“You Tamil Dog, I Will Kill You” Buddhist Monk Tells Grama Sevaka In Batticaloa

A Buddhist Monk from Batticaloa has threatened to kill a grama sevaka for filing several court cases against Sinhalese living in the district.

Using absolute filth in Sinhala, Ampitiye Sumana, a monk from the Batticaloa Mangalarama said, “You are a bloody tiger. My blood boils when I see you. You are a bloody dog. You are a Tamil Grama Sevaka. You have been filing case after case against our Sinhalese. Stop filing cases against the Sinhalese. Go and take action against what is happening in Wilpattu and Siripada. If you even send out one Sinhalese from their lands, I will end the rule by the Thambiyas and the Demalas. I will smash you. This is my last warning to all of you,” the monk said.

The monk said that in the past the tigers had killed the Sinhalese, now they are attacking them. He said that the only reason he was not harming the Grama Sevaka was because of the police uniform. During the incident, which occurred on a main road, several police officers including a senior police officer was also present.

The threats were made against the Grama Sevaka by the monk in front of the police officers. The senior police officer who was present at the time of the incident, tried to calm the monk and take him away to a jeep which was parked on the main road.

While walking away, the monk told the Grama Sevaka, “I will smash him till he dies.”

This is a Death Threat to a government officer in public and what is the police officer doing without taking him into custody. Is this the way the minorities are treated in Sri Lanka even today, threaten to kill them if they file court cases and that also by a member of the Buddhist clergy? Threatening to kill is not freedom of speech, it is a crime. What is happening to the law and order in this country? What is the law and order minister going to do about this? What is the Minister of Buddha Sasana going to do about this monk who is publicly shaming Buddhism? What is the president going to do about this? Are they all going to act like this police officer?

This Grama Sevaka should file a court case against this monk for death threats. He should take legal action against this monk.

The police officer should have arrested the saffron clad thug immediately for Hate Speech and disturbing the peace.

The police are accomplices to murder and hate speech against minorities as the killing of 2 Jaffna Students shows.

Sri Lanka needs a Bill against Hate Speech against minorities.

This is Sinhala-Buddhism at its best!

This is why most of the non-Buddhists hate the Buddhist monks. They are all the same, dirty racists and bigots. They think Buddhism is only for Sinhalese. I have never seen a non-racist Sinhala-Buddhist monk in my entire life. One example is this Buddhist monk who is spreading hate, racism and behaving like a rowdy, threatening to kill.

This was not the first time this dirty monk behaved himself like an animal, he even went to the Eastern Province Chief minister’s house and threatened him. Now, another government official. What is happening? Why is everybody scared of this Rowdy in robes? Is it because he is a Buddhist monk? By giving foremost place for Buddhism in the Sri Lankan constitution, is Sinhala-Buddhist racism, bigotry, thuggary, hate speech and hypocrisy protected by the constitution?

If this had happened in a civilized country, this Sinhala-Buddhist Rowdy in Robes would have been arrested on several charges-including threatening to kill. But in a pariah state like Sri Lanka where most of the Buddhists behave like uncivilized barbarians, this is just a normal incident and ignored by the police and the authorities.

      Good pal of Mara –

but please check the video link: There he attacked even MARA. From his verbal expressions on, one can easily get his background. No means a hearted person as appeared to be but a rascal born rascal. And we must also not forget if Authorities have not done the due.. it is they who have to serve the people with justice. Then these rascals can easily be eleminated.
I simply believe, this kind of Monk can cause new wars.

So NO MEANS HIS ACTS SHOULD BE TREATED WITH IMPUNITY.

This must be the language (his mother’s filth) that this monk uses when he stand in front of a Buddha statue to pay homage. Whenever he chant pirith, he must be using his mother’s language, mainly chant about her genitals. I am wondering how the Buddhists of Batticaloa are listening to his Bana with his mother’s filth?

As a non-Buddhist, now I am learning what the Buddha preached but I am wondering why Buddha preached about mother’s genitals. This must be the way the Sinhala-Buddhist parents talk even to their children. Using mother’s genitals must be a part of their common language in their day to day activities.

