“You Tamil Dog, I Will Kill You” Buddhist Monk Tells Grama Sevaka In Batticaloa

A Buddhist Monk from Batticaloa has threatened to kill a grama sevaka for filing several court cases against Sinhalese living in the district.

Using absolute filth in Sinhala, Ampitiye Sumana, a monk from the Batticaloa Mangalarama said, “You are a bloody tiger. My blood boils when I see you. You are a bloody dog. You are a Tamil Grama Sevaka. You have been filing case after case against our Sinhalese. Stop filing cases against the Sinhalese. Go and take action against what is happening in Wilpattu and Siripada. If you even send out one Sinhalese from their lands, I will end the rule by the Thambiyas and the Demalas. I will smash you. This is my last warning to all of you,” the monk said.

The monk said that in the past the tigers had killed the Sinhalese, now they are attacking them. He said that the only reason he was not harming the Grama Sevaka was because of the police uniform. During the incident, which occurred on a main road, several police officers including a senior police officer was also present.

The threats were made against the Grama Sevaka by the monk in front of the police officers. The senior police officer who was present at the time of the incident, tried to calm the monk and take him away to a jeep which was parked on the main road.

While walking away, the monk told the Grama Sevaka, “I will smash him till he dies.”

I watched the incident captured on video. I as a Tamil myself feel proud of the Tamil GS who maintained his cool in spite of the provocation by this mad priest in robes.

This GS is more suited to preach than this rogue priest who really should be arrested.

This man in robes, have his kind of foul langauge. That alone proves the manner how the kind of men make every efforts to take the law to his hand.

This man cant be the only person to have faced those untold stories while the war was at its heights. He is simply trying to create new forms of hatred waves and start and another war.

Policitians should have to react NOW itself taking this man away from the area and keeping him in a camp.
He has no whatsoever respect to anyone but to him.

iF NOTHING CAN BE DONE; he should be taken to PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL.

Nangi, the monk might have a reason for getting angry. Still, you can’t sugar-coat such an unlawful unruly behaviour of a monk.

          What ?

Please check it out for yourself before you adding your thoughts please.

This monk has records about his notorious behaviours.

He is a shame to lanken buddhism.

Why the bugger cant let the authorities to do the job is connected with the blindness of buddhists in the country today. Buddhism is not anything which is related to violences. Like some muslims behave so, today even buddhists of the kind also behave so violent not knowing the philosophy well.

Alone the langague being used by Aggressive monk can be a tool to trace his whereabouts….. telling something and doing the otherway around … has betrayed entire peaceful folks today. We are all the same and we should all be treated with same rights:

Basta. We the sinahalyalayas must notfeel like we should get the big portion even today…. Ali please help others to get it . if you are really honest to you.

            Sorry Nangi,

Your link took me to a vid where the monk explains something to a Police officer. So I thought that relates to this incident.

Whatever it is, we both agree on the same is what matters.

            Cheers,
            Ali

Thugs have lost their control by today.

All these have been developed during the high days of Rajapakshe era. His impunity related passiveness paved way the kind of aggressive monks or the agressive lay ones to become so rascals to a manner we never experienced in 70ties and 80ties in the country. Sure, we faced a brutal war, but that must not be an excuse when explaining about the appalling levels of the society is taken to this day. It is the politicians that only tought filling their pockets neglecting their responsiblities caused society to turn out to be no second to those of Paksitan or Somalians today.

Listen to the video clearly shows, the mad MONK is regarded as a god like representative to the people met with their issues in that areas. It is the responsiblity of respetivea uthoritrieis to serve these people with justice, before it turns out be mountain like problems. Here two or 3 ethnic folks are met with the problems… so the authoririties should have to be even more careful and take prompt actions serving justice accordingly.

The problem with the notorious monk should then be addressed not putting that off one period to other…. this is the not the first time he behaves so violent. He has to learn to be patient – which is the least he has to learn as a buddhist monk., if he cant do so, he has to derobe himself and join the lay people. And also may more likely, he has been suffering from his testesterone frustrations. That he should be able to hold within controls. If he further behaves so , it iwll be a huge problem to this entire society.

