The AG has indicted Premachandra, and eight of her staff members for aiding and abetting the abduction, and threatening the man. Premachandra, who is a UNP MP used her defender jeep to abduct the man, Amila Priyanga Amarasinghe from his workplace in Dematagoda on December 21.

The AG has filed indictment charges on 29 counts against Premachandra and her staff members, over the incident.

In January, just weeks after the incident, she was arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division, but within hours she was released on bail. She denied threatening the man, even though a police spokesman quoting the victim said that Premachandra had personally threatened the victim and had told him that she had the power to do anything she wants, including kidnapping.

Later, Premachandra, denied the accusations leveled against her and said that she had not threatened or assaulted Amarasinghe, but she only wanted to help one of her staff members, as his family was about to be broken up by an outsider. She also went on to say that Amarasinghe who was also married, had been having an extra marital relationship with the wife of one of her staff members who had two children.

Yes, satire at best but only the second episode since December 2015. Wait for the next in 6 months, the directors are working on the script 24/7.

poor thing.she had got confused with yahapalanaya and mahinda chintanaya. When you are constantly moving from one camp to another these things happen. Now she must be in shock realising she was in yahapalanaya, not chintanaya.

Action must be taken against Hinrunika despite how attractive she looks. Abduction and assault are very serious offences indeed.

However the AG is pretty smug on more important files sitting on his desk that are of higher concern to the general public. A hundred times worse criminals are still walking on pada yatras and hooting at the President.

    The AG is a joker.

“The fruit never falls far from the tree .”

The fault of your free education.- you like the arabs think the world is flat.

How far depends on the terrain that the tree stands on.
Go over to places like Ella and watch the pears fall into the valley down below and roll miles away.

This is a serious case. Should not let go. No person has any right to abduct any being. It is a criminal offence. Can be seeing as an attempt on a person’s life.

    Counts:
    1. Abduction being a criminal offence (life threat)
    2. Misuse of power
    3. Misuse of government resources
    4. Pain inflicted and more…

Final judgment on similar cases never have taken this long. When there is political involvement, all judgments are delayed.

All citizens are required to follow one rule – one law. No man is exceptional. No person should be treated exceptionally.

I strongly support the govt., and I do understand the govt. will take time to gain the experience and bring about changes to the country. But such incidents such as this should not be ignored. This does fall under good governance.

This dumb woman who became a parliamentarian on a sympathy ticket obviously didn’t realize that she has no right to interfere with other people’s private lives, however sordid it may be. If any laws were broken, it is a matter for the Police, maybe she was not aware that Vigilantism (if that is what this act of kidnapping & intimidation can be called) is illegal. I suppose thuggery is in her genes.

Further proof that the majority of SL politicians are just a bunch of thugs or, at best, yobs.
