Vijitha Herath Acquitted Of Drunk Driving Charges

Magistrate of the Colombo Traffic Court today acquitted JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath from drunk driving charges, after certain reports claimed that Herath had crashed into a post in Rajagiriya as he was under the influence of liquor.

The Magistrate however ordered Herath, who is a Member of Parliament, to pay a fine of Rs. 1500 for damaging public property, after he knocked down a telephone post in Rajagiriya on Monday night, which also severely damaged Herath’s vehicle.

On Monday night, Herath was arrested by the Welikada police and released on police bail on Tuesday, after he crashed into the post.

Subsequent to the accident, certain media reports claimed that Herath had been under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident, a claim he denied vehemently. He said that the reason for the accident was because he had lost control of the vehicle as he had attempted to save a pedestrian, which resulted in him crashing into the post.

“I was even cleared by the JMO from the drunk driving charge,” Herath said after he was released on police bail on Tuesday.

This man Herath is a good man.

For some family issues, he should be on drugs or alcohol.

Just to cover up that, he has been saying that he was not on Alcohol.

Wonder what drove him to Pol?

    Is it Prince Anura,

Is it because the Prince sold his and Herath’s soul so cheap for just UNP LKR 25 Lakhs which is freaking peanuts, nowadays?.

Or Is it because the guilty conscience for selling out the dead souls of thousands of poor rural youth whose parents are being Economically hammered mercilessly by Batalanada Ranil and Bodhi Sira and their kakka mates.

“Wonder what drove him to Pol?”

Most likely he saw Somawansa standing next to the post in his red shirt and two fingers up in the air.

Now, can you find out whether that vehicle is from Batalanada Ranil’s Rent a Car Fleet?.

Or is it from Vellala Sambanadan’s Rent a Merc fleet?

Breathalyser test and Field Sobriety test should be administered as soon as practicable after the incident as the blood level decreases steadily.

How soon after the collision were these tests done?
In many other countries, these are administered at the roadside by police, soon after the incident.
