Nonis Confirms Assault And Resignation

Confirming Colombo Telegraph’s expose of the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Chris Nonis being assaulted, he has finally confirmed that he was in fact assaulted and handed in his resignation as a result of the incident.

NonisNonis speaking to Newsfirst had confirmed claims circulating around his assault and resignation, and the program’s Twitter handle updated this status a short while ago:

News1st @newsfirst_en –

“Dr. Chris Nonis confirms to News 1st that he was assaulted and handed in his resignation.”

It was Colombo Telegraph that initially disclosed the attack on Nonis by the Monitoring MP for External Affairs Sajin Vass in the presence of External Affairs Ministry Secretary Kshenuka Senviratne in New York. Moreover, it was also revealed that the President following his return to Colombo from New York took immediate steps to impose a complete media blackout on the incident to prevent it from being reported in state or private media.

However, despite his attempts the story was eventually published in several local media including newspapers and websites but they have all withheld from naming the attacked as Sajin Vass.

Array yarr Dr No [Edited out].. oops I mean [Edited out] Nonis
It’s not enough to just confirm that you were subject to an utterly humiliating physical assault by that utterly despicable rascal who fondles and does other acts of love to the nether regions of the head honcho.

You need to seize the moment, rise to the occasion, pull up your socks and put your foot down with a firm hand. Then you need to tell the bully from Hambantot that you HAVE RESIGNED and are not going back to do his vile bidding.

After that you need to clear the air for the public and the British media and come clean with all the dirt you know about SVG, Honorable Sir Slipper Soup Vermin Silva, Reverend Kudda Duminda and the other rascals around the clan.

Expose, expose, expose, and to heck with Mackwoods or the white van.

Are you up to it mate?

There cannot be a simple reason for this assault. Nonis was boasting sometime ago that he even doesn’t care the Foreign Minister and he accepts orders only from the President. That sounds that the HC Nonis is in London only to represent the interest of the President but not the people and the country. HC position is not a ascribed status but an achieved (better to say a political appointment) status for his loyalty to the ruling family. We normally do not justify any physical assault on any human being but unless we come to know why he was assaulted we cannot go against the person who did it to him. It is the opinion of many SL expatriates that Dr. Nonis deserves this kind of treatment for his zero contribution to the country.

        Correction Needed, Chaturangi.

Mr Nonis …I am just an ordinary person who DOES NOT appreciate each and every step you had taken on behalf of MaRa and the Criminals, the lying you did in the name of Sri Lanka and the shame you have brought the country because of your lack of ethics ans shilling.

This case studied medicine and and went for the foreign messenger service. If it had head, could have invented something good for society and it could have made some money. If not, could have peacefully settled at a public hospital service and could have taken care of the family. Because the greed for the wine and women in the foreign ministry’s messenger service, went to the wrong place, called the enemy woman for dual and was beaten up by a rival womanizer. Now has earned a good qualification for Common Candidate for Single issue. Fonseka, Shirani, Mangala, Anoma, Chris Norris, …..couple of good common candidates for single issue are there, now. But for anything, the hero has to leave London and come to Lanka.

When he come to home, like a good doctor, first thing he has to find out a medicine for the Chris Norris symptom.(living foot licker life and lying, beating, killing in behalf of the Rowdy Royals. This is not much from Dumintha, Hakeem, Mervyn, Dayan, Azhar, Douglas, Tamara…… and others are doing). This is a serious disease and many Lankan are suffering by it. Anybody finding a good medicine for this will saves the Lanka.

Then, like an honest doctor, should pick up his shaving set and go for skin crafting surgery.

        Chaturangi,

Sadly, Dr Nonis was not successful in the job he trained for – all sorts of problems got in the way – and he thought that Diplomacy would be useful because he would get to mix with the suddhas he loves AND develop the family business. Bad move! Please do NOT feel sorry for this man. In Sri Lankan style he ‘asked and ate’. This was NOT the company he should have been seen dead in. He is lucky he only escaped with a thundering slap and a kick in the jack seeds. His best bet is to take up some good charitable work and repair his dignity. Our 2500-year-old civilisation will carry on without him.

As usual you ask a pertinent and valid question.

            What is this 2500-year-old civilisation?

The answer is as elusive as the moist-nosed Red Slender Loris that hopefully still habits the verdant jungles of our thrice-blessed home.

Our hapless Doctor relied on this oft used, little understood phrase, because he knew that foreigners asking awkward questions would be puzzled by their own lack of knowledge, and dazzled by his near-perfect Welsh accent. This way our Doctor looked good on television and impressed all and sundry from Kahatagasdigilya to Kaluvanchikudy.

As some say if Nonis was innocent, if Nonis is that professional/indispensable why doesn’t Mara take any actions against the Moran Sajin Vass?
For Mara that Porter is more important than backboneless Mudalali Nonis.

You made us very proud SriLankans, especially Sri Lankans living in UK (including me) you are a noble son of mother SriLanka, a very true leader who truly loves the country, we have been watching and reading everything you did past years specially the issues you handled about the conflict and how you defended (knowing how it’s difficult here in UK). You have been excellent!! Truly it is not the word to express it.
Today we are so much heartbroken to hear about your resignation, please stay there sir, you added an enormous value to our little island, the pearl of the Indian Ocean, no matter what happens or whatever the world say, we still firmly believe that it is the pearl of the Indian Ocean with honest leaders like you, so please stay there sir, we all Sri Lankans honour you. We all Sri Lankans respect you, we all Sri Lankans love to see you the way you were. You are a guardian of our mother nation.
      Please stay there sir!!!
May the blessings of noble triplegem be with you always!!!!

but now it can be dangerous as he has an enemy with mafia syndrome so like tea taster Harry Jayawardena they could try a fraud case (the Gibraltar case) and nationalise his once stolen company – sterling company macwoods- late 60’s.