All the actions he has taken up sofar, should be investigated and punished him accordingly. If BBS lead can be put in jail for some months, why not this monk ?

Please authorities never allow this to turn out to be a big problem. We have to respect those GS and the like officers in the case, since they have not lost their controls int hat incident, there they teach the kind of monks a clear lession.

PEOPLE FORGET THE ISSUE – NEVER ALLOW ANY NEW FORM OF HATRED WAVES TO TREMOUR THIS BEAUTIFUL COUNTRIY AGAIN.

Thugs in safron costumes or without will make every effort to turn it an another war field out of the peaceful situation we enjoy today. But never think that people regardless of their origin, relgion or others will ever want to fight a war again.

Authorities, please lock up these men – talk to politicians and amends the laws so that the prevailing law provisions could be made useful to corner tthe kind of rascal monks or others and leave the field free to go with reconciliation: latter is no easy so long Rajapakshes and the like utra nationalists and their virulent men make every effort to regain the power.

Please authoriteis, lock up Rajakashe rascals that caricate these rascals for their regains of political powers.

I am told by few – that Rajapakshes spend only in TEMPLES whenever he just visits the places – but making those places his political podiums. He is like a cobra who was once hit and keeping poison to harm his enemies.
Rajakashe blood is proved to be facists. They have the killing mentality but being covered by lanken so called buddhism – they try to consolidate their powers.

Wait and see how the near future catch these men to their mechanisms not allow them free moves anymore. The day Rajaakshes will be in jails, there the day we will start to work towards SUSTAINABLE PEACE IN THIS COUNTRY: That we need to achieve in the months to come. than waiting longer.

That is our dream. Just because his terms found the stop to the terror within the country, , we cant allow him to abuse the nation for their political perverts AGAIN.

Dragging in of of Muslims and abusing them as Thambiyas should be an eye opener for Islamic racists like Izeth Hussain, who feel that insulting Tamils to be the darling of Sinhalese racists and promoting conflict between Sinhalese and Tamils will protect Muslims.

If I were the GS, would have slapped the guy in the yellow robe on the spot what come may. If this monk doesn’t learn discipline from Buddhism, let a sharp slap do the task.

Be it Muslim moulavis, Tamil priests, Christian fathers or Buddhist monks, they should know their limits and how to keep their own respects.

    Several elements to this story.

Firstly, can this video be verified but another person? What is the metadata available? It’s important to ensure that when eyewitness videos are uploaded by journalists and citizens, they are aware of the accepted standards of crucial audiovisual material that can be used at any court of law as evidence.

Secondly, the language is only understood by those who are fluent in Sinhala is it not? So this excludes a vast majority of non-Sinhala speaking public. To add to the above point on video verification, what helps is to have subtitles in Tamil too, not just English because then you are assuming everyone understands Sinhala and English, and you contribute to categorically erasing a whole minority community.

Thirdly, with regard to language again – this is violent, racist, misogynistic language being relayed from the mouth of a patriarch. Let us call him what he is. No one should be above being called out. Just as no one should be above the law. Sri Lankans live as if there are no laws operating in the land, thanks to the leadership who behaves in the exact same manner. And then Sri Lankans move abroad, complaining their own country has gone to the dogs, and behave in exactly the same manner in those countries. So let’s call out the abusers no matter whether they wear a priest’s garb or not. This is unacceptable.

Fourthly, it is not right that nobody stood up or spoke up for the abused, for the victimised. No matter what the context is behind the incidences of unauthorised land-grabbing, and it is clear to me that the Grama Sevaka or community head, seems to have been appealing to the law. And here we have the police acting so protective of the priest. You can respect a priest for his conduct, not because he is dressed in orange robes.

Fifthly, what is being done next to ensure that authorities concerned are following up on this? Who is going to follow up on the following up? These are our civic duties. Anyone can take the initiative to do this. It does not have to rest on the media organisation alone.

Sixthly, what are we as a post-war nation doing in terms of healing our peoples? We are in the aftermath of a collective grieving. How have we begun to do the hard work of acknowledging and then collaborating with each other on healing the undercurrents of hatred, resentment, guilt, blame, shame, etc? Each of us can start doing this is it not?

