate themselves or resist any western influence and go back to the ages of Muslim domination which radical Islam believes was best. Its a paradox of sorts. They want a future that lives in the past, defying any sane logic or rationale” the Colombo Telegraph was told on condition of anonymity.
Earlier last year a Muslim poet and activist Sharmila Seyyid was forced to flee the country after being ” hounded by Mullahs”. The poet who is a mother of one and wrote her poetry in Tamil had been threatned repeteatedly by fundamentalist elements in her hometown in Batticaloa.
” This has never been the case and its alarming that the authorities didnt even pay due regard to this. Muslims of Sri Lanka have been a very vibrant part of the Lankan literature and culture. Never were their people imposing their beliefs systems on other Muslims. Those days a mosque festival used to be where the Sinhalese Tamil and Muslim children came to play and enjoy while the elders were reciting in the mosque. It was actually a feast with lights and decorations but today how many do we see?’ MAM Ismail a resident of Kandy told the Colombo Telegraph.
The city of Kattankudy, a city in the East of Sri Lanka is seen also as a symbol of a complete fundamentalist turn. Columnist Izeth Hussain writing to the Colombo Telegraph last year provided in detail accounts of date trees being planted in the area and the extent of the fundamentalism.
Many other ” Muslim” schools which come under the supervision of the education ministry are also propagating fundamentalist and segregationist ideals according sources.
” The school uniform of a Muslim girl was always a shawl around the bosom and long trousers. How many Muslims do you see dressed like that now?. How many Muslim students do you dressed in fully white face veils? This is not fear mongering but its the truth. Muslim leaders have kept their mouths shut about this because they fear backlash or they don’t want to ruffle any feathers given the nonsense that racist groups like the Bodu Bala Sena and others are promoting” a parent told Colombo Telegraph on the condition of anonymity.
According to many, Muslim students either wear the black face veil or the white face veil depending on the criteria set by the school, completely in ignorance of the segregation it causes.
Researches believe that moderate Muslims fear to take any stand against the rise in fundamentalism which draws parallels with fascist ideologies.
” These people are violent and they will quote the Quran as and when they could. Traditional peace loving Muslims are in fear to take this on because the backlash can be crazy. They just dont want to argue on the Quran, but the fact is that even the ISIS quotes the Quran. So who is to justify any nonsense that they do by quoting the Quran or the Bible or any other text? how can you.” Ameer asked.
The Colombo Telegraph learns that despite attention being drawn to these reports, Muslim ministers have shied away from addressing due to fear of backlash.
The rise in Sinhala racism also has led to Muslim leaders shying away from addressing the issue due to fear of “giving in”.
” The fact is there is a problem. This problem must be addressed. The Bodu Bala Sena should not be the reason it must be addressed but for the longevity and freedom of all Muslims. Because if it is not addressed, Sinhala racism against Muslims is only going to rise”, Ameer said.
Many social media activist also pointed out the lack of Muslim youth voices in quelling the extremism coming from among the Muslims.
” If you take Sinhala racism, the opposition comes from the Sinhalese itself. Even if its Tamil seperatism on social media its the Tamil community who first raise the flag and then joined by either racist or moderate Sinhalese. But what is alarming is the silence of Muslims. Muslims just do not ever speak against this and its on one hand sad and on the other very alarming”, Channa Abeetha Dahanayanke a researcher on anthropology and social media trends told the Colombo Telegraph.
She blamed the lack of education among the Lankan Muslims.
” Even among the educated they lack any knowlegde of religion except the dictas of the Quran. Islam is much more than that, and anyone reading a religion will know the literature, culture, how rules were imposed etc. None of these people know this. The kids in Madrasas are only thought to read the Quran. Not a word of the culture, the reasonings for rules, other religions, philosophy is taught. This ignorance is not only prevalent in rural areas but even many Colombo Muslims have no clue about anything else except rules” Dahanayake said.
Following is a meeting in which a letter of one parent sent to Ilma International against the fundamentalist practices promoted in the school is being read out.