Most of the Sri Lankans think and the media reports, Nonis is the best diplomat we ever had, he is educated, highly talented and so on. But the truth is Nonis is the worst HC we ever had in London. We would like to argue with anyone who wants to come up with fact to prove Nonis has done a yeoman service. Read the following
      1. Never replied to letters, telephone calls or Emails. There are plenty organisations, members of the community have left messages after messages but not even received an acknowledgement for last 3 years. He is stubborn and inefficient character. Just a TALK SHOP. NO ACTION.
      2. Nonis says that he has managed to lobby so many British MPs which is his prime duty. But by now we have lost all the labour MPs, remaining only couple of conservative MPs , but they are also not powerful. Last Wednesday all the other Torrie MPs joined tiger band wagan. So what has he done? He couldn’t convince a single British MP since Sep 2011. If he has done any we need proof. Not just words, I mean proof.
      3. Because of his negligence, ignorance and giving free hand to operate without any monitoring and countering pro LTTE activities become more powerful than never before. They managed to meet British PM, and now getting support from both leading political parties. Read what Foreign Sec Hugo Sware and his predecessor William Hague have told about SL. So Nonis is NO WHERE
      4. Treats staff as shit/ inhumanly. Sacked many talented career diplomats making false accusations. Not allow others to do any work. Staff does not say any word against this Hitler just to keep their jobs. He doesn’t like talented people prefer sleeping beauties , because then he can ignore all the diplomatic work and countering LTTE propaganda.
      5. Adviced staff not to invite anyone who has critisised him to the HC and those who have knowledge about British politics and Diaspora activities.
      6. He says that he has friend at the top yet couldn’t stop UN investigation. He says British PM, the Palace and UK MPs are under control. Then show us results. Nothing happening in favour of SL. LTTE is thriving. We all have seen how David Camoron’s bullying behaviou in SL during CHOGM.
      7. His driver (Dhanapala) not allows to use servant toilet at HC’s official residence even he is desperate and he uses an empty water bottle for urinate. Keep “choo bottle” in the car boot and dump in a bin later. Is this the way educated, talented diplomat behaves, treat his driver? Is this our culture, civilization? That’s why people call him “Bothal Choo Maha Komasaaris- Bothal Choo High Commissioner”
      8. Pretends he has consent from the President for all these dirty work and closely associate Presidents to control others and very good at deceiving the public from his nice words.
      9. Promote tea and his businesses. Less priority to diplomatic job. Control business deals previously carried out by Trade Division and hide trade deals. Give all the business to his associates breaking all the rules.Conflict of interests.
      10. Very difficult to meet, if you ask a question, you will be fired. He likes donkey monkeys those who stomach what he says. You will be very lucky if you get an appointment. But waiting time is 1.30-2 hrs. If nonis gives an appointment at 10pm you will be called in by 12.00 mid day. You have to wait outside going through his rubbish books. He wants to show that he is very difficult to meet, very busy person. He does this purposely enjoy watching you waiting outside from cctv screen fixed on his desk.
      11. Nonis tried to cover up his blunder during diamond jubilee. All the diplomats those who have a knowledge and common sense said not to organise any events outside jubilee programme, but Nonis went his own way and betrayed President by organising Commonwealth Business Forum event at Mansion house because he is a director there. Now commonwealth Business forum is gone bust. As a director he should have inside knowledge about performance of that organisation. Since then it took only 2 years CBF to bankrupt.
      12. Made two secretaries including highly talented Orissa De Silva to resign from the job by shouting at them in dirty, filthy words (Amu thiththa kunuharupa). So using filthy, dirty, rude words are not new to Nonis. He uses them all the time to treat his slaves (staff) at High Commission in London. Please refer to staff members (present and pass) if you have any access to them.
      13. Sri Lanka government pays £16,500 per month for Nonis house rent.
So I challenge this forum to come up with fact to counter these points I have raised. I have more information if you want to know. No need lip service, we need action. If Nonis is talented definitely I take my hat off for him for the service he does. But he is NOT. He is doing a grave damage to SL.
      14. Finally he deserve this kind of a treatment. There is a popular saying in Sinhala- “kottoruwa hema gahatama kota kota yanawa, kehel gahata kotapu daata hota patalenawa..”

So odd job let cute boy have it and it serves him right- it’s part of the culture rightly so??

Cuteboy,is worse than the kind of Dr Liam Fox because of his culture- a classic mafia-art syndrome and a dreamer passa gang member at that.
Biscuit Boofer, is a danger to any public service. Best would be for him to stick to his own ill-gotten business or get the works …

You need not to try hard to convince how bad this guy is, as a diplomat. We do know that, not just from the insider information, But by the outside results. Apparently, even you are a much better propagandist to the Royal Government than this doctor who’s prescription did not work on Cameron’s Jaffna visit. He should have accompanied Cameron to Jaffna. The coward was hiding as his failures going to be flashed everywhere.

Leaving that aside, I hear that the King has ordered for an inquiry in to the abuse took place on Shenuka. That is appropriate as Shenuka has made a formal complain of that abuse, but the accusation of beaten up of Chris Norris is yet to be made as a complain.

Beyond that, reading some of you accusations, like “7. That’s why people call him “Bothal Choo Maha Komasaaris- Bothal Choo High Commissioner” 8. Pretends he has consent from the President for all these dirty work and closely associate Presidents to control others and very good at deceiving the public from his nice words. 9. Promote tea and his businesses. Less priority to diplomatic job. ” , I am little bit confuse. All what you have listed here are appears to be in the government’s folder against this guy. Are you telling that what happened that night was a formal governmental action on the Chris Norris guy? Did the secret service MP, Sajin the Kudu Vase was trying to arrest Chris Norris and he resisted that?