Serene and silent GS was! He did not seem to care a shit about the unruly behavior of the monk who gave a bad name to Buddhism. Buddhism is in essence a religion which gives much priority to anger management. The monk fails miserably in this respect. GS was embodying the dynamic personality of a first class government officer and it seems that the monk would have been torn to pieces by the GS if he had been aggressive. Despite being silent, the way he was standing in the face of the utter mixture unruly language was a display of his courage.

It is Tamils who belw up civilians and killed innocent people. Now, they come and talk against a buddhist monk who is against a racist and cunning Tamil.

If this Tamils filed eight cases against poor Sinhala people in the area, He has specific objectives.

      Systematic Ethnic Cleansing, that’s all he’s against ! :)
Ask yourself gentleman would you or this cheap cunning thuggery monk in this video have had the spine to speak a word if the demised freedom fighters were still alive? You are the quintessential to the bad things happening to tamils in sri lanka. Go Read a couple of books. Learn a few men.

You Tamils know what that Tamil – GS doing is a very calculated move. He is harassing Sinhala people in that area. This monk is the only one opposing it. this Tamil GS has gone infront of the Monk with their Camara ready which means they were expecting this behaviour from the monk.

This is exactly how LTTE behaved.

It is just some cunning Tamils set up that monk so they can video him. It is the Fault of Sinhala buddhists in Sri lanka. People should help that monk. There are lot of Tamils but there are no sinhala people to help him.

GS was doing his duty. When state lands are encroached without due procedure, the GS and District Secretary have to file cases against the encroachers. Whether in the North,South,East or West, all over the country in courts of law there are cases filed under State Lands (Recovery of Possession )Act.This is routine and mandatory for land officers and public officials to sue the offenders and save state lands. Most of these unlawful encroaching is encouraged by politicians by getting their stooges to do this. The poor GS was only performing his official duty. Why blame him? It is the most reverend Monk who is at fault.

Colombo Telegraph should be congratulated for it’s bold exposition of the barbaric behavior of the Buddhist monk. I would not be surprised if the monk was intoxicated. The passive senior police officer should have taken an alcohol breath test of the monk—if this is done in Sri Lanka!
I wonder whether the Sri Lankan newspapers will have the courage to publicise this event.

I am truly ashamed at this monks behaviour, but with that I would like to know what prompted this behaviour? We need to look in to the root cause, may be he truly was frustrated with what was actually happening in the Northern area to the Sinhala people. So before writing a misguided article, know your story. I still don’t condone his behaviour, he is above all a monk and should know not to speak like that.
People should know there are two sides to this story, what caused this rage induced behaviour? May be if we knew the answer to this question our opinions will be quite different.

Nothing happened to the Sinhalese people they are only trying to steal land from the Tamils and Muslims in the north and east with state armed forces police and the protection of extremist Buddhist monks like this. DO not come here to defend this nasty Buddhist monk. The Sinhalese people were never in the north and east. The North was Tamil and the east was Tamil with a large Tamil Muslim population also amongst them. Only these tow people belonged there. No after independence, especially after 2008 hundreds of thousands of Sinhalese people are coming to the north and east and claiming stolen Tamil and Muslim lands that in the fist place never belonged to them. When Tamil government officials are trying to evict these illegal Sinhalese squatters, who are now emboldened by this behaviour of the 100% Sinhalese armed forces and police in the north and east, they get venom abuse and filth from this nasty Buddhist priest, who is more or less stating the island only belongs to the Sinhalese.

I am truly ashamed at this monks behaviour, but with that I would like to know what prompted this behaviour? Pam, there may be many parts of this story but as a Sinhala Buddhist, I am absolutely appalled an dismayed at the language and behaviour of this so called Monk. No matter what the circumstances, this is not how a Buddhist monk should behave. There is no excuse. It’s a disgrace to the robe. This man, like the members of the Ravana Balaya, BBS and many such “Buddhist” organisations are nothing more than a bunch of Racist, political thugs. If these “monks” behave in this manner, where is Buddhism headed for in this country? Buddhism is a peaceful tollerant religion. These guys are violent thugs bred by the likes of Weere, MR, BR and GR.

      Pam

“People should know there are two sides to this story, what caused this rage induced behaviour? May be if we knew the answer to this question our opinions will be quite different.”

The two sides of this story starts with Adam and Eve and we have to back to that era. We have to think who came first chicken or the hen. The answer will lie there.