Does it mean that there will be NO right to choose ones religion and how to dress? isn’t it a basic HUMAN right to choose what to wear and what not to wear…? why ask people who cover themselves to remove which has not encouraged a SINGLE rape and why hasn’t ANYONE called to ban skimpy and revealing clothes which has led to quite a lot of rape? why why? coz men who think with the WRONG HEADS have a say in what others wear? excuse me…
/
Fahim Uvais / February 14, 2016
I agree with Edward that everyone should have the right to choose what they want, but that right should not trespass on the rights of others. I feel my community’s insistance on their right to cover the face is wrong. People dont know what is inside the black tent and as far as the Islam I know, there is no need for muslim women to cover their face. They do not do it during Haj pilgrimage. In fact the Saudi religious police will cane you and force you to remove the head cover if you try. So, why is it made compulsory. This has been introduced by one brand of Islam. Now, Islamic groups have started fighting each other openly and this will be exploited by Buddhist extremists.
In the early 70’s, especially during the JVP insurrection in 1971, the police went around with razor blades and slit the mini skirts of women who wore short skirts. No body talked about fundamentalism at that time. Most people agreed that there was a need for modesty. Today, the Muslim Abaya has come under attack as something which is too modest. While I am totally opposed to the face cover, I insist that anyone who wants to dress modestly should have that right. Where are all our women’s liberation groups who scream at everything? Why are they not defending the right of muslim women to wear what they want. If women wants to walk nude with paint on them, as we see so many times in the west, our women’s rights activist will rush to Lipton’s circus to defend that right. Why are they not defending the right of Muslim women to dress modestly???????

“Why are they not defending the right of Muslim women to dress modestly???????”
They will if they really see rationality behind face mask and they are not prepared to defend men’s diktat. Its men’s rule that is unreasonable, ugly, .. and should be challenged at any cost.
Men decide what is good for women and imposed it with all kinds of rules, origin is traced to god, emotionally black mailed and forcefully imposed, from life and death to whom they marry, live and bear children with, kept them in cages at home, as if the men are given sole guardianship of female private parts.
If the men worry about women being raped the only solution is that all men should be permanently fitted with chastity belt and their ugly faces covered with mask. Or the scientist may have to find ways and means of detaching the male private part whenever they leave home. Police should be given powers to stop, strip and search men to see whether they comply with law of detachable organ.
Since men (the hypocrites) impose all kind of conservative norms, we say no to burqa.
We say no to Burqa.
We say no to Burqa.
We say no to Burqa.
“police went around with razor blades and slit the mini skirts of women who wore short skirts.”
The policemen probably wanted to see more of what was under the miniskirts.

“why ask people who cover themselves to remove which has not encouraged a SINGLE rape and why hasn’t ANYONE called to ban skimpy and revealing clothes which has led to quite a lot of rape?”
Seriously? Do you know how many rapes happen in Middle Eastern countries that don’t get reported in their media? I have cousins in Saudi who will not step into a cab unless their husband steps into it first because, in some instances, if the female gets in first, the cab driver will take off before the male gets in and then the female gets raped.
Likewise, my cousin will not open the door to anyone who knocks on her door if her husband isn’t at home because there have been cases where men get in and have raped.
Do your research man and don’t always believe what gets reported in the media, they will take you for a good ride.

The first impression a person in a Burqa makes is a stamping in the on-looker’s mind that she is a Muslim.
In a country that is predominantly non-muslim (and PLEASE NOTE I am NOT a racist), it creates an immediate anger in the viewer or on-looker that there is someone unwilling to expose her face to the public and prefers to hide herself behind a black cloth instead.
During our youth there were hundreds and thousands of muslim ladies who never felt the need to wear the Burqa. Consequently, one could never tell they were Muslims. They were instead a [part of the mixture that was sri Lankan, consisting of moors, malays, muslims, burghers, sinhalese and tamils and not necessarily in that order.
It NEVER occurred to us to think of the muslim ladies of yore in terms of their race since they didn’t stamp the fact on their forehead.
Now they do, and that is why it is objectionable and even irritating.
If we are to rid this country of this curse of racism as practiced here, all parties will have to “give” and while completely denigrating the violent antics of thugs in saffron robes (please note I am a Buddhist), I would suggest that genuine irritants such as the burqa are seen off.
I would not be surprised if I received a barrage of negatives in response to this post, but the fact remains we have a racist problem here, and one sure way to diffuse it would be to send out a clarion call for ALL to “give” a little, towards the total elimination of the curse of racism from our land.
Branding oneself as belonging to a particular community has no place in a pluralist, cosmopolitan society we should aim towards.