One thing is sure. After the investigation of Shenuka’s complain, all this this guy earned in the foreign ministry’s messenger service will be in the hand of Shenuka and Kudu Vase.

Congratualations to Sandy for Truthful, Factual Account which can be freely verified. Never mind the pro-Chris comments of those who have regularly supped and dined at Sri Lanka poor tax payers account at the London Embassy: The regular cohorts of Nonis have much to regret his departure.

Yours is an Excellent Epilogue to Con-Doctor Chris Nonis who has to now return to the Backwoods of Mackwoods!

Any ever asked why this Chris came to the Throne of Sri Lanka High Commission? Some actual facts:
        (1) He simply did not make it as a successful medical consultant in UK.
Merely scanvenging his way at the lower rungs without FRCS qualification
        (2) Family proprietorship declining, Mackwoods needed high level push up from big influential contacts of other Embassies/Business.Being High Commissioner gave all necessary fuel with access to big power base contacts/deals. We understand all invitations to the Sri Lanka High Commission grabbed by this Nonis. No one allowed to display their talents. Everyone tightly controlled underfoot.
        (3) The perks/priviledges of holding highest diplomatic office in London is a far cry away from the tea estate comforts of Labukele
        (4) Above all this Megalomaniac is psychological case! Consider his unprecedented conduct- installing CCTV inside corridors, bugging phones of all Staff… systematically lopping of Heads of Foreign Ministry Career Diplomats, Creating Fear Psychosis amongst all other Staff – his conduct at all times unbecoming of a gentleman let alone a diplomut of the highest order!
        (5) So much power, privilege, prestige, opportunity to brand Himself Nonis not Sri Lanka. Just look at his web site. It is all about Nonis exhibitionism. Showing whom Nonis has met, done, wined, dined with. A High Commissioner who tried to Brand Himself in the Public Eye. Betrayed his Country.
        (6) Got Prince Charles to go to Nonis’s Tea Estate to get free advertising for Mackwood’s Tea.What about other Tea Brands in Sri Lanka?

Finally, Fellow Sri Lankans in UK – WE NEED A SRI LANKAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO REPRESENT SRI LANKA IN THE UK. LET US SPEAK ENGLISH OUR OWN WAY WITH OUR OWN ACCENT AS LONG AS IT IS UNDERSTOOD. WE DO NOT NEED FANCY DICTION,HOITY TOITY WESTERN VALUES,WAISTCOATS AND TOP HATS,
MADE IN ENGLAND PRODUCTS.PHOTOGRAPHY AND PUBLICITY OF EXHIBITIONISTS.

LET US PROJECT THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR COUNTRY NOT THE PERSON OF NONIS.
YOU CANNOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. WRAPPING OF NONIS GLITZY FOR SOME, BUT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING INSIDE.

After all the claptrap with CNN what has Nonis actually delivered Sri Lanka?:

(1)In spite of his self-stimulations, Channel 04 went ahead
(2)for the Global Tamil Movement – it was business as usual
(3)No headway with Conservative/Labour/Liberal opinion makers.
Cameron said it all on his visit.
        (4) No quiet, strategic diplomacy. no planned work.
        (5) General alienation of Muslim/Tamil/Sinhala diaspora
        (6) Mass alination all who work round him. No Team work.
        (7) Huge Expenditure for the Tax Payer of Sri Lanka. His rental alone is the highest ever recorded. Nightly Parties at the Embassy costs the earth. All for what? who are the contacts? Friends and Family!!

DJ and Tamara having worked as carrier diplomats – unfortutnatley spend the today only biting their nails and even of the others – since they have no other choice than doing so – but I thought these both could make the nation feed with the realities of MR regime enabling them to decide for a good leader. But even today, to leave half baken contents – not being honest to themselves is really far from understanding.

Nonis Appu should meet with Ranil Wickramsinghe. He is the only person we can rely on as non-abusive kind of leader today. I have no doubt, RW will lead the country to progress having learnt all the lessions so far.

If Nonis only focuses on his business promotions being entwined to srilanken diplomacy, he will not have chance with Ranil and his govt in the future. But I believe once a criminal is not life long criminal so we need to consider all these at least inthe future

Well done!. One has nothing to worry about as long as he or she is honest, truthful, generous, kind and unbiased. The cause for this incident is ‘Greed, Hatred & Illusion’. You are better off being a surgeon than a politician. Let the natural cosmic forces (Karma) take care of the rest of the episode. Stay away from the ‘Mithya Drushtika, Asathpurisha’ humans.

The cause for this incident is allegdly calling the Foregn Secretary a bloody bitch by His Excellency the High Commissioner, we all seem to forget that.

Lets consider these facts… The Secretary of Ministry of External Affais is the reporting authority of al ambassadors and high commissioners. The boss

The High commissioner has called his boss a “bloody bitch”

If we forget the personalities involved, just address the matter on these facts then the high commissioner is clearly in the wrong, not just for insubordinate and abusive behaviour accoring to the admin regulations of Sri lanka but also for abuse against women

Of couse I donot for condone physical violence, neither do I wish to whitewash the monitoing MP but what about extreme provocation established here ? and the rprehensible act of calling a woman a bloody bitch?

Let us see facts for what they are, untainted by political loyalty, class, social or even religious bias..would any of us tolerate such behaviour (abuse of a woman, a boss at that) from anyone and then try to justify it ?