Seventhly, it is so important that these kinds of conversations take place publicly and openly and fairly in spaces that provide for the freedom of expression and access to information. And especially so if we are claiming to be a socially sound, democratic nation.

large scale ethnic cleansing and grabbing of Tamil and at times Muslim lands is taking place in the north and east by Sinhalese Buddhist hardliners led by Buddhist monks like this, with the tacit approval of the armed forces police that are 100% Sinhalese and the Sinhalese elite and establishment. This sort of activity has increased in parts of the Vanni Mannar in the Musali division and in Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
The poor powerless Tamil peasants whose grazing and farming lands are being stolen and illegally encroached by these illegal Sinhalese settlers, have no other option but to complain to Tamil Grama Sevakas government officials and to file cases in courts that costs lots of money. These poor Grama Sevakas and Tamil government officials are desperately trying to provide what ever help they can provide to these Tamil villagers in these regions, whose lands are now being deliberately and systematically being stolen by illegal Sinhalese settlers from out of the area, who are backed by powerful Sinhalese Buddhist extremists. As evidenced in this video this is being tacitly being supported by the Sinhalese police armed forces, who do not do anything, turn a blind eye and in many cases openly provide protection to these Sinhalese racists.
This Buddhist priest and his supporters should have been arrested and charged , he was racially abusing, using foul language and threatening violence which are all against the law towards a government official who was going about his lawful duty. Instead the Sinhalese police officials are seen not doing anything, just mildly asking him to keep quiet and lead him towards his jeep. A jeep for an ordinary Buddhist monk who should walk around humbly begging for alms. Not using threatening violence, racist abuse and filthy foul language from the sewers. Who is funding all this? Why no action taken? Because the victims of this planned ethnic cleansing activities and the government officials are Tamils. Imagine if I start abusing the Sinhalese government official going about their duties in the name of the government, with violence and all this racist filthy foul language, would these Sinhalese police officials set there doing nothing?
We first need this 100% Sinhalese armed forces and police occupying the North and East kicked out and replaced by local Tamil speakers belonging to the region . This just the tip of the iceberg, as someone has taped this. This is what ordinary Tamils have to go through everyday in the north and east. At the hands of illegal Sinhalese settlers stealing their lands, extremist Buddhist monks and a Sinhalese armed force and police. We have become third rates not only in the Sinhalese south but in our own lands in the north and east

I don’t know what kind of spiritualism in Buddhism this man learned about. Such words never ever sculpted in Buddhism and its allies he shouted the reason is now he considered this country is only belonged by Sinhalese apparently other races are going to be rotten odds look at the action of arm of the laws they just are barely spectators over this monk controversial abuse.. he spoke because of he does not have any strong opponent I mean real opponent the Sinhalese have considered as enemies “Tigers” I don’t really believe in law suits or any radical enforcement in this country..anyone can merely abuse the minorities who represents the country partly what government is going to put its head towards into this monk reflected prosperous about other races and people

I don’t think it is right to blame that individual Monk. He must have encouraged by the political, religious and law & order environment that is existing in this island. We should know What actions the president took on this matter, what actions the Mahasangha and Buddhist Organisations, and Civil organisations took in this matter.

      Rengs,

It is unfair to put the blame on Police.

So long a criminal wearing a sanga costume, he or she is automatically free to do anything and everything. That is thanks to Mahawanse guidelines. That has been abused by racial politicians that support directly or indirectly the kind of aggressive thugs. They just want to live up their political fantasies abusing the mad dogs the kind of this man in robes.
He has always been like that sofar.

Rememeber the way he smashed down a name board cemented with the name of incumbent president few months ago, just for the reason, for some reasons, President failed to pay a visit to the place as sheduled.
Why cant the kind of men in robes practise PATIENCE as buddhists.

Is buddhism what were taught – into violence ? Never right ?