All of you Muslims of Sri Lanka get a few things straight , one thing ,if you are hearts are true to Allah swt, then make up a group ,go first to the houses of the families of the members who are ISIL or who have traveled to join the group , I can assure you , if it is true ,then remember this the only reason they would have gone and joined is not because of Islam ,or for that matter not even for the influence of any ideology, it is because the majority of the Muslims in Sri Lanka are such freaking hypocrites who have failed the community.
The majority of the Sri Lankan Muslims will brag and talk somuch of the traditions, simplicity of life style of The Holy Prophet (Pbuh) and the way he cared for the Community’s well being , but when it comes to the community it is zero , they will show off in their attire as Muslims (that too expensive clothing of abayas and head scarfs) , they will each argue like idiots the exact length of the beard prescribed, they will brag about how the Prophet had being in hunger for days , how he could not even have enough room to make salat in his own home ,how his wife needs to take her legs off each time he has to make his prostration , but for Most Sri Lankan Muslims form all sects, if a house of 5 million would suffice the need and requirement ,it wont satisfy his nafs , he will need a house of at-least a hundred or two hundred laks , he will not think ,oh why should not I buy a house for a few laks lesser and use the the remaining sum to help the homeless Muslims , same with a vehicle , same with functions , they are such show off which is one of the causes they are frequently accused of drug peddling , the truth is most of the time ,it is on large bank mortgages these goons show off from .
Some will spends millions every-year going on Haj ,when Haj is prescribed only once in your life time ,they will spend that on the needy , To do everything to show off ,, they will freely backbite, slander ,mock , spread scandals and sit and mock their own kind with others, but never will they ever want to see the less fortunate Muslims being uplifted ,are you trying to fool Allah swt? you fools it you who are fools not him.
And those of you who think by befriending and licking the backsides of the opposite camp , even if you drink , even eat the flesh of the swine as long as you identify yourselves as Muslims, remember the hate towards you will be double , outwardly they will seem your best friend ,but deep inside they will suspect you ten times more , no matter what as long as you do not care for the Community and think can fool the world with your fake outward appearances to cover your inner hypocrisy ,Allah swt’s curse will be upon you.
If There are extremist the cause is the rich and hypocritical Muslims of Sri Lanka, as long as you want to keep the wealth among yourselves and let the larger segment of the Community go from poor to beggars , yes there will be , greater men and women of social ill rising among the Muslim community .
You are a bunch of assholes .. who have randomly commented here.

Muslim – A Muslim with Common sense,
1. “would have gone and joined is not because of Islam ,or for that matter not even for the influence of any ideology, it is because the majority of the Muslims in Sri Lanka are such freaking hypocrites who have failed the community.”
They are the stupidest Muslims in the Community. Is there an Intelligence Test to be a Muslim?
2. “they will show off in their attire as Muslims (that too expensive clothing of abayas and head scarfs) , they will each argue like idiots the exact length of the beard prescribed, they will brag about how the Prophet had being in hunger for days ,”
Do they believe that Stupidity is a Virtue?
3. “Some will spends millions every-year going on Haj ,when Haj is prescribed only once in your life time ,they will spend that on the needy , “
Haj is really, Idol, Pagan Worship of the Arabs, that was given as a concession to the Querishi Arabs so that they will not lose the commerce.
The Idiols are now replaced with a stone, and they go around 7 times,m as the Pagan Arabs did.
Idol worshipers want Idols, So for the Satan, Iblis, 3 pillars were made, and instead of worshiping the Satan, they will curse him, and throw stones at the Pillars of Satan.
A Strange idol Worship. a reverse idol worship.
4. “You are a bunch of assholes .. who have randomly commented here.”
The assholes you refer to believe that Stupidity is a Virtue, and their Wahhabi Ulama know that.

Hajj is not idol worshipping. Mislims go on hajj to overcome the superficial differences the ego uses to identify and separate with. To achieve unity in soul and spirit, unity of heart, and to return to a purified state of oneness, reflecting the holy spirit, nature and presence of God in creation.