I state firmly, monitoring MP is wrong to use violence in this instance, I do not justify that too but the story obvoius has more than just the side we see

        Ma’am Ishani
I don’t know where you went to school or worked, but in generally established business, political or academic circles, if a subordinate choses to hurl verbal epithets in the office or at his superior it is never OK for the receiver of the abuse (or her chaperone) to inflict corporal punishment on the perpetrator.

The rule-book in such cases would prescribe that the incident be investigated by an independent body of suitably qualified people and if the perpetrator is found guilty, for him to be dealt with according to the policies of the organisation. At the worst case, the perpetrator will be dismissed from service, NOT subject to brute force.

IN this case however, both perpetrator of the alleged offence and the dispenser of ‘justice’ seem to have happily accepted the ‘medicine’, shrugged of the incident and continue in office with nary a care in the world.

This above anything else puts the character of the perpetrator in perspective, despite his high social profile and professional accreditations.

        O tempora O mores!

          Dear Mr Ben Dover

In spite of the serious comment, and the gravity of the times (o tempora o mores indeed) your hadle- Ben Dover did manage to elicit a smile from me

I was tempted to address you and the other pea in the pod Mr Phil McCavity but stopped just in time for the fear of being labelled homophobic.

I agree with you fully except in the instance where you imply that I was advocating corporal punishement andin fact supporting the dispenser of summary justice.

No, not at all…I have repeatedly said that I dont condone that and I do not wish to whitewash the politician here.

Its the apathy here amongst a large number of learned people about what is “also” a case of verbal harassment to a woman that irks me.

I am not a learned person, neither did I go to a school where latin was in the curriculum but I thought rising to the defence of a woman is considered “gallant” by such people who had their education in schools with traditions such as Harrow Eton Royal St Thomas,Trinity etc etc

Some concern fr the lady here might have led to a more balanced discussion, that is my point

            Miss Ishani,

You seem to either ignore or not know Shenuka Seneviratne’s record while she worked in the Embassy in New York.Ask Ambassador Daya Perera’ son and he may tell you .Also check with Edmond Jayasinghe one time career diplomat who also worked in New York at the same time. Then check miss piggy Shenuka’s record while she worked in Minister Hameed’s office in your Ministry ,before she wangled her way into the Foreign Service.Ask it from Nuhuman.

Once you know more about Shenuka u will also call her a bitch or something even worse.

Kshenuka Seneviratne is the Dancing partner of Baby Namal, the synthetic Lawyer.

No wonder she gets all the immunity from the Big Papa, the Hambanthota swollen head gone crazy thug “Kabaraya” Crocodile.

We here that there’s already an conspiracy been carried out to accuse Dr.Nonis by the Big Papa and his FM gang of thugs.
Let’s see how the investigation concludes.

“Ben Dover did manage to elicit a smile from me”… guess she didn’t hit the search button on that one. Good thing your moniker didn’t sound like a Latin phrase.

So, she does not condone or whitewash the politician but the “extreme provocation established here(sick)” justifies the politician’s action (i.e. rising to the defence(sic) of a woman)? OK if someone figures this out please let us know how you did it.

Hey sister, this holding the door for women thing is old school. I hear women now-a-days get offended when they are treated like they are of lesser ability; with that gender equality thing and all… may be you are much older than your name suggests; more like a Alice may be?

These people are in the business of justifying and whitewashing the massacre of thousands of Tamils. Does anyone really think they have any problem defending a diplomat being beaten up silly? Are you kidding me?

“If we forget the personalities involved…” ooh now that’s convenient isn’t it?

“just address the matter on these facts…” now they want to address the FACTS, do they? Isn’t that nice?

“neither do I wish to whitewash the monitoing MP” he he he…

“but what about extreme provocation established here” this just keeps getting better and better.

Now don’t get me wrong, this guy who goes around calling women “bloody bitch”, with no provocation in their part of course, thoroughly deserves the beating he got. I think being kicked when he was down goes well with his level of education too.

I mean look, the very guy who went around ridiculing those who said Sri Lankan government didn’t take their complaints about troop atrocities seriously finally had to admit that complaining to Rajapaksa (directly) is of no use. If that doesn’t give you a smirk that’ll last at least a few days I don’t know what will. Chris Nonis and Dayan Jayatilleka are prime examples that demonstrate no amount of education can give someone a true sense of justice or humanity. For them it’s all about power play. Having lived a privileged life their sense of justice and fairness is one sided.

For those who have not met truly brilliant (and humble) people, these guys with their PhDs and fake accents might seem smart; but for the rest of us they are just political lackeys who off-and-on get to hang on the gravy-train until somebody from inside decided to kick them off.

        Ishani,

Please don’t count CT readers as “Clowns” to swallow your Gullible.

This was a well set, pre-planned drama to hurt and discredit a respected and an educated Ambassador in London.

Can’t you guess by the face how the Thug looking, low education, low IQ bunch of a nut face Sajin Vass Gunawardena is. There’s nothing in him except the Political Power.

This is a well orchestrated, well planned drama carried out by SVG thug with the blessings of his Masters.

What Dr.Chris Nonis has to do is to Immediately admit to an Hospital in London and to get a Hospital diagnosis report on the wounds to his face and body and to use this to file a criminal case against thug SVG.

There should be a stop to Mara atrocity and criminality.

        Ishani,

You say, ‘Let us see facts for what they are, untainted by political loyalty, class, social or even religious bias..would any of us tolerate such behaviour (abuse of a woman, a boss at that) from anyone and then try to justify it ?