But these men with high potential criminal energies have made the buddhism of the country into violence lead philosophy by this day. That is really appalling.
I think Mahanayakes should come forward asking and allowing police to react with the same law provisions – so that police can easily arrest the kind of ABUSIVIE monks -on the spot. : EVEN TODAY WE ARE TOO LATE:

      Brother,

I don’t know if everybody undermines Sinhala people, but incidents such as this would help those trying to undermine not just the people, the Buddhism itself for those who don’t know about Buddhism because such a lowest level of human behaviour is shown by a Buddhist monk here.

“When everybody trying to undermine Sinhalese people this is what happens.”

Your story is worthy addendum to Mahawamsa, …… Rajavalia.

Who is trying to undermine Sinhalese?
      In what ways?
      Where and when?

You have at least 175 Sinhala MPs in the parliament, almost all the armed forces and state institutions are manned by Sinhalese. The Sanga is 100% Sinhalese. This is in fact the case since independence.

What are you moaning and groaning about?

A person who becomes a Monk is different from others .This type of talk is all not found in the Dhamma that I read about .A monk to be venerated has to be above all this ..so as soon as he gives up on his precepts he cease to be a monk ..so lets worry of about the person he is .The Sasana has no place to those who cannot control impulsive behaviour loud or otherwise that hurt others …it is just pathetic of the person and may be he is dire need of help like any other lay person like him

A clear indication that there is another law for Tamils in this cursed land.

Sometimes back a Tamil policeman lived near the Vihara of this was threatened by this same monkey and all his complaint to his superiors were ignored finally he resigned .

Suppose if a Tamil behaved like this against this Buddhist Monkey immediately law will be enforced.

Where are the Asgriya and Malwata Ayotullahs ?

Thailand a Buddhist country has got laws for derobe Monks and prison them .

Buddhism is being prostituted in this land.

Now let the world know why Tamils want separation.

We should not see this case as buddhiest hamaduro case, this shows what the socity is talking about, due to new leadership in Sri Lanka, these comments are unacceptable and not lowdly mentioned in the socity.

The true nature is there is a recentment about land issues, right issues, ownership and who has the right to own the land, who has the right to decide who own´s the land.

Legal system may define what is right and wrong but if the people are not willing to follow then there is no use with
    the court decitions.

Lets take this case as if the land was owned by a Singala person and Gramasevaga is a singelease and if the hamaduro meant if the land should be given to the people who moved in, what will the consequnce would have been?

Secondly most of our children go to Sunday School in Vihara, how will it be our children being taught by this Piku talking in filthy language to our children, who will be our future leaders ?

Who in Sri Lanka will talk about revolution about our buddhiest monastry system ?

The protesters, revolutionaries, fighters, smuglars, thiefs should need another system and shelter than monestry and Vihara´s..

This particular venerable sir, is the one who look after interest and welfare of sinhalese live in baticoloa district.though there are few MPs from tamil and muslim community nobody looking after welfare of sinhalese instead these MPs working against them and deny sinhalese rights as citizen of the country.as such as sinhalese tradition venerable monk has become spiritual leader of the sinhalese. when tamil and muslims officers at the advise of their political paty like TNA and MMC harass sinhalese. as leader our venerable monk reaction is very much reasonable public officers are supposed to be impartial. no racial actions is expected from them. when officers are not doing their job instead do thing as per hidden political agenda, that is expected action from a leader. it was like panapuray king elephant. he fought for its herd till its death.though he is a Buddhist monk same thing applicable here. do not expect action as nalanda monks but Tibetan monks offensive in the face of destruction at the hand of aggressive forces.I as sinhalese Buddhist appreciate very much.as per the history Portuguese first victim was chief monk of tricomale as monk fought against destruction. he got beheaded.likewise our monk may go for offensive without considering threat to his life.I wish him good luck appreciate very much of his leadership qualities.

    • 0

yes if public officer work according to hidden political agenda and deny rightful right of people no harm using abusive language by Tamil or Muslims priest.here situation is very much different.displaced sinhalese have every rights to settle down in their native land before war started.original ones might have died by now but their children and grand children have every rights to claim their ancestral land.if tamils and muslims can settle down in capital city colombo in large numbers. why can sinhalese not settle down in north and east.any reason.cause of monk action is tamil racism and muslims racism.it is very much appreciable.
