Sirisena Reneges On His Promises Again: Refuses To Accept Second NCM Against Rajapaksa

President Maithripala Sirisena has reneged on his promises once again, as he has refused to accept the legality of the second no-confidence motion adopted against Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Sirisena

At a meeting with Parliamentarians of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) this evening, at the Presidential Secretariat, Sirisena had said he could not accept the second no-confidence motion as his advice had not been followed.

Sirisena, at a meeting with party leaders, last evening, said he could accept the no-confidence motion minus the first clause. He requested party leaders to pass an ‘amended ‘ no-confidence motion and promises that he had no issue about accepting the will of the legislature.

Upon Sirisena’s promise, the party leaders today passed an amended no-confidence motion without the first clause which challenged the gazette notifications issued by the President. Hours after the no-confidence motion was adopted, Sirisena had said he was not in a position to accept him, making a 180 degree turn.

Sirisena had also told the SLPP group that he would not appoint UNP Leader Ranil Wickemesinghe as the Prime Minister again, under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference earlier today, JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath said Sirisena’s brain should be checked if he refused to accept the second no-confidence motion.

As the JVP Parliamentarian predicted, Sirisena has now reneged on his promises, bringing the political crisis back to square one.

    This man is mentally sick.
He must be sent Angokoda hospital.
How could one who came with UNP votes do this ?
How could he pay the way to create trouble ?
If country burns now it is M3 WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO ALL.
GOD PROTECT SRI LANKA FROM THIS DICTATOR.

      Sirisena,

You are a Traitor, Sevalaya, <ala-Perethaya, Psatholaya and Pachaya.

What can people do with such a Pachaya?

      Impeach and Remove.

        Mr Amrasiri,

we are so fed up of this man, but we dont have any other option than asking GODs to take him away.

As JVP leader and MPs artculated it SIRISENA s health should beinvestigated.
If he would have been normal, he would not have reacted so reneged.
Now I can imagine, that PM RW should have been the vicitim in MS-RW govt.

How can a PM work with a man of this nature, who changes his decisions taken for the nation, from one dawn to next dusk.

His profile we should have overestimated just becasue he became our President.
From his education we know very well, his education is limited to few diplomas but not possessing even a basic degree.
THough lanken politicians even if they have been in lanken politics for over 5 decades or so, they cant have learnt much. That we see in MR’s too, how he governed the country in his second term.

          Simon De Silva,

“we are so fed up of this man, but we dont have any other option than asking GODs to take him away”

So, lets gather all the religious leaders and ask for a day of Pirith, Prayers., Pooojas , Kattadiyas, etc. so that Sirisena would have a stroke or a heart attack, very soon, and release the populace from this Sirisena curse.

This impasse will only end through economic means ……… that’s how “powers” always fall.

When the economic hardships pile on the people themselves chase away the incompetent rulers.

Sirisena is just an idiotic straw-man; a dummy to be used by anyone who can control his mind on a given day.

Ultimately this is a power-play between the West/India against China for control of SL.

The West should now – by subtle-means – impose comprehensive travel-bans on some people and their families. Just refuse visa-applications without explanations; the culprits will finally “get it.” ………. If you get them by the balls their minds will follow.

Followed by strict economic sanctions ……… that will showcase Mahinda’s economic-prowess for all the Lankans to witness. :))

This mindbogglingly clumsy putsch has taken off some of Mahinda’s “gloss” ……. that every crook/charlatan under the SL skies try to milk for their own survival.

Economic doldrums ……… will take off the rest of Mahinda’s gloss and expose him for what he truly is.

It’s great human-theater to watch from afar! :))

Why not put a motion to impeach Sirisena? His balls have mostly dissolved.

      Sinhalese pundit,
      .
To Save Sr Lanka from Prabaharn, you had to appeal just to India, and perhaps US and even China. To save Sri Lanka from Sirisena/MR you have to appeal to no less than God Alighty!
      .
Any “Lessons (Sinhalese especially) learned” from this?