These are all Pagan Traditions of Pre-Islamic Arabia, just like Christmas was the Winter solstice tradition.
Haj is a substitution to the Pagan Tradition for Political and Economic reasons.
Al-lāt
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-l%C4%81t
Allāt or al-Lāt (Arabic: اللات pronounced [ælˈlæːt]) was a pre-Islamic Arabian goddess who was one of the three chief goddesses of Mecca along with Manāt and al-‘Uzzá.
The shrine and temple dedicated to al-Lat in Taif was demolished on the orders of Muhammad, during the Expedition of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb, in the same year as the Battle of Tabuk (which occurred in October 630 AD). The destruction of the idol was a demand by Muhammad before he would allow any reconciliation to take place with the tribes of Taif, who were under his siege. Whether al-Lat means “the Goddess” is highly disputed. Goddess in Arabic is ilāhah (إلاهة, meaning “goddess”), and with the article the goddess in Arabic would be al-ʾilāhah.
In the Qur’an, she is mentioned along with al-‘Uzzá and Manāt in Sura 53:19–23. The tribe of ʿād of Iram of the Pillars is also mentioned in Sura 89:5–8, and archaeological evidence from Iram shows copious inscriptions devoted to her for the protection of a tribe by that name.
Al-lāt is also explicitly attested from early Islamic records discussing the pre-Islamic period. According to the Book of Idols (Kitāb al-ʾAṣnām) by Hishām ibn al-Kalbi, the pre-Islamic Arabs believed Al-lāt resided in the Kaʿbah and also had an idol inside the sanctuary:
Her custody was in the hands of the Banū Attāb ibn Mālik of the Thaqīf, who had built an edifice over her. The Quraysh, as well as all the Arabs, venerated al-Lāt. They also used to name their children after her, calling them Zayd al-Lāt and Taym al-Lāt. […] Al-Lāt continued to be venerated until the Thaqīf embraced Islam, when Muhammad dispatched al-Mughīrah ibn-Shu‘bah, who destroyed her and burnt her temple to the ground.

“lma International, a leading Muslim private girls school in Colombo Sri Lanka, has been preaching a fundamentalist Islamic ideology to its children, the Colombo Telegraph learns.” This opening para is defaming Ilma International College a reputed Institution which renders yeomen service in the field of the education of Muslim girls in which there are limited opportunites in Sri Lanka. It appears that CT has once again erred on a subject relating to the Muslims of Sri Lanka. Myself, as a contributor and supporter of this site, has on earlier occasions pointed-out such errors made by the Editors of CT which they were good enough to make corrections. This article too seems to be a serious error. While the opening para. refers to Ilma the numerous remaining paras. refer to other world and Sri Lanka situations conerning Islamic fundamentalism and what not. It is clear that CT has obtained this article from a source that has some crudges with Ilma and wishes to tarnish its image. I would kindly request the Editors, having regard to the valuable contribution CT makes in the development of Sri Lanka as a democratic, united and a peaceful nation; not to promote views that have no basis and are provided by sources who do not disclose their identity. As such I request that this article be removed immediately so that CT does not earn further disrespeect of Muslims.

It is not a threat. I value the useful contribution of CT in various matters concerning Sri Lanka. I have requested its removal as it is from an undisclosed source and with full of contradictins and false information. I am quite liberal in my thinking and views be it religion, poltics or other and do not engage in biased or vulgur criticism of others’ thinking or views.

all of a sudden CT has become very unpopular among racist muslims because CT has published an article exposing the muslim extremism. These fools were jumping up and down in joy when CT published articles which are harmful to sinhalese buddhists, maha sanga and sinhalese buddhist culture. Some non buddhists even try to preach buddhism and culture.

islam/muslim fundamentalism has crept into every thing in the society not only Muslim International Schools. islam/muslim fundamentalism is in food in the form of halaal. islam/muslim fundamentalism is in clothing attire in the form of burqa,nikab..etc… islam/muslim fundamentalism is in religious places in the form of mushroomed screaming huts,
/
MOHAMED MARZOOK / February 13, 2016
What harm had Halaal food done to the Sri Lankan society? What are the ‘other things’ of the society that Islam/Muslim fundamentalism has crept into? Can you elaborate, please. Will not be able as no Muslim in Sri Lanka has caused damage to life, property or any other in the name of Islam. But it could be certainly said that the Buddhist-extremists like the BBS, Sinhala Ravaya, Sinha Le and similar groups have caused harm to Muslim lives and properties and dissension and divisions in the general Sri Lankan society. Muslim choice of Halaal food, dress of practices or whatever is to ensure their living according to what they believe in and to strengthen that belief. Not to harm others.

