The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani has expressed serious concern at the recent incidents of violence by extremist individuals against Muslims in the towns of Aluthgama, Beruwala and Draga Nagar in Sri Lanka. The reports of several fatalities and dozens injured as well as attacks on homes, businesses and mosques are deeply regrettable.

He noted that the Muslim community in Sri Lanka has a long standing presence in the country and a tradition of living in peace and harmony with their compatriots. Muslims represents an important and active community which contributes to the cultural and economic life of Sri Lanka as a whole. The recent attacks appear to follow a rising trend of violence instigated by extremists which is spreading fear and mistrust among the population.
While appealing for calm and peaceful relations between the communities, Madani urged the authorities to enforce the rule of law, investigate the incidents and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Secretary General expressed the hope that every possible effort would be exerted by the Sri Lankan authorities to prevent further escalation of violence.

CT quoted Muslim leaders saying there was a growing Wahhabi presence in the East. They quoted US Intelligence saying there were 4 militant Muslim organisations operating from Colombo. Last week Interpol is supposed to have confirmed that the Taliban are active in Sri Lanka.
Blame the BBS and the Government for the violence, but don’t blame the BBS for standing up for the Buddhists, no one else is.

1) Yes. I accept what happened in Aluthgama. I’m point of view is death of 9 Muslims in not enough but we need that in millions

BBS is a necessary evil that developed to face Islamic invasion, what u call soft jihad and hard jihad. the sole point of Islam is to kill “infidels” and quencher other land., make the world muslim and implement sharia in the world, suggested the Sinhala ( or rather non-Islamic) society to seek for a mechanism for self defense. the result is the BBS., this is similar to Shiva sena and other anti-muslim self defense mechanisms. Somebody called Gnanasara the Buddhist Prabhakaran. When you think about this you can see that there is some truth in it.
VP and the LTTE did not appear out of nowhere. They were the certain outcome of decades of anti-Tamil pogroms. When peaceful protests failed, Tamils took to violence. When other Tamil militant outfits arose, VP moved quickly to get rid of them.
Now look at Gnanasara. He did not appear for no reason. There have been years of Christian and Muslim fundamentalists operating in this country. Planting churches in every village, unethical conversions, the change to wearing the hijab that scares the hell out of children, all requests to the Government by Buddhist organisations to take action have failed. Like VP, Gnanasara has threatened rival Buddhist organisations.
See the parallels. If Gnanasara had not arisen someone else would have. A tragedy is unfolding before our very eyes.