        Kumar R,
“To save Sri Lanka from Sirisena/MR you have to appeal to no less than God Alighty!”
When Sinhala people realized that God Almighty is not going to save the country from the ‘Samanala’ traitor who was selling the country to his western buddies, they appealed to MR who saved this country from Demala terrorists. Let us wait and see what happens.

Very right, he has been playing with the life of innocient people.

See alone Hon. Speaker Karu Jayasooriya how risked his life today for all the throws on him. He could meet with fatal accidents, anyways most abusive president seems not taking anything serious.

His behaviour is connected with unexpected pathological reasons.

How can he ever face his own family if he is very honest ?
He went on boasting that he has relinquished his executive powers. Now today, he has been actiing as Northkorean Kim Jong.

I think he pleases both sides not being able to do the right thing at right time now.

Yesterday, having met with various party leaders, he agreed upon to respect the outcome of a NCM if that would have been passed according to him.
That was carried out by Hon Karu Jayasooriya in the parliament today.

But after Mr Jayasooriya sent him the letter, he denies it and join hand with MR and his men … and pleases them.

THis man is not capable of doing any good to this nation.

Sirisena should not be our president for any more not for a SINGLE day.

        Sam,
“NCM if that would have been passed according to him.”
Not according to him but to the established procedures. Speaker who is acting like a person above the President did not follow those procedures. He follows instruction from ‘White Supremacists’ who want to have their puppet PM.

you should be bloody ass to see it that way if you closely studied it in the parliamentyestrday.

Those Rajakashe loyalists have no right to demolish Parliament properties. THese men should be arrested and put in jails for longer period.
That should be the first thing to do. All the videos covered the way those ballige puthas throw CHILLIE POWDER on to the speaker.
How those policists were thrown hard things so that can hurt them much.
Please see it in big picture, who on the earth would tolerate thugs taking ground not respecting the mandate given by the people.
President should not be like the pet cat of both sides, but to react.
We hate this man for having abused our votes. All gods will punish him sure in the days to come. Those familes of him should seek exile in Africa.

Yes but jokes and insults, apart this man is seriously, clinically mentally ill – I don’t know the right medical term for this particular type of affliction. Yes he needs clinical attention and must be removed from office; but how to do it? With both sides prepared to murder for partisan gain a 2/3 majority seems pie in the sky, since who will be PM, who will be Acting-Pres are irreconcilable conflicts. At some point we are going to need the last CJ as Acting-Pres, an All-Party Caretaker Cabinet with the current CJ as Caretaker-PM, and new presidential and parliamentary elections. The tragedy is that we need a new constitution BEFORE that, but we won’t get it. Probably we won’t get it even afterwards.

        Kumar David,
“The tragedy is that we need a new constitution BEFORE that,”
It is only Tamil Diaspora and Wellala politicians who are clamoring for the Federal Constitution. All the tax payers money pumped into drafting Federal Constitution by Jadampathi & Supanthiran Co.Ltd. with instructions from their white masters is an utter waste. Ranil should be hanged from his balls for wasting tax payers money for this nonsense while drought stricken people were starving.

In 2015, President Sirisena appointed Ranil Wickramasinghe as the PM while there was a Government elected by people in which D.B.Wijetunga was the PM. At that time, PM Wijetunga accepted the decision of the President and left the Temple Trees without hanging on there, claiming that he has the majority and as such he is the PM. That is the difference between a ‘Gentleman’ Prime Minister and a ‘Rastiyadu’ third grade Prime Minister like Ranil Wickramasinghe. The name of the college can be ‘Royal’ but the products are not always ‘Royal’!

      Eagle Eye,

You have got your knickers in a twist. First is was NOT… Deaf & Dumb Wijetunga who was Prime Minister in 2015. Deaf & Dumb had long before that, left to meet his Maker. It was the Gampolaya D M Jayaratne and he had no fixed abode as he was shunted out of Temple Trees.
The other is that, it was MR who was at Temple Trees, which is the Official Residence of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka which was forcibly occupied by the President of Sri Lanka.
Aiyo Sirisena is to be blamed for the present mess and nobody else.