For example remember there is a pickpocket murderer suffering in jail. He tried to pick pocket and when the victim resisted he stabbed him and the victim died. So now put in jail.

As Pam said we have to “before writing a misguided article, know your story”. This person became a pickpocket because he had no means to fend for him as when he was very young he lost both his parents because they were killed when terrorist killed them both.

But the two terrorists who killed him became terrorists because the Government discriminated the race he belonged to and he was denied proper education and job. So they became terrorists. The story goes right down to Adam and Eve and so no one should now go to jail for what ever wrong he has done as he would not have done so if he was not a victim of his past.

Do we know what caused this monk to say such words? May be he and the Sinhala residents were harassed for sometime? The person who recorded this was only able to capture the frustration induced rage only but not the actually cause of it. May be the grams seevaka conveniently kept his mouth shut so as to not be implicated? So we can’t say he is an innocent party neither can we point fingers at the monk!
Non of the people commenting here live in the North, so non of us can pretend to know how it feels to be a Sinhala person living in a Tamil Majority

Come on Pam, there is cause and effect no doubt.
but there is absolute justification of anger and disappointment about the man in the yellow robes.

“Do we know what caused this monk to say such words?”

I had known a great monk when I was very young and have had interesting discussions with him. I used to ask him many stupid questions (now I have grown up and realise how stupid I was) almost to the point of provoking him. He never raised his voice, always calm and collected, answered all my questions.

      He was a Buddhist Monk.

If we are to lodge a complaint for UN humanitarian why not begin with the SLJP trying to marry off young girls. I still want to know why this monk did this, may be the Sinhala people were being bullied and they were complaining to the monk because there was no person to hear their plea. First may be look in to the conditions of the sinahal people and then we can come to a conclusion as to whether the allegations made by the monk is true or false and then take action against him.
I do not condone his behaviour. But this story is not complete and seem to be written so as to condemn the monk.
Please think people before going off the handle :)

What has the Muslim marriage law got to do with this nasty extremist Sinhalese Buddhist priest who is leading a pack of Sinhalese extremist to illegally colonist stolen Tamil lands in Batticaloa? Now various Sinhalese hardliners are coming here to defend this priest with all sorts of Lankaweb fairy tales about the poor Sinhalese in the north and east. What poor they area coming in their hordes from the south to steal aquat and steal land from the Tamils, as they are protected by the Sinhalese establishment.
Look how the Sinhalese police and armed forces are silent and protect them. In Trincomalee they brazenly bring a crane and plant a huge Budda statue in the middle of the town. Fully protected by the Sinhalese armed forces and police. In another Tamil Hindu village another Sinhalese Buddhist monk destroys Lord Ganesha’s statue in a Hindu temple and brazenly installs a Budda statue at the site of the destroyed Hindu deity Lord Ganesha and 2as given 24 hour protection by the Sinhalese armed forces, as they did not want the Irate and upset Tamil villagers to reinstall Lord Ganesha’s statue to where it belonged in the temple. Overnight they converted a Hindu temple to a Buddhist temple. These incidents are being repeated every where in the north and east. In the Amparai a huge Budda statue was installed inside a 100% Tamil Hindu village by Sinhalese Buddhist extremists. Now Sinhalese Buddhist are flocking into this ancient Tamil Hindu village and claiming it as theirs. Nothing has been done so far. All this is happening because there is a racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces and police who are also encouraging or turning a blind eye to all this like the video has revealed. This is just one incident. We need this racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces to leave the north and east the police to be Tamil and Tamil Muslim reflecting the area. Do not try to involve the poor Muslims and their marriage law that will be sorted soon.

The fact is that the GS has filed cases against some land grabbers who happen to be Sinhalese. In the East, land grabbing is happening in a big way.I have seen in courts, cases filed against Tamils and Muslims also. This is routine. They have to face the case and prove that they are on the land on a lawful permit issued by the Government Agent. What I can observe here is that the Monk is taking the law unto his hands on behalf of his Sinhala dayakayas much against the law.He is trying to rouse the mean sentiments by bringing in the racial element. What should be done in a civilized and legal manner, the monk has given a racial twist. How can public servants perform their duty under these conditions? Why did that able bodied police officer present not arrest the offending monk but is seen pampering and pacifying the offender? It is dereliction of duty.In the picture even the bystanders including Sinhalese people seem aghast at the outburst of the Monk as they know what the Monk was doing is wrong.

