Muslims Still In Mosques; Shops Looted Throughout The Night

Reporters on the ground in Aluthghama told Colombo Telegraph a short while ago that fires are still raging in certain business establishments and homes, with evidence of heavy looting by mobs who torched the establishments throughout the night.

Colombo Telegraph learns that Military reinforcements including personnel, trucks and riot fighting gear are currently being sent to Aluthgama.

The looting and subsequent torching, and attacks last night occurred despite the curfew which was imposed at 6.45 PM.

Reports said that attacks were carried till the wee hours of the morning.

An uneasy calm prevails over Aluthgama and Beruwala with the curfew still being imposed.

Unverified reports said that the death toll could increase.

Many Muslims are currently being housed at mosques and Muslim organisations are currently calling for dry rations and medicine for the displaced and wounded.

Is this true? Has anyone heard anything about the Taliban?

Interpol has warned local intelligence agencies that the Taliban is operating within Sri Lanka.

Interpol, which is now in touch with Sri Lankan authorities on this matter, is of the belief that the international terrorist organization is using Sri Lanka as an easy transit point to Middle East and other Asian countries.

Intelligence services also believe that some Taliban members have entered the country using forged documents.

They are also believed to be engaged in smuggling and other illegal activities with the cooperation of locals in Colombo and Kattankudy areas.

Taliban is an Islamic fundamentalist military organization which was formed in Afghanistan and later spread its wings to Pakistan and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, speaking to media last month, Terrorism Research Expert Dr. Rohan Gunaratna reiterated that overseas Islamist terror cells are operating in Lanka posing a severe threat to Sri Lanka’s national security.

Commenting on the arrest of Lankan Islamist terror suspect Mohammed Zakir Hussain in Chennai, India, Dr. Gunaratna said Hussain’s associates were still active, jeopardizing the security of entire region that includes Sri Lanka, India and the Maldives.

In india Muzzafernagar violence killed 62 people, mainly muslims while just last month in Assam violence 33 people were killed again majority being Muslims.
This is not to belittle the deaths and the enormous carnage done by BBS. We condemn them and we treat BBS as an equivalent to LTTE.

But this is remind the vultures treading here of the nature of the country they come from.

I totally agree with “elu Kolla”. not only the name of the shop, CT should give the names of the Muslims who did burnt those shops. Actually only you realized that this is a part of an “Muslim Conspiracy” apart from many other Western and Tamil Diaspora conspiracies to destabilize Dharmadveepaya of our Saddarmadveepa Chakrawarthi. Actually now what we have to do is to Investigate as to how they found the money to build these shops. not only that, we also have to investigate whether there is any relatives of these Muslims are in the other countries and weather they are seeking asylum from those countries. We should not stop at that, we should investigate those Muslims are trying get money through Insurance to find money for that purpose. There is another possibility that Muslims did that under the instructions of Madam Pillay and Wellala Vignashwaran of NPC. Actually the President of Bodu Balu Sena(Pvt) was trying calm the “Pure Sinhala Buddhists” but Muslims wanted the other way around. I am really ready to invest whole my wealth to buy Shares in Bodu Balu Sena (pvt) Ltd as it has Grease piyas protection. Return to our investment guaranteed as long as our Sanwedee, Nihathamani, Palapurudu Manaranjana is in the Power.

Yeah yeah… if the names of the shops are shown and if they are Muslim businesses, Ela Kolla will kneel down and beg for forgiveness? No! He would argue that Muslims burnt their own buildings to discredit the Sinhala Buddhsist and to claim insurance money. By the way, where in the bloody hell is Hon Aswar MP?

I cannot believe this CT’s one sided story. There may be a connection with muslim terrorists who came to SL from Pakistan as tourists, who knows.

Government will soon reveal what happened actually

    Prasana,

please do not insult the intelligence of the people with such baseless comments…Unless you were born after 2009 (judging by your comments you certainly got the intelligence of a four year old)how can you even suggest soething like that…as a nation we are moving backwords with this mentallity. if the culprits were sinhalese buddhists would we have witnessed such targeted violence? why is it that when a minority is involved in an incident,do they attack the entire community and their household & businesses…this is a cowerdly racial/communal attack on the minority.end of story
