Responding to the nepotism charge earlier on his official Facebook page, Daham Sirisena stated that he was officially invited to attend the United Nations General Assembly in the United States of America to replace his mother who could not attend the event.
Colombo Telegraph reliably learns that Daham Sirisena had attended the reception hosted by Barack Obama on September 28th, but the President Maithripala Sirisena’s media unit has been careful not to release any pictures with Junket Daham Sirisena in it.
The same day the managers of President Maithripala Sirisena’s Facebook page has ‘edited out’ both the President and his son Daham from a photograph taken at the UN General Assembly sessions.
“If he was officially invited for this event and since he had attended the official dinner hosted by the President Obama, then why is it that he is not in the official photograph representing his mother?” questioned N. Karannagoda, a foreign policy observer.
