The government has taken the stance that the fire which gutted the NOLIMIT store was a result of an electrical system issue, The Colombo Telegraph learns.
The stance comes prior the release of the analysts report and only a few hours after the building which was the flagship store of the Muslim owned clothing chain was gutted,
However, sources on the ground told Colombo Telegraph that they heard ” several explosions” between 2.45 and 3.00 AM. At least three eye witnesses said that they say ” people running away from the store” during the time.
The General Manager of the NOLIMIT chain said that the entire building possesses a highly sophisticated and technologically advanced electrical system and dismissed the claim that the fire was a result of the an electrical short.
The Colombo Telegraph was the first to break the news of the fire in the wee hours of the morning today.
The No Limit chain had come under severe verbal abuse, and thereafter attack by mobs, following the targeted abuse by Galagoda atthe Gnanasara.
Gnansara called for the boycotting of the business establishment by the Sinhalese while abusing the business with vitriolic rhetoric.
The Websites of Sri Lankas leading English and Sinhala Daily’s were the first to carry out the version of a “suspected electric short”. Both papers have been non committal on the violence unleashed on the Muslims with no mention about the damages to lives and property.
Last year disturbing images have surfaced on an anti-Muslim Facebook page, that show rotten egg assaults on persons carrying shopping bags from a clothing chain vilified by hardline Sinhala groups carrying out a sustained campaign against Muslim enterprises.
The Facebook page, called Athugal Pura Sinha Pataw highlights the images of a man and a woman following an assault with eggs holding No Limit bags. The group’s motto is “Konda pana athi niyama sinhalayanta pamanai” (Exclusively for Sinhalese with a backbone)
Posted under the title Kurunegala Pursuit and Attack with Rotten Eggs and says “If you go to NOLIMIT or Fashion Bug we will attack. If you have their bags in your hand we will attack. And that is not all. Those who betray the race, even if they have police protection will be attacked with rotten eggs today, feces tomorrow.”

(20.June.2014, 11.30PM) Sparks flew at the weekly cabinet meeting held on Thursday June 19th when the issue of anti Muslim violence instigated by the Bodhu Bala Sena in Aluthgama and Beruwela was discussed.
Heated arguments occurred between Muslim cabinet ministers Rauff Hakeem and Rishad Badhiutheen on the one hand and Buddhist cabinet ministers Champika Ranawaka on the other.
The bone of contention was the Bodhu Bala Sena(BBS). While the two Muslim ministers were harshly critical of the BBS and wanted the outfit proscribed the Buddhist ministers defended the BBS and argued against a ban on the Buddhist organization alone.Both Hakeem and Badhiutheen had wanted action to be taken against Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero for his inflammatory anti – Muslim speech in Aluthgama.
The highlight of the cabinet meeting however was the flare up between President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Industries and Commerce Minister Rishad Badhiutheen.
According to informed sources cabinet minister Badhiutheen who is also the leader of the All Ceylon Peoples Congress had addressed the President at one stage and stated “After the ethnic violence of July 1983 it has been under your rule that communal violence and destruction of such magnitude has happened.The Government headed by you as President must take full responsibility for what happened in Aluthgama and Beruwela.
An irritated President had responded “Are you not a minister in this Government”?.To which Badhiutheen had replied “Yes. But you do not listen to what we say as ministers. We wanted the BBS rally in Aluthgama to be stopped but our request was ignored. Gnanasara Thero spoke and encouraged violence. Now we want action taken against him but nothing is happening. Gnanasara Thero is at the bottom of most anti-Muslim activities. We want you to take action against him but you are not doing that.If you do not take action about Gnanasara Thero this country will suffer more violence and destruction”.
Agitated at the unusual defiance displayed by Badhiutheen the President had retorted angrily “Do you know what will happen if the Sinhala ministers present here start speaking on behalf of our Sinhala people in the way that you are speaking in support of your Muslims”?
A tended Badhiutheen had then replied” You must not talk like that sir. You are not the President of the Sinhala people alone. You are the President of the whole country and all the communities.You are the President for the Sinhala,Tamil and Muslim people. You must look after all communities equally. You must not act like the President of the Sinhala people alone.
These words of Badhiutheen enraged the President who is known to be angered easily.He stood up angrily and wagged his finger at Badhiutheen. “Stop speaking immediately and shut up. You are racist and a religious fundamentalist. I have been observing your activities for some time now”.
While a visibly shaken Badhiyutheen sat in silence pandemonium reigned. Several ministers got involved in a heated exchange. Senior ministers however intervened and eased the tension by calming their emotional colleagues.

This targeting of No limit and Fashion Bug is to force them to enter into surreptitious “deals” with these extremists, if they and their businesses are to survive. Protection is the word the mafia in the USA prefers. Naturally, the Rajapakse Bros and the Govt will deny this. It is they that encouraged Karuna, Pillaiyan and others to kidnap and make money out of Tamil businessmen in Colombo and the South. Later on KP was tasked with this unenviable function. This is the natural corollary.
As a country functioning under the law and the justice system Sri Lanka is now with the Cleaners – thanks to the Chinthana, the drug-traffickers. kidnappers, killers and other criminals in the higher levels of the Govt. It is a lesson to those Sinhalese – particularly those in the higher tier of the business community – that felt happy Tamils were then harassed and ruined, it is now the turn of the others. It is reported that MR like Premadasa had used filth on GLP, current CJ when he was AG and many other senior Politician. None of these buggers have a backbone and are servile lest they lose their perks and job.