As Muslims,
We affirm and uphold the sanctity of all human life, the taking of which is among the gravest of all sins.
We affirm the right to freedom of thought, religion, conscience, and expression.
We affirm the right to security in one’s livelihood, profession, and residence.
We believe that God created us with all the diversity of race, religion, language, and belief to get to know one another, respect one another, and uphold our collective human dignity.
We believe that Islam is above all a religion of peace and mercy and that as Muslims we are obligated to model those traits in our lives and characters and to work for the good of our homeland and society, wherever that might be.

What a sad piece of poor journalism. I have no problems with CT expressing it’s fears about its fears, rightly or not. However adducing insufficient supportive evidence and making generalized statements not only weaken CT’s case but also suggests an ulterior motive. Let us examine the article in detail.
Who are these unnamed sociologists.
What are CT’s sources?
Was a census of the parents taken. Two parents against all parents?
“The ‘black face veil or the Burqa is seen as a symbol of this rising radicalism” TOGETHER with the recent revelation by Defence Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi.
These are two statements made to read as one. HONEST journalism??
Don’t the readers have a right to know this invisible sociologist??
Again who are these virtual academics?
CT has thus proved that it has blemished its record as an HONEST forum for exchange of ideas and beliefs. WHAT ABOUTS ITS COMMENTS POLICY. I think that has ended in the garbage bin

Actually, you do make sense here, because the evidence is scanty or not identified?
Why? The sources are apparently telling the Truth, but do not like being identified in the Community. This is the core of the Problem with Wahhabism, because the Wahhabies Threaten like the ISIS.

It is clear that CT has put both its feet in a s..t bucket this time.
CT is getting notoriously critical about Islam and Muslims, and this is becoming more apparent now more than before with their unfair reporting. Why in the world did they pick on Ilma Int’l to berate them when they are one of the best Muslim girl schools around, with brilliant minds to manage its affairs. What was said on stage by that moron in a funny looking clown hat does not portray the truth about this school and maybe one disgruntled parent does not imply that more parents would want to do the same. This is clearly a pre-planned attack on Muslims and on one of their best and thriving institutions with a 28 year history, done purely with mean intentions to bring the school into disrepute and scar their image in the eyes of the general public. But Allah is a greater planner and His plans will always succeed. All we need is to be sincere in our efforts and be strong in the face of adversity, and we will always come out on top – Insha Allah – God willing. Onward and Upward Ilma Int’l, we will always be with you to cheer you on.

Muslim Fundamentalism was brought to SinhaLE not by ISIS, not by Wahabis, Not even by any groups practising Islam in right or wrong way. Neither it was induced by BBS as it has only two years of history and infact created by the Brother Prince to counteract the Fundamentalism by spreading the SinhaLE fundamentalism. If you look at the question of if the Muslim sold the Port City and the SinhaLE sovereignty to China?; the answers is no; it is the Old King. Old King sent the women to middle east to beg covered their head with black, the sorrow of despair because it is on their head the grated beggar wound the almighty has vested to these people. So they thought hiding the head and begging is hiding the wound and begging. This is how the Old King conducted the war. The home dwelling SinhaLE thought that they are sending the women to Lah Lah. But it brought back Muslim rowdies, instead of SinhaLE rowdies. When Rizana was decapitated, the Surrendered Caliph of Bahrain was wagging his tail behind the Saudi Prince who visited the Wildlife Sanctuary and cheated the mother as the Saudi Prince is willing to pay for that. Comedy Thamai! to Whom Saudi paid money when every year it is qurbani-ing more than a 1000 she and he sheeps? Idiot! The Old King was the nastiest Hitler plus the greatest comedian like Nagesh too. The Sad part of it is, the Old King swore that he will use Tamils to destroy Tamils. This is how he converted Tamil into ISIS Muslims.