      Eagle Eye,
      .
Sirisena, after knowing and working with MR for donkey’s years, in 2015 concluded that MR cannot lead the country towards prosperity, and that is the reason he abndoned him and joined hands with UNP..
      .
Now, within two years or so he finds Ranil not an effective leader either. If Ranil failed then Sirisena failed too! Actually Ranil, once and Sirisena twice, once working with MR, and once working with Ranil!
      .
Next, even if booting Ranil is somehow justified, Sirisena needs to show reason for bringing back MR whom he had discarded as evil so rabidly, even accusing him of the worst of crimes. If now Sirisena feels that in 2015 he had assessed MR wrong, and that MR is indeed a good leader for the country, Sirisena is then guilty of booting out a good leader unfairly and unduly for his self-elevation. That then amounts to an additional blunder by Sirisena against democracy!
      .
Three strikes and still not OUT?!

What are you smoking these days? If Mahinda win 113 in next election and joker Sirisena appoint Sajid as PM, Is it acceptable? Not at all, it is not democracy my friend. Why Mahinda didn’t object when Ranil was appointed as PM? You have to give into the majority and that is what democracy. When you are in minority you can’t keep the government in rowdyism. Whether it is Mahinda or Ranil, you have to accept the truth. I really salute Mr.Welagama for his genuine stance.

Please use your Eagle brain before setting claw to keyboard. It was Jayaratne who was PM in 2015 and not Wijetunga. Besides it was clear to everyone at that point that the house would be in agreement with the PM nominee of newly elected president (the SLFP turncoat and present day lunatic). If there was the slightest doubt they could have passed a NCM at that time which was not done. The country and now the world has seen in the last few days who is the Gentleman PM and who is the Rastiyadu fake.

    • 1

Eagle Eye! or rather Blunted/Blind Eye
You got your facts wrong and opinion warped!
D.B Wijetunga did not contest Parliamentary Elections once he became the President after the demise of R. Premathasa; he was different from Mahinda Rajapakshe who is greedy of power and after (mis)using or abusing the powers of the Presidency for two terms and after being booted out by the general public of Sri Lanka, went before the people of Kurunagala district to become a MP.
When the twice-established-Back-Stapping-Sirisena went before the people as the common candidate of the UNF (primarily the UNP) he told the people that he would immediately appoint Ranil as the PM if he were elected as the President. The people gave mandate for it. That is why when Ranil was appointed in January 2015 with around 40 members in the Parliament, the then PM, DM Jayaratne or other MPs of the UPFA did not have the guts to bring a no-confidence motion against the then government! The appointment was vindicated by the People again in 2015 August when the UNF under the leadership of Ranil became the single party with more number of seats in the Parliament.
After failing to defeat Ranil in Parliament at a Vote of No Confidence in April 2018, the slimy & recalcitrant President Sirisena removes Ranil from the Premiership and anoints Mahinda as the PM without getting Affidavits of a minimum of 113 MPs supporting Mahinda as the PM. When a majority of MPs in the Parliament wants to bring a No Confidence Motion against the Mahinda government, the President prorogues; because they could not, by hook or by crook, get round the necessary number, though some were bought over, as per the President’s recent revelation! Who is the ‘Rastiyadu’ and ‘Greedy for Power’ PM? Does Mahinda fit well the epitaph when accepted the position knowing that he does not have the majority and continue to hold on to the position and instigate thuggery and mayhem in Parliament?

His word is worth NOTHING now, not even a few cents. He has lost all credibility within the country, and internationally. MR will also be known as a man who conspired with him to seize power illegitimately. Sri Lanka’s dastardly duo.

Why the Speaker did not take any action against those UNP thug MPs carrying knives inside the Parliament?
This is typical behavior of Goo N.P. guys.
    ————————
We should request UK Government that is propagating Democracy in their former colonies to give a scholarship to Karu Jayasooriya to go to UK and learn how a Speaker should carry out his duties in the Parliament.
People in this country are ashamed of the arrogant behavior of the Speaker Karu Jayasuriye in Parliament and his lack of common sense, apart from his knowledge regarding Parliamentary procedure and the constitution of this country he has to uphold as the Chairman of this august assembly.

