By Colombo Telegraph –
The TNA organized a meeting at the Kilinochchi office of Shritharan MP on 30th March 2013 with some of TNA party supporters. MPs Mavai Senathirajah, E Saravanabavan and M A Sumanthiran were present with Shritharan.
“About 50 people were gathered there and the meeting commenced at about 10am in the open area under trees. When the final speaker, Mavai Senathirajah was speaking, around 11.45, a procession of protestors holding the national flag were heard shouting slogans on the A9 highway. Thereafter they came into the road towards the premises we were in, hurling huge rocks and concrete blocks at us. Vehicles, and the building were damaged. Many people got injured.” says TNA.
The TNA press statement says; “Although there were police officers at that place placed for our protection, they took no effort to quell this. The people had to forcefully close the gate. Two attackers who got into the premises we caught and given to the police, who promptly chased them away out of the gate. A little later the DIG and a team of senior police officers arrived and at that the people caught another man in green T shirt (photographs show him clearly) and identified him as one of the attackers. He had a CID identity card with him. But the police officers took no notice of that and let him get away from there. Photogrphs taken show the identity of the attackers very clearly and the fact that they came in a procession along A9 without police permission for a procession, passing many police personnel on the way. No one has been arrested so far in connection with this open day light attack. ”

The police will not act, if any problem is connected with armed forces, without orders from the very top. This also extends to former LTTE cadres working for the armed forces. I have seen this happen recently in one instance in Kilinochchi connected with a land issue.
The ID , if confirmed as one issued by the CID, may indicate the the CID is not under the police establishment anymore.

Really? Then why did you “laud” the services of the government if they are not fulfilling their duties properly as part of the “diaspora” group?
/
Dr.Rajasingham Narendran / March 31, 2013
I yet laud what the government has done. There is no all or none phenomenon in such matters. One has laud what is right, expect things to get better and criticise where things continue to be wrong.
Such things are obviously above your level of comprehension and politics.

Rajasingham,
If the Government’s intentions were to truly protect the country including the Tamils, certainly the acts should be lauded. But after four years do you still remain convinced that the Governments intentions from the very onset in this whole episode were honourable towards Tamils? Could you confirm if you still remain convinced?
/
Dr.Rajasingham Narendran / April 1, 2013
Yes. I believe that MR undefined vision enviasged thatt economic development will bring about sufficient prosperity in the Tamil areas and this would undermine the political demands of the Tamils. He probably thought that history can be rolled back to the point it was was at indepence. Unfortunately, he is wrong in this aspect of his thinking. He should have moved on a parallel political track soon after the war. He has commited a grave historical error in judgement.
Further, some post-war decisions of his government were foolhardy and myopic. This has compounded the above error.

Thank you for your response.
Given your firm belief that MR’s “undefined vision envisaged that economic development will bring about sufficient prosperity in the Tamil areas”, could you point out just one or two specific actions by MR that convinces you MR acted to bring prosperity to the Tamil civilians. I am assuming you will agree that using borrowed/donated international funds to establish Military-controlled businesses, with labour brought from the South would not count as “bringing prosperity to Tamils.” Could you name a few specific job opportunities that that were created, targeted at Tamils in the North or East?
What convinces you that he was “wrong in his thinking?” Many of us believe that he had planned and executed exactly his vision – dilute the Tamil concentration with forced eviction and settlement from Southern population; obscure Tamil and Hindu land marks and culture by a deluge of vihara’s and monks; use the military’s might to ensure subduing any Tamil resistance to achieve these objectives. Do you see any evidence that might support such a theory that might have some impact on your belief, or are you truly convinced MR’s intentions were and remain honourable so far as Tamils are concerned?
As an aside, “undefined vision” seems an oxymoron – it is not a vision, if it is undefined. Throwing about high-sounding conjugations do little to either explain or impress.
Finally, did you mean “foolish and myopic” or was “foolhardy” intended?

Why as part of the “diaspora” didn’t you advice MR and your bosom buddy Gota?
Didn’t you have their ear? Or are you only interested in your OWN personal glory?
(remember remember lest we forget how you suggested a “public fund” to help the ex-CJ and I suggested you start it and we will follow and then nothing ! Because as always in everything you do your statement of a public fund was for your own glory and not for the benefit of the country and the ex-CJ )

Absolutely!
But that should not prevent anyone from making a request for clarification or expressing counter arguments. They are not “objecting to freedom of expression” as you seem to imply.

Looking at the recent events, I think we are back to 1950s. Nothing learnt, there is no genuine foreseen people, like Lincoln, in this country.
I think we should prepare our self to loose the identity, that’s what going to happen regardless of our aspirations.

Why is that only Tamil/Muslim Minorities are at the receiving end of Mobs ???
Why “Patriotic” Mobs waving Srilanka flag have to throw stones at a meetiing being held to decide plans for participate in the forthcoming Northern elections Democratically ???
Mahinda once asked what Tamils lack in Srilanka & the Answer is obvious.
Democratic Space is being denied to Minorities to rule democratically in North & East & to protest as Mobs while unltd freedom is granted for Sinhala Buddhist Monks in robes.

Tamils have no choice. They would not want to go back another arm struggle.!!!!!! I felt the same when the Sinhala thugs with a government minister and the police put the Jaffna library in flame. Same again when I was watching the smoke miles away when the thugs( in the Srilankan police) were putting the Co operative stores and new market in flame.
Tamils have no choice, but only one option to start somewhere.
The government of Srilanka would arm every sihhalese with weapons to kill Tamils. It could be in the name of forces or home guards. that could well be the weakness while an opportunity for Tamils.
But the on going speed , I do not believe there could be any Tamil left to walk free.

Soon Sinhalese will kill the Sinhalese with the same arms. Then there will be no Sinhalese left. But we can get a few from Pakistan – Don’t worry

Where were the “good” Sinhalese when state sponsored riots against Tamils happened in 1956, 1958, 1977, 1981……… or against the Muslims in 1915?
In fact, a lot of Sinhalese gleefully joined the riots and burned unarmed children and families alive….. There is no such a thing as a good Sinhalese… No wonder Vijaya (father of Sinhala race) was exiled from his original motherland in Bengal for his wicked behaviors…[Edited out] Buddha probably committed suicide in heaven after knowing that Sinhalese are Buddhists.

Yes right now it’s very simple and easy to built their fake id card, I don’t know how is it possible but it’s true and it is dangerous to all the world because with the help of fake id people take your money as well as every thing… so my advice to government to take and hard action and organized an organization that built id in unique way…