We Muslim parents who have our children studying at Ilma are least concerned about this one sided article. Ilma is the most reputable Muslim girls school in Sri Lanka and we are proud about that.
Islamic curriculum in Ilma is very well balanced and in line with our Islamic teaching. If one parent is unhappy about this curriculum then he/she is free to choose another school for his/her child.
If anyone has any ill-intention to brand the school as fundamentalist or any radical inclination it is a false propaganda and we parents will be standing very much behind the school against any unfair criticism.

“Islamic curriculum in Ilma is very well balanced and in line with our Islamic teaching. If one parent is unhappy about this curriculum then he/she is free to choose another school for his/her child.”
Is the School curriculum, teaching the Four main Islamic school, of thoughts only, and in addition teaching Wahhabism and Salafism?
Did the School brig Bilal Phillips, and other Wahhabi preachers to school?

Kuwaiti Columnist: State Schools In Arab Countries Should Abolish Religious Studies
Kuwaiti liberal and secular activist Dr. Ibtihal Al-Khatib, whose bold views have frequently drawn fire from both Sunnis and Shi’ites in the Arab world,[1] advocated, in a November 30, 2015 article, to abolishing religion studies in schools and to replace them with lessons on the history of religion or on ethics and human rights. Al-Khatib, a lecturer at Kuwait University and a columnist for the daily Al-Jarida, argued that the state has no right to impose the religion of a particular stream or sect on students from diverse backgrounds, and therefore proposed to confine religious studies to elective frameworks such as afternoon or weekend classes, so that parents who wish to can enroll their children in a religion class of their choosing. Al-Khatib also criticized the teaching methods prevalent in Arab and Muslim societies, which, she said, are based on rote learning, ambiguity and the reinforcement of taboos rather than on fostering creative thinking. She argued that this is the root of the problems in the Arab and Muslim world, in particular the internal schism, racism and extremism.
It should be noted that 10 days prior to the appearance of this article, Al-Khatib made similar comments on Dr. Sulaiman Al-Hattlan’s[2] show “Hadith Al-‘Arab” on Sky News Arabia, provoking many angry responses on social media.
Dr. Ibtihal Al-Khatib on “Hadith Al-‘Arab” (Image: Youtube.com/watch?v=F8sieJaxYQQ, November 26, 2015)
Below are translated excerpts from Al-Khatib’s column:[3]
Curriculum Reform Will Not Help; All Religious Material Should Be Abolished
“I believe that nearly all our problems derive from the study methods and the quality of teaching to which our young children are exposed. I’m aware that this statement [seems] very simplistic and superficial, but in most cases the simplest and clearest [observations] in our lives are the most accurate.
“Our children grow up without much focus on critical thinking, because our curricula are based on rote learning rather than persuasion. They grow up relying almost exclusively on quoting and copying… because creativity and diligence are not part of the material or study method. They grow up evading many questions, resorting to ambiguity and avoiding many scientific and philosophical subjects, because the curricula surrounds [the students] with thousands of red lines, hobbles them with thousands of prohibitions and chains them with thousands of taboos.
“Many writers, myself included, have advocated amending the curricula, but I am not convinced that this will be enough to generate sufficient change. I called for such reform out of a belief that it was the minimum that had to be done, and might perhaps save what could [still] be saved and minimize the expressions of racism and extremism… [But] in my opinion, the real truth is that no modification [of the curriculum] will eradicate sectarianism or heal the [social] schism – for as long as the official curriculum presents religious material [from the perspective] of a particular school or sect, the schism will remain, and the rift and disagreement will be carved in stone, with the government’s official blessing.”
We Must ‘See Ourselves As We Really Are, Or Else Perish While Playing The Role Of Victim To An Empty Theater’
“When I noted, in an interview with Dr. Sulaiman Al-Hattlan, that the real solution is to abolish all religious materials, of any kind, in state schools, I received a harsh but expected response, which derives from the victim mentality that Muslims employ against anybody who disputes their opinion or criticizes them. [They see] any criticism as a plot against Muslims, any raising of questions as a plan to destroy the religion, and any innovative suggestion as Westernization intended to destroy the foundations of faith. Why? Perhaps this is due to the harsh historical conditions and to the restrictions that currently prevail, or to the nature of the Arab-Islamic mentality, or to external political [influences], or to internal regional disputes. [And] perhaps all these factors together, or several of them, feed this perpetual sense of discrimination and prompt Arabs and Muslims to play this tedious role [of victim], [which they] embody so well that they [end up] believing in it wholeheartedly. However, the world, and we ourselves, have grown sick of this endless role [of victim], which no longer elicits any sympathy or tears. So either we [start] seeing ourselves as we really are, or perish while continuing to play the role of victim to a theater without an audience.
“Yes, the solution is to abolish religion classes in schools during the morning and replace them with lessons on the history of religions, so students come to know the world’s diverse faiths, or else with lessons on human rights and ethics. This, providing that the state allows religious schools to offer afternoon or weekend classes, like the Sunday schools [operated] by the church, for those wishing to teach their children religion according to their [particular] sect and faith. Everyone has the right to provide his children with a religious education in a state-run school, but the state has no right to impose on all its citizens and residents… a single religious path from the perspective of one sect and one stream. The state should insist on equality for all in all the services it provides.
“I do not see how this proposal could [possibly] be regarded as an anti-religious plot, but, knowing the self-pitying Arab Islamic mentality, we understand why there are people who think that if you say ‘good morning’ instead of ‘al-salaam alaikum’ you are a Westernized [Muslim] plotting anti-religious schemes. This is how we always are, deliberately miserable.”