It is not that Aiyo Sirisena has reneged on his promise, he had put both his feet in his mouth when he said a few days back that he would not wait one hour if Ranil was to be made the Prime Minister again. Whatever the faults of Ranil may be, the UNP rank and file must stand behind Ranil at this crucial moment in the history of the party.
Sirisena is way beyond his authority to say that he would not appoint Ranil again because it is not his call. Ranil is one politician who has polled more than 500,000 votes for himself in the Colombo district. that is because he has a following. Can Sirisena demand such a colossal number of votes anywhere? What happened to SF would happen to him too. If he contests the Presidential elections in 2020. mark my words, Sirisena will not poll more than 100,000 votes all island. If he is naive enough to contest in 2020, there would be 6,200,000 Plus votes that would be against him. That is for sure as the Sun would rise in the east tomorrow and till election day in 2020.

The second time, the approval of NCM is not constitutional. THE Speaker and the PResident Agrees verbally to remove the first clause and go to votes. speaker did not agree at least to a Gzette notification and did it. Besides the approval is for loudest noise. Why do they need Ranil the bond Scammer until December 07th. Just waste of money. MS has not reneged on his promises again. He asked for a ‘Vote By Name”. His prodders saw to it that this did not happen. They will prevent such ever.
One believes that the NCM was against MR. (Not necessarily MR as PM). Question as to whether Speaker Karu J recognised the appointment as the First PM or as the Second PM does not arise.
PS: The Parliament fracas clearly shows that we have had a coup d’état.

If Sira can refuse to accept the NCM after seeing on camera exactly what happened in Parliament this afternoon, it can only mean one thing. That he’s totally mad and out of control. He’s clearly exhibiting signs of severe psychosis. He is now a grave threat and potential danger to the people of this country and to himself. The earlier he’s apprehended and locked up in a mental asylum the better for the country. And impeachment process should be initiated right away.

How the Wildlife Sanctuaries are maintained? I don’t know. But it has to be in a forest area, should not be in Capital city.
JR’s 1983, 19777 Pogroms have crept into the Parliament with the name of faulty EP Constitution. It has been in action for last 20 days. The mad man N. M. Perera envisaged has come in reality. By now NMP’s coffin might be crying “I told you so, I told you so!”
Thilum Amunugama and Vijitha hearth were attacked in that Soorasamharam (That is how Mano Ganesan called in 13th, Tuesday, the Hindu festival Day of Soorasamharam). Police took the punches thrown at Speaker Karu and protected him. He was the one readily agreed with New King to give PM seat for Old King somewhere in October. That is mainly because Ranil and Karu wanted to honor their war hero. Though Ranil is yet to turn around, Karu, for past few days, is struggling to bring back order to the House. In fact, he already had done more than his fair share in this to save democracy. Now it looks like saved & there is no way it can return.
This time Old King and the cabals are in the losing side. We don’t know to fix the end date of the final episode. But all’s expectation is it will end soon. They need to give it up right away. More it gets dragged then more Ranil will surge in the polls. If he follows a Modaya Strategy, he will bite sand this time and it will be permanent. So far none of Old King election strategies had really any imaginative or powerful appeals, but explosive, naked racism is the one has been bringing him victories.

Sumanthiran has said he will be going to Court again.
Here, New King asked from minority parties to give up the 1st clause in the 1st NCM and represent it. One of the elements in that clause was declaring Null and Void of appointing Old King as PM. This may have encountered problems if it were taken to court at that time. Because The Constitution is giving unlimited authority to EP appoint any one to be a PM. When that door is fully that open and without knowing which way the defense would be coming, Anura kumara, Sumanthiran, Hakeem, Rishard and Mano Ganesan didn’t wanted to challenge that in the court. Rather they challenged the parliament dissolvent. They elected to challenge Old Royals inside the parliament on his appointment. Their strategy worked and the NCM passed accepting that clause. But it was rejected by New King. We don’t know if the rejected resolution can be enforced with 2/3. But The Minority Parties leaders went for a compromise and removed that clause and repassed that NCM. EP again rejected. Now Sumanthiran appears to be seeing a clear advantage in legal proceeding as they claim it was rejected by EP third time. Here the point is the changes EP asked is done. That was a negotiated arrangement. So he has to accept it. But through backdoor, he is again bringing back Ranil’s issue. He says he cannot appoint Ranil as PM. We need to see about this Monday again. Probably EP wants to drag this until the Dec 7th. Then he will be able to dissolve the parliament. If he plans like that it will be really dangerous to everybody.