Have you forgotten when Gota used foul language on Fredrica Janz, he justified that it is not slander as is the norm in the Western culture. So what harm using, fucking bitch? Unless you are also one to be offended. As for Kshenuka Seneviratne she is a high society Sl t, who survives best in the description attributed to her with Sajin Vass, MR type, where Chris No(p)nis has no interest in. Do you remember the photo displayed on CT where Kshenuka S was gyrating with Namal Baby and am sure she would have given a lesson or two in the fine art to Namal, including fellatio.

        Ha,ha.
I have a few questions for you sweet stupid lady.
1.Were you there when all this happened?
2.Did you actually hear Nonis calling Kshenuka a bitch?
3.Do you know exactly how and why she got that job of hers in the first place.? (she is not capable of organising a piss-up in a brewery even)
My advice to you is to stay away from contributing to CT and leave your thoughts and decisions to the real ‘Diplomats’.

Fine Wine , sadly doesn’t go well with Dosai and Sambar.

10 bucks Sav Blanc is OK with a good Jaffna Goat Curry and Idly with your hot Red Coconut Sambal.

The latest is that your new mate Dr Norris was served a good bottle of French Red, probably given to our SLA director by someone.

And poor Vass couldn’t handle the excess Taninns ,

And Dr Norris calling a Srilankan lady, a F… B.. blew his top, which is understandable.

My elders tell me that the Diaspora dudes who are up to speed with their new cultures call their partners, “My Bitch” of course in an affectionate manner.

Probably Dr Norris whom I believe is a British Citizen thought the same.

Nonis is a fraud.he now says he “Professional”Far from it. He is just a glorified Mudalali at Mackwoods. He Never practiced medicine and he is certainly no proffesional diplomat. He is calling himself a professional just to justify continuing as Ambassador. The fellow will never give up the glory of the ambassador position ,even if his late mum appeals from where ever the lady is.He will never give up his flag mounted Jaguar, the pounds 18000/= a month Swiss Cottage Residence and all other perks and luxuries and privileges he now enjoys.

Readers can now await how Nonis will shortly justify why he has to carry on as High Commissioner to United Kingdom.

      Rodney P,

How strange, I only heard the other day that you had approached MR and had asked you to be appointed as the successor to Chris Nonis as the High Commissioner to the UK and you were told by MR that CN had pleaded with MR to extend his term by another year and MR had asked you to take up the post of Ambassador to the EU instead. Are you also a customer of Kshenuka Seneviratne? No wonder the Drama of assault fits in place, with you in the background, helping Sajin Vass et al. I wonder what your late father would have said of you breaking bread with MR? Why not afterall he too was a THUG who went to aid JR when he was in need and came to the limelight in the UNP and reaped many a benefit from the UNP thereafter.

No wonder you all do not fancy RW but prefer MR to have deals, because RW is not amenable to the sycophants of your breed.

        Gaming,

Just to add to what u say.

We should not forget that Rodney while serving in Kenya as Deputy High Commissioner produced false bills for the supply of drinking water and was reimbursed.Actually the water was supplied free to embassies in view of a drought that existed at the time.He did it with assistance of a Sr Lankan bottle water supplier in NairobiThe whole inquiry by the foreign ministry was stopped because Paul Perera used influence and then Secretary had to close the file.He made millions by renting a new premises for embassy office in Kenya

Then who could forget Paul Perera the rowdy thug who had Dr. Beelings house in Dickman Road Col 5 stoned because Paul’s daughter eloped with the respectable Beeling’s son. Here too Paul used political influence on the OIC police in bambalapitiya and the whole inquiry was stopped. Now the fellow Rodney must be having plans to rob in Brussels too.All thugs and rouges

He could have showed his swollen face and got Sajin arrested whereby Sajin would have learnt a lesson NEVER to raise his hand nor his foot on anyone, now a tad bit late. Read this article:

Great Apes Think Ahead: Conclusive Evidence Of Advanced Planning Capacities
        Date:
        June 19, 2008

In a series of four experiments, Mathias and Helena Osvath investigated whether chimpanzees and orangutans could override immediate drives in favor of future needs, and therefore demonstrate both self-control and the ability to plan ahead, rather than simply fulfill immediate needs through impulsive behavior.

es can plan for their future needs just as we humans can – by using self-control and imagining future events. Mathias and Helena Osvath’s research, from Lunds University Cognitive Science in Sweden, is the first to provide conclusive evidence of advanced planning capacities in non-human species.
The complex skill of future planning is commonly believed to be exclusive to humans, and has not yet been convincingly established in any living primate species other than our own. In humans, planning for future needs relies heavily on two mental capacities: self-control or the suppression of immediate drives in favor of delayed rewards; and mental time travel or the detached mental experience of a past or future event.

In a series of four experiments, Mathias and Helena Osvath investigated whether chimpanzees and orangutans could override immediate drives in favor of future needs, and therefore demonstrate both self-control and the ability to plan ahead, rather than simply fulfill immediate needs through impulsive behavior.

Two female chimpanzees and one male orangutan, from Lund University Primate Research Station at Furuvik Zoo, were shown a hose and how to use it to extract fruit soup. They were then tempted with their favorite fruit alongside the hose to test their ability to suppress the choice of the immediate reward (favorite fruit) in favor of a tool (the hose) that would lead to a larger reward 70 minutes later on (the fruit soup). The apes chose the hose more frequently than their favorite fruit suggesting that they are able to make choices in favor of future needs, even when they directly compete with an immediate reward.

New tools the apes had not encountered before were then introduced: one new functional tool which would work in a similar way to the hose, and two distractor objects. The apes consciously chose the new functional tool more often and took it to the reward room later on, where they used it appropriately, demonstrating that they selected the tool based on its functional properties. According to the authors, this indicates that the apes were pre-experiencing a future event i.e. visualizing the use of the new tool to extract the fruit soup.