“Read again what you wrote and you will realize again the sense in my argument!!”
Your argument is that insufficient data and support. Therefore, amarasiri gave you the benefit of the Doubt due to lack of data.
However, Amarasiri’s point was that due to the Nature of Wahhabism, a Satanic Ideology, and the way they act, kill etc., the sources do not like to be identified, but the circumstantial evidence shows that the allegations are likely true. See what happened to the women in Syria.
Can you or any Ulama answer Amarasiri’s 5 Questions? Prophet Mohamed’s Sunnah, PBUH, says he always answer questions. See Hadith of Najd.
Examples are Given Below.
“Shortly before she was killed by the IS (Islamic State), Ruqia Hassan, a young Syrian woman wrote the following lines on her facebook page. “The only thing the secular man remembers from the Qur’an is that the God is the most merciful, and everything comes from that… The only thing the extreme Islamists memorise is one verse – to be tough with infidels and merciful to believers – but to the extreme Islamists, everyone is an infidel, whether Muslim or not.”[iv] Ms. Hassan knew that difference first hand. She was one of a handful of residents in Raqqa who dared to criticise the monstrosities committed by the IS.”
Where is Najd – HORN of SATAN?

To all the doubters who still think Najd is in Iraq and not in Saudi Arabia.
You noticed in this video that I quoted from scholars, Muslim geographers such as ibn Kurdadhbah, ibn Hawqal and even ibn Taymiyyah to leave you with no doubt that Najd is an area in modern day Saudi Arabia. Here I will once again quote ibn Taymiyyah so your mind will be at rest on this issue.

This article seriously undermine the credibility of CT. The statements from so and so sociologists will be good for next fiction not the characteristics of an article which investigates a serious issue. How the decision of one parent (who wanted to withdraw his child) can be related to serious allegations of terrorism. What is the relationship with the first video and CTs allegations against the international schools. Thus, it look like CT’s malicious campaign to recruit students for other schools.

“Legal action is certainly on its way and CT can answer in Courts very soon.”
Hopefully it can be proven that:
1. The Wahhabies and their Clones are following Satan, and not Allah swt, and trying to Establish an Iblisic State, satanic State.
2. The Practice of Haj, is Pre-Islamic and Idol Worship
3. Throwing stones at the Three Pillars of the Satan, Iblis is Idol Worship-Hate
4. Sentencing of women by stoning to death is Iblisic and not Islamic,
5. Making the Women cover their whole body beyonf the bosom is not required by the Quran
6. There are a lot of Errors in the Hadith, and Hadith should not be relied upon.
