I took oaths a little while ago this morning undertaking to faithfully perform the functions of my office.
My office is a gift from my people. They have mandated me to perform my duties on a long term as well as a short term perspective. The former behoves us to confirm our individuality. To do so we have to learn lessons from our struggles of the past, our previous political perspectives and our past experiences and then forge ahead. It is the need of the hour that we remove the misunderstandings and doubts that have crept into the minds of various communities.
It is as a part of such an exercise that we decided that I take oaths before the President of this Country.We believe our decision would convey to our brethren our desire to settle our differences within a united Sri Lanka.
Our action today buttresses our close–up perspectives too, in that we expect to bring immediate relief to our war affected people. I hope the Sinhala people would endeavour to prod on their political representatives in every manner whatsoever to bring sunshine into the lives of our disturbed and affected Tamil speaking people.
I expect my Sinhala brothers and sisters to impress upon their political representatives that internal self determination does not divide the country but facilitate a journey on the path of unity. I sincerely ask the Sinhala people to realize that to the same extent the Sinhala people cherish and respect their language and culture so do the Tamil speaking people cherish and respect their own language and their traditions. There is no place for violence in this realization. None could force such realization. It is such sincere realization that would take us all on the path of peace and brotherhood. Therefore let my simple symbolic act today pave the way for the unity of the people of the two communities in our Island. May Divine blessings be with all of us!

We hope that the newly elected TNA members will work as a TEAM for the northern people’s development. TNA members need to make working for the people rather than fighting among themselves for positions and perks the PRIORITY to SERVE THE PEOPLE THEY CLAIM TO REPRESENT.
All the ENDLESS pathetic infighting and delay on appointing the ministers means that the real job is being DELAYED and it is people on the ground SUFFER. WIgneswaran knows the Rajapakse regime well and will handle them well without the interference of the Disapora which is part of the problem and NOT the solution. The TNA is a mess because it takes two steps forward and ten steps back each time it moves because of the hardline Tamil Diaapora.. This is the case with the Jews in Palestine as well. Diaspora is the most hardline with living far away.
The Tamil politicians should not behave like their Sinhala counterparts who are CORRUPT and only interested in bettering themselves their positions, power and perks! Let us wait and see!

CM had a choice of taking oaths in front of the military governor or the president despite all the possible war crimes he is accused of by the Tamils. I believe the TNA made the right decision as the Tamils campaign for the removal of both the military governors in the North and the East while the international community closely watches the situation in the NE because of the Tamil pressure. There is zero Muslim pressure on this subject, and that is another reason there is no real sympathy for the Muslims when they are attacked by the BBS from some Tamil sector.
The two military governors will be removed soon since they have outlived their non existent welcome from mostly all the Tamils including the Karuna-Pillaiyan, Douglas combo. There is both national and international pressure for this change.

Sri Lanka would remain Undivided for many years, but will never be United, unless there are radical changes from the Sinhalese, Buddhist, and the ruling GOSL. Again, the first process has to be there should be accountability, truth and justice without being in a state of denial of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The perpetrators should be brought to justice and punished in America and Sri Lanka, in their respective countries. (lol).
More importantly, there should be immediate sharing of the budget funds, as well as foreign aid, grants, and loans in a equitable manner including compensating for the 66 years of gross and willful neglect.
Ports (including fisheries harbors)and Airports (National and international) are good examples. The difference in the past 5 years alone would be around 10 Billion dollars. On every ministry subject it would grand differences except the MOD, where the roads and railways are mainly for the benefit of the military cleverly camouflaged as civilian development. That is another big Rajapakse lie.
Without funds from the treasury and powers from the Supreme Court the NPC would be just another glorified municipal council. The military, Police and UDA will have all the funds and power which are directly controlled by Gothabaya Rajapakse.