One of the decisive experiments excluded associative learning* as an explanation of the results. Associative learning has been suggested to account for the findings in previous planning studies on animals (corvids and great apes), and therefore the previous studies have not been generally accepted as evidence for non-human planning.

Taken together these results strongly suggest that great apes engage in planning for the future. The authors conclude that “the results of this study entail that capacities central to humans evolved much earlier than previously believed.”

*A learning principle based on the belief that ideas and experiences reinforce one another and can be mentally linked to enhance the learning process.

Ishani has raised a very pertinent pint of view on this “assault” matter and calling a women in a disgraceful manner. Also the official status of this lady in question.

If the lady felt “insulted” and “abused” what she should have done? In my opinion, if she had an ounce of dignity, she would have left the place immediately and taken up with the higher authorities viz, the Minister of External Affairs, her superior in command. Or did she immediately complained to the Monitoring MP present on the spot and created the environment ( it is reported that she cried loud at that moment) for this MP (who is not her boss and drunk) to such disgraceful violence against this High Commissioner who is also the representative of the President in UK?. What were also the circumstances of this HC to have made such derisive remarks at the lady? Surely he would not have just said such words (f….bitch) without any provocation or some instigation? An outburst of such a nature would indicate something very serious circumstances. So equally the victim also culpable and instrumental to what happened. In that respect we have to forget that “gender” matter you are speaking of. Please note just because you are “woman” you cannot and will not be exempted from the responsibility of creating the environment.

As regards “insubordination” it is again a matter of “reporting” and “investigation” of a complaint. Has she done that up to now? NO. That silence means she is not interested in pursuing the matter any further other than to settle with that “Kane Shot” passed through the MP. So she does not want any “Administrative Regulation” or “Establishment Code” procedures to be used to punish the “subordinate”. In short she has chosen to follow the “Law of the Jungle”. The case rests there.

Hi Nonis the Great Defender of the Regime. Welcome to the Used Condom Club.

I think Dr. Nonis announced his resignation publicly after understanding that this time his letter of resignation will be accepted. Otherwise, if he wanted to do it he could have done it immediately without allowing the people to confuse. He waited to create sympathy about him and damage others.

He is not a professional diplomat. He was a Doctor of Medicine and a Businessman. According to the information I have, he also stopped practicing as a medical doctor long time ago.

Now DJ, Tamara K and Dr. CN (Chris Nonis) are in one camp. They will make some media stories for some time.

If DJ was allowed to continue in Paris, Tamara K in Geneva and the so called Prof RW is to have the peace secretariat or appointed at least as a Minister of Rehabilitation and Reconciliation they all would have blamed Dr. CN for the current episode.

CN will lose the opportunity to use his post to attend parties and Royal ceremonies. He will continue to say that he was the one who made the CHOGM to happened in SL and David Cameron and Charles to came to SL because of his untiring lobbing.

In fact if some else was serving in CN’s place the same thing would have happened.

Anyway, I was reading “BHAGAVAD GITA SUMMARY” gifted by one of my friends, I sincerely hope that the following will be very useful for DJ, TK, CN and Rajeeva W

    • “Why do you worry without cause? Whom do you fear without reason? Who can kill you? The soul is neither born, nor does it die.”

    • “Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening…”

    • “What did you lose that you cry about? What did you bring with you, which you think you have lost? What did you produce, which you think got destroyed? You did not bring anything – whatever you have, you received from here. Whatever you have given, you have given only here. Whatever you took, you took from God. Whatever you gave, you gave to him. You came empty handed, you will leave empty handed. What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else the day after tomorrow. You are mistakenly enjoying the thought that this is yours. It is this false happiness that is the cause of your sorrows.”

The Gita also said ‘ Do what you have to do, in accordance with your vocation, regardless of the forces arraigned against you- cousins, uncles, nephews, gurus and mentors’. It also said, ‘ do what you have to do dispassionately and objectively’.

Thanks for quoting the Gita in its approach to the human conundrum and dilemma. The Gita was delivered at the beginning of the Kali Yuga and is yet relevant as the worst of the Kali Yuga is manifesting all around us, more so in our lives in Sri Lanka.

      But Poddiappuwo,
dont you think that the bugger in power could have appointed most suitable ones not only to UK but also other countries too. Had he done the job in a good way as was the case CBK, MrsB and JR – srilanka s external affairs would have achieved lot for the future of the country. TOday just to get the country/nation branded as nationalist idiots specially by westernworld where thousands of srilankens live as asylum seekers – this is not all beause of Rajapakshes visionless regime. Can you name any previous regime that has abused locals and IC folks to the manner Rajapakshes have been. Why a nation blessed with a majority of lierate to face it – if Pakistan, Bangaladesh and India could have reasonable responses to this bcuas the larger majorities of those country are illiterate. So the politicians can live up their fantasy kind of politicial agendas in all abusive ways. But why do srilanekns behave so – though said to be over 91% are literate.

        You are right Sama,

The results of appointing self-centered, Media-mania and megaphone-diplomats can be seen now through their media reports after they were thrown.

As per government establishment code and regulations public servants can’t make any media comments without the authority and the clearance from the secretary concerned. However, Dr. CN, Dr. DJ and Tamara K are now become megaphone jokers.

I hope the SLG should understand at least now how the previous governments were able choose noble persons to represent the country?

Dr Nonis is a gentleman and comes from aristocratic stock.

He made us proud by getting CHOGM to Sri Lanka – without him this would have not bean possible. His concluding ramarks at the National
Defence Seminar and the manner in which he handled the foreign media were simply outstanding. He has interacted with royalty and was instrumental in getting Prince Charles to attend CHOGM.

