Animals compete with us for their survival by taking in oxygen. But plants help us by giving out oxygen during daytime. This is the basic science. Even a little school child is aware of this. Killing a plant is no different to killing an animal. By nature survival of animals (including human ) depends on killing of another animal or a plant. Please let us not descend to the level where we use anything and everything to attack BBS. While criticizing the unethical conduct of BBS, we must remember that we should show higher moral and ethical standards ourselves, both by word and deed. If we abandon our own principles then we cannot appeal to those very principles for protection against the other side.
Few weeks ago BBS, posted some pictures which were rightfully condemned by all people. Similarly, posting these pictures too must be condemned. There is nothing wrong in monks having a meal. They did not BUY or DEMAND this meal. There is no indecent conduct in these photos. It was offered to them. Wow! I wish I could have been with them, but it was a poya day and I was observing sill. These monks are being fed to join Lankan Olympic team for wieght lifting. I like a good old whiskey, a car without a driving license and then drive totally plastered and know everyone one in sight and kill (not halal)and then pay Rs: 100,000.00 fine and complain about the Muslims about killing, chicken, goats or harak! Every human being is entitled to be fed. That is why we take alms to the temple because a monk engrossed in his meditation should not be seeking food.
Now, the reality is furthest of the theology.
This image reveals a few salient details. One, the hosts thought photographing the meal was revealing of their efforts, for all of us to see.
The monks who were part-taking in the meal appear to care less about the impression it conveys. After all they were in the US of A, and not some village in Sri Lanka. So, Fried Rice or Chicken Biriyani, who cares. Halal, Kosher, no problem. Vegetarian ? Big problem.
The irony here is that hypocrites who throw stones at US embassies and shout slogans at their master’s whim, end up kissing the mighty Satan’s land eventually. And , who’s blessings are they seeking there? No blessing here sadhu. Just fresh green dollar$$$ bills by the generosity of US citizens !!! Hahaha.. talk about interfering in the internal affairs of mother Lanka, all the while keeping the protection of the US passport.

The monks don’t demand Gourmet food. They eat whatever is given to them by laity. They are not supposed to refuse food that is given to them as it would hurt the feelings of the people. Therefore they accept, eat and enjoy what is on the plate.
Don’t you want to renounce earthly desires and become a monk?
The plus point is you would be fed well by the laity who usually are poor and eke out a living, spend half year income on coockle muss and something for you to drink before and after your meal.
Monks by nature and training do not demand but the laity knows exactly what you want.