        EE,
        .
Didn’t you guys in 2010-2014 period argue that it is only because Prabaharan prevented Tamils from voting that the wrong President got elected?!
        .
Implication of both positions is that left to themselves, the Sinhalese are incapable of electing the right President, with or without the help of (smarter) minorities!

It is not that Tamils claim that we are better at choosing Presidents or leaders.
            .
The point is that both the Sinhala accusations (previously, Praba preventing Tamils from voting, and now EE claiming it was Tamils voting that mattered) has the implication that Singhala majority cannot elect teh right President, either with or without Tamil’s lead!

Serves him (Ranil) right for making proxy president to get his thing(becoming the PM).

Now frustrated over the way things are happening.

He has a matching speaker so he’ll accept an impeachment in no time but where’s 2/3 support to pass it?

Buddy, there must be a background even to dream.

To All those who love democracy and our beautiful motherland, and it’s people, get on the streets and chase out this lunatic idiot. The power is with the people, he is not above them, he is not their master, he is their servant and it’s they put him in that place. It’s a real dictatorship. He has become a dictator. He doesn’t know about people’s power. People’s power chased out so many dictators- Shah of Iran, Suharto of Indonesia, Marcos of Philippines, Mubarak of Egypt, Ben Ali of Tunisia etc. It’s time to teach this bugher and all his goon a good lesson. From all what happened today in the parliament, it all well and clear to the country and world how Sirisena and MR are using their goons to create chaos and mainham in the country. At any cost, this got to be stopped. Period.

Srilanka is now a couple of steps away from becoming a former Myanmar of
Asia ! Removing Ranil to bring in MARA was the first step ! Dissolution of
parliament was the second step ! Refusing to accept parliament majority
voice is the third step ! It was with an unruly disruption in mind that a second
vote was proposed by the conspirator ! IT IS NOW CLEAR FROM THUGGISH
BEHAVIOUR IN PARLIAMENT IT WAS THE WORKS OF SIRA AND MARA !
PARLIAMENT DEMOCRACY IN SRILANKA COULD BE STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE !

There are 122 MPs in the Bond Robbery Report which My3 Sira put in the Archives.
That was what in the Media, after the Report was handed over to Sira..
Now Uncle Karu has counted 122 Voices in Kotte, not Once but Twice, amidst all that chaos.
    What a coincidence?….
    Is it?….

One ting I am happy is that Dr Ranil or his successors won’t get a Two Third now, to bring in that Dr Ranil’s Homeland Constitution. through the back door…

This idiot President of ours is doing the bidding for MR and trying his outmost to justify and call for a general election as the only way out, which is of course what the dictator MR wants. Time to involve the Supreme Court again, there is no honour or dignity in this lawless group of bandits we call our leaders.

Groundhog Days for Sri Lanka have started. It looks like a comedy but actually it is a horror movie.

    This is a mad animal
    He is mentally sick
He creates a HELL in this country.
This foolish fellow completely ruins the whole country and degrades the country.
He takes revenge from Ranil who gave him opportunity to become a president.
This is utterly disgraceful and shameful.
This Sirisena must be hospitalized in psychiatric ward in Angoda.

President & Mahinda Rajapaksa seem to be executing their “plan B” after the court injunction. SLFP will continue to disrupt the parliamentary sessions and may even try to instigate violence to show that the President was right in dissolving the parliament. This may also be used in courts to show that the dissolution is the only way. UNP and allies smartened themselves up and did not react to the provocation, but not sure how long they can keep this up. SLFP complained about some alleged weapons being brought into the parliament but did not think it necessary to mention about the attacks on the speaker and other members of parliament. I doubt Monday would be any different to last Friday and SLFP will come up with another reason to be disruptive. I believe UNP should now seriously consider making an application to court against the removal of RW as Prime Minister. It’s a shame that there are no decent SLFP MPs to say enough is enough.