There aren’s many like him in this country. I wish there were more gentlemen like him and less thugs – then our country would surely be a paradise!

It’s sad to see a Medical Doctor by profession, one who volunteered to help our country, treated like this. We are with you, Dr Nonis!

Well well well, for thouse who critisize and want to throw stones, let me say this!

When you point one finger at Dr Nonis there are 4 fingers pointed at you. Obviously you are not a gentleman like him and not from the same class nor did go to a good school nor come from good breeding.

Under no circumstances, should one be happy at another’s misfortune..such people are wicked and ungodly.

    Dr Nonis is a gentelman….

    I rest my case!

Mahinda promotes and thrives with the uneducated. To appoint an uneducated to shadow Prof Peiris’s Ministry speaks of his taste. Even the educated must behave like uneducated for him and Prof Peiris is delivering this in such a way that boot liking overstretch the purse is the only interest. There is no values, self respect, etiquette or basic decency needed all is down to hero worshipping at any cost.

Shobasha that led to the erosion of culture of governance that has reduced Sri Lanka to parochial status and is place for ruffians, fiddlers, rowdies and thugs.

Sajin is the blue eyed boy sitting on Mahinda’s lap with a pistol tied to his foot and the message is clear for Dr Nonis that he will not be entertained anymore.

This another aspect of the crumbling status of the Rajapakse regime and there will be more to expect in the near future.

As Nonis was talking about of his professionalism., a lady who had to feed 2 kids and her ailing mother in Ratnapura had to resort to prostitution which in fact is the oldest profession in the world.

This woman have guts to come out against the all powerful SL police force and complaint about the assault of a policeman who was asking a free ride on her and finally she was able to file a HR complain as well as claim of 50million from the police force.

isnt this woman have a better profession and a bravery than our so called diploMutts like Nonis, Tamara, Dayan, Rajiv etc., who keep going after licking the back of the Sataka types even after they were kicked out or slapped on the face by the regimes baggage boy who is the unofficial foreign minister and chief money launderer for the regime.

Hope that Nonis will learn a lesson. Just because he has money and other material wealth he should not harass his staff. To please his third grade Minister Nonis has done many wrong deeds. He is now paying for them. His staff in London are very happy over his decision to resign. His staff in Colombo are highly worried that he is returning to Mackwoods!
Nonis was nothing if not for his High commissioner post. He is not suitable at all as a physician as he is not a kind person. He can now be considered for the ALU GOSUWA post vacant at present at Kandy prison. He is such a cruel and greedy man.

      Peter Perera,

What is the objective your post? I know not as to the veracity of your claims and nor am I interested as to Nonis’s character. That is not the point; the issue is that, he has been mercilessly assaulted by the a man who is the confidant of the president. It was obviously reported to the president, but nothing whatsoever has been done about it.

If indeed, as you claim, Nonis is unsuitable and not vocationally inclined to his post, he could have been sacked or moved on; simple is it not?

When Nonis was lying through his teeth answering the British and world press in order to protect the MR regime, I am sure you would have one of the many who were giving thumbs up! Now that, his usage is out of date, you have come on this forum to minuscule the impact caused by this incident! Do you have any standards?

Given the plethora of reports on the events in New Jersey, I have drawn together a summary of the views of all concerned, having had to ‘read between the lines’ to make sense of some. Here is what the main actors said.

Ariyawansa – King of New Jersey. I had no idea that Red Label was so powerful. Actually, to tell the truth, I didn’t see anything because I was busy paying attention to my ‘baduwa’.

Shaynookie ‘The beautiful and almost virginal’. I like the males around me to be in a state of musth. Nobody called a ‘puckin’ bitch’ but it is possibly that I may not have noticed it at all because ‘they call me that all the time’.

Sajin baby – all I could hear was puckin’ puckin’ puckin’ I thought ‘nodukkin’ this must be the way diplobuggers talk. Anyway, I cannot remember a thing. Chef, the chicken curry was ‘maru’…..

Nonis Appu – It was very warm and, after the first sip, the room started turning and I knew there was trouble ahead when I saw the weird crazy smile of ‘mata hari’ Sheynokia the tale carrier, and then it was puckin’ puckin’ puckin’ pattas! Next thing was I felt my cheek getting hot like somebody had rubbed kochchi miris. Straightaway, without even waiting for the stringhopper feed, I hotfooted to the grand old New York hotel where the Prez of our 2500 year-old civilisation was relaxing and gave him my resignation. The Prez of course kindly refused saying ‘what else will you do? Think about it.

The Prez: ‘See all the time I have clean up the children’s shit’.

Keheliya Rambuttangoda – Chief Mouthpiece. ‘Yes’ ‘No’ ‘No’ ‘Yes’ ‘Um Um let me check with the EAM’.

Dr Nonis, you may have heard about what happens to those who sleep with dogs. They wake up with fleas & fleas bite.
Hope you are a man of principles & stick by your resignation. People in SL have short memories and are ready to join the band wagon even with those who have murdered your own family.

Pauper become Multi millionaire proxing for MahaRaja(pakeha). God will make them all go mad and allow them to kill each other.
We the people have to sit back and watch. No principles or values. It is only the money and power that keeps talking.
The curses of the people will take effect.

    Dr.Chris Nonis,

The sad incident happened to you in NY came as a Blessing in Disguise to you and all of us Sri Lankans.

This is the criminal of the thug who murdered, white vanned and made disappear over 15 Journalists including Lasantha Wickrematunge and kicked over 100 of them from Sri Lanka since the Moth…Fuc…r became President in 2005.

