Your main tourists are from India and the unemployed factory workers from UK. The fact is you cannot live by yourself. The richest man living in the UK is steel giant Mittal a non-resident Indian respected by British royalty and he does not run any business in the UK. You cannot beat them so join them and have fun- that man by nature is a lazy beggar and he is worshiping an Indian called Gautama.

Stupid man guobinjiu doesn’t know that there was nothing called India at Gautama’s time and India is a creation by the British Raj and British India is already broken in to three. Imagine what is to come.

My heart goes to the poor the priest for the humiliation he faced with these terrible hooligans.
If the situation continues like what is in the country now – without any solution, we all have to face these not only in India but all over the world.
All these due to the dirty politicians and their dirty politics, we innocent people have to face all these bad and terrible treatments.

What about killing of poor fishermen in mid sea by Sri Lankan soldiers. Why no one wants to talk about that. Are they are not human? Lots of comments are being made here about humanity but no one wants to talk the about the Christian and Hindu priests killed by Sri Lankan soldiers last days of the war. Killing and attacking other human is not acceptable at all. However it is important to talk about the suffering of all sides.

It is not acceptable to attack an individual whether he is a Sri Lankan or Indian or any person. If you suspect that the individual is not a wanted man then people should bring into the notice of law enforcing body to investigate and take action. Unfortunately it is a common culture in most of the South Eastern countries including Sri Lanka and India that politcians encourage such behaviour and law inforcing bodies are in the side of criminals. For example, I was a government and I went to Batticalo to see my wife and a child and we came back on a bus. The STF commandos stopped the bus and asked all gents to get down and I got down with my child. The officer asked me why did you come here. I said my wife is a doctor working in Batticalo and She is now transferred to Jaffna and we are going to Jaffna. He pulled me holding my trousers and kicked me for no reason other than a Tamil. It is such behaviour we see from law enforcing forces. In Sri Lanka, Over the past six decades of We have seen such a ruthless attack on innocent Tamil Civilians in our streets in the daylight by thugs and even by monks. People afraid to go to the police station because you won’t get justice and in many cases they will charge you.
Today, we see that even the Chief justice has no right to get a honest judicial inquiry. We have lost the right to condemn such attack because we are doing the same thing for the past 60 years.

The Sri Lankan/Sinhala government bear the full responsibility for these incidents,if they were carried out by Tamil nationalists in Tamilnadu or elsewhere in the same manner Sinhalese government was fully responsible for the violent resistance (mainly suicide attacks)from the LTTE.
On the other hand, Sinhalese themselves might have organised these attacks through paid goons of Sinhala Army operatives. Who is the suspicious looking balaclava wearing tall guy (looks like a Sinhalese) lurking around in the background ?

Peter,
Your question of…….”Who is the suspicious looking balaclava wearing tall guy (looks like a Sinhalese) lurking around in the background ?”
He is the Buddhist priest who got hit by the thugs, later changed his clothes to look like a civilian.
In future we may need dress codes when travel to India.

Shame on Tamil Nadu for attacking a priest . World governments should govern with love and compassion. They should govern in a way to show the people the true meaning of life . The Buddha preached TOLERANCE AND WE MUST TOLERATE AND CO – Exist WITH ALL . It’s only thru LOVE AND COMPASSION CAN ALL HUMANS LIVE PEACEFULLY ON THIS PLANET . Then and then only will there be true happiness and we will SEE ALL AS ONE !

Good idea. We don’t need them in Sri Lanka either. Same with Kandy three Preletes.
Should send those over sized, over weight, buldozer BBS to India to safeguard their friends, than blocking roads and protesting near Indian High Commission.
Let’s see how those cardboard fake “Veerayas” action when they go to Tamil Nadu. If Gnanasara Thero could take up the challange……

