Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met Daham Sirisena at the UN Headquarters in New York last night.
President Maithripala Sirisena participated in the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York today, accompanied by his son Daham Sirisena who has no official status whatsoever in the Sri Lankan delegation.
When President Sirisena left for New York and when he arrived in New York the Presidential Media portrayed him as a simple man in contrast to his predecessor Mahinda Rajapaksa whose foreign visits were made with a large entourage with the tax payer having to foot enormous bills. These sentiments were echoed by almost all sections of the local media in Sri Lanka. Indeed pictures of him arriving in New York in a disheveled state was hailed as an example of his simplicity.
Sirisena rode to power pledging to eliminate the nepotism and favoritism that marked Rajapaksa reign.

What is the similarity between Daham Sirisena and Namal Rajapakse? NEPOTISM!
A marked contrast to what President Sirisena said before election and what he practice after election????
Looks like all of these politicians think Sri Lankan people are idiots and can be deceived.

“Indian PM Narendra Modi Meets Daham Sirisena At UN”
CT, your Headline is intended to create dissension. It is made to sound like, Young Sirisena is more important than the Indian PM.

MS is showing his true colors – and making Sri Lankans a laughing stock in the eyes of international community – of course MR also did the same – but voters thought MS will do differently –

This particular MODI cant pronounce the word “Reconciliation” correctly. As I heard him saying reconbiliation… smile ********** -I dont mind leaders not speaking English – Germany s former foreign minister could not build up one sentence in English. Anyways, small countries such hours should spend more for education in that areas. This is becoming common with passout graduates across the country. Those who speak English tease the others as if they landed from QUEENS country. So long malice and jealouscy are key factors in the society, nothing will change the system. I have the feeling they in the Kindergarten they are not forced to read books as it is the case for example in Switzerland.

These are PHOTOs of shame;
1. His son is not even an elected MP But just a young lad left school 4 years ago. How on earth President of Sri Lanka could take him to such a high level meeting
2. This is no way suited to President who came to power arousing emotional voters by cursing Rajapaksha family rule.
3. How much tax payers money had been used for his son’s expenses in US

“And President Yahapalanaya introduced the spare as “Mr President, this is my boy Daham, he is learning on the job”
Is he planning to replace Mangala?
Does he need thug to monitor External Affairs Ministry?
Is he thinking, if GL can Daham can kind of logic?

Native Vedda,
Young Daham has let his inner circle know that he is now ‘well into international affairs’ – and enjoying it! Given the current ministerial standards, Daham will have no problem in fitting in, and there is no fear that he will raise the ministerial average.
Since you may be interested, the one to watch for is lovely young Chathurika. She is capable of disarming with with her ‘attention’, then, taking your legs away before your could say ‘yahapalanaya’. She has some very original ideas of her own too when it comes to ‘good governance’.
We are probably watching the makings of another political dynasty. Meritocracy will have to wait its time.

A silly mistake by the President at this particular juncture that will tarnish his image and shatter expectations of the voters who supported Good Governance and sanity in conduct of politicians. This is the greatest misfortune we have due to lack of Statesmanship in our politicians. Priyantha

Look at Mangala’s face. He is passionately looking at Daham Sirisena. Obviously,Dady looks extremely happy daydreaming how his notorious son will become a world leader one day.

whywhy / September 27, 2015
Namal went with his father and Daham went with his
father. Mahinda took his son with him and My3 took
his son with him .Mahinda and My3 both are from the
same party , speaking the same language and following
the same religion and politics. But My3 doing it
sparingly with only a little waste than his predecessor.
And nepotism at any rate is nepotism and waste is waste.
you just can not forget that 20 million locals are
watching, even though helpless for another five yrs.

Well said whywhy. These fellows are all the same. It was bad enough MR taking not only Namal with him but that other fellow, Sajin Vaas. Anyway, I suppose we are to assume that Modi considered it a great privilege to meet the Presidential off spring.
BTW, what are we to make of a father setting this sort of example to his son? Is this the way to bring up a son as a decent, honest and upright person? If I did something shady, I would not want my son to even know about it, let alone be a part of it.