Actually this man called that Tamil person a Dog should not infuriate him or any good looking Tamil person because see that man looks like a Gorilla. There are many good looking Singhalese and Tamils in cities and in the west after mixed marriages but original srilankan country people ( many army served in North) are very ugly – may be this man called that Tamil man a Dog due to frustration of his ugly look. Please do not take him seriously – ignore him – Commenting about him is a waste of time. I think this may be the answer for Pam.

No one should be allowed to become law onto themselves. If there are complaints against newly created Sinhala settlements, the Court can decide if these are legitimate and authorized in accordance with an mutually agreed plan or if these are illegal settlements. Once the ruling is given by Courts, there is nothing anyone can do but abide by it. It is no use trying to cover up this monks bad behavior on the basis of ‘not knowing the other side of the story’ nonsense.

This monk has a history of sabre rattling against politicians, electricity board officials (for allegedly tapping the power supply from the mains, to connect to his Temple), breaking a plaque with a hammer which had Presidents name, for not visiting his Temple opening ceremony, which apparently the President said was not being informed of such an event, and further, demonstrating against Muslims on the roadside using filthy words fit for the toilet bowl. But no one dared to approach nor reprimand him on the basis that he is the only Buddhist monk in charge of the only Buddhist Temple in Batticaloa District. Try setting up another Buddhist Temple in the area and I will bet you, he will create a fight and chase them off. His supremacy has gone into his head. He is no more a humble monk, but a thug gone mad. Where are the other sane people of his clan? Why are they silent without taking action? Are they too afraid to face the music? or are they waiting patiently marking time to see his end? I wonder. A bloody disgrace to Buddhism, its standing as a way of life in this country as well as the whole world and to the pious man all people truly love, revere and respect as Lord Buddha. Such as the stranglehold of the hegemony of these monks, that the people too don’t have the courage to stand up against these monks and call a spade ‘a spade’, but simply follow these roughnecks to their graves.

Death threat against a GS is a serious offence. Monk or anyone who wears robe is not above the law. Anyone can wear a robe but everyone cannot become a GS. There must be some action taken against the police officer for not taking action for this serious offence. I wonder how this robed thug knows that the police will not take action against him. It is clear that police is indirectly promoting these type of activities thro these so called monks. Will not Asgiriya take action against this robed bastards who insult Buddhism by wearing robe? If not, there is going to be a situation soon where if someone wants to commit a crime they will do it with a saffron robe!

What a great advertisement for Sinhala Buddhism. The tamil officer stood still taking the bullshit, in turn an advertisement for non-violence and a triumph for sanity. It affirms the belief that it is time that Tamils are allowed to run their own affairs and not have madmen like this priest stifling them. Scratch a Sinhalaya and you will find a racist in him. It what has kept this race distinct. If there is no hatred against the Tamils, the reason for the existence of this race will vanish.

Its much easier to judge than to tolerate especially when you are seated comfortably behind a computer screen miles away from the actual situation / persons / events leading up to said event. Try to understand how YOUR words may impact another just as these monks racist words effected you and the rest of Sri Lanka. The nature of the outcome of anything and everything is always dependent on how we choose to highlight the good or bad in a situation. So although it sounds very contrived I’ll say it…SPREAD LOVE, NOT HATE !!!

This is the ordinary mind set of sinhalese,if you are Tamil you are LTTE.the Buddhist thug accusing him as tigers.

This is why Wiggi is not happy with this budha statue and so on.when they were burning the Jaffna library the police station is around the corner but nothing changed.

Whats make them wirst is thinking they got superior lion blood they have, look at the context of Senasingha’s brother a Dr from UK and a monk from prestigious peace loving religion.same mentality one got yellow robes meant to preach but it’s disgrace for that religion,if action not only by law enforcement but religious hierarchy.

If it’s Gota he would have put the GS in jail for not respecting the yellow robes.

Then take parliament then in bleach white crooks,

No morals….ethics…humanity… respect..do we have statesmen

Whats the future for our generation regardless selling drugs and prostitutions are we heading for Afghanistan in the name of religion.

Now the times comes everyone work together for our country to prosperous and leave the religion, lanuage and stick as Sri lankans and better build for our future generations.