It is very painful to watch that an innocent Buddhist priest being attacked by a group of Tamil thugs at Chennai. At the same time there are decent Tamils also preventing those thugs from assaulting the Buddhist priest. In a society there are cultured and uncultured people. These people belonged to the category of the uncultured group. It is very sad to hear that no political leaders from Tamil Nadu have condemned such cowardly acts. Moreover the students are engaged in strikes throughout Tamil Nadu over the genocide of innocent Sri Lankan Tamils at this crucial hour. This is the time that emotions should be controlled in keeping the religious trend. It would have been meaningful had these attackers discussed the human rights violations with this Buddhist priest in a civilized manner and handed over a Memorandum about their concern.
It is a very complicated issue. The Sri Lankan politicians are the root cause for these evil deeds. First JR was instrumental for the Black July. VP, too, was partly responsible for religious hatred. Now MR was celebrating the victory over the LTTE based on the racial tone, instead of healing the wounds of feelings of the Tamils. On the contrary MR’s team is concentrating on suppressing the Tamils still further. These politicians do not have far-sighted thinking, which is evident with their malignant economic policy. Now BBS has been created and Muslims have become targets. Apparently even the Customs Officers was infected with religious cancer resulting in sending off a British tourist. When the dispute of human rights violations are been debated at Geneva, students in Tamil Nadu began a protest which is likely to spread all over India. India also will find it difficult to control such activities when gang rape on foreigners and local women is on the increase, to which Sri Lanka too was no exception. It won’t be a surprise even some British may attack on the Buddhist priests, given the fact there are instances of women being raped by Buddhist priests in UK. One might not hesitate to describe the activities of these Buddhist priests to ‘Saffron terrorism’. It appears that these tragic events are a reflection of MR’s regime which had sent a message of poor governance on account of its lies and deceptions. MR has failed to realize that there are undesirable elements to create another tension and conflicts in the country, similar to that of 1983 communal riots. In the opening ceremony of the Hambantota International Airport MR was never allowed room for other religious dignitaries to take part and sit along with the Buddhist priests and also declared that Sri Lanka as a Buddhist country demonstrating to the entire world his petty mind. Briefly it could be said that MR & his team are on a wrong track towards hatred of other religions. It is time that MR and his siblings learn some lessons from countries such as Singapore, Canada, UK, Switzerland, etc, pertaining to the practice of respecting the other religious communities by way of tolerance. If the head of the country behaves in such a manner, surely other countries will maintain silence when Buddhist priests are attacked. Now the next issue is whether the BBS will stage a protest and attack the officers of the Indian High Commission. Everyone is worried about the mad, mad Sri Lanka. I think MR & his siblings should re-consider about the love and compassion preached by Lord Buddha and how it should be practised.

The SL government’s short sightedness by not taking into confidence the Tamil speaking population after crushing the LTTE terrorist outfit, is the reason for this popular uprising in TN. They did not have the will nor the means to develop the North after the ravages of war, until India intervened in a big way to look into Tamil grievances and peoples welfare. Now development is taking place at great pace, but not the winning of hearts and minds of the Tamil people. Instead more and more hatred is being poured on them, through militarization, electrified fencing, day and night pirith blaring from loudspeakers, putting up Buddhist statues on street corners, Hindu Kovils turned into Temples, trying to virtually obliterate any or all identification or relevance to Tamil homeland. How much can people tolerate? Now they are invoking the wrath of Muslims, through attacking what they eat, dress and converting what was a archeological site for Muslims known famously as Jailany in Balangoda into a Buddhist Kuragala. All this being done with tacit government support.

Popular uprising in TN is not a license to humiliate, intimidate, hurt, people who might have had no part in Sri Lankan madness.
If anything these Tamilnadu Tamil thugs should have organised an armada of fellow concerned Tamils and gone to Sri Lanka on a mercy mission to rescue their fellow Tamils who were trapped by both Sinhala and Tiger war criminals.
Beating up a lonely Sri Lankan man is should be condemned by all sane minded people, particularly in Tamilnadu.
These thugs should not be allowed to freely roam around the state as these madmen are danger to rest of the people.

Sri Lankan Government should intervene and show their protest diplomatically against these uncivilized, inhuman acts of foolish tamils .They should know that their relatives who came here to work in tea estates learned how to do sanitary from us Sri lankan Buddhists ..
We as a Government , should ban importing TN products and we should stop issuing Visa’s to these dumb race of Tamil Nadu

Dear We Lions, will it be possible for Sinhalese ladies to boycott Manipuri, Kanchipuram sarees, etc. There are uncivilized elements in every community. Don’t you, for a moment, think there can be some sabotage in this episode either by the BBS or the Muslims. I saw some gentlemen and ladies preventing the attackers from assaulting the priest. These are frustrated hooligans from some petty-minded parties. Were there not unruly elements protesting against the CJ Dr.Shirani Bandaranayake? And what about the Buddhist priests from the BBS protesting against the Muslims over the construction of some Mosques? How is it they were able to take the videos on those two consecutive days and how is it that those three suspicious characters entered into this particular compartment and attacked this specific Buddhist priest and how is it that those three have disappeared immediately. Are there any link between this Buddhist priest and the BBS. Why have they chose the specific day when the Tamil Nadu students were on strike. Is it a sabotage to create another communal disturbance in the country. Even at first, I was angry over this ugly incident. Sinhalese have helped the Tamils during the 1983 riots, and similarly some Tamils have also helped the young Sinhalese when they hunted by the Military during Premadasa’s regime. We should not come to an immediate conclusion accusing each other. Now the Indian government itself is in great difficulties over the Students’ strike whicjh is likely to spread throughtout India. Let us be patient until Tamil Nadu or India issues a statement. What is essential is to defuse the tension and bring about a mutual understanding respect towards people of every country.