This Bast….d Tsunami crook is the biggest Alibaba and Commission Kakka in Sri Lanka’s history. Also he and his Gang are the top Cocain, drug and Ethenol importers in Sri Lanka.

Also he is the biggest Black money agent in Sri Lanka. The Bast…d runs his business by suppressing Media, Judiciary, Police, and Bribery commissions and also suppressing his Cabinet and Parliament Ministers.
Nobody knows his hidden wealth, black money and other looted money and Gold. Nobody can talk against him and his Gang of thugs, looters and coolies. Even FM GLP is a mere dog in front of him. He spy on everybody including Ex.President Madam Chandrika Bandaranaike.

Also he kicked all the best Diplomats including Dr.Dayan, Prof.Rajiva, Dr.Jayantha Danapala, Dr.Amarasinghe, Ms.Tamara Kunanayakam etc,etc out and replaced them with his uneducated and uncivilized Yes Sir Hambanthota villege Coolies.

    Dr.Nonis,

Please at least do the following if you are looking for Justice for what happened to you.

1)Call in all the leading TV Channels like CH 4, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, ABC, . Fox 5 and all other International TV, Radio and Press etc, and tell them . . everything from the beginning as to what happened to you in NY.

2)Have an interview with British Parliament members and most probably with PM . David Cameron and CW Secretary General Sharma and explain them as to what . . happened to you. You may even email them in case you cannot meet them.

3)Visit a leading Doctor in London ASAP and get a Medical report on the bruises, marks and facial and bodily hurt that occured to you due to the kicking and hitting by thug Sajin Vass.

    4) Get a good Lawyer or a Law Firm in London and file case against thug Sajin for compensation for over 100 Million British Pounds for harassing, physical and mental damage to you and for discrediting your Reputation. You may be the only Diplomat who had to face this much of embarrassment in front of the world by a Thug ex Wharf Clerk. You have to file a case in London and not in Sri Lanka as Sri Lanka’s Judiciary is Rajapakse’s coolies. Therefore the best is to file a case in London where you live now.

    5) Finally Dr.Nonis you are a well educated, well qualified respectable Doctor who was practising medicine in London before became Sri Lanka’s Ambassador and you doesn’t deserve to be kicked by an uneducated, uncivilized Coolie of a Hambanthota Village crocodile thug moron. He and his marauders should be taught a lesson for life.

Please sue the uncivilized donkey and his thug coolies to teach them how to live in a civilized world.

    Good Luck to you.

haha, this is funny, guess what – like the grama sevaka in Kelaniya did with Merv the perv, Nonis will let this incident die as if go against the regime, he will end up like a Lasantha W or a SF or both.

This will be hara-kiri for his Mackwoods tea business and the bugger will just hide from this incident and he may have recovered from the bruises of the punch from the Sajja Gonawardana the thug from Amabalangoda.

IF anyone want to think deep., its like 2 wild dogs in the Medamulana walawwa had a fight and one dog slap the other and there is one winner obviously who was sent to the holy see to meet the papal and a last minute thoughts of cardinal Malcom Ranjith have make the inhabitants of our emerald isle lucky as he was kept away from the proceedings. Whi knows this animal may have slapped the holyman too after few Johnie Walker shots.

Cardinal Malcom Ranjith – you saved us from a backlash.

Truth to be told, Nonis did business of his Macwoods company misusing the position. Courtesy brother Lorenzo.

Concerned Sri Lankans in the UK pointed out that according to Government Establishment Code (Chapter XXX titled ‘Rights of Government over its offices’: Sections 1:1 and 1:2), “a government official cannot engage in any other business”.

They quoted the relevant sections: “The government has a total claim to the time, knowledge, talents and skills of its officers and their salary is fixed on the assumption, unless specifically provided for otherwise. No officer may take part in the affairs of any commercial or business undertaking or of any firm carrying on any description of professional work”.

One of the key questions asked from prospective candidates under ‘Future Employment Relationships’ is – “will you sever all connections with your present employers, business firms, business associations or business organizations if your proposed appointment is confirmed?”, they pointed out.

No difference between MR’s brother-in-law Jaliya doing his tea business misusing the US embassy.

    Same lot.

      Fathima F.

If an ex.Tea salesman became a Diplomat could sell Tea in USA, if Gold is transported from Korea through the Diplomatic bag, if Minister Hula casino king could get a Diplomatic post in Australia, what problem you see and Ambassador Promoting Tea in UK besides his work.

After all what real work our Ambassadors do in their Foreign Missions mostly attending Dinners, parties, tamashas and banquets. UNGA AGM in NY is no different. It’s a real Party time with the bunch of over 70 “super Nade” in the Big Apple. Only difference is Sri Lanka became the most talked and most popular Party King in the town.

Who said Blue Label makes you drunk…….unless you finished Three bottles yourself alone. It is the most smoothest drink ever that one can enjoy. So don’t blame Blue Label whisky for Dr.Nonis’s Face and Butt attack.

That’s why in India they train for 15 years before they place their Diplomatic staff abroad. Our’s only qualification needed is to Bend in three folds in front of Maha Raja. Hurrah…… job done.

We need to follow India’s foot steps.

I have been watching the interviews from Sri Lankan diplomats on major news channel like CNN, when they start their mouth the time slice has gone and most of the time they look like a foolish dumb people to the viewers and it is a disgrace to Sri Lanka, some time they get a chance to talk but nobody can understand what they are talking about or there no clear point that they try to emphasis.
For last 15 years only interview that I watched that I said to myself “wow” is the CNN interview did by Dr. Chris Nonis. It was to the point and very articulate and that day I was so proud to be a Sri Lankan.