It seems like one fellow only was hitting the monk.He seemed to be inflamed by what has happened to the tamils in srilanka. However none of the other people joined him.In fact they were restraining him and protecting the monk. That shows that the hate that this man was showing has still not spread among the wider tamilnadu populace.
It would be a good idea if the tamilnadu government provides some security to the monks when they arrive. If a police constable had been with the monk then this type of incident could have been avoided.
You can’t treat people like this especially when they are visitors.Tamil culture and image will suffer. That is why it is worth providing some police protection because when these kind of videos circulate around the globe that is not good for the tamils image.

The people whos’ pocket the BBS, Sinhale Ravya and JHU are going to the temples, kovils, churches and mosques like saints. They got them to do all their dirty works, see who are the people facing the music now – the innocent people on the street. At least now the people of the country should realize the gravity of the situation and put a stop for these useless, corrupt and self serving politicians who would sell their mother to stay in power. Only they want to stay in power by any means, even if the people and country go to dogs.
Please, Sri Lanka bring in good leaders who are honest and loyal to the people and the country instead of the present day dirty lot who are all out to look after themselves. It is our moral duty to educate our people, their situation wouldn’t get any better unless we change the present situation in the country.

annra,
I think you would have herd these two phrases in Sinhala….
1) “Embalaya wage”
2)”Uruleva giya wage”
1) In the first one means when Embalaya hangs onto something it never leaves it…….like a leech, even if use force to remove.
2)The second one when Uruleva goes through something….it takes everything with it, and never leave anything left for others.
I agree with you when compared these to Rajapakses.”famous Amis Poster boy”
When MR stole Tsunami donations, bribed VP, paid unlimited sum of money, perks and Parliament seats to opposition MPs to cross over, Jailed Gen.Sarath Fonseka, stole elections, Fired both Mr.Kariyawasam and CJ Shirani Bandaranayake…..I knew how far Rajapakses will go to hang on to their power grab at any cost to the country and it’s people.
We have never seen in our whole history a Ruling Family like Rajapakse Blood sucking commission leeches who even will give their Moth..s and wi….s to hang on to power.
Also I have very good knowledge of people from Akuressa, Weeraketiya, Walasmulla areas. They are the biggest cro….s in the world. See what MARA carry in his arm and fingers…..Beware.
True, sad, pathetic and sorry.

Going through multiple posts, one thing is very sure that Srilankan are the hypocrites of highest order. They want humanity showered on them by everyone ( Begging money and ammunition from India but donot listen India’s concerns and its fisher man safety), need buddhism as their religion but not tolerance which is fundamental of buddhism, they can do any atrocities on minorities but no one elase should retailate.
And you people calling Tamil people goons and some even without knowing what is modern day TN growth with IT, Automative, medical trourism potential writing crap about it , not realising what even their country current status..as if they are leading devoloped country life.
Nature bless them little devoloped brain please..

The BBS probably knew(?) the next time around when the IPKF arrives it would be the South which would suffer under the Hndians. There is no LTTE to foolishly fight the Hindians on behalf of the Sinhala/Buddhist state and its people.
As in the past the Sri Lankan armed forces and its political leaders are expected to hide behind their women folks.
The JVP and the state would start killing their own people rather than fighting the invaders.

It is good that you gave this video. It is with bone breaking blows with a club that the bhikku is showing his compassion. What great self control and restraint that the student has displayed. These are the thugs in robes who demand respect in TN, It is disgusting to see a so called monk assaulting others to the point of fracturing limbs.

I think I have a solution to prevent Buddhist Monks from being attacked.
I want to use the same logic that the Sinhalese are using against Muslim Women. The core argument is that the Muslim Hijab/Nikab etc., is not acceptable to the majority Sinhalese community and therefore Muslims should give up the Hijab and adapt to the times.
My submission to Buddhist Monks is that when they go to Tamil Nadu they too should discard their Cheevaraya and don themselves in the Vetti and Saattai so that they become like the majority in TN.
This will ensure the safety of Monks. I hope BBS will take my advice. Please.
